Antimicrobials help in the prevention and treatment of infections and are crucial for animal production, but overuse can result in antimicrobial resistance. Hence, understanding data quality on livestock antimicrobial use is essential. We assessed frequency of reporting, completeness, and concordance of reported data and availability of human resources and infrastructure in 14 districts in Sierra Leone. This was a cross-sectional study involving a review of district and sub-district animal treatment forms submitted from January 2016 to August 2019. Out of the 14 districts, only 3 had filled forms available for review: A total of 6 (0.97% of 616 expected) district forms and 79 (1.15% of 6840 expected) sub-district forms. Data between district and sub-district treatment forms were fully discordant. Hence, completeness of data could not be assessed. All districts had livestock officers (barring one) and livestock assistants but no veterinarians. The gap in community animal health workers ranged from 14 to 100% per district. No districts had a functional computer or internet access. Reporting was non-existent in 11 districts and poor in the other 3. Resources are urgently needed to address critical gaps in human resources and capacity and computer and Internet connectivity to develop critical One Health surveillance functions at the national and sub-national levels.

Malaria accounted for 18% of all deaths in the ethnic communities of Myanmar. In this cross-sectional study, we assessed the extent of and factors associated with receipt of quality malaria treatment services provided by integrated community malaria volunteer (ICMV) under six ethnic health organisations. Data of people with malaria diagnosed by rapid diagnostic tests during 2017–2018 were extracted from the ICMV registers. Documentation of prescribing a complete course of drugs was used to assess quality. Of 2881 people with malaria, village-based ICMV diagnosed and treated 2279 (79%) people. Overall, 2726 (95%) people received correct drugs in the correct dose and adequate duration appropriate to malaria species, age and pregnancy status while 1285 (45%) people received ‘correct and timely (within 24 h of fever)’ treatment. Children under five years, those with severe malaria, mixed infection and falciparum malaria were less likely to receive the correct treatment. When compared to health posts, village-based ICMVs and mobile teams performed better in providing correct treatment and mobile teams in providing ‘correct and timely’ treatment. This calls for ensuring the early presentation of people to health workers within 24 h of undifferentiated fever through health promotion initiatives. Future studies should assess adherence to medication and clinical improvement.

Background: Leprosy can affect the quality of life (QOL) of a person in many ways. Deformities and disabilities in leprosy leads to physical impairment. The stigma associated with leprosy leads to social isolation, which affects patient psychologically. By assessing the QOL would give an in-depth understanding of the effects on leprosy in different dimensions of health.Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the QOL of 572 adult leprosy patients attending clinics in the western province using a locally validated Sinhala version of the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. Consecutive sampling method was used and data were collected using an interviewer-administered questionnaire (IAQ). The scores ranged from 1 to 5 for overall QOL and overall general health questions.Results: The overall QOL had a mean score of 3.4 (SD=0.8) and overall general health had a mean of 3.6 (SD=2.2). The mean scores of domains of WHOQOL-BREF included physical 69.8 (SD=17.1), psychological 68.2 (SD=16.6), social 55.1 (SD=25.0), environment 64 (SD=18.3) in the sample. With regards to socio-demographic factors, a higher QOL was observed in patients <60 years, male sex, passed O/L or above and currently employed with an income of rupees forty thousand (200$) or more and living in a permanent house. Higher QOL was also observed in patients without disability and who perform daily activities alone.Conclusions: QOL of leprosy patients was higher in physical, psychological, environment domains and was lower in the social domain. Continuous awareness programmes should be conducted for health workers and community to early identification, which reduces disabilities and improve QOL.

Background: Hospital Minimum Service Standards (SPM) are provisions for hospitals issued by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in the context of government efforts to ensure the quality of hospital services. This Minimum Service Standard can be used as a guideline for the quality of service for every hospital in Indonesia. The Minimum Service Standard (SPM) is a quality guideline issued by the Minister of Health regarding the minimum service that must be provided by the hospital, where each hospital is required to assess and provide services in accordance with the Minimum Service Standards (SPM). Objectives: A study to analyze the implementation of minimum service standards in the Emergency Department (IGD) Regional General Hospital (RSUD) I Lagaligo, East Luwu. Methods: The research used in this research is descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional approach, in which all observed variables are measured simultaneously when the research is taking place. This research was conducted in the Emergency Room Installation Room (IGD) Regional General Hospital (RSUD) I Lagaligo East Luwu. Sample selection with total sampling technique. The research subjects were 33 respondents in the IGD Lagaligo Wotu East Luwu Regional Hospital. Results: Infrastructure and human resources with minimum service standards. The results showed that the results of the bivariate analysis used the Chi-Square Test. It shows that there is a relationship between infrastructure and minimum service standards with a value of p = 0.008, there is a relationship between human resources and minimum service standards with a value of p = 0.000. Conclusion: There are infrastructure facilities that can be used directly by health workers for the benefit of patients in the form of tools, materials, comfortable rooms and others. The human resources in the emergency department of Lagaligo Wotu Hospital are of good quality.

Background: Data on the achievement of minimum service standards at Bahteramas Hospital shows that several programs have not reached the specified Minimum Service Standards, namely the availability of facilities and operating equipment (34.37), customer satisfaction (74.04%) from the standard ?80%, time provision of medical records (30 minutes) from standard 10 minutes, completeness of informed concent (67.75%) of ?80%. Observing the development of human resources at the Bahteramas Hospital has not been carried out optimally, for example, such as a standardized selection and recruitment process, support for facilities, infrastructure and technology, individual commitment to organization, leadership commitment and employee work relations themselves. The purpose of this research is to analyze factors related to the quality of human resources at the Bahteramas Regional General Hospital, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Methods: Quantitative research using a cross sectional study design.The population in this study amounted to 981 people. The number of samples in this study were 277 people. The sample was determined by simple random sampling technique. The data were obtained using the testchi square. Result: The test results using the chi square statistical test, it is known that the value of the selection variable (22,378> 3,841), the value of the training variable (18,658> 3,841), the value of the individual commitment variable (38,863> 3,841), the value of the reward variable (51,784> 3,841), the value of the skill variable (94,713> 3,841). Conclusion: There is a relationship between selection and the quality of human resources, there is a relationship between training and the quality of human resources, there is a relationship between individual commitment and the quality of human resources, there is a relationship between reward and the quality of human resources, there is a relationship between skills and the quality of human resources.

Inpatient unit of Bhakti Rahayu Hospital as one potential revenue center for the hospital expected to be able to support an increas the income of the hospital. The issue of this research is the decrease trend of Bed Occupancy rate 48,96% with trend -15,79%.This research aims to  increas the quality of inpatient services care in Bhakti Rahayu Hospital based on planning matrix. This research was in inpatient unit Bhakti Rahayu Hospital with an descriptive design cross sectional study of the 80 patients who are representing inpatient hospitalization were taken by simple random sampling. Data was collected by using questionnaires distributed to patients and analysed by quantitative methods arranged in the planning matrix table. The results showed that inpatient services quality has not met the standards of good service so that the service implementation need improvement and enhancement services primarily on aspects of the physical and human resources. The conclusions showed that to increase the quality of health care based on internal factors was very important. Physical aspects and human resources are the top priority to fix up.Keywords:services quality, planning matrix, inpatient unit

Background: Sleep is basic physiological requirement. Sleep quality have impact on employee behaviour like alertness at work, error-making and absenteeism. The sleep disorders of nurses and other allied health workers have been reported as a risk factor for patient safety.Studies have found high prevalence of poor sleep quality among nurses. Main objective of this study was aimed to find out the morningness, eveningness chronotypes and sleep quality among allied health workers in shift work.Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out among nursing and other allied health workers working in shifts using Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) and morningness-eveningness questionnaire (MEQ). After final scores participants were categorized as having good or bad quality of sleep and different chronotypes as per the scoring guidelines given. Chi-square test, Pearson’s partial correlation analyses done using SPSS software.Results: Only 26.9% had good quality sleep (mean PSQI score 8.9±4.5). Among chronotypes 69.9% were intermediateness and 30.1% were moderate morningness (mean MEQ score 55.5±7). 87.1% participants go to sleep within one hour after dinner. 40% use mobile phones in bed. 31.2% took up to 30 mins (mean 22.15±13.8) to get asleep. Strong negative correlation found between the sleep hours and total PSQI score (r=-0.495; p=0.000).Conclusions: Higher prevalence of poor quality of sleep with intermediateness as preferred circadian chronotype, there was also a strong negative correlation found between the hours of sound sleep and the total PSQI score.

Quality of care plays an important role in the status of tuberculosis (TB) control, by influencing timely diagnosis, treatment adherence, and treatment completion. In this study, we aimed at establishing the quality of TB service care in Kamuli district health care centres using Donabedian structure, process, and outcomes model of health care. A cross-sectional study was conducted in 8 health care facilities, among 20 health care workers and 392 patients. Data was obtained using face-to-face interviews, an observation guide, a check list, and record review of the TB unit and laboratory registers. Data entry and analysis were done using EPI INFO 2008 and STATA 10 versions, respectively. A high number 150 (87.21%) of TB patients were not aware of all the signs to stop TB medication, and 100 (25.51%) patients received laboratory results after a period of 3–5 working days. The major challenges faced by health workers were poor attitude of fellow health workers, patients defaulting treatment, and fear of being infected with TB. One of the worst performance indicators was low percentage of cure. Comprehensive strengthening of the health system focusing on quality of support supervisions, patient follow up, promoting infection control measures, and increasing health staffing levels at health facilities is crucial.

Abstract Background: In Yemen the epidemiology of COVID19 is uncertain. Yemen received the first batch of AstraZeneca vaccine in April 2021 and the vaccine campaign starts officially on 20 April 2021 with limited utilization. Media play a negative role about AstraZeneca vaccine safety and efficacy.Objectives: to investigate the acceptance of People and health workers in Mukalla city in Hadharmout (at eastern Yemen) toward the COVID-19 vaccine.Methodology: This is a cross-sectional study to collect data from a convenience sample of health workers and other people during the first week of April 2021. Results: A total of 321 persons agree to participate in the study. Only 9% of the participants and 22% of health workers have knowledge about the COVID19 vaccine, only 15% of people and 26% of health workers agree to get the vaccine while 241 participants (75%) hesitated to get the vaccine. The most reasons for vaccine hesitancy were: the vaccine were arrived to Yemen of bad quality (69%), while 48% of hesitated participants said that the vaccine is unsafe, other reasons for unacceptance the vaccine are: regional believes (38%), other countries stop the vaccine (37%) while 16% of refused participants said that the reason is that the virus is subject to mutation so no need to vaccinate. Conclusions: Lack of knowledge about COVID-19 vaccine and high level of vaccine hesitancy were reported, the most frequent reasons for not accepted the vaccine are: bad quality of the vaccine and doubts about vaccine safety.

Background: Health human resources has always been considered a very important component of the health system, is a key element to ensure the effectiveness and quality of medical services. Health care needs of the people has increased, they require higher and higher requirements for health workers both in quantity and quality. Therefore, we conducted a study situation review of the health human resources in some provinces of the central and the Central Highlands region. Subjects and Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study of health workers which works at the Health Department of Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak based on health workforce reports. Results: The number of health workers per 10,000 population was 34.9; the prevelance of health workers with postgraduate qualifications is 9.3%, graduate qualifications was 20.7%, 2nd degree is 62.3%. The number of medical physician per 10,000 persons was 5.8, the prevelance of medical physician with a graduate qualifications was 50.5%; postgraduate qualifications is 49.5%, medical physician at the provincial level accounted for 46.8%, district level (33,9%) and commune level (19.3%).
