Introduction. The scientific and pedagogical heritage of the outstanding French humanist teacher of the first half of the twentieth century. Célestine Freinet (1896-1966) is extensive and diverse, and is of considerable value for domestic education. The purpose of the article is to reveal the relevance of the idea of using free children's texts in the pedagogical process put forward by Freinet and implemented by him in practice. This idea is particularly important in the work of general education and vocational schools in modern conditions characterized by the accelerated development of distance learning, the constant introduction of technological innovations, as well as the introduction of anti-epidemiological restrictions. Research methods are: a critical analysis of the works of S. Freinet, foreign and domestic authors, researchers of his pedagogical heritage, as well as biographical and historical methods. The research is based on an axiological approach that allows us to identify the value essence of the phenomena and facts to be studied. Results. The study contains biographical facts that characterize S. Freinet as an outstanding teacher and humanist. The article reveals his tireless activity in organizing teachers from different countries in international pedagogical organizations, which aimed at spreading advanced pedagogical ideas and humanistic traditions. The scientific views of Freinet on the use of free children's texts, which remain relevant to this day, as well as a number of other pedagogical views, are comprehensively analyzed. Discussion and conclusions. A critical, but generally positive assessment of S. Freinet's ideas from the standpoint of modern pedagogical science is given. Among them are the organization of education, the relationship between teachers and students, the social purpose of the school, etc. The scientific novelty of the study is to identify the relevance of a number of ideas of an outstanding French teacher, and, above all, about the use of free children's texts in domestic education, which has not previously been the subject of the study of domestic comparative teachers. S. Freinet is included by the author of the article in the book «100 great teachers». In 2021, the 125th anniversary of his birth is celebrated.

This paper seeks to provide a conceptual framework in which to examine the social practices of contemporary austerity programmes in urban areas, including how these relate to different conceptions of crisis. Of current theoretical interest is the apparent ease with which these austerity measures have been accepted by urban governing agents. In order to advance these understandings we follow the recent post-structuralist discourse theory ‘logics’ approach of Glynos and Howarth (2007), focusing on the relationship between hegemony, political and social logics, and the subject whose identificatory practices are key to understanding the form, nature and stability of discursive settlements. In such thinking it is not only the formation of discourses and the mobilisation of rhetoric that are of interest, but also the manner in which the subjects of austerity identify with these. Through such an approach we examine the case of the regeneration/economic development and planning policy area in the city government of Birmingham (UK). In conclusion, we argue that the logics approach is a useful framework through which to examine how austerity has been uncontested in a city government, and the dynamics of acquiescence in relation to broader hegemonic discursive formations.

Nowadays social relations in a society are less aware of, be it with nature, society, and society with God, especially in today's young people who are mostly influenced by digital technology that is growing very rapidly and is inherent in life which makes them very focused with cellphones and indirectly make them individualistic creatures. Through this article, the writer hopes to provide insight, especially to young people, that awareness of social relations is needed that can be realized through culture. The relationship between humans and God, humans and nature, and humans with each other has indirectly formed a social relationship, such as the Karo traditional ceremony, which is worship of the spirits of the ancestors in which there are several rituals as an expression of gratitude for a good harvest. . The Karo Day traditional ceremony involves village communities, one of which is in Tosari Village. The relationship between society and God, society and nature, society and each other, which is formed from the implementation of the Karo Day traditional ceremony, indirectly has a social relationship. This relationship was investigated using the social construction approach of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann. Data collection includes: 1) observation, by looking at the phenomena that are directly or indirectly related to the subject and object of research; 2) interview with the perpetrator; and 3) literature study and documents in the form of photos. The results of this study indicate that traditional ceremonies have an important role in maintaining and forming a social relationship. The Karo traditional ceremony is carried out every year by the Tengger tribe who believe in their ancestors, making a community that is full of tolerance, and adheres to values.

Keywords: Karo Traditional Ceremony, Tengger Tribe Community, Social Construction

The subject of the study is the social network theory for the management of international migration. The theory suggests that migration from the society of origin to the hosting society can occur if links exist between these two societies, and that the flow of migrants follows the established links. The theoretical prediction which one can make is that, if the political administration wishes to establish a flow of migrants between any two societies, a link between these two societies must be established first. The author tested the theory on the case of managing the emigration of workers by the government of Bangladesh. The paper found that, firstly, the links between the origin society and the host society were created artificially, however, in contrast to the theoretical forecast, the author observed that such links usually do not correspond to the geographical distribution of maximum proximity to origin or destination society. Instead, the study revealed, that the closeness of communication between two societies is generated by the proximity between political administrations of the same societies, which contradicts the theoretical expectations. In this regard, the author proposed to expand the theory of international migration in the social network, suggesting that the proximity between two political administrations, and not between two societies as a whole, is a condition necessary for international migration. This, in turn, allows us to fill a theoretical gap that is associated with the relationship between social network theory and the management of international migration. The paper concludes that it is possible to generate arbitrary migration flows, creating appropriate links between any two societies.

The study is devoted to the first two decades of the existence of the Khabarovsk Technical Railway School. It was created during the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway, and is intended to provide personnel for its eastern section — the Ussuri Railway. At present, the legal successor of the school is the Khabarovsk Technical School of Railway Transport. The problems of recruiting the commanding staff before 1917 are outlined, brief biographies of the first three heads of the school, who played a huge role in its formation, are given. Separately, the issues of staffing the teaching corps, which consisted of staff teachers and engineers involved in production, mainly from the Ussuriysk railway, were considered. The conditions for the recruitment of students and the order of their training are given; a brief description of the social composition of students. A detailed list of taught disciplines is shown, including not only general education, but also special subjects. The practical orientation of the work of the educational institution, which graduated mid-level specialists for the track and traction departments, is noted. The system of educational work in the school, which was based on Orthodoxy, has been investigated. Great importance was attached to the material support of the educational process: the school had a beautiful two-story building for its time.

The study of the „information environment – person“ relationship is becoming an increasingly important focus in the research repertoire. The informatization of the social environment is not an isolated phenomenon – it is interpreted as one of the functional characteristics of modern society. Although the „child-to-media environment“ relationship has been the subject of numerous studies, it is still attracting scientific interest. This interest is focused mainly on the specifics of the development of the modern child. Defining the multimedia environment as mediating individual socialization focuses on the multimodal functioning of new technologies. Taking into account this fact requires a new type of organization of the educational environment, aimed at the early development of multiliteracy for orientation in the processes of information and communication in the changing world.

Drawing on qualitative research on housing aspirations in Scotland, the objectives of this article are threefold. Firstly, this article will contextualise the subject of housing aspirations within relevant research literature and situate it within wider debates which revolve around the relationship between housing and social class. Secondly, in order to understand the implications of the research, this article uses Bourdieu’s notion of ‘sociodicy’ to help explain the ‘social’ reasons which incline people to have housing aspirations. Thirdly, the data will be analysed to understand the differences in ‘aspirations’ between groups, concluding that the generational differences, which correspond to the epochal changes in the economy, are more important than class differences when understanding the uneven distribution of housing outcomes and housing wealth in developed societies. The article concludes that the Bourdieusian concept of hysteresis explains the gap between the subjective expectations of young ‘professionals’ and the objective chances of their realisation.

The question of the "hidden curriculum" in the classroom has been the subject of much research. While this research has sometimes focused on the belief systems and value orientations of teachers it has seldom included evaluation of their political and social ideologies. In addition, the research literature has given inadequate attention to black teachers in black classrooms. In this essay Dr. Lightfoot evaluates the relationship between the levels of political consciousness of black teachers and the social and cognitive development in black children including reasoning, reflection, and elaborative thinking. She concludes that differences in political ideology are reflected in differences in educational philosophy and practice, and that both have a profound impact on the development of children.
