This research aimed to apply Team Pair Solo technique to improve students’ reading problemof XI IIS-4 of SMAN 4 Kediri. This research design was a Classroom Action Research. The researcher used several instruments; such as observation checklist, field notes, and reading comprehension test. The finding showed that by using Team Pair Solo technique can improve students’ comprehension in than when they were taught by using previous method. The improvement of students’ reading comprehension was due to the use of Team Pair Solo as the technique in teaching reading.It showed that by using Team Pair Solo, students’ motivation and accommodate students to be well prepared to the reading passage by discussing in team, pair with other student, and finally they have great self-esteem to stand by their self in reading class. It was suggested to all English teachers to apply this technique as one of the methods to increase students’ motivation in English class and also could be used to increase students’ reading skill.

This research was aimed to apply cooperative learning (Team Pair Solo) as the technique to solve students problems in reading class of the third semester of nursing students in Stikes Patria Husada Blitar. This research design was a Classroom Action Research. The researcher used several instruments; such as observation checklist, field notes, and reading comprehension test. The finding showed that by using cooperative learning (Team Pair Solo), students comprehension in reading could be better than when they were taught by using traditional grammar translation method. This result could be seen from the data, in terms of the students individual reading comprehension test, in preliminary research, the number of students who passed the minimum passing grade (64) were only 2 students (20%). In Cycle 1, 10 students (100%) could pass the minimum passing grade (64). The improvement of students reading comprehension was due to the use of cooperative learning (Team Pair Solo) as the technique in teaching reading. It showed that by using cooperative learning (Team Pair Solo), students motivation and self-esteem increased since the cooperative learning (Team Pair Solo) could accommodate students to be well prepared to the reading passage by discussing in team, pair with other student, and finally they have great self-esteem to stand by their self in reading class. Consequently, students became more motivated in terms of in-class discussion and offered opinions since they were accustomed to express their idea through cooperative learning (Team Pair Solo).     It was suggested to all of English teachers/ lecturers to apply this technique as one of the methods to increase students motivation in English class and also could be used to increase students reading skill. Other researchers were expected to elaborate this cooperative learning with other technique so that there would be alot of technique could be used as refference in teaching english. This research was conducted to improve the reading comprehension ability of the students of Economic Department at STIS Nuruddhalam, Sumenep through SQ3R strategy. Due to the problem found that the reading comprehension ability of the students to comprehend the text was unsatisfactory. This research employed two –cycle’s classroom action research and implemented in the 20 students of the first semester of the Students of Economic Department STIS Nuruddhalam, Sumenep. The instruments to collect the data were observation sheet, field notes and the reading comprehension test. The result of this research dicated that SQ3R strategy improved the student's reading comprehension ability that can be seen from the student's score in post test through their gain compare with their score in pretest. In cycle I there were 10 out of the students (50%) achieved 10 points greater than their score in pretest. While in cycle II, there were 15 students out of 20 students (75%) achieved 10 points greater than their score in pretest. Besides, the implementation of the SQ3R strategy was successful in improving the students' participation.

Some problems are faced by students in reading of English text. The interesting strategy is needed to teach them. Story Pyramid Strategyis one of strategies to teach reading comprehension. This strategy forces students to review and summarize the main points of a story. The research aimed at knowing the effectiveness of using story pyramid strategy in teaching  narrative text toward students’ reading comprehension was conducted in SMAN 1 Serang. The research design of this reseacrh was quasi experimental research with quantitative approach. The  research  finding  showed  that  Story Pyramid  Strategy  is  effective in  teaching  narrative  text  toward  students’ reading comprehension to Senior High School.

ABSTRACT The research aims at utilizing cooperative learning in teaching reading skill for Islamic college students. The research was classroom action research which was conducted in two cycles where each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subject were taken from PAI 5 which contained 30 students. The data of this research were obtained from the test, observation checklist, and field notes. The findings of research showed that cooperative learning was effective in developing students’ reading skill. The findings revealed that there were nineteen students who achieved the minimum criteria of achievement in cycle 1, which percentage was 63.3%. In cycle 2, it was found that there were twenty five students who achieved the minimum criteria of achievement, which percentage increased to 83.3%. Both of the classical and individual achievements have met the criteria of success. Besides, students were active in joining classroom activities and completing their classroom tasks. Therefore, it can be concluded that the cooperative learning was effective to develop the students’ reading skill. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan pembelajaran kooperatif dalam pembelajaran keterampilan membaca mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi Islam. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus dimana setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian diambil dari kelas PAI 5 yang terdiri dari 30 mahasiswa. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil tes, lembar observasi, dan catatan lapangan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan membaca mahasiswa. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa ada sembilan belas mahasiswa yang mencapai kriteria pencapaian minimal pada siklus 1, dengan persentase 63,3%. Pada siklus 2, ditemukan bahwa ada dua puluh lima mahasiswa yang mencapai kriteria pencapaian minimum dengan persentase 83,3%. Persentase klasik dan individual telah memenuhi kriteria keberhasilan. Selain itu, mahasiswa aktif mengikuti kegiatan kelas dan menyelesaikan tugas kelas mereka. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif efektif untuk mengembangkan keterampilan membaca mahasiswa. How to Cite: Marzuki, A., G. (2016). This research aimed to find the use of Patterned Partner Reading strategy improve the students reading comprehension at the SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung. The researcher used A Classroom Action Research (CAR). The researcher had conducted two cycles, where each cycle consisted of four meetings. This classroom action research was one at SMP Muhammadiyah Limbung. As subject in this research was the second class with students’ number as about 30 students consist of 7 man and 23 women. The instruments were observation sheet and test sheet. The research findings indicated that the application of patterned partner reading strategy was effective and significant in improving the students’ reading skill especially students’ reading comprehension. It was proved that the mean score of D-Test was 60.8, Cycle I 75.5 and after conducted Cycle II improved to 93 And based of mean score of students’ reading comprehension during two cycle researcher found percentage improvement that is from D-Test to Cycle I is 24.17% and from Cycle I to Cycle II is 23.17 and D-Test to Cycle II 52.96%. It means that there was the improvement of students’ reading comprehension on learning process.

Abstract. The objectives of this research is to figure out whether or not the implementation of SQ3R technique can improve reading comprehension of the eighth grade students of Mts Al-Khairiyah in academic year 2018/2019. Therefore, to achieve the objective, the writer conducted a action research. This research was conducted in two cycles where each cycle had 2 sessions. The data were analyzed by comparing the result of pre-test and post-test. The result post- test showed the significant improvement. This research furthermore showed that most of the subjects gave positive response that SQ3R technique was successfully applied in improving the subjects’ reading comprehension. In conclusion, the present classroom action study proved that SQ3R technique could improve reading comprehension of the eighth grade students of Mts Al-Khairiyah in academic year 2018/2019.

This research is based on the poor ability of students to understand Arabic texts and the lack of interest in reading that is owned by students. So, the students have difficulty in understanding Arabic lessons. The problem in this research is "Is the Al-Qiroah method able to improve reading comprehension in Arabic languageand how to increase the use of the Al-Qira'ah method in reading comprehension in Arabic class lessons VII A HafshohDarul Fattah Qur'an Middle School? " while the purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the Al-Qira’ah method on reading comprehension in Arabic class VII A Hafshoh Middle School Qur'an Darul Fattah and to describe the increased use of the Al-Qira’ahmethod in reading comprehension in Arabic class VII A Hafshoh Middle School Qur'an Darul Fattah. The type of research that researchers use is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research is class VII AHafshoh Middle School Qur'an Darul Fattah amounting to 27 students. This research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle has four learning meetings. In this research, the average value of the students reading comprehension test in the pretest was 60.72, in the first cycle was 66.60 and in the second cycle was 82.02, with the difference in the increase in the pretest to the first cycle increasing by 5.88 points or equivalent to 9.68%. Meanwhile the first cycle to the second cycle increased by 15.42 points or equivalent to 23.15%. It can be concluded that learning by using the Al-Qiro’ah method can improve reading comprehension in Arabic class VII A Hafshoh students at Darul Fattah Qur'an Middle School.

This study aims at (1) seeking whether or not crafting media is able to enhance students’ English vocabulary of fourth grade at SDIT Anak Sholeh Mataram and (2) elaborating on how Craftingmedia is implemented to enhance students’ English vocabulary of fourth grade at SDIT Anak Soleh Mataram. This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) with test, observation, and documentation as the instruments of gaining data. Based on data findings, the mean score of pretest was 80.7 and posttest was 88.9. This significant gap in scores between pretest and posttest (8.2) implied there had been enhancement in students’ English vocabulary achievement as the students were taught by using Crafting media. Crafting media was implemented through several related phases which presented students’ direct and active selves-involvement to pump up the students’ learning motivation to recognize various objects their surroundings. Thus, it can be concluded that Crafting media is able to enhance students’ English vocabulary learning of fourth grade at SDIT Anak Sholeh Mataram. Furthermore, Crafting also could help the students drive their motor and language skills. Therefore, it is expected that English teachers use Crafting media as an alternative teaching media to enhance students’ vocabulary in the English class learning.

In this research, the researcher wanted to describe about the students’reading comprehension achievement. This research design was applied ondescriptive quantitative research. The respondent was the seventh classstudents at SMP Sunan Giri CLuring in 2013/2014 Academic Year. The totalrespondent was 22 students from one class determined through population. The primary data was a reading comprehension test as an achievement testin the form of multiple choices. The result was analyzed statistically inpercentage then descriptively which presented the students’ scores for theirachievement in Literal Reading Comprehension, and Inferential ReadingComprehension. The secondary data was taken from the documentationand interview. The results of the research showed that the seventh class students’ achievement in reading comprehension is good (73,4%). The details are good(75,4%) for Literal Reading comprehension. And was fair (67,2%) for InferentialReading comprehension. The students get the lowest achievement for Inferential ReadingComprehension and the highest achievement for Literal ReadingComprehension. The students need to improve their vocabulary in order tomake them easier in reading comprehension especially for InferentialReading Comprehension.

This study is revealed based on the observation on the tenth grade of SMKN 3 Cimahi.  The subjects of this study consisted of 34 students. The purpose of this study was to improve the students’ reading comprehension using Cooperative Integrated and Reading Composition Method. The research design was Classroom Action Research (CAR) which following Arikunto model. It is used to obtain the results of qualitative data using two cycles described through planning, implementing, observation, and reflection on each cycle. The result of the study showed that there was a development on the students’ reading comprehension. It could be seen from the result of the test. The Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) of English lesson was 70 (seventy).  The students mean score in the first test was 50,  in the first post test the mean score was 65, and in the second post test the mean score was 85. In addition there were 3 students (8.8%) who passed KKM on pre test. In the first pretest there were 9 students (29.41%) who passed KKM. In the second pretest there were 31 students (91.18%) who passed KKM. Then, from the result of observation and interview it showed the positive responses from the students. The students can be more active and improve their ideas. The researchers conclude that Cooperative Integrated and Reading Composition method could improve students’ reading comprehension. Keywords:  Reading Comprehension, Cooperative Integrated and Reading Composition, Narrative Text, CAR
