The research community includes child-friendly schools in Baghdad / Al-Rusafa, which are (107) and distributed among their general directorates of education. The research sample was randomly selected from the parents of the sixth grade students in a random way, and they numbered (80) guardians (students) by (40) males and (40) females)) divided equally by gender between child-friendly schools and regular schools. In the current research, the researcher adopted the (School Violence) Scale prepared by (Mohammed et al. 2014). To identify the level of school violence, the t-test was used for one sample, and it became clear that the difference between the two means is not statistically significant at the significance level (0.05). The t-test was used for two independent samples which indicates that there are no differences statistically significant for the school type variable. To identify the relationship between school violence and academic achievement among primary students, there was no statistical significance for the t-value of the correlation coefficient between school violence and academic achievement ‎.

The teaching and learning of fractions have been getting public attention since it is one of the most problematic topics among primary and secondary students. This study aims to investigate to what extent the primary school pupils apply fractional strategies to solve problems on number line. This study was conducted using a qualitative methodology. The data were collected from task-based clinical interviews. The subjects of this study were selected among the Year Five students in Malaysia. A total of eight students participated in this study. This study revealed three types of fractional strategies. They are (1) finding an interval in fractions on number line, (2) applying concepts of decimal and interchange with fraction, and (3) comparing values of fractions. The findings showed achieving fractions arithmetic proficiency is crucial in developing the knowledge of fraction magnitude representations on the number line.

The present study aims to identify the influence of the gap between educational goals and the content of social material books for the primary stage on national awareness. To achieve the objectives, the descriptive approach is adopted. After collecting the research data, classifying them, and treating them using the statistical program (spss), the present study found: 1) The content of social subjects does not cover the practical aspects of the educational objectives in the expected or appropriate manner for contemporary educational philosophy. 2) Promotion of national awareness and values and their desired dimensions of teaching these subjects is weak. Accordingly, the two researchers recommend that it is necessary to really include and represent general educational goals in the content of social books.

NEEDS ANALYSIS IN SOCIAL SCIENCE LEARNING AT PRIMARY SCHOOLThis study was aimed at exploring the obstacles and the needs in teaching social science at the primary school level. A descriptive approach method was used in this study. The data was obtained by observing the learning process, analyzing the teaching materials and media in learning, and analyzing the students’ test scores. The study was conducted for 5 months starting from April 2017 to August 2017. The collected data were examined by triangulation techniques to determine the relationship and comparability of the data. Data were then analyzed using the interactive-miles analysis according to Miles Huberman. The results show that the hand books were not interesting enough as there were too many theories but few pictures which would not encourage students to think critically; teachers tended to adopt a teacher-centered approach of teaching in which they dominated the class with their explanation and there were limited interactive sessions; the students tended to memorize more than master the theories; having limited teaching medias, the teachers made the learning process become abstract, while primary-school students needed to have activities which encouraged their way of thinking from concrete into abstract. An innovation which suits primary school students’ character is needed to create a meaningful learning process.

The topic of this study was the research of the connection between the active participation of primary school students in school sport clubs and their relation towards school violence. The goal of this study was to determine the level of connection between the participation of students in school clubs, their exposure to violence in school and reaction to violence. In this study we start from the supposition that the participation of primary school students in school sport clubs is predominantly connected with the diminishing of their exposure to the violence in school and their readiness to help students who suffer from violence. In this research we applied the descriptive-analytical method and survey as research techniques. The research was realized in the first term of 2015/2016 school year and it included 236 students in the seventh and eighth grade of primary school “Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj” in Svilajnac. In this work, a special instrument was applied prepared only for this research -the survey about the connection of school sport clubs and violence at school. In the quantitative analysis of the data the following was applied: the percentage expression of frequencies and Pearson’s hi-square test (χ2) for testing the hypothesis about the significance of the differences. The main results of this research showed that most non-sport students have no affirmative attitude towards inclusion school sport clubs, (b) students who are involved in school sport activities are less exposed to violence in school and they are more ready to help those students who are more exposed to violence.

Numerous studies have found an association of educational aspirations of parents and children with their school achievement. The study verifies these relationships for about 5,000 people, a representative sample of parents and their children-primary school students. Three aspects of aspirations were taken into account: the maximum (desired), the feasible (expected) and the lowest acceptable. Expected aspirations of parents are mostly related to the achievements of children; students’ achievements are associated with both their feasible and maximum aspirations. There was a significant relationship between aspirations of parents and children and a strong correlation between parental aspirations and their level of education.
