This study aims to determine the best route to tourist sites in Surabaya. An optimal path will be obtained from three path choices. The method used is Sugeno Fuzzy Logic, by obtaining membership degrees with fuzzification and then being applied to the appropriate rules, followed by the deflation process to produce optimal and less optimal output. There are six tourist attractions to be visited including Tugu Pahlawan, Food Junction Pakuwon, Atlantis Land, Surabaya Zoo (KBS), Suroboyo Carnival, and Mangrove. There are three starting points (Surabaya City Hall, Purabaya Terminal, and Tanjung Perak Port). The criteria used in this study are distance to tourist attractions, time taken, and road density. These criteria were chosen based on almost all tourist locations in the city of Surabaya through the crowds along the main city lanes in Surabaya. Data is obtained through google maps by comparing three paths and the optimal path will be determined to be passed to get to tourist attractions in Surabaya. The results of this study obtained six optimal paths from each starting point.

The purpose of the present study is to design a management model of ecological tourism for the city of Francisco de Orellana. Through the compilation of information and tourist offers, and the analysis of biophysical, sociocultural and economic areas, and plants, superstructures and attractions that appeal to tourists, 4 natural and 5 cultural places were identified. With the application of the environmental impact matrix, it was determined that tourist attractions present a high level of contamination due to the presence of the industrial sector and the inadequate handling of dirty water and solid waste. The most affected tourist attractions are: Napo and Payamino rivers, the Yacu eco-park and the boardwalk; throughout the environmental impact matrix they establish obstacles to environmental remediation. With the results obtained, a sustainable tourism management model was designed based on the objectives of Plan Nacional del Buen Vivir and PLANDETUR 2020. The study concludes that the management model will provide a starting point for the development of sustainable tourism activity in the city. Keywords: sustainable tourism, management model, environmental sustainability, government policies, environmental impact, strategic plan. Society, in general, and every local collectivity, in particular, needs public administrations to carry out administrative activities dedicated to concrete social needs. Starting from this necessity, through its content, this paper aims to analyze the opinions of dignitaries and civil servants, as well as members of the local community regarding the administration activity carried out at the Institution of Horodnic de Sus City Hall in Suceava County. Achieved by ensuring the comparability of the data collected, this micro-research reveals that both those who manage and those who are managed show a favorable attitude in relation to almost all aspects surveyed: the adaptation of administrative activities to the needs of the local community, the promptness and efficiency of the administrative activity in the City Hall Institution, the, the satisfaction regarding the management of both the City Hall Institution and the locality. However, the study highlights the fact that regarding the existence of bureaucracy in the administrative activity and in the relation with the members of the local community, the opinions expressed by the two categories of respondents are different. If in the perception of dignitaries and civil servants alignment of the administrative activity with the development priorities of the locality, the answers are unfavorable to the bureaucratic phenomenon, by contrast, from the opinions expressed by the locals, it results that the City Hall-citizens relation is affected by bureaucracy.

AbstractIt is sometimes difficult to distinguish the work of those Netherlandish painters who left their homeland in the second half of the I6th century, from that of their German pupils and followers from around I600. The genre of architectural painting is a particularly informative example of the complexities involved in this cultural exchange. Some years ago, the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister, Kassel, acquired a very interesting interior by an almost unknown Hessian painter Wolfgang Avemann (I583- after I620) (fig. I). With this as the starting point, it is possible to reattribute to Avemann a number of perspective paintings (fig. 3, 5-8, I2, 13), which until now were mostly attributed to either Hendrik van Steenwijck the Elder (around I550 - I603) or the Younger (I58I/82-I649). The Van Steenwijck workshop was active at Frankfurt around I600, and since in almost all his paintings Avemann used the Van Steenwijck compositional structure (fig. 2, 4, 9), it is most probable that he was an apprentice in their workshop in Frankfurt. Moreover, his figures were influenced by Frederik and Gillis van Valckenborch (fig. I0), who returned to Frankfurt from Italy just at the time when Avemann was learning his craft. Avemann became a master in Nuremberg in I6I2. Another young master of perspective painting working in the city at the same time was Paul Juvenel (I579-I643) (fig. II), whose father was a Netherlandish émigré. Interestingly, Juvenel's pictures are sometimes mistaken for works by the Van Steenwijcks. Clarifying Avemann's role as a painter of perspective pictures expands not only our understanding of the genre of perspective painting in the early I7th century, but also sheds light on the important influence of Netherlandish artists living in Frankfurt (and Nuremberg) - and just at the time when the young Adam Elsheimer departed for Italy.

Young people are important to cities, bringing skills and energy and contributing to economic activity. New technologies have led to the idea of a smart city as a framework for city management. Smart cities are developed from the top-down through government programmes, but also from the bottom-up by residents as technologies facilitate participation in developing new forms of city services. Young people are uniquely positioned to contribute to bottom-up smart city projects. Few diagnostic tools exist to guide city authorities on how to prioritise city service provision. A starting point is to understand how the youth value city services. This study surveys young people in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, and conducts an importance-performance analysis to identify which city services are well regarded and where the city should focus efforts and resources. The results show that Smart city initiatives that would most increase the satisfaction of youths in Braamfontein  include wireless connectivity, tools to track public transport  and  information  on city events. These  results  identify  city services that are valued by young people, highlighting services that young people could participate in providing. The importance-performance analysis can assist the city to direct effort and scarce resources effectively.

Michel Butor, born in 1926, one of the leaders of the French New Novel movement, has written only four novels between 1954 and 1960. The most famous of them is La Modification (Second thoughts), published in 1957. The author of the paper analyzes two other Butor’s novels: L’Emploi du temps (Passing time) – 1956, and Degrés (Degrees) – 1960. The theme of absence is crucial in both of them. In the former, the novel, presented as the diary of Jacques Revel, a young Frenchman spending a year in Bleston (a fictitious English city vaguely similar to Manchester), describes the narrator’s struggle to survive in a double – spatial and temporal – labyrinth. The first of them, formed by Bleston’s streets, squares and parks, is symbolized by the City plan. During his one year sojourn in the city, using its plan, Revel learns patiently how to move in its different districts, and in its strange labyrinth – strange because devoid any centre – that at the end stops annoying him. The other, the temporal one, symbolized by the diary itself, the labyrinth of the human memory, discovered by the narrator rather lately, somewhere in the middle of the year passed in Bleston, becomes, by contrast, more and more dense and complex, which is reflected by an increasinly complex narration used to describe the past. However, at the moment Revel is leaving the city, he is still unable to recall and to describe the events of the 29th of February 1952. This gap, this absence, symbolizes his defeat as the narrator, and, in the same time, the human memory’s limits. In Degrees temporal and spatial structures are also very important. This time round, however, the problems of the narration itself, become predominant. Considered from this point of view, the novel announces Gerard Genette’s work Narrative Discourse and his theoretical discussion of two narratological categories: narrative voice and narrative mode. Having transgressed his narrative competences, Pierre Vernier, the narrator of the first and the second parts of the novel, who, taking as a starting point, a complete account of one hour at school, tries to describe the whole world and various aspects of the human civilization for the benefit of his nephew, Pierre Eller, must fail and disappear, as the narrator, from the third part, which is narrated by another narrator, less audacious and more credible.

Thucydides reports that the Phoenicians were present throughout Sicily and traded with the Sicels. A tangible Phoenician presence in Sicily, as expressed by pottery, is attested only at the end of the eighth century bce. The earliest hypothetical Phoenician settlements of Solunt and Panormus are still almost unknown. This earliest phase is associated in particular with the city of Motya, where pottery and a few other finds testify to it. The Punic phase of the island is much clearer, with almost all indications coming from Motya and Selinus, which were not built over in Roman times. The Pfeilertempel, as emerged from Motya, could be regarded as the prototype for the Phoenician temple in Sicily. In turn, it is possible to recognize a characteristic type of temple of Punic Sicily, as particularly shown at Selinus, These shrines, as well as other elements of the Punic settlements like the houses, the fortifications, or the necropoleis, in particular from the fourth century bce onwards, are evidence of an advanced degree of Hellenization, framed within a Mediterranean koine.
