Urban open space is of great significance to the compact urban center. It is not only a place for people’s public life, but also an ecological regulator in the compact and high-density urban environment. It has important ecological, cultural, economic and other functions for the development of the compact urban center. In this paper, the authors analyze the central urban open space system and green economy planning based on spatial clustering algorithms and ahp model. The results shows that the difference on green open space is much more easily becoming bigger in fast urbanization. This is also the key to improve the quality of regional urban open space at present. By analyzing the spatial pattern of urban open space system at different times by ArcGIS. We found that, in the late period of rapid urbanization, spatial differentiation is more obvious. Under the guidance of landscape, the research on the integration strategy of the open space in the compact urban center will help to establish the integration system of the open space in the compact urban center and enrich the dimension of urban landscape design. At the same time, this research realizes the intensive utilization of the space in the urban center.

In 1880, when the British moved their Federated Malay States administrative centre to Kuala Lumpur, the Padang quickly became a symbol of British economic and administrative colonisation, and a nucleus of the socio-cultural development of Kuala Lumpur. This paper discusses the layers of history, symbolism and cultural values that the Padang contributes to the socio-cultural tapestry of both Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia, and the lack of relevant planning and heritage measures to conserve these attributes and characteristics. AbstractAn urban mobility transition requires a transition in space allocation, since most mobility modes are dependent on urban open space for circulation and the storage of vehicles. Despite increasing attention to space and spatiality in transitions research, the finite, physical aspects of urban space, and the means by which it is allocated, have not been adequately acknowledged as an influence on mobility transitions. A conceptual framework is introduced to support comparison between cities in terms of the processes by which open space is (re-)distributed between car and bicycle circulatory and regulatory space. This framework distinguishes between regulatory allocation mechanisms and the appropriation practices of actors. Application to cases in Amsterdam, Brussels and Birmingham reveal unique relationships created by the zero-sum nature of urban open space between the dominant automobility mode and subordinate cycling mode. These relationships open up a new approach to forms of lock-in that work in favour of particular mobility modes within the relatively obdurate urban built environment. Empirically, allocation mechanisms that routinise the production of car space at national level within the EU are shown to be far more prevalent than those for bicycle space, highlighting the constraints faced by radical city-level policies aimed at space reallocation.

Public open spaces services have been shown to be profoundly affected by rapid urbanization and environmental changes, and in turn, they have influenced socio-cultural relationships and human well-being. However, the impact of these changes on public open space services (POSS) remains unexplored, particularly in the Saudi Arabian context. This study examines the socio-cultural influence of POSS on the King Abdulaziz University campus, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and the impact of these services on well-being. A field survey and questionnaire were used to collect data. Non-parametric tests (Kruskal–Wallis and Mann–Whitney tests) were used to find significant differences in the importance of POSS as perceived by stakeholders based on socio-demographic attributes. Factor analysis was performed for 14 POSS to identify those that are most important. The study showed that (i) university stakeholders are closely linked to services provided by public open spaces (POS) and dependent on POSS, (ii) there were significant differences in the perceived importance of POSS according to gender, age, and social groups, and (iii) 70 to 90% of stakeholders reported POSS as having a positive impact on well-being. Thus, the findings will help design and plan POSS to meet the needs of society and promote well-being.

Calculating and monitoring customer churn metrics is important for companies to retain customers and earn more profit in business. In this study, a churn prediction framework is developed by modified spectral clustering (SC). However, the similarity measure plays an imperative role in clustering for predicting churn with better accuracy by analyzing industrial data. The linear Euclidean distance in the traditional SC is replaced by the non-linear S-distance (Sd). The Sd is deduced from the concept of S-divergence (SD). Several characteristics of Sd are discussed in this work. Assays are conducted to endorse the proposed clustering algorithm on four synthetics, eight UCI, two industrial databases and one telecommunications database related to customer churn. Three existing clustering algorithms—k-means, density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise and conventional SC—are also implemented on the above-mentioned 15 databases. The empirical outcomes show that the proposed clustering algorithm beats three existing clustering algorithms in terms of its Jaccard index, f-score, recall, precision and accuracy. Finally, we also test the significance of the clustering results by the Wilcoxon’s signed-rank test, Wilcoxon’s rank-sum test, and sign tests. The relative study shows that the outcomes of the proposed algorithm are interesting, especially in the case of clusters of arbitrary shape.

By organically combining principal component analysis, spatial autocorrelation algorithm and two-dimensional graph theory clustering algorithm, the comprehensive evaluation model of regional green economy is explored and established. Based on the evaluation index system of regional green economy, this paper evaluates the development of regional green economy comprehensively by using principal component analysis, and evaluates the competitive advantage of green economy and analyzes the spatial autocorrelation based on the evaluation results. Finally, the green economy and local index score as observed values, by using the method of two-dimensional graph clustering analysis of spatial clustering. In view of the fuzzy k –modes cluster membership degree measure method without considering the defects of the spatial distribution of object, double the distance and density measurement of measure method is introduced into the fuzzy algorithm of k –modes, thus in a more reasonable way to update the membership degree of the object. Vote, MUSH-ROOM and ZOO data sets in UCI machine learning library were used for testing, and the F value of the improved algorithm was better than that of the previous one, indicating that the improved algorithm had good clustering effect. Finally, the improved algorithm is applied to the spatial data collected from Baidu Map to cluster, and a good clustering result is obtained, which shows the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm applied to spatial data. Results show that the development of green economy using the analysis method of combining quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, explores the connotation of green economy with space evaluation model is feasible, small make up for the qualitative analysis of the green economy in the past, can objective system to reflect the regional green economic development level, will help policy makers scientific formulating regional economic development strategy, green integrated development of regional green economy from the macroscopic Angle, the development of network system.

This study explored the model of urban impervious surface (IS) density, land surface temperature (LST), and comprehensive ecological evaluation index (CEEI) from urban centers to suburbs. The interrelationships between these parameters in Guangzhou from 1987 to 2019 were analyzed using time-series Landsat-5 TM (Thematic Mapper), Landsat-8 OLI (Operational Land Imager), and TIRS (Thermal Infrared Sensor) images. The urban IS densities were calculated in concentric rings using time-series IS fractions, which were used to construct an inverse S-shaped urban IS density function to depict changes in urban form and the spatio-temporal dynamics of urban expansion from the urban center to the suburbs. The results indicated that Guangzhou experienced expansive urban growth, with the patterns of urban spatial structure changing from a single-center to a multi-center structure over the past 32 years. Next, the normalized LST and CEEI in each concentric ring were calculated, and their variation trends from the urban center to the suburbs were modeled using linear and nonlinear functions, respectively. The results showed that the normalized LST had a gradual decreasing trend from the urban center to the suburbs, while the CEEI showed a significant increasing trend. During the 32-year rapid urban development, the normalized LST difference between the urban center and suburbs increased gradually with time, and the CEEI significantly decreased. This indicated that rapid urbanization significantly expanded the impervious surface areas in Guangzhou, leading to an increase in the LST difference between urban centers and suburbs and a deterioration in ecological quality. Finally, the potential interrelationships among urban IS density, normalized LST, and CEEI were also explored using different models. This study revealed that rapid urbanization has produced geographical convergence between several ISs, which may increase the risk of the urban heat island effect and degradation of ecological quality.
