Vernacular settlements are mostly made up of buildings whose exceptional stability is testified by their survival over the centuries, even under natural and anthropogenic wounds. The unesco site of the Amalfi Coast shows a vast repertoire of cases to learn about the surviving examples of vernacular techniques and their structural qualities. It is possible to appreciate constructive protection measures that highlight the ancient actions to ensure the built environment's safety. This research aims to represent an effort in the knowledge of the traditional mitigation measures, often considered simply as local architectural elements, analyzing a large number of protective devices on the Amalfi Coast, to take the right actions in the future recovery, conservation, and maintenance operations.

Abstract The future conflicts will take place in increasingly complex operational environments and will largely include conventional, asymmetric or hybrid opponents. The battle space that has acquired new valences and the asymmetrical nature of the current operational environment require the perpetual reconfiguration of the rules of engagement. Within the asymmetric actions, the enemy will focus their efforts on attacking vulnerable military structures, which have a degree of protection inadequate for the operational situation. Therefore, the protection of force is a key element in the effective management of situations, maintaining the pace of actions and the ability to fight in the development of asymmetric operations. From the range of asymmetric actions that manifests itself globally, we aim to conduct an analysis focused on force protection measures specific to counterinsurgency, counter-guerrilla and counter-terrorism operations. The place and role of force protection in asymmetric operations attest to the fact that specific measures are aimed in particular at maintaining the morale and combat capability of their own forces throughout the range of missions performed, as well as protecting the civilian population in the area of action.

Abstract (Forensic) toxicology has faced many challenges, both analytically and interpretatively, especially in relation to an increase in potential drugs of interest. Analytical toxicology and its application to medicine and forensic science have progressed rapidly within the past centuries. Technological innovations have enabled detection of more substances with increasing sensitivity in a variety of matrices. Our understanding of the effects (both intended and unintended) have also increased along with determination and degree of toxicity. However, it is clear there is even more to understand and consider. The analytical focus has been on typical matrices such as blood and urine but other matrices could further increase our understanding, especially in postmortem (PM) situations. Within this context, the role of PM changes and potential redistribution of drugs requires further research and identification of markers of its occurrence and extent. Whilst instrumentation has improved, in the future, nanotechnology may play a role in selective and sensitive analysis as well as bioassays. Toxicologists often only have an advisory impact on pre-analytical and pre-interpretative considerations. The collection of appropriate samples at the right time in an appropriate way as well as obtaining sufficient circumstance background is paramount in ensuring an effective analytical strategy to provide useful results that can be interpreted within context. Nevertheless, key interpretative considerations such as pharmacogenomics and drug–drug interactions as well as determination of tolerance remain and in the future, analytical confirmation of an individual’s metabolic profile may support a personalized medicine and judicial approach. This should be supported by the compilation and appropriate application of drug data pursuant to the situation. Specifically, in PM circumstances, data pertaining to where a drug was not/may have been/was contributory will be beneficial with associated pathological considerations. This article describes the challenges faced within toxicology and discusses progress to a future where they are being addressed.

The study of the role of fundamental values in the formation of sense of justice is an important and relevant topic. The purpose of the study is to comprehensively consider the problems of values in youth, to determine how they affect to the formation of the sense of justice of the younger generation, and to study its role in the process of such formation. Values acquire value forms based on the psychological presentation of a person about the value of things or other objects of the material or intangible world. Values can be understood as a complex conception of human or group human about phenomena, rules, norms, processes, results, objects or other creation that are important to such a person or group of people and in one way or another to influence to this person or group of people. The process of forming the values of a young person begins with the emergence of needs. The needs determine desire, motivation, aspiration, which in the future leads to a subjective conception of value. Values that are related to the ideals of society will be called spiritual values. The modern young generation will persevere attention in focusing on the ideals of spiritual enrichment. At the same time, such a process is not possible without clear guarantees of satisfaction for young people in the first place basic needs. Sense of justice as a means of preventive persuasion, which will contribute to the prevention of crimes only because of the possibility and inevitability of punishment for them, will not fully fulfill its function. The inner conviction is important, as it acts as the reliable guarantor of the sense of justice behavior, which in the future will result in a positive attitude toward the right standards in the young man, and therefore very relevant is the orientation towards the harmonious combination of the young man's aspirations to the formation of values as spiritual as well as others. A clear and well-considered policy aimed at creating and maintaining right values will contribute to the successful formation of sense of justice among young people, which in turn will lead to the prosperity of our country.

This article aims to explore the role of heritage impact assessment (HIA) as a tool to safeguard world heritage sites from the adverse impacts of proposed projects as well as to recommend effective mitigation measures to create the balance between preservation and development. These mitigations will help the decision makers to take the right decision concerning the potential development. The methodology adopts a qualitative approach which is based on semi-structured interviews with site managers of two world heritage sites: historic areas of Istanbul in Turkey and the Giza pyramids in Egypt. Other interviews were conducted with some archaeologists and some governmental bodies in both countries to evaluate the level of awareness of HIA and assess the current and potential threats resulting from development proposals. Consequently, the article applies the HIA methodology to evaluate the potential impacts of proposed projects in both heritage sites. HIA can be an effective solution in order to eliminate the contradictions between the stakeholders investing in world heritage sites. The findings revealed that both world heritage sites are threatened by infrastructure and development projects. There is a lack of professionals who are able to conduct HIA methodology, thus Turkey and Egypt depend mainly on foreign experts to conduct it.

AbstractIt is evident that the development of future generations with the right skills and knowledge, for a career in engineering at all levels, is essential for the future economic prosperity of any country. Moreover, in the future we will need professional engineers with greater interdisciplinary understanding, and with more specialist skills. So, we will need a deeper understanding of the sciences that underpin the art of engineering, and we will therefore need to know which are the mathematical skills needed to apply these sciences. Because advances in the use of information technology and computers have transformed engineering analytical techniques, production and management processes, it raises some questions: What is and will be the role of mathematics in the education of engineering? What mathematical skills are needed for the engineers of tomorrow, and how and when these might best be acquired? This paper is dedicated to an objective analysis of the positioning of mathematics courses to those of specialized training mechanical engineers. Both authors share their extensive experience in teaching mathematics and science of mechanical engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

The article investigates the role of communicative competence in the formation of professional qualities of student youth, it identifies important problems of communication of students-future historians and outlines the search for ways to overcome them. The meaning of such concepts as «communication», «communion» and «communicative competence» is clarified. It is proved that communicative competence is an integral quality of the future historian's personality, because it synthesizes the general culture of communication and specific manifestations in professional activity, it requires a clear orientation in the professional situation and choosing the most effective means of communication. The leading activity of a history specialist is conducting scientific discussions, advising political and public figures and speaking in the media. Therefore, he must have literary speech, know language etiquette, rules of use of verbal and nonverbal means of communication, the peculiarities of their use in different situations, to be a speaker who has the techniques of correct, logical, convincing speech, which will further affect his prestige and competitiveness. It is noted that the serious shortcomings of the speech behaviour of most students – future historians are the inability to read, recite and pronounce a coherent textin public, to be engaged in conversation spontaneously and support it. Many future specialists neglect the Ukrainian literary language, preferring the mixed Russian-Ukrainian dialect. They easily switch to Russian in communication, feel insecure in class and seek for the right word in a particular communicative situation for a long time. The psychological aspect of communication plays a significant role. There are cases when young people, having meaningful information, are afraid to express it publicly, feel fear, indecision, when it is necessary to supplement, correct and make adjustments. Qualitative solution of these problems is possible under the condition of orientation of student’s activity on the deep knowledge of the Ukrainian literary language, rhetoric, communicative linguistics, as then the knowledge of a specialist with higher education will be systemic, and through the system it is possible to predict corresponding development of the activity of the future specialist.

The role of the family in the career choice process is important. From the article "The psychological influence of family types on the career choice of adolescents" it follows that the process of choosing a career in adolescents who grow up in families of a democratic type is more successful than in other families. In such a family, a teenager always feels the support of the family when making his decision and confidently dominates his profession. In indifferent and overly gentle types of families, parents do not pay attention to their children and leave them alone with the problem. In an authoritarian, overprotective and cultivating family, parents do not give their children the right to speak, and the teenager is forced to choose the profession of their choice. Teens raised in an inconsistent family are often reluctant to make the right decisions when choosing a career. This creates some problems for them in the future. Key words: adolescent, age period, family, family types, career choice
