Introduction: Shwasa is said as Shigrapranahara Roga. It occurs as the main disease and also a symptom in various diseases. Shwasakruchrata is a common symptom that occurs in Hrudroga. Acharya Charaka mentioned the unique classification of drugs based on their action. Shwasahara Dashemani is one among them. It is containing 10 herbal drugs which are specially indicated in Shwasa Roga. Hence to evaluate the efficacy of Shwasahara Dashemani in Lakshana Roopi Shwasa in L.V.F (Cardiac Asthma) has taken for the study. Aim and Objective: The objective is to assess the efficacy of Shwasahara Dashemani in L.V.F with dyspnea (Cardiac Asthma). Method: The present study is a controlled comparative, open-label, clinical trial with pre and post-test design. A total of 40 subjects of a diagnosed case of L.V.F with dyspnea (Cardiac Asthma) were selected by using a simple random sampling method. Control group subjects were intervened with standard treatment of L.V.F and intervention group subjects were intervened with standard treatment of L.V.F along with Shwasahara Dashemani Ghana Vati, for the duration of 30 days. Its efficacy was assessed before treatment (0th day) and after treatment (31st day) by using BDI (Baseline Dyspnea Index Scale). Results: The P-value of dyspnea of the control group is 1.000 and the P-value of dyspnea of the intervention group is 0.105. This shows that the results of both groups are statistically not significant. But as compared to the control group, the intervention group is clinically significant because after the intervention 35% of subjects had shown improvement in the intervention group. Conclusion: As compared to the control group, in the intervention group Shwasahara Dashemani Ghanavati is clinically significant in relieving cardiac asthma when used with standard treatment of L.V.F. The quality of life (QoL) of patients with schizophrenia is impaired compared to the general population. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) on the quality of life of people with schizophrenia in selected Neuropsychiatric Hospitals in South-West Nigeria. A quasi-experimental research design was adopted in the study, 60 participants with schizophrenia were selected purposely, 30 participants to the intervention group and another 30 participants to the control group. Eight sessions of CBT were given to each participant in the intervention group. Data were collected with the use of the WHO Quality of life Bref questionnaire. Data collected were summarized using frequency, percentages, mean score, and standard deviation to answer research questions. The hypotheses were tested using the Mann-Whitney U Test and Wilcoxon Test at 0.05 level of significance. The outcome revealed that there was an overall post-intervention improvement in the Quality of life among the participants in the intervention group with a mean value of 3.63 ± 0.89, Z-value 3.72, p-value <0.001, unlike the control group with a mean value of 2.90 ± 0.85, Z-value= 1.77, p-value=0.08. CBT intervention with pharmacological management was effective in improving the quality of life in schizophrenic patients. CBT should be integrated into routine care given to schizophrenic clients in nursing interventions.

The survival of cancer patients is often short despite receiving therapy, but it really depends on various things including those that play an important role is the ability of patients to improve their life status in dealing with illnesses and therapy through increased self-efficacy because self-efficacy of cancer patients often experience reduction due to cancer and the therapy it undergoes. The pre–test and the first post -test and also the second post-test research design in the form of self-efficacy training of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy used a quasi-experimental design without a control group. Data analysis used dependent t test and repeat ANOVA test. There were significant effects and differences in self-efficacy training on the quality of life of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy with the p value dependent test was 0,000 and the repeat ANOVA test was p value 0,000. The uses of structured self-efficacy training be one of the considerations of nursing interventions to improve the quality of life of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Patients with leprosy prior to being given Self Help Group (SHG) from 15 respondents mostly experience poor quality of life 7 people (46,7%), leprosy patient after given Self Help Group (SHG) that from 15 respondents mostly experience quality of life is 5 people (33.3%). The test used is using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. p value = 0,007 and α = 0,05 so Ha is accepted, it means there is influence Self Help Group therapy (SHG) to quality of life in leprosy patients in tanjungkenongo village sumberglagah kec. Pacet kab. Mojokerto. Abstract Background: A self-help workbook is expected to support cancer patients to cope with physical and psychosocial distress, to facilitate communication with medical staff, and to improve quality of life (QOL). We conducted a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the effectiveness of a self-help workbook intervention on QOL and survival. Methods: From June 2014 to March 2015, patients with breast, colorectal, gastric, and lung cancer receiving outpatient chemotherapy were randomized into an intervention group (n = 100) or control group (n = 100). Intervention group participants received workbooks originally made for this study, read advice on how to cope with distress, and filled out questionnaires on the workbooks periodically. EORTC QLQ-C30 was evaluated at baseline, at 12 weeks, and at 24 weeks. The primary endpoint was Global Health Status / QOL scale (GQOL). Results: No significant interaction was observed between the intervention and time in terms of GQOL or any of the functional scales. Among the 69 patients who continued cytotoxic chemotherapy at 24 weeks, the intervention was significantly associated with improved emotional functioning scores (P = 0.0007). Overall survival was not significantly different between the two groups. Conclusions: Self-help workbook intervention was feasible in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. Although the effect of the intervention was limited, the intervention may improve emotional functioning among patients who receive long-term cytotoxic chemotherapy.Trial registration: UMIN Clinical Trials Registry, UMIN000012842.
