The batik industry produces liquid waste from the coloring, washing and rinsing processes. This study was aimed to analyze the quality of Banten batik effluent before and after treatment. The processing is carried out using an experimental method with a batch system by coagulation using alum and adsorption using Bayah's natural zeolite by performing 3 variations of coagulant mass and adsorbent for the dye test parameters, TDS and TSS. The results of the test before treatment were the results for dyes of 344 TCU, TDS 620 mg/L, and TSS 218.5 mg/L. Based on the coagulation treatment using alum, the most efficient coagulant results were obtained to reduce the levels of dyestuffs and TDS, namely by using alum coagulant as much as 1500 mg/L which resulted in 96.6 TCU and 330.0 mg/L respectively, then to reduce TSS levels obtained an efficient coagulant that is 500 mg/L with a yield of 10 mg/L. The adsorption treatment using Bayah natural zeolite can reduce the levels of TDS and TSS with the most efficient results using an adsorbent of 150 g/L obtained for TDS 189.3 mg/L and TSS 13.3 mg/L. So based on the results of processing using coagulation and adsorption methods, it is hoped that the batik industry can apply it in processing the liquid waste produced.

PT Budi Makmur is one of the made leather industry that located in Yogyakarta. It processing a raw leather which from goat leather that processed into wolves, shoes, etc. PT Budi Makmur also produce water waste that flows to the river and if the waste is not produced in the right way, the waste will be very dangerous for the ecosystem in that river.The aim of this research are to know the process of the liquid waste producing leather tanning, the parameter of the liquid waste before and after through the producing process (COD, BOD, TSS dan pH) , and the condition of the liquid waste producing leather tanning.The kind of this research is descriptive. The research done by collecting the field data an laboratorium, and then analyzed and compared with the existing theory and quality of the liquid waste producing leather tanning.The result show that the source of the waste produce from the leather tranning. Liquid waste that produced is about 8.000-12.000 gallon per 1.000 wet leather pond that produced. The quality of the influent is BOD 1.946mg/lt, COD 1965mg/lt, TSS 1.774mg/ltd and pH 7.50. The quality of the effluent is BOD 98.61mg/lt, COD 100mg/lt, TSS 1130mg/lt and pH 7,49. The step of the liquid waste processing are: filtering ink, equalitation ink, sedimentation, aeration and active mud.The writer conclude that PT Budi Makmur has already optimal to decrease the content that contained in the leather-liquid waste producing but the effluent that is produced still exceed the exsisting standart quality. The suggestion to PT Budi Makmur is to more care about the liquid waste producing.

The aims of this study were to assess the water quality of the River Condong and Condong River Quality Statebased on physical, chemical and biological parameters. Sampling was carried out in seven stations with 3 repetitions at intervals of one month. Water quality were analyzed descriptively by reference raw Water Quality Standard.  Determination of the stateof water quality using methods Storet. Results of laboratory tests showed that the water quality of the River Condong exceed the Water Quality Standard Group II based on Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001 and in particular textile waste quality standard TSS, DO, BOD5, COD, NH3, sulfide, Cr (VI), phenols, oils and fats, Biological parameters using makrobentos diversity index (H ') obtained a low value that is from 0 to 1.7077.  Quality state based Storet method, the value of  > -31. It can be concluded that the condition of physical, chemical and biological parameters, Condong River water showed waters not appropriate the Quality Standard for agricultural irrigation, freshwater fish breeding and infrastructure or water recreation facilities before and after the discharge of liquid waste of batik. Condong River quality state before and after the liquid waste of batik is heavily polluted.

Introduction: The use of detergent every year is increasing in line with the population growth rate in Indonesia. The impact of excessive use of detergent will result in pollution and damage to ecosystems and aquatic biota. The nature of detergents is to damage microorganisms. The dominant laundry waste comes from softeners and detergents. The research aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the "SM" tool to reduce detergent levels in laundry wastewater. Methods: This type of research was pre-experimental with a one-shot case study design. The independent variable was a tool to recycle laundry liquid waste into clean water "SM." The dependent variable was the detergent level (MBAS). The sample came from the laundry in the Kecamatan Baturraden area. Replication was carried out six times. Analyzing differences in detergent levels before and after being treated with the "SM" tool. The analysis used a paired T test. Result and discussion: The experimental results showed the “SM” tool could treat 960 liters of wastewater/day. The physical quality of the water after being treated using the “SM” tool, the water was colorless or clear, but it still smelled slightly fragrantly. The average level of detergent level checks before processing was 2.52 mg/L and after processing was 0.01 mg/L. The effective detergent parameter (MBAS) decreased by 99.51%, categorized as quite effective. The analysis using the paired T Test showed the p value of 0.239 with the lower and upper values being at one pole, meaning there was a significant difference between detergent levels before and after being processed utilizing the "SM" tool. Conclusion: Detergent levels (MBAS) after processing met the chemical quality requirements of clean water in accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 32 of 2017 concerning Environmental Health Quality Standards and Water Health Requirements for Sanitation Hygiene, Solus Per Aqua and Public Bathing Needs.

Kinetic regularities of adsorption treatment of phenolic wastewater with glauconite have been revealed. It was found that glauconite at a dose of 2 g/dm3 in combination with a 0.1% solution of cationic flocculant, which provides removal of resinous substances up to 94% for 10 min and phenols up to 20% during 20 min. As a result, the MPC of phenols and resinous substances was achieved at the stage of mechanical treatment of effluents, which are then fed for biochemical processing into aeratanks, which is 415 mg/dm³ and 25 mg/dm3, respectively. The dispersed composition of sediments after treatment of industrial wastewater with glauconite was studied. It was found that the particle radii of the polydisperse system "liquid waste  – glauconite" in combination with cationic flocculant were the largest and reached r = 537 mkm, which is twice the maximum polydisperse systems "liquid waste  – glauconite" and "liquid waste  – glauconite" with an anionic flocculant. Sedimentation analysis showed that the sedimentation time of the sediment decreased from 17 min to 6 min in the system "liquid waste  – glauconite" in combination with cationic flocculant and formed a precipitate of loose flakes, which settled quickly. The introduction of a flotation plant with a dosage of natural glauconite 2 g/dm3 in combination with a 0.1% solution of cationic flocculant at industrial treatment facilities is proposed. Engineering solutions will improve the quality of wastewater supplied for coke quenching and will make it possible to transport and dispose of sludge after waste treatment with glauconite, which is planned to be used as a raw material for the manufacture of pavements in asphalt plants.

Tembalang is one of the districts in the city of Semarang whose economic growth is rapid. There are 12 sub-districts in Tembalang district, one of which is the Tembalang sub-district, which is within the campus area of Diponegoro University. When compared with other sub-district in the Tembalang district, the Tembalang sub-district community's need for clean water and domestic wastewater disposal is very high because of its dense population. Handling domestic wastewater is one of the environmental problems, which is interesting to study. Domestic wastewater, in addition to causing environmental pollution, can also cause discomfort and even health problems. One way to reduce the impact of domestic wastewater is to treat domestic wastewater before the environment is discharged. This study aims to describe the character of domestic wastewater in Tembalang sub-district, Tembalang district, Semarang city, and the use of activated zeolites and activated zeolites to reduce COD, pH, BOD, and TSS in domestic wastewater. Also, to compare the parameters of wastewater with regulations in force (Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No: 68 of 2016). This research is expected to improve the quality of domestic wastewater by adsorption using natural zeolite and activated zeolite adsorbents. The results showed that the adsorption treatment with natural zeolites and activated zeolites significantly improved water quality. The results of adsorption by natural zeolites showed a decrease in COD of 21.8%, a pH of 11.5%, BOD of 9.2%, and a TSS of 10.8%. Whereas adsorption by HCl-activated zeolite resulted in a decrease in COD of 78.9%, pH of 16.2%, BOD of 11.8% & TSS of 74.4%. While H2SO4-activated natural zeolite reduced COD by 85.5%, pH 17.9%, BOD 12.6% and TSS 89.7%.

Multi Soil Layering (MSL) system is a method of wastewater treatment that increase the soils function to purify wastewater. In the construction of MSL, soils mixed with the charcoal and then filled into the box of size 50x14x50 cm in layers structured like brick pattern. The aims of this research are to determine the concentration of BOD and COD on textile industrial wastewater before and after the process by MSL method. It also determines the optimal loading rate of wastewater on the MSL system, and then it can determine the efficiency of MSL system on reducing the concentration of BOD and COD on textile industrial wastewater. The method which used in this research is an experimental method. The wastewater on the MSL system is loaded on the loading rate variety: 160, 320, 480, 640, and 800 L m-2 day-1. The efficiency of MSL system to removing BOD and COD on textile industrial wastewater are determined on optimal loading rate. The research gave result that MSL method could remove BOD and COD on textile industrial wastewater on the optimal loading rate 320 L m-2 day-1. The efficiency of MSL system in removing BOD and COD on textile industrial wastewater are 96.52 and 80.87% respectively. This indicated that the method MSL serve the purpose of effective alternative method in processing of liquid waste textile industry.

A study on adsorption of AFB1 in corn (kernel and grained) on natural zeolite and bentonite has been investigated. The first work was adsorption in a batch system of standard AFB1 solution on adsorbents. Some factors such as contact time, concentration of AFB1 and particle size of adsorbent were evaluated. The amount of AFB1 adsorbed was calculated based on the difference of AFB1 concentration before and after adsorption determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method. Adsorption of AFB1 in corn sample was emphasized by mixing aqueous suspension of sample with adsorbent. Concentration of AFB1 in suspension was analyzed by enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay (ELISA) method. Result shows that adsorption of AFB1 on adsorbents of natural zeolite and bentonite is very fast. Within 15 min 99% of AFB1 (200 ng/mL) has been adsorbed by 25 mg of bentonite and 96% by zeolite. The particle size higher than 200 mesh did not give significant effect on the AFB1 adsorption capability. Effectiveness of zeolite in adsorbing AFB1 is lower than that of bentonite. Capability in reducing AFB1 contamination in corn samples (kernel and meal) for both adsorbents is lower than that in standard solution.

The purpose of this study is (1) to analyze public perception on urban services before and after the expansion of the region, (2) analyze the level of people's satisfaction with urban services, and (3) analyze the determinants of the variables that determine what level of people's satisfaction urban services. This study concluded that first, after the expansion, the quality of urban services in South Tangerang City is better than before. Secondly, however, public satisfaction with the services only reached 48.53% (poor scale). Third, by using a Cartesian Diagram, the second priority that must be addressed are: (1) clarity of service personnel, (2) the discipline of service personnel, (3) responsibility for care workers; (4) the speed of service, (5) the ability of officers services, (6) obtain justice services, and (7) the courtesy and hospitality workers.

Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam which has a function of faith, social and economic functions. Muslims who can pay zakat are required to give at least 2.5 per cent of their wealth. The problem of poverty prevalent in disadvantaged regions because of the difficulty of access to information and communication led to a gap that is so high in wealth and resources. The instrument of zakat provides a paradigm in the achievement of equitable wealth distribution and healthy circulation. Zakat potentially offers a better life and improves the quality of human being. There is a human quality improvement not only in economic terms but also in spiritual terms such as improving religiousity. This study aims to examine the role of zakat to alleviate humanitarian issues in disadvantaged regions such as Sijunjung, one of zakat beneficiaries and impoverished areas in Indonesia. The researcher attempted a Cibest method to capture the impact of zakat beneficiaries before and after becoming a member of Zakat Community Development (ZCD) Program in material and spiritual value. The overall analysis shows that zakat has a positive impact on disadvantaged regions development and enhance the quality of life of the community. There is an improvement in the average of mustahik household incomes after becoming a member of ZCD Program. Cibest model demonstrates that material, spiritual, and absolute poverty index decreased by 10, 5, and 6 per cent. Meanwhile, the welfare index is increased by 21 per cent. These findings have significant implications for developing the quality of life in disadvantaged regions in Sijunjung. Therefore, zakat is one of the instruments to change the status of disadvantaged areas to be equivalent to other areas.
