The purpose of this research was to determine the metacognition process of students in Baiturrohmah Malang Islamic Junior High School Class VIII which have a field dependent (FD) and field independent (FI) cognitive style in solving mathematical problems in solid geomethry topic. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research with purposive sampling method. The subject were 1 FD and 1 FI. The subjects were selected by GEFT test. The instrumentsused in this research are broblem solving test and interview guidelines. The resultsare (1) the process of metacognition of FD subject in problemsolving, on awareness indicator, it can be seen that subject was able to mention what was ask of the question completely, subject was mistaken in writing down what was known. On regulating indicator the subject has been able to determine the plan and carry out the plan correctly. The indicator evaluating the subject has been able to re-examine the answers and give the conclusion, (2) the process of metacognition of FI subject in problem solving. In the awareness indicator, it can be seen that subject has been able to mention what is known and asked about the problem well. Regulating indicatorthe subject was able to arrange the plan and carry out the plan correctly. evaluating indicator the subject has not been able to re-examine the answer that have been done but have not arrived at conclusions.

<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> The purpose of this article is to describe the thinking process of junior high school students in solving mathematical problems. The thought process that will be disclosed in this study includes receiving, processing, storing, and calling information. In this research, it refers to problem solving according to Polya. This type of research is descriptive research and uses a qualitative approach. The subjects chosen consisted of one person from class VIII. The conclusion of this study is that the subject understands the problem by receiving information from repeatedly reading the problem so that it correctly mentions the thing that is known and asked. The subject makes a completion plan by linking the selected formulas. In completing the subject using the plan he has made by linking the known, asked, and the formula he has chosen. The subject also rechecked the problem solving stage.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong><em> </em>Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah mendeskripsikan proses berpikir siswa SMP dalam memecahkan masalah matematika. Proses berpikir yang akan diungkapkan penelitian ini mencakup penerimaan, pengolahan, penyimpanan, dan pemanggilan suatu informasi. Dalam penelitian ini merujuk kepada pemecahan masalah menurut Polya. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek yang dipilih berjumlah satu orang dari kelas VIII. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah subjek memahami masalah dengan menerima informasi dari membaca berulang kali soal sehingga dengan benar menyebutkan hal yang diketahui dan ditanyakan. Subjek membuat rencana penyelesaian dengan mengaitkan rumus-rumus yang dipilih. Dalam melakukan penyelesaian subjek menggunakan rencana yang telah ia buat dengan mengaitkan yang diketahui, ditanyakan, dan rumus yang telah ia pilih. Subjek juga melakukan pengecekan ulang pada tahap penyelesaian masalah.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil kemampuan pemecahan masalah open-ended pada materi bangun datar segiempat bagi siswa SMP . Subjek  dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 siswa kelas VIII H SMP N 8 Salatiga yang memiliki kemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Subjek  dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek berkemampuan sedang dan subjek berkemampuan rendah belum mampu memahami masalah, menyusun rencana pemecahan masalah khususnya soal nomor satu. Subjek berkemampuan rendah belum mampu memeriksa kembali. Abstract: This is a qualitative descriptive research. The purpose of this research is to know  the profile of open-ended problem solving in rectangular geometric shape of junior high school students. The subject of this research is 3 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 8 Salatiga who have high, medium, and low skills. The subject of this research is taken by using purposive sampling technique. The data collection techniques used were a test, interview, and documentation. The result showed that subject capable of achieving and subject capable low have not been able to understand a problem, device a plan problem solving especially about number one. Subject capable low have not been able to l ooking back.

The purpose of this research was to reveal how the construction process of symbolic representation and verbal representation made by students in problem solving. The construction process in this study referred to the problem-solving stage by Polya covering; 1) understanding the problem, 2) devising a plan, 3) carrying outthe plan, and 4) looking back. This research was qualitative research by getting involved 4 students of Junior High School class VIII. This study obtained results that the construction process of symbolic representation made by students since in the process of understanding the problem. In understanding the problem, students were able to identify the problem well. Then students could make the symbol used as a variable that the value was not known. By using the symbol students could perform a series of calculation to obtain the value of the symbol. Symbols created by students were very helpful and facilitated students in solving problems. While in the construction process, verbal representation was done by students since the process of understanding the problem. The form of verbal representation was manifested by writing down all information known from a slightly changed problem because they used a language that they understood more. Based on the known information, students could plan and performed a series of calculations using written sentences so that the problems could be solved properly.

This endeed of  research is to describe the place of the kolintang music ensemble to accompany the singin of the flag ceremony at SMP Sw. St. Paulus Sidikalang. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The subject of this research is flag ceremony. The research focussed on the role of Kolintang music ensemble as song chanting. The data of the final research was obtained from the observations of the flag-raising activities, interview with teachers, student adan kolintang’s players in junior high school and take a documentation. Data were analyzed with qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. Data validity is obtained through data triangulation, observer triangulation, theory triangulation and method triangulation. The purpose of this research is to know and descriebing  kolintang music. Example, in this research is by using numbered data such as document, archieves, interview results, observation result or also by interviewing more thn one subject that is consideret to have a different point of view.The result showed that : (1) In accompaniying singing at the flag-ceremony, students used the basic notes G, C and F. (2) the tecnic to performed kolintang    were not wheeled with a kolintang played general. (3). After carrying out their duties as chanting accompaniment in the ceremony, students who performed kolintang first practice on kolintang extracurricular activities. (4) in the process of playing kolintang, each player must have a strong feeling so that the technic kolintang is harmonious. Keywords : Descriptive Study, Ensemble, Kolintang music

Abstrak: Kemampuan pemecahan masalah adalah suatu kecakapan atau potensi yang dimiliki dalam diri individu untuk menyelesaiakan suatu masalah dari permasalahan yang berbeda-beda. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada tingkatan sangat baik dan kurang. Kemampuan ini diteliti terkait dengan materi bangun ruang dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan sampel 4 siswa SMPN 1 Papar kelas VIII-I. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sampel berkemampuan: (1) Pada tingkat sangat baik, mengalami kesulitan dalam menstranfer pengetahuan (2) Pada tingkat baik, mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami dan memvisualisasikan konsep matematika karena terbiasa dengan soal-soal rutin (3) Pada tingkat cukup baik, mengalami kesulitan yaitu lemah dalam perhitungan (4) Pada tingkat sangat kurang, mengalami kesulitan yaitu  lemah dalam melakukan perhitungan dan membuat koneksi. Kata Kunci: kemampuan pemecahan masalah, tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah, kesulitan, bangun ruang  Abstract: The ability to solve problems is a skill or potential possessed in an individual to solve a problem from different problems. The purpose of this study is to describe problem-solving abilities at very good and poor levels. This ability was examined in relation to space building material using a qualitative approach, with a sample of 4 students of Papar 1 Junior High School class VIII-I. Data collection techniques used in this study are tests and interviews. The results showed that the sample was capable of: (1) at a very good level, having difficulty in transferring knowledge (2) At a good level, having difficulty understanding and visualizing mathematical concepts because they are familiar with routine questions (3) At a fairly good level, experiencing difficulties that is weak in calculation (4) At a very low level, having difficulties is weak in performing calculations and making connections. Communication is one of the important things in the learning process because there will be social interactions that can make learning more lively. Through communication, students can understand and interpret understanding of mathematical problems, not only calculation problems but also mathematical problems in everyday life. This research aims to describe students' communication skills in solving mathematical literacy problems based on mathematical abilities. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The subjects in this research were 27 students of class VIII in one of SMP Swasta in Sidoarjo. Subjects were given a mathematics ability test to categorize the subject's mathematical abilities into high, medium, and low-levels. The research data were obtained from the results of mathematics literacy tests and interviews conducted by 3 selected subjects. The results showed that 1) students with high mathematical abilities have a medium category of communication skills because students can fulfill the indicators of expression, interpretation, use of notations/symbols, and evaluation with correct answers without complete reasons, 2) students with medium mathematical abilities have a medium category of communication skills because students can fulfill the expression and interpretation indicators with correct answers along with correct and clear reasons, fulfill the indicators of using notations/symbols with correct answers without complete reasons, but students do not fulfill the evaluation indicators, and 3) students with low mathematical abilities have a very low category of communication skills because students can fulfill the expression and interpretation indicators with wrong answers but there is a reason, fulfill the indicators of using notations/symbols with correct answers but no reason, but students do not fulfill the evaluation indicators. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan menggambar ilustrasi teknik arsir yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan hasil karya gambar ilustrasi teknik arsir berdasarkan aspek penilaian ilustrasi yaitu penempatan, konsep, karakter, dan konsistensi menurut prinsip penilaian ilustrasi oleh Andrew Loomis. Waktu penelitian berlangsung selama 2 bulan, yang dilaksanakan dari bulan Oktober hingga Desember. Lokasi penelitian adalah jalan Batang Kuis Desa Tanjung Sari Kecamatan Batang Kuis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menguraikan masing-masing subjek yang diteliti. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan purposive sampling dengan sample 29 karya siswa. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa nilai rata-rata karya siswa secara keseluruhan dikaregorikan baik dengan rata-rata nilai 79,8 (baik). Hasil karya gambar ilustrasi dikategorikan baik yaitu 27 karya dengan nilai rata-rata 80,8. Hasil karya gambar ilustrasi teknik arsir dikategorikan cukup baik yaitu 1 karya dengan nilai 66,3. Hasil karya gambar ilustrasi tenik arsir dikategorikan kurang baik yaitu 1 karya dengan nilai 64,9. Maka dari 29 karya gambar ilustrasi teknik arsir yang mencapai nilai KKM sebanyak 28 karya dari karya gambar Ilustrasi Teknik Arsir yang dibuat oleh siswa kelas VIII SMP Swasta Tunas Karya Batang Kuis.Kata Kunci: analisis, gambar, ilustrasi, teknik, arsir.AbstractThe Study aims to determine the ability to illustrate shading techniques that are used to obtain the illustrations of shading techniques based on the assessment aspects of the technique, namely placement, concept, character, and consistency according to the illustration by Andrew Loomis. The time of the study lasted for two months, wich was held from October to Desember. The location of the research is at Batang Kuis St. Tanjung Sari village Batang Kuis sub-dictrict. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by describing the subject studied. In this study,the researcher used purposive sampling with a sample of 29 student works. The result of the study explain that the average value of students as a whole can be categorized as good with an average calue of 79,8 (good). Illustration works are categorized as good, namely 27 works with an average value of 80,8. The drawing artwork of the shading technique is categorized quite well, namely 1 work with a value of 66,3. The results of the experimental work of the shading technique are categorized as poor, namely 1 work with a value 64,9. Then of the 29 images of shading drawing technique wich reached KKM values as many as 28 students’ work from the work of the drawing technique of the shading technique made by students of class VIII Private Junior High School Tunas Karya Batang Kuis. Abstract. This research is to find out if anything there is a relationship between the intensity of parent-child communication with adolescent self-regulation in schools. The population used in this study is a teenage boarding school educated men who are MTS / Junior High School, class VIII, as many as 84 people. Sampling using purposive sampling. Methods of data collection using the Likert method to scale communication and self-regulation. The results of data analysis showed no association between communication with the self-regulation of rhitung = 0.510 with rtabel = 0.220, where rhitung (0.510)> rtabel (.220). The hypothesis stating no connection between the intensity of parent-child communication with adolescent self-regulation on schools received a correlation coeffi-cient of 51%). Keywords: Intensity of Communication, Self Regulation

Abstrak: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP dalam memecahkan masalah matematika pada materi pola barisan bilangan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah tiga siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Salatiga tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 yang memiliki kemampuan matematika tinggi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes, dan pedoman wawancara. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah semua subjek mampu memperlihatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dengan tingkatan yang berbeda-beda yaitu satu subjek memperlihatkan TKBK 4, satu subjek memperlihatkan TKBK 3 dan satu subjek memperlihatkan TKBK 1.Abstract:  This research is a qualitative descriptive research,that aims to determine the ability of creative thinking students of junior high school in solving mathematical problems in the matter of pattern of sequence numbers. Subjects in this study consist of three students of  (eight grade of junior high school 3 Salatiga) VIII SMP Negeri 3 Salatiga in the academic year 2017/2018 who have high mathematical ability. Data collection using test techniques, and interview guidelines. Data analysis used  data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of those studies are all subjects are able to show the ability of creative thinking in different levels of one subject showed TKBK 4, one subject showed TKBK 3 and one subject showed TKBK 1.

The ability to solve mathematical problems is very important in learning math and everyday life. According to Krulik &amp; Rudnick there are 5 stages of problem solving that is Read, Explore, Select A Strategy, Solve And Look Back. Mathematical problems require multiple representational skills to communicate problems, one of which is visual representation. Trigonometry is one of the materials that uses visual representation. This research is a qualitative descriptive research that aims to describe the ability of problem solving mathematics with Krulik &amp; Rudnick stages in terms of visual representation. The study was conducted in MAN 2 Brebes. Determination of Subjects in this study using Purposive Sampling. Research instruments used to obtain the required data are visual representation and problem-solving tests, and interview guidelines. The data obtained were analyzed based on the Krulik &amp; Rudnick problem solving indicator. Subjects in this study were subjects with moderate visual representation. Based on the results, problem solving ability of the subject is not fully fulfilled. Subjects with visual representations are able to do problem solving well that is solving the problem through a concept that is understood without visualization of the image. Subjects with visual representations are having a schematic visual representation type.
