Teaching and learning process constitutes a process which involves several substances purporting to achieve the aims having been planned. Teachers, students and curriculum are teaching and learning foundations. Books are part of a curriculum which plays an important role as a source of insight and information which are taught to students. Good books are books which are enjoyable and interesting to students. These efforts can be made by utilizing teaching media which induce enjoyable impressions which make books interesting. Therefore, the researcher wished to develop the contents of al-Qiraah al-Rasyidah by utilizing pictures. The researcher analyzed the problems and needs required to develop this book at the modern Islamic boarding school of Islamic Senior high school of Az-Zahrah. In this research, the researcher was willing to highlight the steps of how this book was developed, the obstacles faced during this investigation and the effectiveness of the output of this research. This research applied the method of developmental research. The approach utilized was qualitative in order to acquire the supporting data and the quantitative data were utilized to understand the output of this research. The tools used in this research were tests and interview and the data were processed with the correlation of t-test. This was conducted on the basis of the phases that have been determined in the methodology and this developmental research. Although there was an obstacle faced during this investigation, among others were the difficulties in finding illustrators and so on, al-Qiraah al-Rasyidah book which underwent the development process with pictures was effective in terms of student factors.

This research was design to know the effect of learning model multimedia-based toward the students’ English ablility at senior high school of Kolaka Regency. The question of the research was “Is there an effect of learning model multimedia-based toward the students’ English ablility at senior high school of Kolaka Regency? The objective of the research was to find out the data whether the learning model multimedia-based has an effect toward the students’ English ablility at senior high school of Kolaka Regency. The significant of the research was expected the model can be used as reference learning model to improve the students’ English ablility.<strong> </strong>The design of the research was pre-experimental design. The research was conducted at the first-class students of Senior High School 1 Wundulako in Kolaka District. The data were collected by using English test which given at the pre-test and the post-test.<strong> </strong>In analysed the students’ test result, which the mean score of pre-test was 33,8806 and the mean score of post-test was 69,4058, while the t-table 18,55&gt;2,042 t-test. Its mean that the learning model multimedia-based has an effect toward the students’ English ablility. Refering to the findings and discussions of the research, it can be concluded that the learning model multimedia-based has an effect toward the students’ English ablility at senior high school of Kolaka Regency. It was based on the mean score in pre-test and post-test.Based on the conclusion of the research, the researcher suggests to the teacher, especially English teacher in Kolaka Regency to use learning model multimedia-based in teaching and learning process to improve the students’ English ability.

Abstract There are still a few handouts created by the teachers. In fact, teachers feel lazy to make a handout to succeed their teaching and learning process, especially civic teachers who are still low in understanding how to make and design their own handout. A handout is an instrument that teachers supposed to writing it. By writing a handout, teacher can explore his material based on the problems faced in the class. That is way; the Team thought that we need to give them something to train them in writing their own teaching handout. This community service was given to civic teachers of senior high school who has the important role in tranfering knowledge about civic subject. This activity had some sessions, there were; lecturing, discussion, questions answer and feedback. It hopes that by understanding the way in designing a teaching handout, they will be encouraged to make their own handout to support their teaching learning process in the classroom. ?é?á Key words : a teaching handout, a civic subject ?é?á

Abstract: This research generally aims to get brief description of application high touch in learning process. This research is conducted by descriptive quantitative method.  The population is all teachers and students at senior high school. Samples are taken by using stratified cluster random sampling technique. The percentage, correlation and t test. The results of this research reveal that application high touch  in learning process less and teachers’ opinion about high touch implementation as implication of teachers’ understanding toward learning process differ significantly with students’ opinion. As the English teacher in the classroom, there will be some problems or conditions need to be accomplished. Teacher will see some of the students are very motivated, motivated or even feeling ignored in studying English. The learners who have contacted with English will find that some features are quite easy and extremely difficult. One of the more complicated problems of second or foreign languages learning and  teaching has been to define and apply the construct of motivation in the classroom. Motivation is a concept without physical reality, we cannot see motivation; we see effort, interest, attitude and desire. For speaking, it is important first to give competence and then performance. Competence is more likely to the extent a communicator is motivated to be so. Motivation is the extent to which a communicator is drawn towards or pushed away from communicating competently in a given context then performed. This is a descriptive  quantitative research. The data obtained from the questionnaire distributed and analyzed to get the result.  The date taken from the students of Muhammadiyah 1 Senior High School Gresik in Easy-Speaking course. The researcher wanted to know the students’ motivation in practicing speaking English in Easy-Speaking course. The results show that1) the learners effort in practicing speaking English is 56.1 %. 2) The learners’ interest in practicing speaking English is 49.7 %. 3) The learners’ attitude towards practicing speaking English is 59.9 %. 4) The learners’ desire in practicing speaking English is 71.43 %. Then, some suggestions are made: 1) Using media is very important both to increase the learners’ motivation and to give a big opportunity to learners to explore their idea. 2) Giving more variations techniques in teaching and learning process in order do not monotonous. 3) Giving prizes, encouraging and giving extra points for learners who can express their idea by speaking English well. 4) Creating favorable atmosphere in the classroom.

The sophistication of technology and access to information in the twenty-first century pushed education providers to transform preparing students to face a more challenging future. Effective and relevant teaching and learning strategies are needed in biology learning to meet the needs of future generations. Therefore, this study aims to observe the biology learning process in one of senior high school. A qualitative research approach with an observation method was used in this study. This research was conducted in class X SMA N 1 Tanjung, Brebes, Central Java. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation check list, questionnaires, and interviews. Observation of the biology learning process carried out focused on the lesson plan document, learning process, and interviews as well as student and teacher questionnaires on the biology learning process. The data collection process was carried out 3 times. The results obtained from this study indicate that teachers already know the demands of the curriculum and the needs of the 21st century. This can be seen from the of lesson plans made by the teacher. However, other findings from this study are, the skills of teachers in implementing the lesson plan with discovery learning methods are still not optimal. Learning activities undertaken have not yet led to the provision of student skills needed in 21st century. This research is expected to be used as a reference for improving the process of learning biology

The research discusses tolerance education through the teaching and learning of Kema'arifan (wisdom) at SMA (Senior High School) Ma'arif Bandung. In contrast to other studies, this research will be more focused on discussing the process of inculcating tolerance values in schools with the background of Nahdatul Ulama (NU). The research will describe how teachers convey tolerance values through classroom teaching and learning. The research employed qualitative method with data collection techniques of interview, observation, and documentary study. The results show that Kema'arifan instruction can provide deeper knowledge about Islam, aswaja, and other groups. In the teaching and learning process, teachers convey the values of tolerance through lecture, and question- answer methods. Penelitian ini membahas tentang pendidikan toleransi melalui pembelajaran mata pelajaran Kema’arifan di SMA Ma’arif Bandung.Berbeda dengan penelitian yang lain, penelitian ini akan lebih membahas tentang suatu proses penanaman nilai toleransi di sekolah yang berlatar belakang organisasi Nahdatul Ulama (NU). Penelitian ini akan menguraikan bagaimana cara guru dalam menyampaikan nilai-nilai toleransi melalui suatu proses pembelajaran di kelas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Kema’arifan mampu memberikan pengetahuan secara lebih mendalam tentang Islam, aswaja, serta golongan-golongan yang lainnya. Dalam proses pembelajaran, guru menyampaikan nilai-nilai toleransi melalui metode ceramah dan tanya jawab.

The current study aimed at 1) developing a portfolio-based learning model at Madrasah Tsanawiyah, and 2) testing the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed learning model. The design of the study was Research and Development (RD) using a 4-D model (defines, design, develop, and disseminate). Teachers’ books, students’ workbooks, a learning model, and validity, reliability, and practicality test were designed to support the implementation of the learning model to the teaching and learning process in the classroom. The qualitative data were collected through observation, interviews, and field notes, while the quantitative data were obtained from test and questionnaires. The data then were used to develop a final portfolio-based learning model. The findings revealed that 1) the learning instruments of portfolio-based learning model such as teachers’ book, students’ workbook, the learning manual could be adopted to implement the model; 2) the learning model was valid, practical and effective. The learning model triggered students’ engagement to study academic writing. It is concluded that the development of a portfolio-based learning model motivated students to study academic writing. Therefore, using a portfolio-based learning model was recommended to discuss further in different research.

Learning English is the most difficult to learn by students, especially in learning of listening aspect. This research aims to investigate the process of listening activity in the classroom using mobile phone as interactive media in extensive listening and how the students’ responds of learning listening using mobile phone as an interactive media in extensive listening. Methodology of this research is descriptive qualitative. The subject of this research is Private Senior High School Muhammadiyah Karawang with 30 students as the sample of this research. The data analysis of this research uses the result of observation, interview, and documentation. Observation is used to know the learning process in classroom. Interview is used to know the students’ respond in learning process. While documentation is used to strengthen the data. The result of observation class shows that the process of teaching and learning listening as follows: (1) the teacher begins learning within 10 minutes, (2) the main activity using mobile phone in learning listening within 25 minutes, and (2) the final activity: the teacher gives a test to measure the students’ ability in listening comprehension. Meanwhile, the result of interview with the students shows that students mentioned convenience and interesting using mobile phone (37%) and accessed in anywhere and anytime (30%), easiness (17%), authenticity (10%), and usefulness and fun (7%) to use their mobile phone in English listening.
