The articleт considers the specifics of modern book graphics. Outline the differences in the design of verse and prose. The scientific novelty consists in an attempt to structure the search for contemporary Ukrainian artists in the design of modern prose and poetry, to identify the main trends and identify the leading illustrators. Ukrainian book graphics are fast developing today, which is due to the demand of the Ukrainian magazines for the market, a decrease in the demand for books by Russian publishing houses, and the influence of large-scale literary fairs such as the Book Arsenal in Kyiv or Medvin in Lviv. In spite of the presence of different quality of editions, because books can be found on book shelves in the shops and not always of high professional level, for today the editions illustrated by highly professional modern Ukrainian artists, who follow the world tendencies and experiment, appear. Traditionally, classical book graphics remain in Ukraine, but artists are open to experiment. Often, illustrating verse editions, artists are striving for innovative solutions that help reveal the content of contemporary original works.

AbstractFor a long time, since China’s opening to the outside world in the late 1970s, admiration for foreign socioeconomic prosperity and quality of life characterized much of the Chinese society, which contributed to dissatisfaction with the country’s development and government and a large-scale exodus of students and emigrants to foreign countries. More recently, however, overestimating China’s standing and popularity in the world has become a more conspicuous feature of Chinese public opinion and the social backdrop of the country’s overreach in global affairs in the last few years. This essay discusses the effects of these misperceptions about the world, their potential sources, and the outcomes of correcting misperceptions. It concludes that while the world should get China right and not misinterpret China’s intentions and actions, China should also get the world right and have a more balanced understanding of its relationship with the world.

HISTORIANS OF CULTURE LOOK at Russia’s Silver Age—the period of aesthetic activity roughly between 1895 and 1915—as one of the great artistic revivals of modern history, the initial phase of what eventually became more generally known as modernism. Even more than the previous Golden Age of Pushkin, Lermontov, and other Romantic poets some sixty years earlier, this period reveals a flowering of cultural refinement rarely seen on such a broad scale. Not only writers and poets but musicians, painters, and figures in the world of theater and dance cultivated a greater sensitivity to art, which placed a premium as much on the artists’ unique personalities as on the variety and quality of the original works they produced. An early and defining emblem of the new age was Sergei Diaghilev’s lavishly illustrated ...

The right–left dimension is ubiquitous in politics, but prior perspectives provide conflicting accounts of whether cultural and economic attitudes are typically aligned on this dimension within mass publics around the world. Using survey data from ninety-nine nations, this study finds not only that right–left attitude organization is uncommon, but that it is more common for culturally and economically right-wing attitudes to correlate negatively with each other, an attitude structure reflecting a contrast between desires for cultural and economic protection vs. freedom. This article examines where, among whom and why protection–freedom attitude organization outweighs right–left attitude organization, and discusses the implications for the psychological bases of ideology, quality of democratic representation and the rise of extreme right politics in the West.

Abstract Every year, due to the salinity resulting from improper irrigation practices, almost 10 billion ha of agricultural lands across the world cannot be used. Among the main elements (cations) for salinity in regions with dry or semi-dry climate are potassium (K+), sodium (Na+), calcium (Ca+2) and magnesium (Mg+’2). Using proper irrigation methods as well as ensuring the quality of irrigation water are of great importance in terms of the salinity of agricultural soils. In this study, laboratory analyses of ground water resources for salinity parameters were conducted in the province of Yalova (Taşköprü, Çiftlikköy, and Altınova regions). In the explanation of the analysis results, variations and effects based on the level of salinity were taken into account and the role of small, meso and large scale factors were determined through the use of the wavelet model. The study results would be of use in the estimation of salinity contents of soils with respect to groundwater irrigation in agricultural areas.

The world-renowned Chinese cuisine has been handed down from generation to generation in the traditional mode of handicraft, workshop and apprenticeship, which is distorted from generation to generation. The quality of dishes in small shops is difficult to guarantee, the works of masters are difficult to replicate, economies of scale are difficult to achieve, waste of resources can not be controlled, and the plight of industrialization has not been broken through. In recent years, with the development of science and technology, especially the growing maturity of cooperative robots, the traditional catering industry has ushered in an opportunity for innovation. Through the application research of multi-joint cooperative robot in Chinese cooking scene, this paper solves the technical difficulties of large-scale mechanization of Chinese cooking, opens up the last kilometer of Chinese food industrialization, realizes the upgrading of traditional catering industry, and also enables the inheritance and innovation of Chinese cooking.

Russia occupies a leading position in the world ranking of countries with the richest natural resources, but lags behind many countries of the world in terms of living standards. Studies of Russian sociologists also suggest that, according to Russians, negative dynamics are manifested in many indicators characterizing the main areas of life of Russian society. To overcome this situation, a close study of the laws of functioning and the cyclical stages of social processes is necessary, which is impossible without reliance on socio-psychological knowledge, which is increasingly being integrated into international models for assessing the quality of life at the macro, meso- and micro- levels. Recent studies convincingly demonstrate the relationship of psychological factors with the quality of life of society, there is a realization that these factors can serve as important levers in optimizing socio-economic processes, can increase their productivity and are effective in implementing public administration programs. In modern conditions, no scientific field can give a complete answer to the question about the nature of the factors (legal, economic, social, psychological, etc.) that determine an increase in the standard of living of the population and ensure the stability of its social development. Accordingly, the optimization of the social sphere is a complex interdisciplinary problem, which, in one of its manifestations, is associated with the need to identify various historical and everyday cycles that affect the effectiveness of economic and political processes, as well as the mindset of the population. In this direction, the development of information technology creates serious opportunities for combining the efforts of representatives of the humanities, social and technical sciences, and the organization of large-scale integrated research.

Urbanization, agriculture, industrial work and greenhouse effect are the leading causes of the climatic changes all over the world. The impacts of climatic change include losses of biodiversity, rise of sea level, shifts in weather pattern, changes in fresh water supply and an increase in harsh / extreme weather conditions such as floods and droughts as well as glaciers melting and various health impacts on living organisms. It is a key concern that has been impacting human health, plants as well as animals. The concept of green revolution is based on plantation activities, increasing aforestation, decreasing deforestation, overgrazing etc. and such processes enable to protect and benefit the economy, habitat, people and planet. Plants use CO2 and other toxic materials which can persist in the environment. The findings of this study showed that plantation activities should be considered on large scale for monitoring of environmental quality. As plants act as natural lungs of Universe and release oxygen providing good quality of air. In order to mitigate problems regarding climatic changes, we need to minimize the different types of environmental pollutants and to maximize the plantation activities to overcome the climatic changes all over the world.

Year 2019, the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements, is of special value for our country. 150 years ago, in 1869, the outstanding Russian scientist D.I. Mendeleev published the first scheme of the Periodic table of chemical elements. The International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements draws the world community attention to the development of fundamental sciences, to deepening and expansion of education for sustainable development, to global problems that cannot be solved without active use of achievements of modern green chemistry. The quality of everyday life of present and future generations is directly connected with the progress and achievements of chemical science and technology. In 2019, the large-scale events dedicated to D.I. Mendeleev and his scientific heritage will take place both in Russia and throughout the world The International Year of the Periodic Table once again emphasizes the importance of the systematicity in our chaotic world. The System gives an opportunity to understand the idea of regularity and thus arms human beings with the ability to predict.

This descriptive analytical study aimed at examining the application of linguistic-based functional approaches in assessing the quality of translation. A number of translation quality assessment models were analyzed to investigate the potential of integrating linguistic theories into translation theories. The problem that the present study tackled was that institutions of translation at higher education, translation organizations, and agencies of translation worldwide face difficulties in evaluating the quality of translation. Using objective criteria, which are based on the variables of quality, is still debated among these shareholders. The rationale of the present study is that adopting functional linguistic approaches can help in understanding the components of the quality of translation in terms of the relationship between translation purposes and functional adequacy. Linguistic functional approaches can determine the relationship between textual adequacy, and translation quality of content. Therefore, the current study followed a nonlinear design, which allowed an intensive description and analysis of three functional models applied in Translation Quality Assessment (TQA), and their effectiveness in assessing the quality of translation. Corpus data was collected from the theories and original works of House, Nord, and Colina, on translation quality assessment. Problems related to discourse analysis, function of the language, text typology, and theories of equivalence were examined. Translation criticism and evaluation including the classification of the functional hierarchy of translation, standards and benchmarks, empirical evidence for the success and limitations of the linguistic functionalist approaches in translation assessment, and competences and performances in translation, were thoroughly investigated. The research recommendations of the current study emphasize a number of issues relevant to translation evaluation. These issues are: (a) the significance of integrating the linguistic functional approaches into the curriculum of translation; (b) the importance of defining the components of solid criteria that can be employed for evaluating the quality of translations; and (c) the necessity of providing an empirical tool that can reveal the strengths and weaknesses of translated works. As such, this research study is a contribution in the field of translation evaluation and criticism as it provides a number of models that can be implemented in translation classrooms or in translation organizations. This study also provides an evaluation matrix, based on the models of TQA that can help translators understand the requirements of translation quality prior to the translation process itself. This research is also among the first studies to illustrate how to implement linguistic functional approaches that can be adopted by translation organizations, academic institutions, and publishing houses, to evaluate professional translations and this will inevitably lead to raising the standards of translation quality.

Abstract Red deer farming has started to play a greater role in modern agriculture and today is an interesting alternative for pig or cattle breeders. With regard to the low effort and high efficiency of maintenance, it may be expected that keeping these animals in fenced enclosures will be more popular over time. This trend is warranted by the fact that the demand on two main deer products: venison and antlers, is constantly rising, due to the quality of deer meat and prices of antler hunting trophies. Several countries of the world have already realized the scale of advantages to be derived from deer farming and today are world leaders in this area. Despite this expansion, the market still remains opened for deer products. Poland is a country with the climatic conditions, vast plain areas and varied vegetation that are fully sufficient to undertake large-scale deer farming, and to become a European leader. Therefore the aim of this review is to detail deer farming within the Polish framework and environmental conditions, and to illustrate its potential in sustainable modern agriculture and the economy.
