In the present investigation, the evaluation carried out with different methods served to determine the level of production and the economic competitiveness of livestock projects. The evaluation of the project aims to identify the advantages and disadvantages associated with the investment, so the implemented analysis method is useful for making rational decisions regarding different alternatives, especially when a development program is involved in the project, such as This is the case of the "Reliable Supplier" Program in livestock farming. Methods used that served to provide more accurate information on the generation of income and the level of competitiveness of companies, is the financial analysis and evaluation. Only the monetary aspect of the project is considered, with the objective of determining its profitability in terms of money flow. The research starts from the study of the “Reliable Supplier” Program, which focuses on the eradication of the use of Clenbuterol in animal feed, making meat producers aware of the importance of developing procedures that reduce the potential of contaminants in food, that can damage the final product, and that generate a health problem for consumers.

Dieser Fachartikel geht auf die negativen Auswirkungen technischer Nebenzeiten für die Effizienz von Produktionsprozessen in der automobilen Großserienproduktion ein. Er zeigt in der Übersicht, welche Methoden sich zur Erfassung technischer Nebenzeiten eignen und welche Vor- und Nachteile sie besitzen. Nur mit diesen Erfassungsmethoden lässt sich eine effektive Minimierung von technischen Nebenzeiten erreichen. Anschließend wird ein dreistufiges Analyseverfahren präsentiert.   This article discusses the negative effects of non-productive times on the efficiency of production processes in automotive mass production. An overview shows which methods are suitable for the recording of non-productive times and their advantages and disadvantages. These recording methods are essential for the effective minimization of non-productive times. Subsequently, an analysis method, which is composed of three steps, is presented.

Theoretical basis Students need to know basic capital budgeting techniques to value INFINITI and its competitors. Issues include how to: handle taxes in a discounted cash flow analysis when valuing an S Corp. where incentives depend on current (known) and future (unknown) tax provisions; value a firm using comparable multiples analysis and transactions data; assess the costs and benefits of acquiring a firm versus being acquired; and analyze an industry and perform a ratio and financial statement analysis. Research methodology The case information was obtained through interviews with co-founder Mark Schwaiger. In addition, the authors researched industry and comparable company data, along with current events relating to the professional employer organization (PEO). Financial data was obtained from the owners and competitor data was obtained from Thomson One and Bloomberg. Case overview/synopsis INFINITI HR was a PEO providing comprehensive human resources to their clients. Co-founders Scott Smrkovski and Mark Schwaiger were at a crossroads at the end of 2015 trying to determine the best course of action to take with their company to grow and prosper. One option was for INFINITI to be acquired by a larger company and the second option was for INFINITI acquire a smaller company. In this case, students have the opportunity to do a financial analysis and evaluation of INFINITI and its competitors to determine which option is the best. Complexity academic level This case is intended for an advanced undergraduate or an MBA corporate finance class.

A fundamental task in photogrammetry is the temporal stability analysis of a camera/imaging-system’s calibration parameters. This is essential to validate the repeatability of the parameters’ estimation, to detect any behavioural changes in the camera/imaging system and to ensure precise photogrammetric products. Many stability analysis methods exist in the photogrammetric literature; each one has different methodological bases, and advantages and disadvantages. This paper presents a simple and rigorous stability analysis method that can be straightforwardly implemented for a single camera or an imaging system with multiple cameras. The basic collinearity model is used to capture differences between two calibration datasets, and to establish the stability analysis methodology. Geometric simulation is used as a tool to derive image and object space scenarios. Experiments were performed on real calibration datasets from a dual fluoroscopy (DF; X-ray-based) imaging system. The calibration data consisted of hundreds of images and thousands of image observations from six temporal points over a two-day period for a precise evaluation of the DF system stability. The stability of the DF system – for a single camera analysis – was found to be within a range of 0.01 to 0.66 mm in terms of 3D coordinates root-mean-square-error (RMSE), and 0.07 to 0.19 mm for dual cameras analysis. It is to the authors’ best knowledge that this work is the first to address the topic of DF stability analysis.

Introduction. Achieving the key goals of the business object is possible through timely and rational diagnosis of the financial condition of the enterprise. To date, the company's management faces many questions to assess the financial condition. Therefore, the definition of the essence, the description of the factors of formation and the definition of ways to increase the financial result of the enterprise is one of the relevant areas of research. The purpose of the paper is to determine the theoretical foundations and practical approaches to the analysis and evaluation of the enterprise. Results. The mechanism of financial diagnostics of development and safe activity should be built in such a way that the negative impact of different types of destructive factors can be detected and quickly eliminated through regularity and verification. Assessment of a set of indicators makes it possible to identify factors that directly affect the financial condition of the enterprise and timely make the necessary management decisions to improve it. Diagnosing the financial condition and sustainability of the enterprise includes two main stages: rapid diagnosis and fundamental diagnosis. stages of the capital cycle, because financial difficulties can arise in any of them. Considering the system of factors influencing the financial condition of the enterprise, we can say that the greatest attention in the process of its management should be paid to the factors of internal influence, because these are the elements an entity can manage. Conclusion. To carry out successful activities in modern conditions of development, it is important to maintain an effective process of enterprise management, which consists in finding and making the most effective decisions and, accordingly, practical justification. Therefore, we can conclude that for a successful financial analysis of the enterprise, the right method and indicators must be chosen that can better describe the essence of the financial condition of the enterprise.

Sweet white lupin (Lupinus albus) is an emerging crop in Ontario and, in 1993, up to 600 ha acres of lupin were planted. This crop is adapted to cool and moderately warm climates, is frost-resistant to −2 °C, requires sandy to loamy soils, requires inoculation with Bradyrhizobium sp. to achieve high yields, and improves soil structure and nutrients when included in a crop rotation. The crop requires 119–135 d to mature and is thermosensitive; both traits can reduce yield in seasons with unfavourable environments. The crop is not particularly competitive with weeds and effective weed control is a critical factor in crop production. Lupin is attacked by several pathogens and insects but knowledge on appropriate pest management practices needs to be improved. The harvested seed of sweet white lupin is primarily used as an on-farm source of protein. Seeds do not require heat treatment prior to being used as animal feed and can be included as a part of the protein component in the diets of ruminants, swine and poultry. High protein digestibility and high fibre content of lupin seeds can limit incorporation into the diets of ruminants and swine, respectively. Lupin can be beneficial in human diets because milk from lupin-fed animals contains more unsaturated fatty acids and less saturated fatty acids than milk from animals fed soybean meal. Sweet white lupin has several advantages and disadvantages as an emerging crop in Ontario, but additional research and development are needed. Key words: Lupin (sweet white), Lupinus albus

Background In randomized clinical trials with censored time-to-event outcomes, the logrank test is known to have substantial statistical power under the proportional hazards assumption and is widely adopted as a tool to compare two survival distributions. However, the proportional hazards assumption is impossible to validate in practice until the data are unblinded. However, the statistical analysis plan of a randomized clinical trial and in particular its primary analysis method must be pre-specified before any unblinded information may be reviewed. Purpose The purpose of this article is to guide applied biostatisticians in the prespecification of a desired primary analysis method when a treatment effect with nonproportional hazards is anticipated. While articles proposing alternate statistical tests are aplenty, to the best of our knowledge, there is no article available that attempts to simplify the choice and prespecification of a primary statistical test under specific expected patterns on nonproportional hazards. We provide such guidance by reviewing various tests proposed as more powerful alternatives to the standard logrank test under nonproportional hazards and simultaneously comparing their performance under a wide variety of nonproportional hazards scenarios to elucidate their advantages and disadvantages. Method In order to select the most preferable test for detecting specific differences between survival distributions of interest while controlling false positive rates, we review and assess the performance of weighted and adaptively weighted logrank tests, weighted and adaptively weighted Kaplan–Meier tests and versatile tests under various patterns of nonproportional hazards treatment effects through simulation. Conclusion We validate some of the claimed properties of the proposed extensions and identify tests that may be more preferable under specific expected pattern of nonproportional hazards when such knowledge is available. We show that versatile tests, while achieving robustness to departures from proportional hazards, may lose interpretation of directionality (superiority or inferiority) and can only be seen to test departures from equality. Detailed summary and discussion of the performance of each test in terms of type I error rate and power are provided to formulate specific guidance about their applicability and use.
