Allah (swt) has elevated man to the highest position in all creation, and bestwed upon him the bounty of reason and knowledge. An in depth study of knowledge itself reveals that, there are two forms and ranks of knowledge in the universe; one is the divinely revealed instintintive level of awareness about reality, and the other is the earned and learned behavoiur based upon knowledge, that is gained through urge, effort and experience. Human beings, apart from the innate divine blessing of knowledge, learns through sense experience, reason and intuitive thinking. The higher form of knowledge is divinely transmission through revelation to the Prophets. The heavenly revealed knowledge has been preserved by human being in the form of Sacred Books; especially a body of knowledge about reality in the form of religion, namely in the Holy Bible and the Holy Qur’an.

In the article the author analyzes the phenomenon of Russian cosmism and shows its difference from other possible varieties of cosmism. The author understands Russian cosmism as the idea of extending the definition of the universe by the human beings. A human being doesn’t simply have his place in history, on the Earth and in space, but also broadens it by means of his material and spiritual actions. The idea of the world broadening was popular among Russian naturalists in the 19th and the 20th centuries. The most prominent figures among the Russian cosmism followers were N.F. Fedorov and K. E. Tsiolkovsky. The author distinguishes three directions in the history of Russian cosmism – religious, natural-scientific and artistic-poetical. According to the author, only after Gagarin’s space flight the idea of Russian Icaria transferred itself into Russian cosmism. The article studies the sources of Russian cosmism and explains the meaning of anthropocosmism. The author arrives at the conclusion that Russian cosmism offers its own approach to solving modern global problems that differs from the ideas in the reports to the Roman club.

Abstract

The real being in the Islamic thought is only one and it is Allah, the Almighty. All other beings have come to existence through the gradational manifestation (tajalli), condescension (tanazzul) and effusion (tafayyud) of the Transcendental Being (Zat Muta'al). A variety of symbols has been utilised to describe the transition of the being from oneness to plurality, from subtlety (latafa) to grossness (kasafa) and from truth (haqiqa) to metaphor (majaz), In this regard some symbolisms prevail such as of reality and shadow, of seed and tree, of point and letter,

The Point (noqtah) is the beginning of the writing (of the word). A book consists of sentences formed by words made up of letters which originate singly from a point. Thus the point constitutes the start and essence of the word and the source of the knowledge. Furthermore, the point is the commencement of the being as well. In other words, it is the initial source and outlet of the universe. It is eventually identical to human being. As essence it is immanent in all beings in addition to forming the beginning.

The tradition of defining the being through the symbolism of the point which dates back to Ibn Arabi has been maintained by Ottoman sufi thinkers in the subsequent eras. One of them, Muhyî al-din al-Rumi (d. ca. 946 AH), a sheikh of Khalwatiyya sufi order authored several treatises in which he makes use of abovementioned symbolisms. In the treatise titled Tamthil Noqtah he focuses on the symbolism of the point. In his works he explains the matters by drawing some geometrical shapes such as circles which one in the other, besides speaking of them through prose and poetry.

This study firstly deals with the symbolism of the point and then provides an examination of the said work of Muhyî, Tamthil Noqtah, followed by a Turkish transliteration of it.

Temsîl-i Nokta risâlesi de bunlardan nokta sembolizmine yoğunlaşmıştır. Fakat o eserlerinde sembolün daha iyi anlaşılabilmesi için nesir ve manzum bir yazım tarzı yanında iç içe geçmiş daireler ve şekiller çizerek konuyu anlatma yolunu tutmuştur.

The contemplation of God’s creation is one of the greatest forms of worship in Islam every human being, when he observes the different scenes of this universe of colors and smells, enjoys seeing some of them so much that he longs to repeat this pleasure۔ It is not amazing, therefore, that countless Quranic verses give confidence this action and do so using a range of methods to appeal to every temperament and religious state. The mean is to switch people away from their dulled senses, awful habits, and monotonous familiarity, and encourage them to observe the signs of their Lord in the world with insight and vulnerable hearts. True Islamic contemplation can only spring from a mind that believes in God and a mind that submits to Him and His glorious Attributes. This is the unwavering faith of oneness (tawhÏd), which is to bear witness that the Almighty is the One and only God Who created, governs, and maintain the universe. Any other form of contemplation of the attractiveness and brilliance of the heavens and the earth would be measured atheism or polytheism (shirk) because the contemplator would not be distinguished, let alone admiring and express thanks to the Creator. In all religions, after beliefs, the highest importance is given to worship. Worship and contemplation are inseparable.

As the Taoist culture contains extremely abundant thoughts about ecological protection, this paper is intended to discuss the thoughts of ecological protection manifested in Taoist culture only from the universe philosophy view of “the law of the Tao is its being what it is”, the life care view of “attaching importance to life and cherishing life”, the ecological balance view of “nature, earth & human beings living in peace with each other”, the harmonious universe view of “nature & human being in harmony”. The discussion expects to enlighten human beings to absorb valuable ecological wisdom from Taoist thoughts about ecological protection and accomplish their transformation and recreation in modern sense.

e paper aims at discussing the ecological implications of the understanding of the human being in the Classical Chinese thought. The study consists of three main parts. In the first one, the peculiarities of the Chinese thought as a philosophy of dynamism are discussed. I argue that in contrast to the Western thought, where the main ontological question is connected with the issue of essence and the epistemological approach is based on the opposition of subject and object, the Chinese thought reveals reality in terms of dynamism, where the most important concepts are these of processes, relations and transformations. In the second part, I analyse the place of human beings in this dynamic universe in terms of three different perspectives: (i) their relations; (ii) their actions/interactions; and (iii) their value. I point out that it is the harmony that could be defined as the most privileged position in the Chinese universe. In the third part, I discuss two main kinds of ecologically wise behaviour of human beings that are in accordance with the dynamic nature of the universe: (i) the Confucian idea of the outer harmonisation of the human society with the patterns of transformation in the Universe and (ii) the Daoist idea of the inner achievement of the pivot of transformation within oneself. In the conclusion, I outline the idea that the combination of inner and outer activity of harmonisation with reality could be used as an example of wise ecological behaviour and attitude to nature. The work on the paper is part of an individual project “Perception of Eastern Teachings in Europe” funded by the European Union through the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action, Horizon 2020, grant No. 753561.

“As khalifa, God assigned to manage nature, but in fact some of them actually, exploiting natural results that ultimately lead to natural disasters all over the places. To refine and guide human intellect and moral management, religion was revealed. Some of religion 'primitive', called animist believes that the universe does have a soul, when the soul is in existence disturbed then they would be angry, and it will harm human beings, this is actually quite similar to what is being taught other religions, especially Islam . Where is the anger of nature that was the result of human action itself.”

This research is on human courage and dignity in Ernest J. Gainess novel, A Lesson Before Dying. People are able to face threat, pain, danger, or even death in order to maintain their right and dignity relying on courage. This is library research and applies mimetic criticism proposed by Abrams saying that a work of literature is the imitation of the real world. It depicts human being who struggles to maintain and get acknowledgement of their right and dignity to live in respect and worth. The analysis focused on how courage and dignity raise someone who is desperated into brave and thoughtful to face his death. He is desperated because of a false accusision of being a murderer, compared as a hog, and sentenced to death in electric chair. Comparing to a hog makes him lost his courage and self-esteem. He eliminates himself and does not want to speak with others. His godmother disagrees with it and asks a teacher to teach him that he is a human being and should die as a human being too. Then, he is taught by a teacher of moral and obligation to face his death courageously and show that he is a human being who has duty and responsibility. Finally, he is able to sacrifice his death as a symbol of his courage and dignity to himself, his family and community. It is found that the author Ernest J Gains through the novel has vividly portrayed human beings who have courage are able to maintain and get acknowledgement of their right and dignity although they have to face threat, pain, danger, or even death.
