The COVID-19 pandemic caused educational institutions across the world to face a new reality: when teachers and students do not share the same physical space (fractured ecologies), drastic changes in the everyday procedures and routines of teaching become an immediate necessity. In this paper, we trace some of the effects of this new situation in online classes of three experienced university teachers in the early days of the pandemic. We zoom in on dimensions of the classroom interface such as: turn-taking procedures, socialization, peer scaffolding and feedback; strategic footing changes across institutional and conversational roles; joking and humor. Not surprisingly, we found that the systematic absence of multimodal contextualization cues like gaze direction and tracing the origin of sound/speech were a trouble source in these online multiparty settings. We also saw, however, that teachers and students were successful in reinventing themselves and in devising new ways to deal with the changed circumstances. We end the paper with a number of implications for research into the classroom interface, both online and offline.

Abstract COVID-19 has become a worldwide health crisis. Around March 2020, the entire country was shut down, including schools. This resulted in significant changes in the lives of children. In this study, the researcher conducted a keyword network analysis utilizing Ucinet ver 6.716 and NetDraw ver 2.173, after gathering the data using Textom in order to examine the current status of the rights of children in a COVID-19 pandemic. The findings of this study were that the degree centrality was higher with poverty, educational institutions, parents, teachers, income support, child care, child-rearing, caring, online classes, and child welfare, etc. Therefore, it can be said that there is an urgent need for the implementation of the respect of the rights of children all over the world in this COVID-19 pandemic.

Higher education throughout the world is undergoing various processes of change, pressurised by demands to provide education for greater numbers of students and to do so using a variety of models of increasing number and diversity. Among these changes, the use of new technologies to support learning is attracting significant amounts of attention as university teachers and students seek to make the best use of the opportunities which they provide to both modernise learning methods and make learning and teaching more effective.


The article is devoted to strengthening the role and importance of online learning and digital competence of teachers and students in the context of globalization and accelerating scientific and technological progress. A comparative analysis of the development of ICT, relevant electronic devices and the introduction of open online courses in the world is done. The main difficulties, shortcomings and achievements in the process of accelerating the dynamics and scale of application of online and distance learning during the lockdown period caused by the coronavirus pandemic are defined. The examples of Ukraine and the European Union show a significant difference between the countries of the world in terms of the development of material and technical base of educational institutions, digital infrastructure, access to high-quality and high-speed Internet, readiness of teachers and students to study in new conditions. There is a significant gap between global scientific and technological development and digital competence of citizens. Based on the use of historical, logical, comparative methods, principles and laws of dialectics argues the need for a deeper and more systematic theoretical understanding of current trends in ICT, rapid improvement of digital competence, especially the teaching staff. The importance of introducing in-depth, systematic and systematic research in Ukraine to assess the available technical resources, quality and prospects of digital infrastructure, the level of digital competence of citizens, the dynamics of online training courses, the impact of the social environment on education. The subject of analysis and strategic decision-making in the field of national digital policy should be relevant social, political, economic and technological problems in the country, improving the legal framework, technical re-equipment of educational institutions of all levels, increasing motivation, especially teaching staff for self-improvement and digital competence.


“Be the change you want to see in the world.” The petrifying and severe impact of COVID-19 has shaken the world to its core. Later, most of the Governments around the world have temporarily closed educational institutions in an attempt to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. In India, 320 million students have been affected by COVID-19 school closures, and though the government quickly recommended shifting to “online teaching.” Many of the government institutions are lacking of facilities to conduct online classes. Many teachers are to be updating them to challenge this situation otherwise leads to job threat. This paper with an objective to study out whether the faculties are ready to face challenges due to online teaching and to identify who among male and female are feeling more threat for their jobs due to online teaching.

This article aims to elaborate on the dynamics of the implementation of Indonesian education using the perspective of Paul Virilio's space for acceleration as a form of the phase of acceleration space during the Covid-19 crisis. Starting from the fact that education as the standard determining the country's progress has experienced segregation during the Covid-19 pandemic. Activities related to the transfer of knowledge, which can usually be carried out in a physical space with clear boundaries of space and distance, such as in educational institutions, suddenly shift to a space that is no longer limited by space and distance. These conditions then produce various dynamics that have an impact on the implementation of education. Because the use of space for acceleration in the world of education will have a significant impact on science. This is increasingly interesting, especially in connection with the condition of Indonesia, which still has various unresolved homework in the world of education. The data in this article were obtained from books, news, research reports, journals, and internet sources. By using a qualitative exploratory method through a literature approach to answering the question of how the dynamics of the implementation of Indonesian education in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic in Paul Virilio's space for acceleration, it is known that online learning is a place to capitalize on the commodification of education through media platforms as an arena for implementing education. Besides, inequality in the distribution of capital such as facilities and access to learning creates increasingly visible gaps in society. Then the use of space for acceleration leads to a crisis of intelligence and a crisis of civilization in a country due to the inadequate implementation of education during the Covid 19 period.

Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a widespread shift to online education around the world and in Hungary, too. Educational institutions from kindergartens to universities were forced to adapt rapidly to this new situation, when the space of education moved from classrooms to online video meetings; the regular methods and tools needed to be changed or modified. Nonetheless, we should keep in mind that online education itself was an already existing concept before the pandemic as part of digitalization as a current societal megatrend, however it was not widely used in educational institutions across different programs. By 2021, there are university students who have mostly or exclusively participated in higher education online. Online classes could be a new normal situation to these students instead of the pre-pandemic personal activities in physical classrooms, leading to altering the norms of participation. In our research, we collected answers to open-ended sentences from such students. As we wish to understand how students perceive the differences between online and offline education, we investigated the perceived advantages and disadvantages of online-only education, how this influenced their social networks, study efficiency and their whole experience in university education.

This article studies the problem of distance teaching in the pandemic of spring and autumn 2020. The topic of the necessary transition to the computer-mediated interrelation between university teachers and students gains important nowadays, as the worldwide events lead to an inevitable transformation of the educational structure. The changes in the higher educational institutions make students and teaсhers review their attitude to the system and methods of education. We can find the analysis of distance learning in many sources, but the remote learning in state of emergency has not been fully examined. The purpose of this article is to analyze the situation, connected with the distance learning in higher educational institutions, its impact on the level of students’ knowledge and skills. This article gives the perspectives of education taking into consideration information and communication technologies. The authors have conducted the theoretical and comparative analysis of literature, observed the learning process at university, and offered a questionnaire to university teachers and students. The researchers have revealed that, in spite of the technologies being a part of our lives, the quality of education depends on teachers who can use these technologies to their best. A technology without a person does not work. According to the majority of the respondents, the principles of teaching dominate over technologies. However, some elements of teaching should be definitely automated. The pandemic revealed the specific mistakes and weaknesses of high education in Russia, and the authors suggest some ways for its improvement in the period of sanitary and epidemiological restrictions.

The Covid-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia has a very significant impact on education. The spread of that virus is not only in Indonesia but throughout the world, so many learning processes run down. Educational institutions have been closed due to concerns about the Covid-19 expansion. The spread of the virus is very fast, but learning must be carried out through an online process without a face-to-face meeting. However, the digital world made the safest way to break the chain of spreading the coronavirus outbreak because getting an education is students' right without neglecting their health and mental safety. Digital technology which greatly helps the teacher using the learning media throughout applications can facilitate the relationship between teachers and students in the learning process, even though many obstacles and adjustments were made than the previous face to face learning.

Information and Communication Technologies have become more prevalent in the last few years and has made a great impact on society. Worldwide, a lot of education programs offer new forms of education that are frequently supported by information and communication technology (ICT) to cater to young minds. E-learning in particular has been adopted by educational institutions all over the world and it is being used as a part of “blended learning” where it is incorporated into systems along with traditional classroom learning. Nowadays, it has become more relevant than ever due to the COVID-19 pandemic that the world is facing. Although these systems differ from classroom learning, they allow easy communication among teachers and students at any time necessary and provide an entire repository for students to use. For teachers, it acts as an environment for creating courses, assignments, giving feedback and grading students. In this paper, two such E-learning platforms namely Moodle and Google Classroom are compared and contrasted based on their usability and simplicity.

Subject. This article examines the possibilities of transforming the relations between the center and the regions in Russia. Topic. Problems of regional policy in Russia in the context of foreign experience. Purposes. To analyze some aspects of regional policy in different countries of the world to understand the possibilities of regional transformation in the Russian Federation. Methodology. Institutional and neoinstitutional methods, system approach, comparative method. Results. Each system of government has a» corridor « of improvement, which is associated with certain difficulties on the way to implementation. Regional policy in Russia tends to be centralized, which may limit the opportunities for regional development. At the same time, there is a need to maintain a single vertical of power and avoid the risks associated with decentralization. Application area. The results of the study can be applied by specialists in the field of regional policy and political management, teachers and students of higher educational institutions. Conclusions. The coronavirus pandemic has led to the activation of regional activities and the actualization of the regional agenda, while the 2020 constitutional reform is focused on strengthening the center and consolidating the vertical. Russia needs to avoid both the risks of over-centralization and the risks of excessive decentralization, while taking into account the specifics of individual regions.
