AbstractDigital transformation requires the field of education to increasingly deal with the interplay between the teachers’ individual development of digital competence and institutional integration and adoption of digital technology. This is especially crucial in the vocational education context, which is closer to the world of work and, therefore, more sensitive to the disruptive changes of digitalisation. This chapter addresses this issue by proposing the result of a project that aimed to identify a new professional profile in the context of dual vocational education in Switzerland. The Digital Facilitator is a new term that refers to a teacher with advanced digital competency who is an expert in facilitating digital innovation adoption within educational institutions. Thus, it constitutes a possible concrete way to address the issue of integrating the individual and the organisational perspectives related to digital transformation. The profile is discussed by presenting an analysis of acknowledged existing frameworks and by considering the specificities of the context in which it was developed. The opportunities and challenges associated with introducing the profile are also critically addressed.

The digital transformation will lead to a reorganization of the occupational world. Educational institutions play an important role in this context, as they train the future workforce. This raises the question of how vocational schools are already responding to changes in the world of work today? Does Artificial Intelligence and automation play a role and if so, which one? These and other questions are addressed in this article based on an online survey of German vocational school teachers. The survey was conducted through the European Taccle AI project.

The paper is devoted to the consideration of the stages of development of training the specialists in the food and processing industry in vocational schools of the second half of the XX - beginning of the XXI century. In this paper there are considered the peculiarities of the development of the food and processing industry in the postwar years in Ukraine, in particular in the western regions, during the period of industrialization, when the agenda was solving problems in the field of education, health care. The food industry of the western regions in that period was represented by sugar industry, meat - processing, dairy, fruit and vegetable, baking, flour-grinding, confectionery industries. The sugar industry, which worked on local raw materials, was especially actively developed. Industrialization in the western regions of Ukraine in the postwar period had its own peculiarities. First, there are recorded faster rates of industrial growth than in other regions of Ukraine. Secondly, new industries appeared. In the region, the most intensive production was observed. The limited number of vocational training units for educating qualified mid-level specialists prevented the development of the food industry. In this regard, the advanced representatives of the local scientific and technological elite began to take measures to start vocational schools. The establishment of educational institutions oriented at the training the specialists of the food industry in Ukraine is inextricably linked with the development of the sugar industry. Vocational education of Ukraine is directly related to the socio-economic development of the state. Based on the main stages of economic development in the state, changes in vocational education have been analyzed. The periodization of the history of the professional training of future specialists in the food and processing industry in vocational schools of the western regions of Ukraine (second half of the XX century – the beginning of the XXI century) was accomplished, and the main directions of changes for each period are considered.

Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 are reshaping the way organizations function and interact with the communities they serve. The massive penetration of computer and network applications forces organizations to digitalize their processes and provide innovative products, services, and business models. The education market is suffering changes as well, but universities seem slow to react. This paper proposes the application of an integrated digital transformation model to assess the maturity level that educational institutions have in their digital transformation processes and compares them to other industries. Particular considerations to address when using the model for higher-education institutions are discussed. Our results show that universities fall behind other sectors, probably due to a lack of effective leadership and changes in culture. This is complemented negatively by an insufficient degree of innovation and financial support.

The People's Republic of China (PRC) announced its ‘Open Door’ in 1980. Foreign investors have started up their enterprises in China largely with the help of imported expertise — top executives, management personnel, and even technicians in these companies are, with the exception of a few senior managers assigned by Chinese partners, very predominantly expatriates. In addition, educational institutions in the PRC have long been criticized for their failure to provide expertise for economic growth. Reforms in higher vocational education are needed in order for China to cope with her economic growth beyond 2000.

The fractal pattern is a highly visual aesthetic image. This article describes the generation method of Mandelbrot set to generate fractal art patterns. Based on the escape time algorithm on complex plane, the visual aesthetic fractal patterns are generated from Mandelbrot sets. The generated program development, a pictorial information system, is integrated through the application of Visual Basic programming language and development integration environment. Application of the development program, this article analyzes the shape of the fractal patterns generated by the different power orders of the Mandelbrot sets. Finally, the escape time algorithm has been proposed as the generation tools of highly visual aesthetic fractal patterns.
