The European Union has emphasized the creation of an appropriate framework to optimize the internal market and inland transport waterways, and remove barriers to their wider use. Administrative barriers in the logistics of goods on the Danube waterway and its navigable tributaries constitute a significant obstacle to the efficient and sustainable use of the Danube as the region’s central transport hub. The approach proposed in this paper was designed to identify and analyze the relationship between the main variables leading to problematic inland waterway traffic, in this case, on the Danube, and the measures taken by the European Commission to improve it. In terms of the applied research method, “Quality Function Deployment” (QFD), we assign global (overall) and local priority degrees. The proposed framework for adapting QFD as a tool for improving quality and, therefore, performance, aims to identify and prioritize directions for this improvement. The House of Quality (HOQ) is the tool that links areas for improvement to technical requirements. The disclosure of these connections helps identify and prioritize the technical features that will generate the most significant improvements.

The objective of this paper is to investigate the attributes of services at a scooter maintenance centreand how to improve the attributes. As many as 40 customers participated in this study to identify theattributes. The instrument was developed through a combination of literature review, interview focusgroup discussion. Unlike many other studies that assume a linear relationship between servicesattributes and customer satisfaction, this study considers the relationship as non-linear. For thisreason, this study does not only use Service Quality (SERVQUAL) Model but also Kano’s Modelwhich was combined with Quality Function Deployment. The analysis demonstrated that there were13 attributes required by customers of which 4, 5 and 4 were categorised as attractive, onedimensional and must-berespectively according to Kano’s Model. Managerial implication and futureresearch recommendation are also presented at the end of the paper. Keywords: Service quality, Kano’s Model, Quality Function Deployment, Service Performance, Voiceof Customer, House of Quality

This paper purposed is to apply Quality Function Deployment (QFD) for Parking System Improvement at Taman Bendahara from perspective of customers. The main issue for the QFD problem was from the ‘what’ the customer requirement and ‘how’ to implement the problem to solutions. These two components emphasized on the House of Quality (HOQ) matrices. For this research, a systematic procedure is used in QFD method by applying a factor analysis and correlation Spearman. Factor analysis is the best group identified from the data and reduced the unused items. As for the correlation Spearman, it was used in order to see the relationship and strength of each factor. The result in this research identified four best group criteria which are availability, layout and design, safety and access point. These four criteria indicate the main improvement needed for parking system. By using the QFD method, the management of parking system at Taman Bendahara should listen to the customers’ voice to seek a solution for these issues. This study proposed strategy can be applied for others management to identify the solution for parking problems.

In the current, highly competitive marketplace, customer demand is a major factor in the product design process. Most firms make an effort to indicate that their products differ from the competitors' products. The purpose of this paper is to understand customers' expectations of and technical requirements for e-stores and to evaluate most popular e-stores in Turkey (i.e., ES1, ES2, ES3). In this study, the authors aim to understand the customer expectations and technical requirements by using quality function deployment (QFD). To prepare the house of quality (HoQ), the authors surveyed 20 experts who are customers who have elite membership (their expenses for these e-stores are more than regular customers and have elite cards) of the three e-stores and academicians. After creating the HoQ, the authors employ fuzzy linear regression to evaluate the relationships between customer expectations and technical requirements and among technical requirements themselves. Finally, the authors use zero-one goal programming (ZOGP) to select the most desirable e-store.

A supplier selection process mainly involves evaluation of different alternative suppliers based on different criteria. This process can be handled as a combination of the customer needs and the technical requirements. Also customers can be considered as the companies to purchase the suppliers’ technical expertise. Hence, this kind of relationship can be analyzed as a house of quality model typical of quality function deployment (QFD). This paper develops a supplier evaluation approach based on the analytic network process (ANP), QFD, and the technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) methods to help an investment bank in Turkey as a real world application. Fuzzy logic is used to capture the vagueness in people’s verbal assessments. In the first phase, matrices used to define the importance of the supplier selection criteria and the technical requirements are calculated with the fuzzy ANP method. The technical requirements and the criteria are combined in the house of quality to evaluate the relationship between them. In the second phase, fuzzy TOPSIS is used to rank the suppliers based on the weighted criteria obtained from the first phase. The study was followed by the sensitivity analysis of the results.

Ventilated facades are one of the most durable and attractive ways of finishing a building facade. The weight of cladding panels and substructure elements of ventilated facades is transferred into building structure via carrier brackets (mounting brackets). This article is focused on resistance to vertical load which is one of the basic technical requirements that need to be met by facades carrier brackets inside the European Union, defined in European Technical Approval Guidelines – ETAG 034. FEM models of carrier brackets were presented, and the results of a non-linear analysis were described. The results of the numerical analysis were verified by means of laboratory testing. The article examines the influence of adopting various material stress-strain diagrams in FEM models on calculation results, especially when pertaining to the viability of applying a diagram in accordance with the continuous strength method (CSM). Based on the laboratory tests and the analysis of the FEM models it was shown which part of the carrier bracket is its weakest link and is decisive for its load-bearing capacity. The relationship between serviceability limit state and ultimate limit state for stainless steel brackets with various overhangs was also presented.
