This study investigated the use of a graphic organizer reading strategy in improving the students’ reading comprehension achievement. It was aimed to find out to what extend the improvement of the students reading comprehension after being treated using the graphic organizer strategy. This research also wanted to check the differences in the result between the class which used the graphic organizer and the class which did not apply a specific reading strategy. This study was conducted at the grade 11 students of SMK Sasmita Jaya Tangerang Selatan. This research administered cluster random sampling in taking samples and decided two classes as the same samples. One class was treated using a graphic organizer and the other class was not treated using any specific kind of strategy or conventional strategy. The method of this research was quantitative research under quasi-experimental research. A quasi-experimental design was used to know the result after specific treatment was applied. After collecting the data, then it was analyzed using SPSS. Based on the result of the data analysis, it was found that applying the Graphic Organizer reading strategy in reading lessons could improve students’ reading comprehension achievement.

The objectives of this research were to find out whether the use of Prezi with KWL Strategy enhances the reading comprehension and the students’ interest. This research employed quasi experimental design. The population of this research was the first grade students of SMA 2 Enrekang in academic 2017/2018. This research employed cluster random sampling technique. The sample consisted of 72 students which belong to two classes; 36 students in experimental class and also 36 students in control class. Research instruments were used to collect the data in this research namely reading comprehension test and questionnaire. The result of the students’ reading score in this research showed that the experimental class improved significantly from 69.69 up to 86.61. While, in control class the result improved from 66.22 up to 75.89. Therefore, the significant values of Independent t-test 0.000 < α = 0.05. It means that the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. Moreover, based on the students’ response on questionnaire showed that the mean score of interest was 80.61 and it was categorized as interested.

The purpose of this research was to implement the skimming technique and analyze its influence in the student comprehending reading texts at the eleventh grade (XI TKJ) of SMK N 3 Metro. In this research the researcher gave pretest to know the students’ ability in understanding reading texts and posttest to know the result of the students’s ability in reading text after giving the skimming technique. This research was quantitative research which had been conducted in SMK N 3 Metro at the class XI TKJ and followed by 70 students as the sample. The tehnique sampling was cluster random sampling. In collectting the data the researcher used test. The researcher used the test to get the data of student’s reading comprehension through the questions which consisted of 30 multiple choices  about the reading text. This test was used to figure out whether the skimming technique was suitable and could be used by the students in comprehending the reading texts. The analysis which was used by the researcher was t-test. Finally, the data indicates that t observed  = 23.945 is higher than t table = 2.99. Therefore, it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It means that the skimming technique influences the students’ reading comprehension at the eleventh graders of SMK N 3 Metro in the academic year of 2010/2011.

The aim of this research is to find contribution of M-APOS model to the students’ mathematical understanding ability. This study is quantitative research and use quasi experimental with the post-test only design with nonequivalent groups. The sample of this research is 73 students gathered by using cluster random sampling. Instrument used in this research is essay test which valid and reliable. The data are from populations that are normally distributed but not homogeneous. Hypothesis test was using t’-test at significant level of 5%, obtained t’ of 1,981. This study concluded that there is the effect of M-APOS models to the students’ mathematical understanding ability, with a contribution of 0,411 which is classified as being moderate.

This research aims to examine whether or not Collaborative Strategy Readingsignificantly affects on students’ reading comprehension. The research samples weretaken using cluster random sampling, with the total number of samples being 72students.The location of this research was SMK Pusaka 1 Jakarta. The research methodologyadopted was Quasi- Experimental methodby involving two groups, namely experimentgroup and control group, with the research design being randomized post-test only controlgroup design. To collect the data, the students were given objective test, numbering 30items. The research data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The findingsindicated that there was significant difference of post-test score between the students whois givenCollaborative Strategy Readingand students who did not getCollaborativeStrategy Reading. It can be seen from the data analysis by using ANOVA that showedFobserved (10.530) is higher than the critical value of Ftable (at the significant level of 0.05and df = 1/70), namely 3.98. It means that Collaborative Strategy Readinghas significanteffect on students’ reading comprehension in recount text.

The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of using self-explanation reading training (sert) strategy on students’ reading comprehension. This research applied a Quasi-experimental research. There were 44 students as sample from 153 students of eleventh grade at MA Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru by using cluster random sampling technique. This researcher used multiple choice test. T-test was used to analyze the data. This research used an independent t-test formula by using SPSS 16 version. Based on the analysis of T-test Formula, Ha is accepted because the sig. value is 0.000<0.05. The research was conclude that there is significant difference of using Self-Explanation Reading Training (SERT) Strategy on reading comprehension in report text of the eleventh grade students at MA Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru.

The objective of this research is to find out whether the use of LRD Strategy can improve reading comprehension of grade ten students particularly in descriptive text. This researcher applied a quasi-experimental research design. The population of this research was grade ten students of SMK Negeri 6 Palu which consist of 108 students. The sample of this research was 36 students of class X TKJ 2 and considered as the experimental class while 36 students of class X TKJ 3 as the control class. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling technique. The technique of data collection was test that includes pre-test and post-test. While the mean score of pre-test in experimental class was about 49.71, the control class is 58.09. In post-test, experimental class got 64.76. On the other hand, the control class got 61.13. By applying 0.05 level of significance and 28 degree of freedom (df), as seen tha table that the value of t-counted is (2.12) and t-table is (1.703). The t-counted value is higher than t-table, which means that the research hypothesis is accepted. Therefore, the use of LRD Strategy can improve students’ reading comprehension in descriptive text.
