Katuk leaf (Sauropus Androgynus) is a kind of green leafy vegetable which has many benefits for the community, one of which is to treat heartburn, fever, earache, and yaws. Vitamins contained in Sauropus Androgynus and are useful for the body, one of which is vitamin C. Vitamin C has properties that are easily damaged against heat, and easily dissolve in water. This study aims to look at vitamin C levels in fresh, steamed and boiled Sauropus Androgynus by the UV-Vis Spectrophotometry method. Determination of vitamin C levels with this method is relatively inexpensive and good in accuracy. The results obtained with 30 samples with an average level of vitamin C in fresh Sauropus Androgynus 0.0036%, Sauropus Androgynus steamed 0, and Sauropus Androgynus boiled 0.0032%. It can be concluded that the vitamin C levels of boiled Sauropus Androgynus do not decrease significantly, compared to the levels of Vitamin C on freshSauropus Androgynus. the result is different from the Sauropus Androgynus that are steamed vitamin C levels become zero mg

Background: Vitamin C is a vitamin that is water soluble qnd one vitamin that are needed by the body. To meet the intake of vitamin C needed source of vitamin a derived from fruits, one of which is banana. Part of the banana , which is still rarely used is its skin. Banana peel is very beneficial for health however the situation is only considered as waste that has not been utilized well. This study aims to determine the levels of vitamin C on the skin of the banana (Musa paradisiaca) by the method of spectrofotometry uv-visible wavelength 224,5 nm. Method: This research use experimental with purely research stage comprise sample preparation, qualitative test, making the solution of the parent raw, quantitative test, determination of wavelength of maximum vitamin and creation of calibration surve. Result: Based on the research that has been done obtained the result of the qualitative test to prove the presence of high content of vitamin C contained in banana peels, with the highest level obtained in the skin of the plantain by 0,0253 mg/ml and the levels of the lowest on a banana peel the wax by 0,0172 ng/ml. Discussion: Levels of vitamin C on the skin of the banana  barangan of 0, 0219 mg/ml, sample a banana skin banten by 0, 0173 mg/ml, sample a banana peel wax by 0, 0172 mg/ml and sample the skin of plantain by 0, 0253 mg/ml.

It has been demonstrated that cross sections of bundles of hair can be effectively studied using image analysis. These studies can help to elucidate morphological differences of hair from one region of the body to another. The purpose of the present investigation was to use image analysis to determine whether morphological differences could be demonstrated between male and female human Caucasian terminal scalp hair.Hair samples were taken from the back of the head from 18 caucasoid males and 13 caucasoid females (Figs. 1-2). Bundles of 50 hairs were processed for cross-sectional examination and then analyzed using Prism Image Analysis software on a Macintosh llci computer. Twenty morphological parameters of size and shape were evaluated for each hair cross-section. The size parameters evaluated were area, convex area, perimeter, convex perimeter, length, breadth, fiber length, width, equivalent diameter, and inscribed radius. The shape parameters considered were formfactor, roundness, convexity, solidity, compactness, aspect ratio, elongation, curl, and fractal dimension.

The needed of Iron Tablet in pregnancy was increase than mother who not pregnant.  That  cause of  high metabolism at the pregnancy for formed of  fetal organ and energy. One of effort for prevent anemia in mother pregnant with giving the Iron tablet and vitamin c. The reason of  this research in 4 June – 11 July 2014 is for compare the effect of  iron tablet suplementation with and without vitamin C toward Hemoglobin level in mother pregnant With Gestational Age Of 16-32 Weeks In Desa Keniten Kecamatan Mojo Kabupaten Kediri. This research method using comparative analytical.  Research design type of Quasy Eksperiment that have treatment group and control group. Treatment group will giving by Iron tablet and 100 mg vitamin C, and control group just giving by iron tablet during 21 days. Population in this research are all of mother pregnant with Gestational Age Of 16-32 Weeks with Sampling technique is  cluster random sampling is 29 mother pregnant. Comparison analysis of  iron tablet suplementation effect with and without vitamin C toward Hemoglobin level in mother pregnant With Gestational Age Of 16-32 Weeks, data analysis using Mann Whitney U-test and the calculated U value (44,5) less than U-table (51). So there was difference of iron tablet suplementation effect with and without vitamin C toward Hemoglobin level in mother pregnant With Gestational Age Of 16-32 Weeks Therefore, the addition of vitamin C on iron intake is needed to increase the uptake of iron tablets. When the amount of iron uptake increases, the reserves of iron in the body will also increase, so as to prevent anemia in pregnant women; Keywords : Iron Tablet (Fe), Vitamin C, Hemoglobin level, Mother Pregnant

Red colored lipstick is the most widely used cosmetic product. Although lipstick gives a lot of social, psychological and therapeutic benefits, it may harm the consumers. Because some lipsticks contain a considerable amount of heavy metal especially lead. Lead is being used in lipstick mainly for the pigments required to obtain needed colors. Lead accumulates in the body over time and lead-containing lipstick applied several times a day, every day, combined with lead in water and other sources, could add up to significant exposure levels. Therefore, this study was aimed to determine lead content in red colored lipsticks from market. This study was laboratorybased, analytical study by using 25 lipstick samples. Red colored lipsticks were bought from Mandalay Market by random sampling procedure and they were completely coded to avoid the bias. Then, lead content in coded samples was determined by Flame AAS according to International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guideline. Lead contents of 88% of the lipsticks samples were more than specified limit (20 ppm) of Food and Drug Administration, United States. All of them, lead content was highest in counterfeit lipsticks group. Among the tested lipstick samples, lipstick with lowest lead content was LE-RL 01 (15.74 ppm) and the lipstick with highest lead content was CF-RL 01(60.09 ppm). In conclusion, lead contents of red colored lipsticks (22 out of 25) from market samples were higher than allowable limit (20 ppm).

The aim of this work was the development and validation of a fast analytical method to determine the residual solvents content in radiopharmaceuticals such as: 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG), 18F-Fluoroestradiol (18F-FES), 18F-Fluorothymidine (18F-FLT),18F-Fluoromisonidazole (18F-FMISO). Radiopharmaceuticals are radioactive preparations for medical purposes used in nuclear medicine as tracers in diagnostic imaging and treatment of certain diseases. Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a medical imaging technique that consists in introducing into the body of a small amount of a biologically active chemical compound labelled with a short lived positron-emitting radioisotope (18F, 11C, 68Ga). Residual solvents are critical impurities in radiopharmaceuticals that can affect labelling, stability and physicochemical properties of drugs. Therefore, the determination of these solvents is essential for quality control of radiopharmaceuticals. Validation of the control method for residual solvents by gas chromatography is referred by the European Pharmacopoeia using a special injection technique (head space). The parameters of the method, which comply with International Conference on Harmonization guidelines, are: accuracy, precision, linearity, limit of detection, limit of quantification and robustness. The proposed method (direct gas chromatography injection) proved to be linear, precise, accurate and robust. Good linearity was achieved for all the solvents and correlation coefficients (R2) for each residual solvent were found more than 0.99.
