This paper presents a research study in developing lesson plans for differentiated learning or adaptive learning using "lesson" on Moodle LMS platform. The lesson are to provide learning paths based on inquiring category from Laurillard Conversational Framework. The design of various learning paths provide teaching methods used in class such as videos, quizzes and reading tasks. This lesson when planned using flowcharts would guide the instructors to link the topics and assessment in any order that would promote students' self-paced and self-learning experience.

AbstractGiven their increasing diffusion, deep learning networks have long been considered an important subject on which teaching efforts should be concentrated, to support a fast and effective training. In addition to that role, the availability of rich data coming from several sources underlines the potential of neural networks used as an analysis tool to identify critical aspects, plan upgrades and adjustments, and ultimately improve learning experience. Analysis and forecasting methods have been widely used in this context, allowing policy makers, managers and educators to make informed decisions. The capabilities of recurring neural networks—in particular Long Short-Term Memory networks—in the analysis of natural language have led to their use in measuring the similarity of educational materials. Massive Online Open Courses provide a rich variety of data about the learning behaviors of online learners. The analysis of learning paths provides insights related to the optimization of learning processes, as well as the prediction of outcomes and performance. Another active area of research concerns the recommendation of suitable personalized, adaptive, learning paths, based on varying sources, including even the tracing of eye-path movements. In this way, the transition from passive learning to active learning can be achieved. Challenges and opportunities in the application of neural networks in the educational sector are presented.

This paper describes an innovative and sophisticated approach for improving learner-computer interaction in the tutoring of Java programming through the delivery of adequate learning material to learners. To achieve this, an instructional theory and intelligent techniques are combined, namely the Component Display Theory along with content-based filtering and multiple-criteria decision analysis, with the intention of providing personalized learning material and thus, improving student interaction. Until now, the majority of the research efforts mainly focus on adapting the presentation of learning material based on students’ characteristics. As such, there is free space for researching issues like delivering the appropriate type of learning material, in order to maintain the pedagogical affordance of the educational software. The blending of instructional design theories and sophisticated techniques can offer a more personalized and adaptive learning experience to learners of computer programming. The paper presents a fully operating intelligent educational software. It merges pedagogical and technological approaches for sophisticated learning material delivery to students. Moreover, it was used by undergraduate university students to learn Java programming for a semester during the COVID-19 lockdown. The findings of the evaluation showed that the presented way for delivering the Java learning material surpassed other approaches incorporating merely instructional models or intelligent tools, in terms of satisfaction and knowledge acquisition.

Diversifying learning practices and situations helps learners to better regulate their learning with deep understanding, which improves learning outcomes. Accordingly, this paper presents our vision of a differentiation system of learning paths within MOOC. Promising beginning point for this vision would be to determine new factors that directly affect the success rate. Then, we introduce the theoretical framework of differentiated instruction, which represents the key component of the proposed system. Finally, we implement some key concepts in differentiation and some techniques for assigning learners into groups in order to differentiate learning paths. The main purpose of the proposed contribution is to optimize learning situations of each learner according to his needs. As a result reducing the proportion of learners in a situation of failure and thereby improving the success rate.

In an age where everything has become more Visual and access to technology and its devices has increased significantly, there is a need to bring about a radical change in how education is imparted and delivered. Using modern age technology, we can not only save resources and time but also make learning more interactive and attractive. This research study was undertaken to ascertain which methodology of teaching works best in the modern-day scenario. Two studies were undertaken.In the first study, a test was conducted on a group of 40 students of the school who were experimented with by delivering lessons in both modern and traditional teaching methods. After analyzing the results, it was observed that the modern way of teaching is a better source of imparting knowledge as it engages the students and makes them want to learn more. In the second study, increased use of the internet and a subsequent rise in online education portals is observed, thereby proving that the modern way of teaching holds the key to a better future in the field of education.

In-Touch is an adaptive learning technology, which extends the learning experience beyond the classroom hours and environment for unconventional learners. It serves as a safe online space for students to receive customized help from their teachers. It also mediates and promotes conversation between parents and teachers. In-Touch integrates three elements crucial to promoting success of unconventional learners: on demand help, student-centered approach, and confidence-building. For the purpose of the study, unconventional learners were defined as someone who does not learn in the methods that are currently offered in traditional classrooms. The design of In-Touch is based on a pilot study that considered the needs of parents and teachers who are raising and teaching unconventional learners

Group work can provide a valuable learning experience, one that is especially relevant for those preparing to enter the information system workforce. While much has been discussed about effective means of delivering the benefits of collaborative learning in groups, there are some problems that arise due to pragmatic environmental factors such as the part time work commitments of students. This study has identified a range of problems and reports on a longitudinal Action Research study in two universities (in Australia and the USA). Over three semesters problems were identified and methods trialled using collaborative tools. Several promising solutions are presented to the identified problems, including the use of video tutorials and commentary using screen recordings as a means of providing feedback to students.

In recent years, the learning efficacy of online to offline (O2O) teaching methods seems to outperform traditional teaching methods in the field of education. Students can use a small private online course (SPOC) teaching platform to preview class-related materials, learn basic knowledge, and enhance the practical experience of system development in offline courses. The research team applied an artificial intelligence (AI) precision education strategy to design a teaching experiment that evaluated whether this approach may lead to better learning outcomes. In addition to questionnaire surveys to ascertain students' attitudes toward and their satisfaction with learning, this study employed in-depth interviews to understand a potential influence on changes in teachers' curriculum design and teaching approaches when SPOCs was integrated into the traditional university classroom, as well as the impact of the AI precision education model. The results showed that the AI precision education model may facilitate students' learning experience and enhance student achievement.

Academic success is a popular topic of psychological and pedagogical studies, but such studies usually emphasize factors that affect academic success or variables associated with it.What constitutes academic success remains an open question if at all posited.Researchers tend to use simplified operationalizations, mainly the academic performance, and ignore the students’ point of view.The purpose of this study is to clarify students’ perceptions of academic success.A qualitative analysis of in-depth interviews about learning experience was conducted.The study involved 20 students from various Moscow universities who completed their first academic year (aged 17—42).The technique of reflective thematic analysis was applied.Main themes are the following: “Performance” (learning is considered successful if grades are high and there are no academic troubles), “Knowledge” (learning is successful if the curriculum is being assimilated, or professional knowledge increasing, of one’s horizons are expanding), “Sense of self” (learning is considered successful if there is interest in studying, enthusiasm, as well as internal comfort and/or self-development).Themes are arranged in a sequence, moving from external criteria to internal ones.A number of contradictions are found in the informants’ perceptions of success.In the continuum of themes, different understandings of success are attributed to different instances (university, profession, life activities, Self) and allow us to see the diversity and inconsistency of higher education meanings that explain the observed paradoxes.

Assessment methods and the ownership of learning in Physical Education remain, in most cases, as highly traditional practices which do not fully allow students to be active and enthusiastic participants in the process of learning physical skills and health related knowledge. This study focuses on the improvements of student accountability and ownership for learning in Physical Education classes when traditional grading is removed and a year-level-only curriculum is replaced with a developmental learning continuum. The context of this study is to identify the relationship between student motivation, interest in learning, and the accountability to reach set goals when grade rewards are replaced with clear descriptions of student performance and development along a schema of skills and knowledge in PE. The research of our project will determine that the modifications made to the process of teaching and learning has improved the learning experience of our test subjects. The study has proven that when traditional grading is removed and students have the opportunity for true differentiated learning, they demonstrate far more intrinsic motivation in their learning. The students have taken grater ownership over their development and have become more accountable for their own process of learning. To truly unlock the potential of each child, we educators need to support our students to be risk takers who are inquiring and reflective.

Blended learning (BL) can be regarded as a teaching approach that combines online and face-to-face method of instructions in which it integrates the conventional classroom teaching with a combination of media, tools and teaching methods in web-based environment settings. Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) has been implementing blended learning since 2016 on selected courses offered. The implementation of blended learning was carried out in four levels comprising of information dissemination, online assessment, flipped teaching and adaptive learning. The objectives of this study are to investigate students' awareness towards blended learning implementation and to measure their level of satisfaction on the courses they registered.
