Slow tourism is a growing phenomenon in Italy; it is assuming a key role in the definition of new strategies for sustainable tourism for the enhancement of landscape and cultural heritage, but also as a driver for the revitalization of marginalized and inner areas of the country. In this framework, the aesthetical phenomena related to seasonal landscape changes (e.g., autumn coloring foliage, spring blooming, controlled paddy-rice fields flooding) that occur in specific environments are emerging as new tourist destinations and are of major interest for the experiential tourism sector. This research shows a GIS-based method to draw up parametric slow tourism itineraries, which are defined according to seasonal landscape changes, by exploiting the high frequency of Sentinel-2 data acquisition. The algorithm defines parametric itineraries within the network of existing local roads by detecting the current landscape conditions through NDVI. The algorithm has been tested in the study area, within the historical agricultural landscape of paddy-rice fields in between Turin and Milan, where high scenic conditions related to the flooding occur over the spring season. This tool can support a range of end users’ decisions for the creation of a widespread tourist destination offer year-round, with the aim to promote more sustainable and balanced use of the places and reduce overpressures in the most frequented places.

Cloud cover hinders the effective use of vegetation indices from optical satellite-acquired imagery in cloudy agricultural production areas, such as Guangdong, a subtropical province in southern China which supports two-season rice production. The number of cloud-free observations for the earth-orbiting optical satellite sensors must be determined to verify how much their observations are affected by clouds. This study determines the quantified wide-ranging impact of clouds on optical satellite observations by mapping the annual total observations (ATOs), annual cloud-free observations (ACFOs), monthly cloud-free observations (MCFOs) maps, and acquisition probability (AP) of ACFOs for the Sentinel 2 (2017–2019) and Landsat 8 (2014–2019) for all the paddy rice fields in Guangdong province (APRFG), China. The ATOs of Landsat 8 showed relatively stable observations compared to the Sentinel 2, and the per-field ACFOs of Sentinel 2 and Landsat 8 were unevenly distributed. The MCFOs varied on a monthly basis, but in general, the MCFOs were greater between August and December than between January and July. Additionally, the AP of usable ACFOs with 52.1% (Landsat 8) and 47.7% (Sentinel 2) indicated that these two satellite sensors provided markedly restricted observation capability for rice in the study area. Our findings are particularly important and useful in the tropics and subtropics, and the analysis has described cloud cover frequency and pervasiveness throughout different portions of the rice growing season, providing insight into how rice monitoring activities by using Sentinel 2 and Landsat 8 imagery in Guangdong would be impacted by cloud cover.

Mapping rice cropping systems is important for grain yield prediction and food security assessments. Both single- and double-season rice are the dominant rice systems in central China. However, because of increasing labor shortages and high costs, there has been a gradual decline in double-season rice. Ratoon rice (RR) has been proposed as an alternative system that balances the productivity, cost, and labor requirements of rice cultivation. RR has been expanding in central China, encouraged by the improved cultivars, machinery, and favorable policies. However, to our knowledge, the distribution of RR has not been mapped with remote sensing techniques. This study developed a phenology-based algorithm to map RR at a 10 m resolution in Hubei Province, Central China, using dense time stacks of Sentinel-2 images (cloud cover <80%) in 2018. The key in differentiating RR from the other rice cropping systems is through the timing of maturity. We proposed to use two contrast vegetation indices to identify RR fields. The newly-developed yellowness index (YI) calculated with the reflectance of blue, green, and red bands was used to detect the ripening phase, and the enhanced vegetation index (EVI) was used to detect the green-up of the second-season crop to eliminate the misclassification caused by stubbles left in the field. The RR map demonstrated that RR was mainly distributed in the low alluvial plains of central and southern Hubei Province. The total planting area of RR in 2018 was 2225.4 km2, accounting for 10.03% of the total area of paddy rice fields. The overall accuracy of RR, non-RR rice fields, and non-rice land cover types was 0.76. The adjusted overall accuracy for RR and non-RR was 0.91, indicating that the proposed YI and the phenology-based algorithm could accurately identify RR fields from the paddy rice fields.

Abstract. The current research aims at exploring the relationships between historical agricultural landscapes and sustainable tourism, by combining the potential of aerial and ground observation methods, that are able to detect the seasonal landscape changes. These phenomena are strongly interlaced with the annual cycle of plants, which have many implications for ecological processes, agriculture, health, tourism, regional/urban planning and economy. In many countries, similar phenomena as the timing of spring-blooming or the timing of autumn coloring foliage are of great visual value and can be of touristic interest, so to enhance the overall attractiveness of a territory. The research analyzes the case study of the historical agricultural landscape, localized in the in-between territories Turin and Milan, which is characterized by large portions of paddy-rice fields, which assume different aesthetical configurations over the year. This landscape, made up of an articulated system of waterways that support large portions of rice cultivation, protected natural areas, historical farmhouses, urban settlements, is the result of a long process of interaction between natural elements and human activities. Remote sensing and ground observations can play an important role in a high-accuracy mapping of the seasonal conditions of this kind of landscape. The flooding of paddy-rice fields determines a high scenic value of large portions of the rural landscape, that can be detected through remote sensing. The specificity of rice cultivation is that plants grow on flooded soils. Such a temporary condition of the landscape can become an unexpected tourist destination. From the methodological point of view, the research combines the potential of time series of satellite high-resolution imagery, for computing vegetation indexes (i.e. NDVI, NDWI etc.), and ground observations, through GIS mapping tools. This interpretation tools are useful to trace a network of slow scenic routes that allow perceiving such temporary landscape conditions and that support a territorial strategy aiming at a sustainable development of these fragile territories.

Lampung is one of the provinces that has a considerable tourism potential in which each region has tourism potential with its own unique attraction in South Lampung regency. However, the Tsunami disaster that struck the coastal areas of Banten and South Lampung on 22 Desemeber 2018, impacted the decline in the number of tourists visiting the archipelago and abroad to tourist destinations by the end of year 2018. Based on the problems raised above, the purpose of this research is to describe and analyze the strategy conducted by the Tourism and culture Office of South Lampung Regency in the effort to develop tourism sector in South Lampung district after Tsunami disaster. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research informant is determined purpossive. Data collection techniques are conducted with observations, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out with data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and data triangulation. Data is presented and in a descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the research is known that the Tourism and culture Department of South Lampung district has a strategy to develop tourism potential in South Lampung regency. In determining a strategy for tourism development in South Lampung District after the Tsunami disaster pay attention to four basic factors. These four factors are strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats with some sectors involved in the tourism development process. The conclusion of this research is based on the SWOT anilisis which produces four strategies i.e. SO strategy, WO Strategy, Strategy ST, and WT strategy

Maytenus senegalensis subsp. europaea is a shrub belonging to the Celastraceae family, whose only European populations are distributed discontinuously along the south-eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula, forming plant communities with great ecological value, unique in Europe. As it is an endangered species that makes up plant communities with great palaeoecological significance, the development of species distribution models is of major interest under different climatic scenarios, past, present and future, based on the fact that the climate could play a relevant role in the distribution of this species, as well as in the conformation of the communities in which it is integrated. Palaeoecological models were generated for the Maximum Interglacial, Last Maximum Glacial and Middle Holocene periods. The results obtained showed that the widest distribution of this species, and the maximum suitability of its habitat, occurred during the Last Glacial Maximum, when the temperatures of the peninsular southeast were not as contrasting as those of the rest of the European continent and were favored by higher rainfall. Under these conditions, large territories could act as shelters during the glacial period, a hypothesis reflected in the model’s results for this period, which exhibit a further expansion of M. europaea’s ecological niche. The future projection of models in around 2070, for four Representative Concentration Pathways according to the fifth report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, showed that the most favorable areas for this species would be Campo de Dalías (southern portion of Almería province) as it presents the bioclimatic characteristics of greater adjustment to M. europaea’s ecological niche model. Currently, some of the largest specimens of the species survive in the agricultural landscapes in the southern Spain. These areas are almost totally destroyed and heavily altered by intensive agriculture greenhouses, also causing a severe fragmentation of the habitat, which implies a prospective extinction scenario in the near future.

The Covid-19 pandemic has a major impact on the tourism sector in DIY which causes material losses to Regional Original Income (PAD). This study aims to describe changes in the tourism sector in the conditions before the pandemic, during the pandemic, and the new normal. The results showed that the tourism sector during the pandemic and the new normal era must implement (1) health protocols for the tourism industry such as hotels, restaurants, tourist destinations, and transportation for both visitors and employees by paying attention to cleanliness, health and safety (cleanliness, health, and safety) by providing hygiene facilities such as hand washing and soap, hand sanitizers, and temperature checks with a thermo gun. The hotel even provides isolation rooms for visitors with corona symptoms, (2) Payment using electronic money (cashless). (3) Limiting the number of visitors to prevent crowds and provide a safe distance to minimize spread, and (4) Tourist locations are opened gradually by prioritizing low-risk areas such as natural and mountainous areas. The sector developed in Indonesia at this time is the tourism sector. The purpose of this study is to find out how the development of attractions, supporting and inhibiting factors, and formulate strategies in the development of tourism objects in Rejang Lebong Regency. This research uses descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. Data in this study were collected through interviews, documentation, observation and data triangulation. The analysis technique used in writing uses the SWOT analysis and Litmust Test to be reduced, presented and concluded. The results of research strategies for developing tourism objects in Rejang Lebong Regency are still not maximal, because there are many weaknesses in each component in the tourism area which become a benchmark for the development of Bengkulu Province tourist destinations, Rejang Lebong. The influencing factors are internal factors, namely strengths and weaknesses and external factors, namely opportunities and threats. Based on these factors, researchers can reformulate the strategy in the development of attractions in Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province

В статье рассмотрено пространственное распределение типов земель в пределах трансграничного бассейна р. Раздольная. На основе дешифрирования космических снимков Sentinel-2 и Landsat 8 составлена карта пространственного распределения типов земель по состоянию на 2019 г. Исходя из геоэкологической классификации ландшафтов В.А. Николаева в данной работе было выделено 12 типов земель: используемые и неиспользуемые сельскохозяйственные земли, используемые и неиспользуемые рисовые поля, карьеры, леса, лесопосадки, рубки, луга, застроенные земли, водные объекты, а также кустарники и редколесья. Представлены абсолютные и относительные площади для каждого типа земель по трансграничному бассейну в целом, а также отдельно для его российской и китайской частей. По результатам дешифрирования данных дистанционного зондирования установлено, что российская и китайская части бассейна р. Раздольная имеют существенные трансграничные различия в структуре земель. На российской части бассейна лесами покрыто чуть более половины площади, но при этом значительные площади занимают сельскохозяйственные земли и луга. В некоторых местах луга и сельскохозяйственные земли преобладают в большей степени, чем леса. На китайской части лесные территории доминируют над другими типами земель. Сельскохозяйственные земли и луга образуют узкие и длинные полосы и имеют более мозаичное распространение, чем на российской части. Здесь заметно меньше площади застроенных земель, а площади рубок и лесопосадок больше, чем на российской части. Площади карьеров примерно равны в обеих частях бассейна. The transboundary Razdolnaya river basin is nearly evenly split up between Primorsky Krai of Russian Federation and Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces of People’s Republic of China. The Chinese and the Russian parts of the transboundary river have developed independently of each other. Therefore, the two have a different land cover and land use structure. The analysis of land cover and land use structure is of utmost importance for the understanding the modern state of land development and the possibilities of its future development. Using the remote sensing data, such as Sentinel-2 and Landsat 8 satellite imagery, the land cover and land use map of the Razdolnaya transboundary river basin for 2019 has been composed by means of the ArcMap 10.5 software package. According to V.A. Nikolaev’s geoecological classification of landscapes, we have identified 12 land types: forests, meadows, shrubs and woodlands, agricultural lands, unused agricultural lands, rice fields, unused rice fields, built-up areas, reforestation lands, logging, quarries, and bodies of water. We have provided area coverage for each type of land of the whole transboundary basin, and for the Russian and Chinese parts. According to the results of computer-aided visual deciphering and automatic deciphering, forests are the most common land use type in the basin. In the Chinese part of the basin, forests dominate over the other types of land. Agricultural lands and meadows have assumed narrow and linear shapes. Built-up areas have less coverage here than in the Russian part of the basin. However, the coverage of logging and reforestation lands is considerably larger than in the Russian part of the basin. In the Russian part of the basin, forests co-dominate with the agricultural lands and meadows. In some areas of this part of the basin forests disappear almost completely. The Russian part of the basin also has the larger coverage of shrubs and woodlands, unused agricultural lands, rice fields and unused rice fields. The coverage of quarries is roughly equal in both parts of the basin.

Urgency of the research. The need to improve the ter-minology of the recreation and tourism sector is due to the emergence of new forms of business organization and the emergence of innovative institutions that significantly affect the processes of socio-economic development. Target setting. There is a scientific problem with the disclosure of the content of innovation in tourism, the innova-tion policy in the recreation-tourism sector, the definition of the innovation policy components, the mechanisms for its formation and implementation. Actual scientific researches and issues analysis. The literature reflects the evolution of the concept of "innovation in tourism." There are typologies and examples of such innovations. The examples of application of the latest innova-tive technologies at the Ukrainian tourism market are ana-lyzed and presented. Uninvestigated parts of general matters defining. The accumulated theoretical material requires the synthesis and development of methodological recommendations for the formation and implementation of innovation policy in the rec-reational and tourist sector of Ukraine. There is not a single standardized definition of innovation and innovation policy in tourism in the scientific community. The research objective. To reveal the meaning of the definitions: "Innovations in tourism", "Innovation policy in the recreation-tourism sphere". To generalize existing typologies of innovations in tourism. Identify the main factors hampering the implementation of information technology in the recrea-tion-tourism sector of Ukraine. To reveal the main directions of information support of the innovation policy realization process in the recreation-tourism sphere. The statement of basic materials. The article presents the existing definitions of the terms "innovation in tourism", "innovation policy in tourism". The author's interpretation of these terms is given. The existing classification of innova-tions in tourism is generalized. Examples of such innovations are given. The most common information technologies of-fered for use in tourism are presented. These factors re-strain the effective implementation of information technology in tourism. Conclusions. The effectiveness of state innovation poli-cy can be estimated by the impact on the pace of entrepre-neurship, the level of harmonization of innovation policy in society and stimulation of scientific development.
