The general level of nutrition of the population of Ukraine was studied. The degree of satisfaction of physiological nutritional needs was studied through the main indicators of food quality — energy and protein. As the starting point for this, the Standards for the physiological needs of the population of Ukraine in the main nutrients and energy and the annual statistics were taken. The analysis of the results showed that during the years 2010-2016 the index of physiological norm of consumption of food energy should be in the range of 2457-2380 kcal, in average 2400 kcal. Indicators for protein should be 75,7-75,9 g and 75,4 g respectively. The actual indices for providing physiological nutritional needs for energy and protein were 2983-2742, 2905 kcal, 87,5-84,1, 87,5 g. respectively. The energy-protein ratio during the years 2010-2016 normally should be in the amount of 31,5-31,7 and an average of 31,8 kcal/g. The actual values were at the level of 34,1-32,6 and 33,2 respectively. The indicator of protein-energy ratio, for the years 2010-2016, should normally be in the range of 30,8-31,5 and in average 31,4 g/1000 kcal. Actual values were at the level of 29,3-32,6 and 30,1 g /1000 kcal respectively. The actual average energy-protein ratio was higher for 4,4 percent, while the protein-energy ratio was 4,1 percent lower. The values of the energy-protein and protein-energy ratio indicate the level of physiological fullness of the diet. The obtained results can be used as one of the possible approaches for analyzing the overall quality of the population's nutrition. Key Words: nutrition, energy, protein, physiological norms, energy-protein ratio, protein-energy ratio.

Abstract Objectives Our goal is to evaluate the current dietary offerings available for residents, survey how this food selection impacts their overall wellness, and measure any effect gained from broadening the current nutritional choices available. Methods An anonymous, paper survey about GME nutrition selection was distributed to residents during a dedicated wellness hour. The surveys were collected and analyzed as follows. The z-test for proportions was performed to determine the proportion of residents who answered yes or no to the resident lounge snack survey questionnaires. The first question was on snack satisfaction was a response on a scale of 1–10 and is presented as means with confidence interval. A chi-squared test was performed to see if there is a correlation between resident snack satisfaction and yes or no responses to survey questions on dietary restriction, limited choices, nutritional needs, sugar crash, patient advice, home food quality and nutritional for wellness. The last two questions were written responses and were tabulated and enumerated for responses falling into respective food categories. Results All residents’ (100%) surveyed responded, “yes” to the nutritional wellness. While the “Yes” responses to home food quality, diet restriction, limited choices, and sugar crash were 8.3%, 20.8%, 25% and 58.3%, respectively. All residents surveyed (100%) responded “No” to the nutritional needs and patient advice. The mean snack satisfaction score was 4, 95% CI [3.32–4.68]. Only home food quality was found to be significantly related to resident satisfaction (P < 0.05). The most popular response to the suggestion list for GME snacks were fruit (n = 6) and jerky (n = 5). The most popular response to the Do Not Need List for GME Snack Area were no response (n = 9), cookies (n = 6) and chips (n = 6). Conclusions Residents prefer healthy snacks such as fruit and do not want unhealthy snacks like cookies and chips. There is an association between resident's snack satisfaction on the current snack choices and the home food quality. Funding Sources n/a.

The paper presents the results of research related to the examination of the relationship between education that adults undertake in their free time, on the one hand, and the scope, degree and manner in which they self-affirm in their leisure time on the other. By self-affirmation we mean the realization or actualization of oneself as a single being through the degree of satisfaction of various needs relevant from the point of view of personality integration. The notion of self-affirmation understood in this way, viewed in the context of leisure time, represents a constituent of the quality of leisure time in adulthood. Specifically, this paper presents the results related to the examination of the general level of the self-affirmation in leisure time, as well as the contribution of educational activities to self-affirmation in leisure time. The most significant of them advocate the existence of a universal need for self-affirmation in leisure time. More specifically, they concern self-affirmation in the context, of emotional well-being, commitment to the activities, in which adults choose to engage themselves in their leisure time and creativity. According to the dimensions of self-affirmation, the largest number of surveyed participants of educational activites is self-affirmed in the in the cognitive, yet the smallest number, in the emotional sence.

A great number of cheese dairies and dairy industries in Greece are disposing their wastes, mainly cheese whey, either on land or in surface receivers, in large quantities creating a major environmental problem. A typical agricultural and pastoral provincial town of 70,000 inhabitants, Trikala, became the starting point of this research. A co-treatment of the urban sewage and the dairy wastes in the municipal treatment plant was recommended. The successful application of the above statement is based primarily on the pretreatment of the cheese dairies wastes. So far for cheese whey the recovery of the lactose serum in the contemporary central unit applying membrane technology has been suggested. As far as the wastewaters of the washing and refrigeration are concerned a pretreatment is required for the defatting in a grease trap, the grating, the adjustment of pH and the equalisation in an appropriate tank. Finally, this research has also focussed on the importance of membrane technology in improving the quality of milk and cheese production.

Abstractlearning process  good teaching  can create a situation that allows children to learn, so that is the starting point of the success of teaching. The low quality of education depends on the management of the teaching and learning process which can be interpreted as being less effective in the teaching and learning process, the causes: (1) Low learning activities, (2) Inadequate facilities and infrastructure. The case in Solok City Middle School, the low level of student learning activities allegedly influenced the low student learning outcomes. Based on observations on class VIII A which included the superior class had not yet achieved the desired completeness, the class with the least completeness was class VIII B which was 33.33% with KKM 65 criteria. Seeing this reality, teachers were required to motivate students and foster enthusiasm student learning. Therefore, to foster students' enthusiasm for learning, the author tries to apply student learning activities through discussion methods in small groups.

Perianal hyperhidrosis (HH) is a rare form of primary focal HH and may become a major problem for the patient with a significant psychosocial burden and negative impact on the quality of life. Botulinum toxin injections are widely used as a second-line treatment option for axillary, palmar, and plantar HH with a good safety profile. Herein, we present a case of primary perianal HH successfully treated with Botulinum toxin A at a dose higher than that previously reported in literature, with a longer response, a higher degree of satisfaction, and no adverse effects. Moreover, we review the main aspects of the perianal anatomy that are essential to carry out the technique correctly and make dermatologists achieve expertise with the procedure.

Carbohydrate-containing crops provide the bulk of dietary energy worldwide. In addition to their various carbohydrate forms (sugars, starches, fibers) and ratios, these foods may also contain varying amounts and combinations of proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, prebiotics, and anti-nutritional factors that may impact diet quality and health. Currently, there is no standardized or unified way to assess the quality of carbohydrate foods for the overall purpose of improving diet quality and health outcomes, creating an urgent need for the development of metrics and tools to better define and classify high-quality carbohydrate foods. The present report is based on a series of expert panel meetings and a scoping review of the literature focused on carbohydrate quality indicators and metrics produced over the last 10 years. The report outlines various approaches to assessing food quality, and proposes next steps and principles for developing improved metrics for assessing carbohydrate food quality. The expert panel concluded that a composite metric based on nutrient profiling methods featuring inputs such as carbohydrate–fiber–sugar ratios, micronutrients, and/or food group classification could provide useful and informative measures for guiding researchers, policymakers, industry, and consumers towards a better understanding of carbohydrate food quality and overall healthier diets. The identification of higher quality carbohydrate foods could improve evidence-based public health policies and programming—such as the 2025–2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Electric light in buildings may provide some health benefits; however, for most people these benefits are likely to be small. It is possible for electric lighting to cause health problems, if there is too little light or there is glare, but for the most part there is good guidance available and these problems can be avoided. The quality of the lit environment can have a psychological impact and this may in turn impact well-being. A starting point for this is perceived adequacy of illumination. Related lighting metrics are examined and a hypothetical explanation is suggested.
