Дан обзор результатов ампелографической оценки перспективных розовоягодных сортов винограда Анюта, Аркадия розовая, Виктор, Памяти хирурга в условиях Анапо-Таманской зоны Краснодарского края. Агротехника соответствовала общепринятой для данной культуры и зоны. Схема посадки - 3,0 х 2,5 м. Кусты формировались по типу высокоштамбового двуплечего горизонтального кордона. Все агробиологические учеты проводились по общепринятым методикам. На кустах формировалась одинаковая нагрузка побегами и гроздями. Анализ метеорологических условий периода вегетации, агробиологических и хозяйственно-технологических показателей изучаемых сортов свидетельствует о том, что почвенно-климатические условия Анапо-Таманской зоны Краснодарского края являются благоприятными для их возделывания в неукрывной культуре. Сорта Виктор и Аркадия розовая были отнесены к группе сортов очень раннего срока созревания, сорт Памяти хирурга - раннего, а сорт Анюта - к группе сортов среднепозднего срока созревания. Суммирование рангов сортов по признакам позволяет классифицировать их по комплексной ценности (в убывающем порядке ряда): Виктор, Анюта, Аркадия розовая и Памяти хирурга. В конце ряда - контрольный сорт Кишмиш лучистый. То есть все сорта народной селекции по комплексу биолого-хозяйственных признаков превосходят контрольный сорт и потому их следует рассмотреть как перспективные для районирования в Южно-Предгорной зоне Краснодарского края. Анализ результатов исследований показал, что для производства свежего столового винограда в условиях Анапо-Таманской зоны Краснодарского края в неукрывной культуре рекомендуется выращивание выделившихся по комплексу биолого-хозяйственных признаков сортов Виктор, Памяти хирурга, Аркадия розовая и Анюта. The article provides the summary of results on ampelographic assessment of promising rose-berry grape varieties ‘Anyuta’, Arcadia Rose’, ‘Victor’, ‘Pamyati Khirurga’ in the Anapo-Taman zone of the Krasnodar Territory. Agricultural techniques corresponded to those generally accepted for the given culture and zone. The planting pattern was 3.0 x 2.5 m. The bushes were trained as high-head two-armed horizontal cordons. All agrobiological surveys were carried out according to generally accepted methods. Identical loading with shoots and bunches was trained on the bushes. The analysis of meteorological conditions of the growing season, agrobiological and economic-technological parameters of the studied varieties indicates that the soil and climatic conditions of the Anapo-Taman zone of the Krasnodar Territory are favorable for their cultivation in open-earth culture. The varieties ‘Victor’ and ‘Arcadia Rose’ were attributed to the group of very early ripening varieties, the variety ‘Pamyati Khirurga’ - early, and ‘Anyuta’ - mid-late ripening varieties. Summing-up of varietal ranges according to the characteristics allows classify them according to their complex value (in range in descending order): ‘Victor’, ‘Anyuta’, ‘Arcadia Rose’ and ‘Pamyati Khirurga’. The control variety ‘Kishmish Luchistyi’ is at the end of this range. It means that all varieties selected by local inhabitants are superior to the control variety in terms of the complex of biological and economic characteristics, and therefore they should be considered as promising for zoning in the South Piedmont zone of the Krasnodar Territory. The analysis of the research results showed that in order to produce fresh table grapes in the Anapo-Taman zone of the Krasnodar Territory in open-earth culture, it is recommended to cultivate the varieties ‘Victor’, ‘Pamyati Khirurga’, ‘Arcadia Rose’ and ‘Anyuta’, distinguished by a complex of biological and economic characteristics.

Strong growth of shoots and ripening of grape fruits do not give grounds for claiming that the variety is in accordance with the climatic conditions of a certain area. Only a well-ripe vine can withstand severe winter conditions. The purpose of the study is to determine the degree of maturation of the vine in grape varieties of Odessa breeding grown in the northern part of the Forest-steppe, and to identify among them the most prepared for wintering conditions in the area. The degree of maturation of the vine was determined during 2018–2019 in the autumn before the cover of grape plants by the method of primary fluorescence using a microscope MBS-2 with fluorescent illuminator OI-18 and by the method of N. Matuzok. Studies have shown that the degree of ripening of the grapevine depends on the weather conditions during the growing season and varietal characteristics of the plants. Weather conditions during the years of study contributed to the good maturation of the shoots of grapes of all varieties except Kometa and Zahadka. The first had a characteristic brown color of the mature bark along the entire length of the shoot. When bending the vine in its upper part of the characteristic cracking of the bark was not in the varieties Kometa, Zahadka, Yarylo and Muskat odeskyi. The highest degree of ripening of shoot tissues was noted in the lower zone of the vine in the Aromatnyi, Kardyshakh, Kishmish tayirovskij. In the middle zone of shoots, the highest degree of maturation of the felema was found in the variety Kardyshakh, and in the upper part of the shoot, in the variety Aromatnyi. The highest conditional coefficient of maturation (Kv) of the tissues of the vine in the fifth internode is defined in the varieties Aromatnyi and Kyshmysh tairovskyi (0.90), the mean in the variety Kardyshakh (0.88), and the lowest in the variety Kometa (0.56). Based on the data obtained from the results of complex studies, it was found that the varieties Aromatnyi, Kyshmysh tairovskyi and Kardyshakh are the most prepared for wintering in the northern part of the Forest-steppe.

The extraordinary abundance of precipitation in 2010 (somewhere around 1000 mm) influenced highly the development of taste and flavour in cherry fruits. As stated, only a few varieties out of 27 were acceptable as for commercial quality. Under the given climatic conditions, actually ‘Bigarreau Burlat’ earned 965.11 points and proved to be the best in the early ripening group. In the mid season group, three varieties earned more than 1000 points (‘Giant Red’, ‘Carmen’ and ‘Vera’ grown at Nagykutas and Pallag), whereas in the late ripening group ‘Germesdorfi’ sent from Csenger (1084), ‘Linda’ (1070.07) and ‘Lapins’ (1052) received recognition. Correlation has been tested on the basis of 27 varieties between the individual properties. We sated that the most important attributes, which influenced the general impression of decision makers are the following: form and size of the fruit (r=0.835 and 0.797), furthermore juiciness (r=0.776), taste (r=0.876) and sweetness (0.875). Crispness was considered to be typical to cherry (r=0.743). Relation between acidity and sweetness was also essential to determine the acceptance of the cherry character.

Суммирование рангов сортов по признакам позволяет классифицировать их по комплексной ценности (в убывающем порядке): Гелиос, Ранний Магарача, Виктор, Преображение, Анюта, Юбилей Новочеркасска. Анализ результатов исследований показал, что в целях производства свежего столового винограда в условиях Анапо - Таманской зоны Краснодарского края в неукрывной культуре рекомендуется выращивание выделившихся по комплексу биолого-хозяйственных признаков сорта Антрацит, Памяти Учителя и Подарок Несвятая, а также по экономическим показателям - сорта Рошфор К и Байконур.The article reviews the findings of ampelographic assessment of promising dark-berry varieties of grapes Anthracite, Baikonur, Pamyati Uchitelya, Podarok Nesvetaya and Roshfor K in the conditions of the Anapa-Taman zone of the Krasnodar Krai. The agricultural practices were consistent with the commonly adopted practices for this culture and cultivation zone. The planting system was 3.0 x 2.5 m. The bushes were trained as tall trunk winged horizontal arbour. All agro-biological measurements were made using standard methods. The bushes were formed to have approximately similar load of shoots and bunches. Analysis of meteorological conditions during vegetation, agro-biological, economic and performance parameters of the varieties being explored suggests that soil-climatic conditions of Anapa-Taman zone of the Krasnodar krai are favourable for their cultivation in uncovered vineyards. Podarok Nesvetaya variety should be considered to fall within the group of varieties of a super early vegetation period Anthracite and Pamyaty Uchitelya varieties within the group of very early ripening period, varieties Baikonur, Roshfor K and Ranniy Magaracha within the group of early ripening period. The sum of the rankings for each variety in terms of their features allows their classification by combined values (in descending order): Gelios, Ranniy Magaracha, Viktor, Preobrazheniye, Anyuta, Yubiley Novocherkasska. Research data analysis allowed recommending the following varieties of table grapes for cultivation in uncovered vineyards under the conditions of Anapa-Taman zone of the Krasnodar krai: Anthracite, Pamyaty Uchitelya and Podarok Nesvetaya, characterized by outstanding biologic and economic features Roshfor K and Baikonur varieties that demonstrated outstanding economic performance.

Альтернативой дефицитным интродуцированным сортам винограда могут явиться аборигенные сорта вида Vitis vinifera L., а также современные сложные межвидовые сорта винограда с групповой устойчивостью к неблагоприятным биотическим и абиотическим факторам, которые позволят создать устойчивую сырьевую базу для коньячного производства. Аромат-образующий комплекс сортов винограда для коньячного производства определяется разнообразными классами химических соединений, которые играют важную роль в формировании качества коньяка. В статье представлены результаты исследования сортовых особенностей винограда и их влияние на формирование комплекса ароматобразующих веществ виноматериалов и молодых коньячных дистиллятов. Оценка сортов по ряду биохимических, физико-химических и технологических показателей позволила выявить отличительные признаки исследуемых групп винограда различного происхождения. Установлены диапазоны варьирования показателей в зависимости от степени зрелости винограда, климатических условий года и зоны произрастания винограда. Характерными свойствами интродуцированных европейских сортов явились высокая оксидазная активность и способность фенольных веществ сусла к окислению; сортов межвидовой селекции - низкая способность винограда к отдаче фенольных веществ и их содержание в сусле при повышенной оксидазной активности. Отличительными признаками аборигенного сорта Шабаш явились низкая массовая концентрация титруемых кислот и оксидазная активность, но высокая способность винограда к отдаче фенольных веществ и их содержание в сусле. Установлено, что доля высших спиртов в составе летучих примесей виноматериалов и дистиллятов возрастала в следующем ряду: европейские сорта→аборигенный сорт→межвидовые сорта, а доля средних эфиров в этой последовательности, напротив, снижалась. Результаты исследований могут быть использованы для регулирования комплекса ароматобразующих веществ коньячных виноматериалов и дистиллятов уже на начальных этапах переработки винограда, с целью повышения их качества. An alternative to the scarce introduced grape varieties can be native varieties of the species Vitis vinifera L., as well as modern complex interspecific grape varieties with group resistance to unfavorable biotic and abiotic factors, which will create a stable base of raw materials for brandy production. The aroma-producing complex of grape varieties for brandy production is determined by various classes of chemical compounds playing an important role in the quality of finished product. The article presents the results of study of varietal characteristics and their influence on formation of a complex of aromatic substances of base wines and young brandy distillates. Evaluation of varieties for a number of biochemical, physicochemical and technological parameters made it possible to identify distinctive features of the studied groups of grapes of various origin. Ranges of parameter variation are established depending on the degree of grape maturity, climatic conditions of the year and zone of growing. Characteristic properties of the introduced European varieties are high oxidase activity and the ability of phenolic substances of the must to oxidize; of the interspecific selection varieties - the low ability of grapes to yield phenolic substances and their content in the must with increased oxidase activity. Distinctive features of the native variety ‘Shabash’ were a low mass concentration of titratable acids and oxidase activity, but also a high ability of grapes to release phenolic substances and their content in the must. It was found that the proportion of higher alcohols in the composition of volatile impurities of base wines and distillates increased in the series: European varieties → native variety → interspecific varieties, while the proportion of medium-chain esters in this sequence, on the contrary, decreased. The obtained research results can be used to regulate the complex of aroma-producing substances of brandy base wines and distillates, starting from the initial stages of processing, in order to improve their quality.

The experience of cultivation of soybeans in SC "Agricultural machinery" of the Kaluga region on an area of 190 hectares shows that the soybean variety Alaska is sufficiently adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of this region, provides a high seed yield (up to 32 c / ha) and a high yield (up to 1344 kg / ha) relatively inexpensive protein. However, this variety has a long growing season (95-105 days) and therefore desiccation of crops is required for harvesting for seeds.


Castor oil (Ricinus communus L.) is an important commercial product. The climatic conditions of Ukraine determine the possibility of growing the castor as an annual crop. At the Institute of Oilseeds NAAS studied castor collection. The aim of the work was the selection of the most promising samples of castor oil, combining a large yield potential in a narrow range of vertical distribution for optimal technological parameters of mechanical harvesting with a high content of oil in seeds and ricinolic acid in oil. In the experience of 2015-2016, the manifestation of morphological features of 17 castor bean samples was studied. The height of plants, individual samples among themselves differed more than twice. Long-brush samples of ЕР118, К374, М203, К159 are distinguished on the basis of the length of the brush. The shortest brush was observed in sample K1008. The length of the productive brush in the studied samples is from 10.7 to 32.9 cm. Most castor bean samples under favorable conditions form brushes of the second and higher orders. According to this parameter, samples of Ep118 and selection No. 38 with four inflorescences of the second order are of the greatest interest. The largest brushes of the second order are similar in size to the brushes of the first order were observed in the samples: К1127, К810, К153. The adaptability of harvesting castor beads requires that the brushes of the first and second order coincide in height with each other, since the harvester can take a maximum of 60 cm. For the sum of the productive brushes of the first and second orders, the greatest potential yield will be provided by samples K159 and K1127. Among the studied collection stands out the small seed sample K159 and the large seed samples - PRL41 and K80. The average oil content in the seeds of the collection was from 52 to 61.4%. Sample38 had the highest oil content. The content of ricinolic acid in the collection was from 70.9 to 82.9%. Samples were isolated: К134, К1008, PRL41, К430 with the content of ricinoleic acid more than 80%. The results of the study of all parameters make it possible to isolate valuable technological samples. Sample K1064 with a high technological potential of productivity, with a seed oil content of 57.2%, has a not very high content of ricinoleic acid of 74.3%. Sample K1127 with an oil content of 58.6%, a mass of 1000 seeds of 265 g, a high potential of productive brushes has a wide variation in the arrangement of brushes. Sample K134 with a oil content of 57.1%, ricinoleic acid content of 80.7% has small second-order brushes and can be used as a single-cysts in a thicker seeding.

The highly variable weather under changing climate conditions affects the establishment and the cutoff of crop growing season and exposes crops to failure if producers choose non-adapted relative maturity that matches the characteristics of the crop growing season. This study aimed to determine the relationship between maize hybrid relative maturity and the grain yield and determine the relative maturity range that will sustain maize production in northwest New Mexico (NM). Different relative maturity maize hybrids were grown at the Agricultural Science Center at Farmington ((Latitude 36.69° North, Longitude 108.31° West, elevation 1720 m) from 2003 to 2019 under sprinkler irrigation. A total of 343 hybrids were grouped as early and full season hybrids according to their relative maturity that ranged from 93 to 119 and 64 hybrids with unknown relative maturity. The crops were grown under optimal management condition with no stress of any kind. The results showed non-significant increase in grain yield in early season hybrids and non-significant decrease in grain yield with relative maturity in full season hybrids. The relative maturity range of 100–110 obtained reasonable high grain yields and could be considered under the northwestern New Mexico climatic conditions. However, more research should target the evaluation of different planting date coupled with plant population density to determine the planting window for the early season and full season hybrids for the production optimization and sustainability.

Frequently, the vineyards in the Douro Region present multiple grape varieties per parcel and even per row. An automatic algorithm for grape variety identification as an integrated software component was proposed that can be applied, for example, to a robotic harvesting system. However, some issues and constraints in its development were highlighted, namely, the images captured in natural environment, low volume of images, high similarity of the images among different grape varieties, leaf senescence, and significant changes on the grapevine leaf and bunch images in the harvest seasons, mainly due to adverse climatic conditions, diseases, and the presence of pesticides. In this paper, the performance of the transfer learning and fine-tuning techniques based on AlexNet architecture were evaluated when applied to the identification of grape varieties. Two natural vineyard image datasets were captured in different geographical locations and harvest seasons. To generate different datasets for training and classification, some image processing methods, including a proposed four-corners-in-one image warping algorithm, were used. The experimental results, obtained from the application of an AlexNet-based transfer learning scheme and trained on the image dataset pre-processed through the four-corners-in-one method, achieved a test accuracy score of 77.30%. Applying this classifier model, an accuracy of 89.75% on the popular Flavia leaf dataset was reached. The results obtained by the proposed approach are promising and encouraging in helping Douro wine growers in the automatic task of identifying grape varieties.

The cultivation expediency of more drought-resistant crops, in particular sorghum, millet, false flax, safflower and others, instead of sunflower in the area of the Southern Steppe of Ukraine is substantiated. This is, first of all, required by climate change both in Ukraine and in the world. Since 2004, researches of field crops were carried out in the conditions of the Educational and Scientific Practical Center of the Mykolaiv National Agrarian University. Soil phase is the southern chernozem with humus content in the 0–30 cm soil layer which consist of 2.96–3.21 %, with medium and high level of availability of mobile phosphorus and potassium and low – mobile nitrogen. Experiments with soriz (Oksamyt hybrid) were conducted during 2004–2006, millet (Tavriiske, Kostantynivske, Skhidnevarieties) in 2008–2010, grain sorghum (Stepovyi 5 hybrid) in 2014–2016, safflower dye (Lahidnyi variety) in 2017–2019. The years of research differed significantly in temperature and even more in the amount of precipitation before sowing and during the growing season of crops. However, the weather conditions were typical of the Southern Steppe zone of Ukraine. It is established that all studied drought-resistant crops respond positively to nutrition optimization – the level of yield and quality of grain or seeds increases. It was found that the soriz productivity depending on the application of fertilizers and sowing dates increased by 37.6–39.2 %, millet –by 33.3–41.6 %, grain sorghum depending on the background of nutrition and growing conditions – by 8.2–33.2 %, dye safflower – by 11.1–64.6 %. It was determined that the optimization of nutrition of cultivated crops allows to increase their resistance to adverse conditions and productivity in the case of application of low doses of the mineral fertilizers before sowing, pre-sowing treatment of seeds, and growth-regulating chemical application of plants on the main stages of the growing season. Under conditions of a relatively cool and humid growing season in the central agro-climatic region of the Komi Republic, corn is not inferior in terms of growth rate and photosynthetic activity, traditionally cultivated under the conditions of the northern Non-Black Earth region crops. The purpose of the research is to study the possibility and prospects of growing early ripe corn hybrids in the soil and climatic conditions of the Komi Republic. Field experience was established on the basis of the Institute of Agriculture of Komi Science Centre of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2016-2017 on an area of 1.6 hectares. In 2016, 6 varieties of corn were studied, and in 2017, in addition to them, another 15. Thus, out of 21 varieties and hybrids, 7 varieties were selected for further study. The article presents the results of a preliminary study of the ecological testing of early-ripening hybrids of corn when cultivating them in agroclimatic conditions of the Komi Republic. The features of growth and development of corn hybrids, formation of the green mass harvest are considered. As a result of the research, the Uralskiy 150 with the best fodder characteristics was identified among the studied hybrids. Uralsky 150 formed 11-12 leaves with a specific leaf density of 0.30 g/dm2. The LAI of the cenosis was 4 m2/m2. The maximum rate of photosynthesis of the leaves was 17 mol CO /m2s. The average for two years the yield of green mass 2 of the studied variety sample and hybrids of corn was amounted to 380 centner/ha. The dry matter content in biomass did not exceed 20%, the content of crude protein reached 12%, and fiber 29%.
