In the article, to study the physical, technological and physico-chemical characteristics of hazelnuts, promising varieties of hazelnuts were selected: Ata-baba, Oilseed hazelnuts, Ganja hazelnuts, Ashraf, Kudryavchik and Lombard hazelnuts. Their main dimensions, mass, core yield, solid shell thickness, etc. are measured and recorded. Some technological characteristics of the selected hazelnut varieties were studied. In accordance with the procedure, round-shaped hazelnuts, large and small of this size, were checked in factories for processing products with a diameter of less than 13.2 mm, and oblong nuts were taken as small nuts. Hazelnuts of the Ata-baba, Oilseed and Ashraf varieties became more suitable for processing on the equipment of the processing enterprise. One of the important parameters is the kernel output. The core output must be at least 35%. This indicator is 55.7% in the Ata-baba variety, 58% in the Oilseed hazelnuts. The Ganja variety had 54%. The main reserve substances of hazelnuts are proteins and lipids. The content of lipids in the studied varieties was 60.4–72.5%, proteins 15.8–17.8%, carbohydrates 11.4–20.11%, core moisture 3.98–7.49%. According to the certification requirements, the drained cores should not exceed 4%. Set coefficients of external and internal friction of hazelnuts with shell and core without shell so that when the humidity increases from 12% to 21% for xar of the fetus increases with 0.622 to 0.649, for dax with 0.461 to 0.523 accordingly, when the humidity increases core from 4% to 9% for xar with 0.570 to 0.603, for dax increased the odds with 0.418 to 0.453. This suggests that an increase in moisture content increases the ratio of external and internal friction of hazelnuts with shell and core without the shell. It was found that the damage to the fruit depends more on the humidity. It is considered important to maintain the moisture content of the product served for the breakdown within 14%.

Background: Our experiment based on the research and the choice optimal fomula containing insoluble component Glucomannan extracted from Amorphophallus paeoniifolius species. The aim of this study was to evaluate the stability of granules for oral suspension containing Glucomannan. Materials and method: The products were stored in sealed aluminium package at room condition (250C, RH 60% - 75%) for 6 months or at accelerated condition (40 ± 20C, RH 75 ± 5%) for 4 months. After storing, evaluating the physico-chemical characteristics of granules for oral suspension containing Glucomannan such as α – angle, moisture content... Results: The results showed that the products were stable at the above conditions about appearance, moisture content, dispersion state in 3 minutes, level of phase separation, residue ratio after 24 hours according to the fourth edition of Vietnamese Pharmacopoeia. Conclusion: Granules for oral suspension containing Glucomannan were stable during research time. Key words: granule, oral suspension, Glucomannan, stability

ABSTRACT Passion fruit has the peel (albedo and flavedo) as its major component and it can be used in the production of flour as source of nutrients and enrichment of food products. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the production of flours from passion fruit albedo and whole peel, verifying the influences of flavedo removal and maceration, as well as the variation in drying temperature (70 and 80 °C) on the physical and chemical characteristics of the flours. The flours has a light color with slight trend to red and stronger trend to yellow. Moisture content is within the limits established by the current norms of ANVISA (a maximum of 15%). The flavedo removal contributed to the increase of water, crude fiber, neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber concentrations. However, it reduced moisture, ash, protein, lipids and carbohydrates concentrations. On the other hand, the maceration decreases luminosity, lipids and carbohydrates and increases the chromaticity a* and b* and moisture in the flours. In relation to the increase in temperature, a decrease was observed in the protein concentration and an increase in the concentration of ash and lipids. Based on centesimal composition, the flour should be prepared with whole peel without maceration and dried at 80 °C.

Oils are categorized as either edible or non-edible. One among the category that cannot be used for cooking is eucalyptus that is amply available within India. The eucalyptus oil is an excellent input for green fuel; the core of the eucalyptus tree has around 35 to 40 percentage of oil content in it. This paper describes the process involved in preparing green fuel from eucalyptus oil by using a trans-esterification method, before starting with the method varied characteristics of eucalyptus green fuel has been examined. It has been discovered that physico-chemical characteristics of the eucalyptus oil is within the range of the standards that have been set by different countries. Eucalyptus oil 40.4 saturated fatty acid 59.6% of unsaturated fatty acid. The sticky nature of the raw eucalyptus decreases posts trans-esterification, but still it is high when compared with mineral diesel. Other characteristics of cloud and pour point, cold filter plugging point (CFPP) are high than diesel. Eucalyptus green fuel mixed with diesel in various proportions. The characteristics of green fuel have been assessed alongside the related criterions. Resultant of the calculation shows that the constant value of the regression is high amongst green fuel characteristics and proportion of the blend. It has been concluded that the best proportion of blend can be up to the extent of 0.3 i.e., 30 percentages after taking into consideration the value of cold filter plugging point.

The paper presents the synthesis of a new complex combination of a Bis-Schiff base with Mn(II) ions with great potential for antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity. A new complex of the Salen-type ligand, 1-ethyl-salicylidene-bis-ethylene diamine was synthetized using Mn(II) ions. The chemical structure was confirmed through 1H-NMR and IR spectroscopy. The antimicrobial activities of the Bis-Schiff base and its complex were tested in comparison with Ampicillin, Chloramphenicol, Tetracycline, Ofloxacin and Nystatin. Those compounds were found to be active against Gram-positive or Gram-negative bacteria, and had an anti-inflammatory effect comparable to that of Indomethacin.

: The pace at which nanotheranostic technology for human disease is evolving has accelerated exponentially over the past five years. Nanotechnology is committed to utilizing the intrinsic properties of materials and structures at submicroscopic-scale measures. Indeed, there is generally a profound influence of reducing physical dimensions of particulates and devices on their physico-chemical characteristics, biological properties, and performance. The exploration of nature’s components to work effectively as nanoscaffolds or nanodevices represents a tremendous and growing interest in medicine for various applications (e.g., biosensing, tunable control and targeted drug release, tissue engineering). Several nanotheranostic approaches (i.e., diagnostic plus therapeutic using nanoscale) conferring unique features are constantly progressing and overcoming all the limitations of conventional medicines including specificity, efficacy, solubility, sensitivity, biodegradability, biocompatibility, stability, interactions at subcellular levels. : This review introduces two major aspects of nanotechnology as an innovative and challenging theranostic strategy or solution: (i) the most intriguing (bare and functionalized) nanomaterials with their respective advantages and drawbacks; (ii) the current and promising multifunctional “smart” nanodevices.
