This research was design to know the effect of learning model multimedia-based toward the students’ English ablility at senior high school of Kolaka Regency. The question of the research was “Is there an effect of learning model multimedia-based toward the students’ English ablility at senior high school of Kolaka Regency? The objective of the research was to find out the data whether the learning model multimedia-based has an effect toward the students’ English ablility at senior high school of Kolaka Regency. The significant of the research was expected the model can be used as reference learning model to improve the students’ English ablility.<strong> </strong>The design of the research was pre-experimental design. The research was conducted at the first-class students of Senior High School 1 Wundulako in Kolaka District. The data were collected by using English test which given at the pre-test and the post-test.<strong> </strong>In analysed the students’ test result, which the mean score of pre-test was 33,8806 and the mean score of post-test was 69,4058, while the t-table 18,55&gt;2,042 t-test. Its mean that the learning model multimedia-based has an effect toward the students’ English ablility. Refering to the findings and discussions of the research, it can be concluded that the learning model multimedia-based has an effect toward the students’ English ablility at senior high school of Kolaka Regency. It was based on the mean score in pre-test and post-test.Based on the conclusion of the research, the researcher suggests to the teacher, especially English teacher in Kolaka Regency to use learning model multimedia-based in teaching and learning process to improve the students’ English ability.

Abstract There are still a few handouts created by the teachers. In fact, teachers feel lazy to make a handout to succeed their teaching and learning process, especially civic teachers who are still low in understanding how to make and design their own handout. A handout is an instrument that teachers supposed to writing it. By writing a handout, teacher can explore his material based on the problems faced in the class. That is way; the Team thought that we need to give them something to train them in writing their own teaching handout. This community service was given to civic teachers of senior high school who has the important role in tranfering knowledge about civic subject. This activity had some sessions, there were; lecturing, discussion, questions answer and feedback. It hopes that by understanding the way in designing a teaching handout, they will be encouraged to make their own handout to support their teaching learning process in the classroom. ?é?á Key words : a teaching handout, a civic subject ?é?á

As the English teacher in the classroom, there will be some problems or conditions need to be accomplished. Teacher will see some of the students are very motivated, motivated or even feeling ignored in studying English. The learners who have contacted with English will find that some features are quite easy and extremely difficult. One of the more complicated problems of second or foreign languages learning and  teaching has been to define and apply the construct of motivation in the classroom. Motivation is a concept without physical reality, we cannot see motivation; we see effort, interest, attitude and desire. For speaking, it is important first to give competence and then performance. Competence is more likely to the extent a communicator is motivated to be so. Motivation is the extent to which a communicator is drawn towards or pushed away from communicating competently in a given context then performed. This is a descriptive  quantitative research. The data obtained from the questionnaire distributed and analyzed to get the result.  The date taken from the students of Muhammadiyah 1 Senior High School Gresik in Easy-Speaking course. The researcher wanted to know the students’ motivation in practicing speaking English in Easy-Speaking course. The results show that1) the learners effort in practicing speaking English is 56.1 %. 2) The learners’ interest in practicing speaking English is 49.7 %. 3) The learners’ attitude towards practicing speaking English is 59.9 %. 4) The learners’ desire in practicing speaking English is 71.43 %. Then, some suggestions are made: 1) Using media is very important both to increase the learners’ motivation and to give a big opportunity to learners to explore their idea. 2) Giving more variations techniques in teaching and learning process in order do not monotonous. 3) Giving prizes, encouraging and giving extra points for learners who can express their idea by speaking English well. 4) Creating favorable atmosphere in the classroom.

The sophistication of technology and access to information in the twenty-first century pushed education providers to transform preparing students to face a more challenging future. Effective and relevant teaching and learning strategies are needed in biology learning to meet the needs of future generations. Therefore, this study aims to observe the biology learning process in one of senior high school. A qualitative research approach with an observation method was used in this study. This research was conducted in class X SMA N 1 Tanjung, Brebes, Central Java. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation check list, questionnaires, and interviews. Observation of the biology learning process carried out focused on the lesson plan document, learning process, and interviews as well as student and teacher questionnaires on the biology learning process. The data collection process was carried out 3 times. The results obtained from this study indicate that teachers already know the demands of the curriculum and the needs of the 21st century. This can be seen from the of lesson plans made by the teacher. However, other findings from this study are, the skills of teachers in implementing the lesson plan with discovery learning methods are still not optimal. Learning activities undertaken have not yet led to the provision of student skills needed in 21st century. This research is expected to be used as a reference for improving the process of learning biology

Bahasa Inggris di SMP berisi tentang teks singkat tentang deskripsi, naratif, dan prosedural. Idealnya, para siswa diberikan teks bahan ajar yang dekat dengan kehidupan mereka. Kearifan lokal yang ada pada daerah siswa dapat menjadi media belajar yang otentik bagi siswa. Di sisi lain, guru-guru Bahasa Inggris, khususnya pada jenjang SMP di Kabupaten Tanah Laut sebagian besar belum terbiasa mengembangkan bahan ajar yang bermuatan kearifan lokal. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini memiliki tujuan agar guru-guru Bahasa Inggris yang ada di Kabupaten Tanah Laut dapat memodifikasi, membuat, dan mengaplikasikan bahan ajar berbasis kearifan lokal daerahnya dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah Guru-guru Bahasa Inggris SMP yang tergabung dalam MGMP Bahasa Inggris se-Kabupaten Tanah Laut yang berjumlah 50 orang.  Metode yang digunakan pada pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah kualitatif. Hasil pelatihan ini berupa bahan ajar yang meliputi teks deskriptif, naratif, dan prosedural berbasis kearifan lokal Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Bahan ajar dibuat oleh para guru MGMP Bahasa Inggris tingkat SMP Kabupaten Tanah laut. Bahan ajar yang dihasilkan oleh para guru adalah berupa 3 tipe teks bacaan yang dipelajari siswa pada level SMP dan sesuai dengan kearifan lokal yang ada di KabupatenTanah Laut. Teks-teks yang dihasilkan diaplikasikan pada proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran di dalam kelas oleh guru-guru Bahasa Inggris di Kabupaten Tanah Laut. Jadi, ketersediaan dan pengaplikasian bahan ajar yang berupa teks-teks bermuatan kearifan lokal yang dibuat oleh para guru memudahkan siswa dalam proses belajar secara otentik dan juga memudahkan siswa dalam menerapkan pengetahuan sesuai dengan keadaan dan lingkungan di Kabupaten Tanah Laut.  English in junior high contains short texts on description, narrative, and procedural. Ideally, students are given the text of teaching materials that are close to their lives. Local wisdom in the student area can be an authentic learning medium for students. On the other hand, English teachers, especially on junior high school level in Tanah Laut Regency, are mostly not accustomed to developing teaching materials related to local wisdom.  This community is aimed to give opportunity to English teachers in Tanah Laut Regency to modify, create, and apply local wisdom teaching materials in the teaching and learning process. 50 English teachers of junior high school are members of English MGMP of junior high school in Tanah Laut Regency. The method used in this community service is qualitative. The workshop's result is in the form of teaching materials, which include descriptive, narrative, and procedural texts based on local wisdom of Tanah Laut Regency. Teaching materials were created by English teachers of English MGMP of junior high school in Tanah Laut Regency. The resulting texts are implemented in the teaching and learning process in the classroom by English teachers in Tanah Laut Regency. Teaching materials produced by the English teachers are in the form of three genres of reading texts that students learn on the level of junior high school, and they are also in accordance with the local wisdom in Tanah Laut Regency. English teachers of junior high school apply the resulting texts on the teaching and learning process in the classroom. It can be concluded that the availability and application of teaching materials in the form of local wisdom texts created by English teachers enable students to learn materials authentically and also help students apply the knowledge that fits with the condition and environment in Tanah Laut Regency.

The research discusses tolerance education through the teaching and learning of Kema'arifan (wisdom) at SMA (Senior High School) Ma'arif Bandung. In contrast to other studies, this research will be more focused on discussing the process of inculcating tolerance values in schools with the background of Nahdatul Ulama (NU). The research will describe how teachers convey tolerance values through classroom teaching and learning. The research employed qualitative method with data collection techniques of interview, observation, and documentary study. The results show that Kema'arifan instruction can provide deeper knowledge about Islam, aswaja, and other groups. In the teaching and learning process, teachers convey the values of tolerance through lecture, and question- answer methods. Penelitian ini membahas tentang pendidikan toleransi melalui pembelajaran mata pelajaran Kema’arifan di SMA Ma’arif Bandung.Berbeda dengan penelitian yang lain, penelitian ini akan lebih membahas tentang suatu proses penanaman nilai toleransi di sekolah yang berlatar belakang organisasi Nahdatul Ulama (NU). Penelitian ini akan menguraikan bagaimana cara guru dalam menyampaikan nilai-nilai toleransi melalui suatu proses pembelajaran di kelas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Kema’arifan mampu memberikan pengetahuan secara lebih mendalam tentang Islam, aswaja, serta golongan-golongan yang lainnya. Dalam proses pembelajaran, guru menyampaikan nilai-nilai toleransi melalui metode ceramah dan tanya jawab.

Studi ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan model evaluasi kompetensi guru bahasa Inggris SMA yang dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi kelebihan dan kekurangan guru dalam proses pemelajaran dan (2) mengetahui efektivitas implementasi evaluasi internal kompetensi guru bahasa Inggris SMA. Studi ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan yang dikembangkan oleh Borg & Gall (1983, p.775). Subjek penelitian berjumlah 17 guru yang berasal dari 7 SMA di Sulawesi Selatan. Konstruk instrumen terdiri atas instrumen untuk mengevaluasi kompetensi guru bahasa Inggris dalam merencanakan pemelajaran, instrumen untuk mengevaluasi kompetensi guru dalam melaksanaan proses pemelajaran, dan instrumen untuk mengevaluai kompetensi guru dalam mengevaluasi hasil proses pemelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan untuk mengevaluasi kompetensi guru bahasa Inggris. Untuk mengetahui sejauh mana tingkat efektivitas Model Evaluasi Internal Kompetensi Guru Bahasa Inggris SMA, model ini kemudian dievaluasi oleh teman sejawat guru bahasa Inggris dan guru bahasa Inggris itu sendiri. Mereka menyimpulkan bahwa komponen dari model tersebut adalah komprehensip, praktis, ekonomis, dan telah didukung oleh instrumen yang valid dan reliabel. Kata kunci: evaluasi internal, model evaluasi, kompetensi guru   INTERNAL EVALUATION MODEL OF ENGLISH TEACHERS’ COMPETENCY (IEMET) FOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL Abstract High School that can be used to identify the teacher’s strengths and weaknesses in learning and teaching processes and (2) find out the implementation effectiveness of the Internal Evaluation Model of English Teachers’ Competency for Senior High School. This study used research & development methods by following the pattern of phases developed by Borg & Gall (1983, p.775).  The subjects of this study were seventeen English teachers from seven Senior High Schools in South Sulawesi. The constructs of instruments consist of the instrument to evaluate English teachers’ competency in planning the materials, teachers’ competency in teaching and learning processes, and teachers’ competency in evaluating the result of teaching and learning processes. An Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA)was used to analyze he instrument. The result showed the score of  KMO- MSA (Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin Measure of Sampling Adequacy) > 0.5,  Bartlett’s Test of  Sphericity ≤ 0.05, and the score of items total correlation rit<0.3. Meanwhile, the analysis of rater agreement used was Generalizability  of Variants (GENOVA). The interrater correlation showed that the score of G study was > 0.70. This result shows the instruments have fulfilled the requirement to evaluate the English teacher’s competency. In order to know to what extent the effectiveness of the Internal Evaluation Model of English teachers’ competency for Senior High School, the model was then evaluated by peer and the English teacher itself. They concluded that the components of the model were comprehensive, practical, economical, and were supported by instruments that valid and reliable. The scientific approach constitutes an approach to Indonesia's 2013 curriculum. Since it is imperative for Indonesian education, all teachers need to understand, manage, and apply it in the teaching-learning process. Unfortunately, many English teachers still use inappropriate methods as in the 2013 curriculum. This qualitative research aims at discovering the implementation of a scientific approach by English teachers at State Senior High School in Lhokseumawe. The objects were English teachers at SMAN 1 Lhokseumawe, SMAN 2 Lhokseumawe, and SMAN 5 Lhokseumawe. The tools used in this study were observation for three high school English teachers in the schools. The observation results toward the implementation of five scientific approach stages exposed that the English teachers did not carry out the five stages completely. The teacher should master, understand, and apply the teaching process by following the whole stages of the scientific approach. Class mastery and time management are vital for the learning process. Thus, the teachers should consider those points. Hence, interesting supporting media, appropriate learning material, and methods must be considered by the teachers in teaching so that the students will be motivated to learn.

Teaching and learning process constitutes a process which involves several substances purporting to achieve the aims having been planned. Teachers, students and curriculum are teaching and learning foundations. Books are part of a curriculum which plays an important role as a source of insight and information which are taught to students. Good books are books which are enjoyable and interesting to students. These efforts can be made by utilizing teaching media which induce enjoyable impressions which make books interesting. Therefore, the researcher wished to develop the contents of al-Qiraah al-Rasyidah by utilizing pictures. The researcher analyzed the problems and needs required to develop this book at the modern Islamic boarding school of Islamic Senior high school of Az-Zahrah. In this research, the researcher was willing to highlight the steps of how this book was developed, the obstacles faced during this investigation and the effectiveness of the output of this research. This research applied the method of developmental research. The approach utilized was qualitative in order to acquire the supporting data and the quantitative data were utilized to understand the output of this research. The tools used in this research were tests and interview and the data were processed with the correlation of t-test. This was conducted on the basis of the phases that have been determined in the methodology and this developmental research. Although there was an obstacle faced during this investigation, among others were the difficulties in finding illustrators and so on, al-Qiraah al-Rasyidah book which underwent the development process with pictures was effective in terms of student factors.
