This article is a hermeneutic commentary of the introduction to "Truth and Method" by Hans-Georg Gadamer. Here, the reference to Rilke's poem allows us to take on the beginning opus. But ending and beginning are the same from a hermeneutic point of view, and this work has a circular form. In this essay, Gadamer's hermeneutics are explored with a particular focus on some of the basic concepts of his philosophy.

The prenatal period is a vital process for the mother and father to become conscious about the development of the baby. Particularly in this process, in which mental and physical changes are observed in the mother, both the mother and father should be supported in order for the baby in the mother's womb to have a healthy gestation and to prevent a risky pregnancy. In this regard, particularly with the impact of recent technological innovations and with the increasing awareness of parents through increasing literacy, it is reported that the mortality rate is decreased; however, it is also reported that severe injuries during pregnancy and disabled babies still exist. From this point of view, the basic concepts related to development, developmental areas, developmental principles, factors affecting development and prenatal development will be explained in detail in the antenatal development section.

This article seeks to shed some light on the experience of interpretation and translation from a hermeneutical point of view, more precisely on how the subjectivity of the translator plays an essential mediation role in the process of rendering the meaning of a text in a new language, a role that certainly goes beyond the sole linguistic transfer, without being per se subjective. This idea can best be understood through the concept of “game” as developed by the philosopher Hans-Georg Gadamer and introduced in translation theory by Fritz Paepcke, because it offers a model in which the participation of the individual is necessary without being arbitrary, since the players have to abide by the rules of the specific game they are playing – in this case, the text itself. However, the aim of this article is not to offer a method of translation, but is rather an attempt to consider the adequacy of translation on the basis of subjective and intersubjective factors – including the translator’s own prior knowledge and experience, his openness towards the text and his critical self-awareness – and therefore to propose an alternative to the overly normative and restrictive theoretical framework strictly focused on linguistic equivalence between ST and TT.

Hans-Georg Gadamer’s Truth and Method offers a distinctive account of the human relationship to language and history. The book had a transformative effect on many fields, including political theory. It offers a persuasive hermeneutic theory of what the obstacles to and possibilities for textual interpretation actually are and thus forms an account of the proper practice of political theory that is superior to the rival claims of historicism, Straussianism, or post-modernism. Simultaneously, it offers an account of the relationship of individuals to language-communities that recognizes their significance for cultures and persons without reifying their moral or political value. Gadamer’s account of language points toward openness and democracy rather than identity politics or nationalism.

As rational animals, human beings not only have the ability to think but also the capacity to understand. Human rationality is constituted by thinking and understanding. The immediate connotation of rationality, however, is almost always thinking. Hence, to speak of man as an animal rationale is to speak of man as a thinking being. But following his mentor Martin Heidegger, Hans-Georg Gadamer insists that man does not only think, but most importantly understands. To understand is an essential part of being human, of being rational. But what understands? What does it mean to understand? The issue of human understanding is not something simply epistemological; rather, it is something hermeneutical. That is to say, understanding always relates to the act of interpretation. In his monumental work Truth and Method, Gadamer diligently considers the matter of human understanding from a purely hermeneutical perspective. This paper, then, aims to synthesize Gadamer’s hermeneutical theory and argues that for Gadamer, human understanding is essentially characterized by a kind of textual intercourse, that is, a dialogic interaction or an intimate exchange of horizons between an interpreting subject and a text which, in very broad terms, can refer to any object of interpretation. Keywords – understanding, interpretation, hermeneutics, text, language, dialectic

This article explains about digging deeper of Hans-Georg Gadamer's ideas, in term of intuition as a supralogic. This study aim is to find out how the role of intuition develops a view of the goodness and the general truth. In this case, intuition allows someone to act wisely, also could live harmoniously in their community base. Research design: This research aims to describe Gadamer's view of intuition from the point of view of hermeneutic philosophy. The concept of humans is discussed more clearly by Gadamer in his own four ideas, that is: (1) bildung or culture, (2) sensus communis or conscience or heart, (3) consideration, and (4) taste. In this study, can be drawn that the idea of a communist census enables one to act almost intuitively. Implication and the result: Intuition or heart, heart or conscience has a social aspect, that is the sense of community, and by which we can gain knowledge and carry out interpretations. The Intuition approach as a supralogic is an openness to others, whatever its form, be it text, musical sounds or works of art, whose truth cannot be achieved by scientific methods. It is hoped that this study will bring benefit for cultural practitioners and education observers.

This paper intends to review the basic concepts of crescent issue as the most fundamental concepts of the Hijri calendar systems. The crescent basic concept of ṭulū‘ al-hilāl, based on these principles: first, put the crescent as a matter of objective existence does not depend on the subject or observer, but the object itself. Second, the lower moon extremity as a conceptual reference for basic concepts. Third, the beginning of the lunar calender is based on crescent moon rising. This paper also tries to determine the cause of the beginning of lunar calender with the normative traditions of the prophet to analyze the visual sighting of the crescent and istikmāl from the philosophy of Islamic Law’s point of view. Normative cause of fasting Ramadan is not obligatory visual sighting of the crescent of Ramadan, but the rising of the crescent (ṭulū‘ al-hilāl). Visual sighting of the crescent and istikmāl and also Astronomy is a way to find out and make sure that the cause has occurred and they are not the cause by itself

The Pakistani scholar Fazlur Rahman disagreed with the German philosopher Hans-Georg Gadamer on elements of philosophical hermeneutics as they bear upon interpretation of texts ‒ in this case, the interpretation of the Qur’ān. Rahman proposed a “double-movement” theory of Qur’ānic interpretation through which he hoped for the revival and reform of Islamic intellectualism in its encounter with Western modernity, but also with difference from Islamic orthodoxy’s conceptualization of ijtihād. In this paper, I examine Rahman’s concerns as they relate to Gadamer’s general approach to understanding history and textual interpretation. Rahman argued that if Gadamer’s thesis concerning the forestructure1 of human understanding is correct, then Rahman’s theory has no meaning at all. I conclude that there is reason to see Rahman’s theory as consistent with Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics, albeit with some modification given Rahman’s focus on psychologism and objectivity as part of his approach to Qur’ānic interpretation. It is the tyranny of hidden prejudices that makes us deaf to what speaks to us in tradition. Hans-Georg Gadamer, Truth and Method
