Ali Bin Abi Talib once said that children should be educated in accordance with the  development of the times. The Ali bin Abi Talib’s statement could be considered as his attention more to the development of human civilization. For that reason, there should be studies focused on the role of educational institutions in facing the challenges of the times. On this stand, the writer raises the existence of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) for being considered to have been able to survive amid the onslaught of civilization increasingly obscuring cultural identity. In addition, this study also aims to identify and discuss the role of pesantren in the modern era. This is a literature study using a descriptive and exploratory approach. It can be concluded that pesantren are non-formal Islamic educational institutions. Pesantren have permanent and distictive methods and learning models. The purpose of pesantren education is the same as Islamic education in general, instilling a sense of virtue, familiarizing themselves with courtesy, preparing for a holy, sincere and honest life entirely. Pesantren could be seen from three aspects: (a) pesantren that are seen from facilities and infrastructures, (b) pesantren that are seen from disciplines taught, and (c) pesantren that are seen from the fields of knowledge.

With social network sites growing in popularity, many organisations, including educational institutions, are starting to use this new platform to market themselves. However, marketing on social network sites is different from traditional marketing. Its value lies in engaging members of the social network and generating shared cultural meaning of the advertised brand rather than promoting awareness of the brand to a large number of people. As marketing on social network sites remains in its infancy and educational institutions are only beginning to understand that it is different from traditional marketing, it is not clear as to how educational institutions can leverage social network sites for their marketing effort. Using a case study on the use of Facebook as a marketing tool by a private educational institution offering degree programmes in Hong Kong, this chapter proposes a framework for marketing higher educational institutions on social network sites. The model suggests that educational institutions should encourage the participation of students on social network sites and engage the students through activities. The activities and participation of students on social network sites not only provide positive reinforcement of the decision to enroll in the education institution but also provide information to prospective students when they are evaluating the alternatives in the choice of an educational institution. In addition, the model also proposes that social network sites should facilitate the decision to enroll in the education institution by providing support in the application process.

This paper contains the psychology orientation of Islamic education. Each education level is different in how to educate and how to overcome the problems that occur, the age of the kindergarden is different from elementary school age, as well as elementary schools are different teaching systems with secondary schools, and also level schools. middle school is different in how to teach and how to deal with the problem with upper level schools. All levels have a phase that must be passed as an educator, if the wrong application results in misorientation, or lose direction. So that education is only a formality without any spirit that shapes the ethics of students to become human beings who are desired by Islamic education itself. The success of education depends on the initial orientation of the establishment of an educational institution. Where students will be taught at the institution. There is a lot of moral degradation in education because the empty psychology orientation of Islamic education in educational institutions, if there is an Islamic name is only a label without content, if from the beginning the educational institution has lost its orientation.

This study aims to describe the implementation of integrated quality strategic management of Islamic education perspective. The method used in this research is a literature study by collecting (material materials) sourced from various books, journals, and other sources. The results of the study indicate that the application of strategic management of integrated quality of Islamic education perspective is that the existence of Islamic educational institutions will be advanced and qualified if the management system implements TQM which in its operation is full of the concept of ihsan as a whole. The implementation of TQM must of course be preceded by quality planning or ihsan planning. The planning is actually an application of intentions or something to be realized and desired. Then this quality planning is broken down in benchmarking. Benchmarking is an activity to set standards, both processes and results to be achieved within a certain period. For practical purposes, the standard is reflected from the existing reality.
