"To investigate college students’ agency during the Covid-19 pandemic, a sample of translation students and instructors was surveyed. It was found that 55% of the participants were dissatisfied with distance learning (DL), online communication and had difficulty understanding online lectures. Findings also showed absence of goals, low selfefficacy, low student engagement and motivation, and a negative role. The most common concern was exams and passing courses with high grades. Instructors reported that many students were not interested in online learning, in doing assignments, refused to give oral presentations, did not participate in online class discussions, preferred lecture recordings, cheated on exams, overslept and started exams late. Recommendations for increasing translation students’ agency in DL are given."

The first quarter of 2020 has been a difficult time for the global community. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is affecting various sectors, one of which is education. Physical distancing policies allow learning to be done remotely. Based on the conditions of distance learning, this study wanted to determine the effect of lecturer co mpetence on student satisfaction during a pandemic. The data was collected by distributing questionnaires to college students using purpose sampling. Data analysis using SEM-PLS method. The results showed that social and personality competence had an effect on student satisfaction, but lecturers' pedagogical and professional competence had no effect on student satisfaction during the pandemic. This can be shown from the inadequate infrastructure of distance learning. Lecturers who are needed now are lecturers who have the power of creativity in delivering material so that the delivery of material to students is more interesting and varied in online learning.

This chapter describes the college students’ online social communication patterns and behavior with a focus on the impact of individual differences on learners’ online communication. The study consisted of 27 college students who engaged in an online discussion over a period of fourteen weeks as part of requirements in an undergraduate educational technology course. The findings indicated that cognitive styles such as field dependence and field independence played a critical role in forming learners’ online social communication. Based on social compensation theory and Witkin et al.’s theory of individual differences, the authors claimed that effective individual communication in an online community can be fostered through creating learning support, taking into considerations factors like cognitive styles, complementary personality, interest and motivation in the process of design. Suggestions for future online learning are made with an emphasis on creating an effective online community for learning.

Online lecture is one alternative to support distance learning. STMIK Amikom Purwokerto has implemented the online lecture system. In order to support effective learning while studying online using website media, an effective web interface is needed. However, there were complaints from users when accessing web lectures online. One of them is the user does not understand the overall use of functions on the existing system. Therefore heuristic evaluation is needed to find out how useful the system is in supporting online lectures. The results show that based on the calculation results using heuristic evaluation, the severety rating with a scale of 3 means that the online learning website at STMIK Amikom Purwokerto needs to be throughly improved from both system functionality and interface design.

In order to prevent transmission of Covid-19, the government and universities agreed to temporarily stop face-to-face lectures and replace them with distance learning in the form of online lectures. Even so, the implementation of distance learning in the form of online lectures has different characteristics from face-to-face lectures, because the role of students in online learning is far greater than the role of students in face-to-face lectures so that they require self-directed learning readiness from students so that distance learning is done can be effective. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on students' self-directed learning readiness in attending online lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used in this study is a survey, a survey conducted on 78 students. The results showed that students 'self-directed learning readiness was still at a moderate stage, so it was necessary to make an effort to identify students' self-directed learning needs and to arrange a more complete online learning schedule.

Abstract: This article is aimed at discussing college student's burnout in taking online lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic, the study focuses on two factors, namely: factors that cause college students being burnout and learning strategies that can be implemented to solve the college students burnout. The research method used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, data sources consisted of primary data in the form of interviews with STIA Cimahi students and lecturers, and secondary data sources. The results of the study revealed that student burnout is caused by internal factors that come from himself, such as the unfamiliarity of online learning systems and external factors, such as the monotony of lecturers in delivering material. Therefore, in solving these problems, the researchers found several strategies that needed to be prepared by lecturers, namely changing online learning methods that would be more flexible, changing learning materials by accommodating contextual issues, and expanding learning media by utilizing social networks.
