Based on its prevalence, there is an urgent need to better understand the mechanisms, opportunities and risks of sexual interaction in digital contexts (SIDC) that are related with sexual arousal. While there is a growing body of literature on SIDC, there is also a lack of conceptual clarity and classification. Therefore, based on a conceptual analysis, we propose to distinguish between sexual interaction (1) through, (2) via, and (3) with digital technologies. (1) Sexual interactions through digital technologies are face-to-face sexual interactions that (a) have been started digitally (e.g., people initiating face-to-face sexual encounters through adult dating apps) or (b) are accompanied by digital technology (e.g., couples augmenting their face-to-face sexual encounters through filming themselves during the act and publishing the amateur pornography online). (2) Sexual interactions via digital technology are technology-mediated interpersonal sexual interactions (e.g., via text chat: cybersex; via smartphone: sexting; via webcam: webcam sex/camming). (3) Sexual interactions with digital technology occur when the technology itself has the role of an interaction partner (e.g., sexual interaction with a sex robot or with a media persona in pornography). The three types of SIDC and their respective subtypes are explained and backed up with empirical studies that are grouped according to two major mediators: consent and commerce. Regarding the causes and consequences of the three types of SIDC we suggest a classification that entails biological, psychological, social, economic, and technological factors. Regarding implications of SIDC we suggest to focus on both opportunities and risks for sexual health. The proposed conceptual framework of SIDC is meant to inform future research.

The role of digital technology in shaping attention and cognitive development has been at the centre of public discourse for decades. The current review presents findings from three main bodies of literature on the implications of technology use for attention and cognitive control: television, video games, and digital multitasking. The aim is to identify key lessons from prior research that are relevant for the current generation of digital users. In particular, the lack of scientific consensus on whether digital technologies are good or bad for children reflects that effects depend on users’ characteristics, the form digital technologies take, the circumstances in which use occurs and the interaction between the three factors. Some features of digital media may be particularly problematic, but only for certain users and only in certain contexts. Similarly, individual differences mediate how, when and why individuals use technology, as well as how much benefit or harm can be derived from its use. The finding emerging from the review on the large degree of heterogeneity in associations is especially relevant due to the rapid development and diffusion of a large number of different digital technologies and contents, and the increasing variety of user experiences. We discuss the importance of leveraging existing knowledge and integrating past research findings into a broader organizing framework in order to guide emerging technology-based research and practice. We end with a discussion of some of the challenges and unaddressed issues in the literature and propose directions for future research.

This study identifies several factors that influence an individual's ethical perceptions of other user's content piracy activities. It addresses the relationship between the characteristics of various online and offline content piracy activities and the extent to which individuals perceive these activities to be ethical. It also considers the knowledge and experience individuals have regarding digital technologies to see whether it impacts their ethical perceptions. This paper finds that the more time it takes to copy content, and the higher the value and quality of the copy, the less ethically acceptable these activities are viewed. It also finds that when users have higher levels of digital technology experience and understanding they view all of these activities as relatively more acceptable. Implications and conclusions are discussed for content companies and future research.

Does human reflexivity disappear as datafication and automation expand and machines take over decision-making? In trying to find answers to this question, we take our lead from recent debates about People Analytics and analyze how the use of algorithmically driven digital technologies like facial recognition and drones in work-organizations and societies at large shape the conditions of ethical conduct. Linking the concepts of algorithmic governmentality and space of ethics, we analyze how such technologies come to form part of governing practices in specific contexts. We conclude that datafication and automation have huge implications for human reflexivity and the capacity to enact responsibility in decision-making. But that itself does not mean that the space for ethical conduct disappears, which is the impression left in some literatures, but rather that is modified and (re) constituted in the interplay of mechanisms of closure (like automating decision-making, black-boxing and circumventing reflexivity), and opening (such as dis-closing contingent values and interests in processes of problematization, contestation and resistance). We suggest that future research investigates in more detail the dynamics of closure and opening in empirical studies of the use and effects of algorithmically driven digital technologies in organizations and societies.

Abstract. Structurally technological shifts in various spheres of life enhance the importance of digital technology. At the present stage, their application in the agricultural sector allows you to get a competitive advantage associated with cost reduction in the face of lower prices in the global agri-food market. The purpose of the study is to determine the role and place of digital technology in the economic interaction of agricultural organizations at the present stage and in the foreseeable future. Research objectives: based on the analysis of grain productivity in Russia from 1795 to 2019. to determine the place of digital technologies in the overall technological structure of agricultural production; highlight digital technologies providing at the present stage of development the economic interaction of agricultural organizations; outline the current and promising role of digital technology in ensuring the economic interaction of agricultural organizations. Scientific novelty and practical significance of the research results: based on a cliometric analysis of cereal yields in Russia for the period from 1795 to 2019. three stages of stable ten-year average values have been identified; through the correlation of the forms of economic interaction with digital technologies, the most characteristic of these forms of economic interaction, it was justified to distinguish the form of economic interaction of agribusiness organizations – digitalizationю The role and importance of digital technologies in the economic interaction of agricultural organizations are determined.

This study examines the future impact of digitalisation on auditing by synthesising empirical studies, relating them to surveys conducted by accounting bodies, and analysing these findings in relation to extant literature. Based on the synthesis, this study proposes a transitional framework to enable the audit profession to remain competitive. The results show that digitalisation may significantly affect the audit profession in the future. However, the impact is likely to be incremental rather than radical. To remain competitive, the audit profession needs to adopt new metrics, capabilities, skills and evolve its business models to incorporate digital technologies.  The contribution of this study is multi-faceted. The propositions and research agenda presented in this study will be beneficial to academics, practitioners, audit regulators, and the general public as they have the potential to form a foundation for addressing future research questions and for the theorisation and empirical testing of audit digitalisation.

<b><i>Background:</i></b> Digital technology has become an integral part of healthcare and will revolutionize the practice of medicine. Although previously the administrative tasks were captured by digital technologies, now the communication channels with the patients are also being focused. For example, taking medical histories is now made possible by this new technology, information and explanatory forms can be sent digitally, and even face-to-face consultations are increasingly made possible by video consultations. Especially in the COVID pandemic, this form of contactless encounter has become a valuable enrichment of medical care. But also telemedical tasks such as teleconsultation or artificial intelligence in the context of adenoma detection are techniques that are conquering outpatient and inpatient visceral medical care. <b><i>Summary:</i></b> This article gives an overview of digital communication and possible uses of digital technologies in medical practices in Germany. <b><i>Key Message:</i></b> Medicine is renewing itself through digital techniques. The pace of change is rapid and unstoppable. Today’s medical progress is no longer conceivable without these techniques.

This paper reports on a systematic review of the literature conducted to inform Early Childhood Australia (ECA) in the development of a national Statement on Young Children and Digital Technologies. The review examines empirical studies published between 2012 and 2017 identified through systematic screening to advise adults on appropriate digital technology use ‘by and with’ young children aged birth to eight years. Four themes are canvassed in this review: (1) healthy practices; (2) relationships; (3) pedagogy and (4) digital play. Findings from the themes suggest advice for adults working in the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector about appropriate digital technology use ‘by and with’ young children.

Studies show that face-to-face aggression extends to other types of bullying behaviours through digital technologies. Current research is limited in primary education and contradictory in terms of gender. This study looked at the prevalence of bullying and cyberbullying in Spain at an early age, identifying groups of victims from a gender perspective. It also associated school variables (sense of belonging at school, absenteeism or student confidence in STEM subjects) to the most vulnerable profile. In a second analysis, 4756 Spanish 4th grade Primary Education pupils completed the TIMMS 2015 standardized survey. The results showed four groups of victims, two characterized by multiple victimization (bullying and cyberbullying). There were significant gender differences between the groups. The percentage of girls in the profile of victims of severe harassment was higher. However, overall there was a greater presence of boys across the different groups of victims. The school variables considered were associated differentially according to gender. The student sense of belonging at school was not the same for girls and boys, nor did they have the same attitude towards absenteeism. The results are discussed in relation to other studies together with conclusions regarding the design of educational interventions and future research.

Abstract This presentation discusses the importance of using digital technologies on reducing mental health disparities among older adults from diverse backgrounds. This talk primarily focuses on the role of ethnicity, socioeconomic status and geography. First, the speaker presents the current status of digital technology use among older adults and how different levels of digital technology use affect mental health disparities by ethnicity, SES, and place of residence. Second, the speaker introduces a recently funded government project on developing an IoT-based home system (Internet of Things) to screen mild cognitive function for Korean older adults. Lastly, the speaker discusses potential implications, as well as directions for future research on using digital technologies to reduce mental health disparities among diverse populations.
