A new nano-soil stabilizer (N-MBER, Nanometer Material Becoming Earth into Rock) material was developed in this research by using the high activity and ultrafine properties of nano-SiO2 (NS), which were able to improve the properties of cement-based soil stabilizer and had broad application prospects. The results showed that (1) the strength of N-MBER obeyed a compound function relation with curing period and additive amount of NS. The relationship between strength and curing period obeyed an exponential function when the additive amount was constant. The strength and additive amount were a power function when the curing period was fixed. The compressive strength of N-MBER increased by more than 15% compared with MBER at day 28 of the curing period, and 50% compared with grade 32.5 cement. (2) The pozzolanic catalytic activity of NS significantly increased the amount of calcium silicate hydrate gel (C–S–H) in the N-MBER colloid. NS was also able to make the distribution of the network structure of colloidal space more uniform and improved the fractal dimension of particles by 0.05. The above results provide theoretical data for exploring the mechanism of soil stabilizer strength growth and for promoting the application of solid waste utilization.

This paper presents the relationship between the dynamic cone penetration (DCP) test results and the unconfined compressive strength of lateritic cemented soils. A series of DCP tests and unconfined compressive strength was performed on lateritic cemented soil. The soils sample used in this study was lateritic soil. The test results for the DCP tests are presented in terms of penetration index. It can be observed that the penetration index decreased with increasing curing period and cement content. Moreover, the unconfined compressive strength of cemented soils increased with curing period and cement content. The relationship between unconfined compressive strength and penetration index is presented. A unique relationship for unconfined compressive strength can be obtained.

Abstract This treatment of the stress-strain behavior of natural rubber is based upon experimental and theoretical data on the cold stretching of high polymers gathered from work being in progress for some time at Marburg. These investigations indicate that deformation processes of matter should not be treated exclusively as purely mechanical phenomena though this is still being done. Especially in the case of natural rubber there exist very thorough analyses of these heat effects caused by deformation. Their theoretical evaluation furnished the basis for the thermodynamic-statistical theory of rubber elasticity. This created the picture of a molecular mechanism which with new additions permitted the description of a host of details including those for stress-strain behavior. However the relationship between the shape of the stress-strain diagrams and any particular deformation condition can only be explained if the actions of the deformational heat effects upon the course of the deformation are considered. In the following an attempt will be made to discuss the actions of the heat effects, in other words to examine the deformation processes as mechanical-thermal ones. Although there are, at present, no experimental results on hand, the expected consequences for the deformational behavior of rubber will be surveyed. Experimental work is in progress.

The demand for High Performance Concrete (HPC) is steadily increasing with massive developments. Conventionally, it is possible to use industrial products such as silica fume (SF), fly ash, as supplementary cementitious materials (SCM), to enhance the attributes of HPC. In recent years, nano-silica (NS) is used as an additive in added mainly to fill up the deviation arises with the addition of SF for HPC. This study aims to optimize the proportion of NS (produced in Vietnam) in the mixture used for fabricating 70 MPa high-performance concrete. SiO2 powder with particle size from 10 to 15 nm were used for mixing. A series of compressive strength test of HPC with nano-SiO2 varied from 0 to 2.8 percent of total of all binders (0%, 1.2%, 2%, 2.8%), and the fixed percentage of silica fume at 8% were proposed. Results show compressive strength increases with the increase of nano-SiO2, but this increase stops after reaching 2%. And at day 28 of the curing period, only concrete mixture containing of 8% silica fume and 2% nano-SiO2, had the highest compressive strength.

The aim of this study was to test the relationship between supervisor support for silence and organizational commitment, as well as testing the relationship between supervisor support for silence and organizational silence behavior.  The study also aimed to identify the relationship between organizational silence behavior and organizational commitment, as well as the test of the mediation role of silence behavior in the relationship between supervisor support for silence and organizational commitment. The study was applied to a sample of (365) employees from Assiut university in Egypt.  The current study used Brinsfield (2009) scale to measure the supervisor support for silence, and organizational silence behavior which was prepared based on several studies (Morrison & Obligation either, Melliken; 2000; Pinder & Harlos, 2001;  Vakola & Buradas, 2005) where the organizational commitment was measured by Morrow (1983).   Data analyzed using the SPSS program Data, as well as the AMOS program to test the quality of compatibility between data collected and theoretical data, and the structural model to test the hypotheses of the study. The study found that there is a negative relationship between the supervisor's support for silence and the organizational commitment. There is a positive correlation between supervisor support for silence and organizational silence behavior and a negative relationship between the behavior of organizational silence and organizational commitment. The study also found that the Organizational Silence behavior mediated the relationship between Supervisor’s support for silence and the Organizational Commitment.  Directions for managerial implications are recommended to Assiut University. The study ended with the limitations and avenues for future research.

In this paper, we present an algorithm about distance calculation based on RSSI of RF. To calculate value of RSSI according to the classic model of signal attenuation, Radio propagation path loss model and formula of received signal strength, establish the relationship chart between the distance and RSSI value. And through the wireless module CC2430 of ETC system for real-time data collection. Compared with the theoretical data and the measured data. Do the correction through calibration model. Resulting more perfect algorithm about distance calculation.

Abstract With the development of virtual reality technology and its application in various fields, how to realize the natural and efficient interaction between human and virtual environment has always been a hot research issue. This paper mainly studies the realistic analysis of the relationship between augmented reality and virtual reality under the background of VR virtual reality. Starting from the research on virtual reality, this paper combines the features of virtual reality with the elements of visual presentation to conduct research on visual presentation in the sensory experience of virtual reality, analyze and find out the types and quantitative methods of visual presentation. This paper is supported by advance research, which is more in line with people’s perceptual needs for visual presentation. This study expands the research content of virtual reality visual presentation, provides guidance for virtual reality design practitioners, and has certain value and practical application prospects.

This study aims to test the relationship between perceived empowering leadership behavior and the work engagement. Also, the mediating role of psychological empowerment in this relation has been examined. The study applied on a sample of 360 employees at the Egyptian cement industry in Upper Egypt. Data was collected using work engagement questionnaire based on the Schaufeli, Salanova, González-Romá, and Bakker (2002) scale. The current study used the scale of the Zhang & Bartol study (2010), prepared by Ahearne et al., (2005) to measure the empowering leadership behaviors. Psychological empowerment has been measured using Spreitzer (1995) and Zhung and Bartol (2010). The study was conducted using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program in data processing for AMOS to test the quality of compatibility between the collected data and the theoretical data, and the structural model to test the study hypotheses. The results did not support the direct relationship between leadership empowered behavior and work engagement. The empowering leadership behavior is positively affecting the psychological empowerment. Psychological empowerment was found to be positively affecting work engagement. However, the psychological empowerment was found to be mediating the relationship between the two variables. The study reached some conclusions related to this relationship and how to have it enhanced in the Cement industry in Upper Egypt.

In this research, the time-dependent changes induced in charge characteristics of phosphoric acid and lime treated quartz-rich kaolinitic soil were investigated. Also, in order to study the relationship between the exchange capacity and the pore water chemistry, pH measurements was performed on cured samples. Based on the collected data, it was found that the pH of stabilized soils showed a tendency for reaching soil’s natural pH with increasing curing time. In addition, the increase in number of broken bonds around the edges of soil particles and also the formation of cementitious compounds that acquired negative charges contributed to achieving higher CECpvalues at longer curing periods. From engineering point of view, the lime treated samples revealed the highest degree of improvement with an approximately 16-fold strength increase in comparison to the natural soil over an 8 months curing period.
