The Implementation of CEFR in Malaysia is currently at the second stage whereby the classroom usage of the new CEFR-aligned syllabus and assessment has taken place since 2017 at all stages except for Form 5. Previous studies on CEFR in Malaysia have focused more on teachers’ views and their readiness in accepting the new changes. However, this study focusses more on ascertaining the suitability of the writing syllabus specifications against the CEFR writing scale to find out if the CEFR levels of writing syllabus specifications recommended by the teachers match the CEFR level set by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia. A total of 331 secondary school teachers were asked to respond to the writing syllabus checklist and the Winstep SPSS was used for data analysis. Findings have shown that productive skills of the writing syllabus specifications were found not to be aligned to the target CEFR level set by the Ministry. In conclusion, adjustment and alignment processes should be made accordingly to align and match the non-CEFR aligned English syllabus to the CEFR global scale instead of eradicating it.

The thrust of the study was to investigate stress and depression as correlates of retirement phobia among secondary school teachers in Sokoto state, Nigeria. The study employed descriptive research design, of correlational type. 260 respondents were selected using Krejcie and Morgan table from the total of 801 teachers from a total of 15 secondary schools in Sokoto state purposively selected. Three research instruments were used for data collection; Teachers Stress Scale, Perceived Teachers Depression Scale and Perceived Teachers Retirement Scale. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used for data analysis. The findings revealed that; there is significant relationship between stress and retirement phobia, depression and retirement phobia and stress and depression among secondary school teachers in Sokoto state. Recommendations forwarded includes Counselling Association should partner with Governments at all Levels to organizing programmes such as workshops, symposium and seminars; that are geared toward educating teachers on the danger of Stress and Depression on their retirement,

The primary goal of most EFL students is to achieve fluency in the target language and become autonomous speakers who can react naturally in most situations. To achieve this, mastery of speaking subskills is crucial. The paper aims to identify how well specific subskills, i.e. negotiation of meaning and agenda management, are represented and developed in EFL coursebooks. Twenty coursebooks approved by the Slovene Ministry of Education, Science and Sport for 3rd and 4th year grammar school students are reviewed. The number of all recorded subskills in the reviewed coursebooks suggests that less than a third are covered in each coursebook. Skills in negotiation of meaning are better represented than skills in agenda management in terms of the number of occurrences, the location within the unit and variety of skills. However, there are no significant differences among the remaining teaching elements. The study also indicates that most activities do not contain practice of meaning/form and pronunciation of target phrases. Although communicative activities are mostly present, they lack authenticity and are thus not sufficiently motivating for the target group. The results of the study can serve as a recommendation for secondary school teachers as to the type of speaking subskills, their presence in English coursebooks as well as the detail with which they are covered. Practical teaching advice is given on how the lack of variety in the selected subskills, as well as the quality of related activities can be resolved.

There is a general consensus among researchers that most students of English as a foreign language (EFL) are weak in writing composition. One of the main reasons for their weakness is due to the fact that there is no general agreement among teachers on how to teach and/ or evaluate compositions. Secondary school teachers in Jordan often complain that most students face problems and make errors when they write English compositions. These errors are usually reflected in school exams as well as in the General Secondary School Examination (Tawjihi), held annually by the Ministry of Education. The main concern of this research is to study students' problems in writing English compositions in Jordanian Secondary Schools. A questionnaire has been set for this purpose. The research is expected to identify the most serious problems that secondary students face and recommend certain procedures to avoid these problems and improve students' writing ability in English compo-sitions.

The Study assessed principal‟s effectiveness in monitoring students‟ progress in Ebonyi State secondary schools as a means of achieving national security. One purpose of study, one research question and one hypothesis guided the study. The survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study comprised 817 secondary school teachers. The sample for the study was 210 secondary school teachers who were drawn using simple random sampling technique. Questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. The instrument was validated by three experts: one in Measurement and Evaluation and two in Educational management. The reliability was determined using Cronbach Alpha. Data were collected by the researcher with the help of four research assistants. Data collected were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and t-test. The findings of the study revealed that principals in rural schools do not monitor students‟ progress effectively. It was recommended that ministry of education should set machineries on board to help monitor the activities of principals to ensure that they are performing their leadership functions effectively.

The current study discusses the ethics of the teaching profession among secondary school teachers from school leaders’ perspective in Riyadh. It aimed at providing a proposal for the ethics of the teaching profession. The study utilized the descriptive approach and a questionnaire applied to 426 school leaders. The sample responses means were moderate and high in the domain of teacher professional performance, and his relation to students, community, and school community as well as family. There were no statistically significant differences in the sample responses due to school type, age, years of experience, and qualification. The study recommended developing a code of ethics approved by the Ministry of Education and adopted by teachers, preparing rehabilitation training programs for teachers, designing a website of educational supervision and ethics of teaching, creating an atmosphere of mutual relations among teachers, educational supervisors, and school leaders.

The study was conducted to assess and compare the burnout level of SSTs of district Dera Ismail Khan pertaining to selected demographics like gender, locality and marital status. A researcher made "Teacher's Burnout Inventory-TBI" was used to assess the burnout level of SSTs. The inventory was validated using Exploratory Factor Analysis and also through face and content validity. The reliability of the inventory was recorded as 0.822. The population of the study consisted of 884 Secondary School Teachers. The burnout inventory was distributed among a selected sample of 272 SSTs out of which only 204 SSTs responded in which 183 SSTs (126 male and 57 female SSTs) completely and properly filled the inventory. Data was analyzed using SPSS (Version 22.0). Three null hypotheses were also devised and accordingly tested. The data analysis revealed that all together, burnout level among SST teachers of D.I.Khan was however low. On gender basis, a significant difference was recorded while no significant differences were noted on marital status and locality facets of burnout. Various recommendations including increase in pay and allowances, convince and medical facilities, along with trainings regarding coping and diminishing stress and burnout were made on the basis of data analysis.

The main thrust of this study was to examine and investigate whether relationships exist among vocational interest, attribution and career maturity among teachers in secondary schools of Sokoto state. Some research questions raised were: Is there any relationship between vocational interest and career maturity of secondary school teachers in Sokoto state: and is there any relationship between vocational interest and attribution of secondary school teachers in Sokoto state? Some null hypotheses generated for the conduct of the study were that: there is no significant relationship between vocational interest and career maturity of secondary school teachers in Sokoto state and there is no significant relationship between vocational interest and attribution of secondary school teachers in Sokoto state. The study used the correlational survey methodology for237 subjects drawn from the total population by means o f simple random sampling technique. Data for the study was collected with the use of an adopted version of Bakare 's Vocational Interest Inventory, an adopted version of Olomolaiye's Self Other Motivation Scale and an adopted version of Crites' Career Maturity Inventory Attitude Scale. Some major findings of the study were that there is a relationship between vocational interest and career maturity and also that there is a relationship between career maturity of secondary school teachers in Sokoto state. Some of the recommendations made were that the Ministry of Education in Sokoto state and the teachers themselves should embark on developing both internal and external inspiring factors toward the general development of the teachers' career maturity thus leading to sound academic effectiveness and that the state Ministry of Education should look for all possible ways to develop teachers' interest and attribution which will eventually enhance the realization of positive and efficient self-esteem, self-efficacy, self-concept and self-fulfillment which are necessary ingredients in career maturity etc.

Although there are several studies on youth problems in school, there are few studies on how teachers report psychological discomfort of the students and on what criteria does their procedure. Considering that schools increasingly make such reports to social or neuropsychiatry services, we wanted to find out whether it is flawless (bias, etc.) and how it can affect a student's career. This research presents an investigation on how the practice of signaling "psychological discomfort" at school is set up. Objects of the survey are the procedures used by the teachers to submit the psychological problems. The research subjects were Secondary School teachers. In this research, we used qualitative research methods. We specifically chose to use a semi-structured interview. The data analysis was conducted in line with the analysis of the conventional content. From an analysis of the responses, it is possible to highlight that there is no generally agreed description of psychological discomfort, that the criteria for identifying distress are different and that the way in which they follow the reporting procedure varies very much from teacher to teacher. Finally, we discuss the implications of individualized reports both for the school course of the student and for the requirements of the teachers.

AIM: This research project aimed at exploring the views of secondary school teachers and hostel matrons on the landscape of substance abuse amongst the youth at a border town situated in the northern region of Namibia. METHOD: In this qualitative study, in-depth interviews were conducted with secondary school teachers and hostel matrons, selected by means of a purposive sampling method from five schools representing state schools and private schools. Ethical approval was obtained from the University of Namibia’s ethical approval committee, whilst permission to conduct the study was obtained from the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, Namibia.  Participation was voluntary and based on informed consent. FINDINGS: The themes identified in the study were amongst others; the types of substances used by the youth, the use of substances on school premises and easy access/availability of substances. CONCLUSION: The study concluded that substance abuse seems to be normalised in the community because of the excessive availability of alcohol in the community. The need for law enforcement and law reform as well as prevention programmes at all levels of society is highlighted.
