The contribution of the cooperative sector in Malaysia to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is still at an unsatisfactory level. Some reports state that the country's GDP was only achieved between 3% to 4% until 31 December 2019 compared to the target of 10% as set in the National Cooperative Policy (NCP) 2011-2020. Based on NCP 2011-2020, one of the achievements that contribute to the increase in GDP is good regulation and governance. The same achievement strategy is continued in the fourth strategic thrust proposal of NCP 2021-2030, which is to create effective regulation. Therefore, to solve the problems of the study, the objectives of the study is to identify the elements of cooperative governance model based on cooperative governance guidelines in Malaysia and investigate the effect of cooperative governance model based on cooperative governance guidelines on cooperative performance in Malaysia. This study will use quantitative research method to achieve the objectives that have been set, namely questionnaire techniques and content analysis. Validation of the study framework model will be conducted using quantitative analysis techniques using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The expected output of the study is the Cooperative Governance Model that can be referred to by the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development (MEDAC) and government agencies such as the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (MCC), Malaysian Cooperative Institute and other cooperatives. The significant results of this study are expected to provide input to the MCC related to the elements of good cooperative governance and can be used as additional information to be disseminated to cooperatives in Malaysia. The improvement in the achievement of cooperative governance is expected to contribute to the increase in cooperative revenue which in turn achieves the target contribution to the national GDP.

The main objective of this study was to examine the students’ perception on the effect of social factors on students’ akhlak practices. This survey was a quantitative research and employed a set of questionnaire to collect data from the samples. The samples were form four and lower six students who were sellected from several secondary schools in Malaysia using the multi stage cluster sampling method. 3,262 students were involved in this study. The data were analysed using SPSS software. From this study, we may conclude that the students’ perception on the social factors that contributed towards akhlak practices was positive and the total overall mean was high i.e. 3.83. It also showed that parent and Islamic education factors were two main factors that contributed towards students’ akhlak practices. These were followed by community, law enforcement and school environment factors. Two other weakest factors i.e. artists and peers were only at moderate level and it seems that these two factors less contributed to the students’ akhlak practices.

Business incubators were designed to sustain the deep-rooted image of entrepreneurs being self-reliant and by offering a broad spectrum of tailored services; it seeks to raise the success rate of small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) significantly. BIs have the characteristics to be completely dedicated to the success of a small business in its initial stages but, followed through, it puts in place the tools to achieve long-term success: space, funding, legal, accounting, computer services and other prerequisites to running a business, make BIs a one-stop shop for SMEs. This study has been conducted to establish if there has been a fairytale ending to the symbiotic relationship or whether the business incubator, like the SME, has had to traverse its own set of challenges towards achieving a happy union. The paper adopted a quantitative research approach in which the questionnaire was utilized as the relevant data collection tool. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software was used to analyze the data, with descriptive statistics at the end. As much as limited funding was reported to be a significant challenge that incubatees faced prior to joining the incubation programs, the results point to the fact that the need for multiple skills was the central force that seduced/lured the incubatees into the programs, but the majority of the participating respondents declare a complete lack of regret. Instead, they fully endorse the merits of the union, stating that BIs exists to effectively meet the objectives of SMEs

Purpose of the study: This paper investigated the extent to which the awareness and knowledge of financial bootstrapping determined the techniques used by immigrant entrepreneurs in the retail clothing sector in the Cape Town metropolitan area. Methodology: A quantitative research approach was used to collect and analyze data. Through self-administered questionnaires, 135 respondents participated in the study. The data obtained were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software, version 24. Main Findings: The results point to the fact that while the respondents made use of a wide range of financial bootstrapping techniques, there was no sufficient evidence to support the fact that this was influenced by their level of awareness and knowledge of these methods. Even the respondents with limited or no knowledge of the concept of financial bootstrapping applied the strategies in their businesses. Applications of this study: This paper may directly benefit immigrant entrepreneurs, besides informing future research and policy. Novelty/Originality of this study: This paper validates the extent to which awareness and knowledge of financial bootstrapping influences the strategies utilized by immigrant entrepreneurs in South Africa.

This study aims to determine the effect of product design and price on consumer interest in buying Jepara Teak furniture at the New Furniture Business Shop in Lubuk Alung. This type of research is associative quantitative research, the number of research samples were 100 people. Data was collected in the form of questionnaires and using analyzed SPSS software ver.21.0 for Windows. The conclusions from this study is the product design variable (X1) has a significant positive effect on purchase decision in Jati Jepara furniture at the New Furniture Business Shop in Lubuk Alung, as evidenced by t value > t table (10,400> 1,660) and a significant influence between price variables ( X2) purchase decision with t value> t table (2,015> 1,660). There is a positive and significant influence between product design (X1) price (X2), on purchase decision of Jati Jepara furniture consumers with an F-value 156,644> F- table (3,09) means that it affects together. The coefficient of determination (R²) results obtained a coefficient of 0.764 or 76.4%, while 23.6% is influenced by other variables.Keywords: Product design; prices; purchase decision.

The unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic has caused a traffic tie-up across the world. In addition to home quarantine orders and travel bans, the social distance guideline of about six feet was enacted to reduce the risk of contagion. However, with recent life gradually returning to normal, the crisis is not over. In this research, a moving train test and a Gaussian puff model were employed to investigate the impact of wind raised by a train running on the transmission and dispersion of SARS-CoV-2 from infected individuals. Our findings suggest that the 2 m social distance guideline may not be enough; under train-induced wind action, human respiratory disease-carrier droplets may travel to unexpected places. However, there are deficiencies in passenger safety guidelines and it is necessary to improve the quantitative research in the relationship between train-induced wind and virus transmission. All these findings could provide a fresh insight to contain the spread of COVID-19 and provide a basis for preventing and controlling the pandemic virus, and probe into strategies for control of the disease in the future.

Cultural referents not only designate specific realities of a given culture which do not always exist in another but they are also semantic elements which trigger social representations. By conveying values and points of view about different social groups, cultural referents become linguistic instruments to build stereotypes. These thought patterns are shared by the members of a social or cultural community and act as a filter of reality. The aim of this paper is to study the role of cultural referents in the construction of social stereotypes, focusing on the socio-cognitive universe they evoke. To this end, we have analyzed the translations techniques applied in the Spanish, Catalan and English versions of a novel which has been very successful on the French literary scene: Muriel Barbery’s L’Élégance du hérisson (2006). As show the results of this textual comparison, the explanations, descriptions and additional information observed in target texts do not trigger the same associations as cultural referents do in the source text. Translational approaches are too limited when it comes to achieve linguistic adequacy to different world visions. Therefore, translation must be conceived as an encounter between two cultural systems, in which the translator must build bridges, not so much between two linguistic systems as between the social perceptions and values of two different cultural communities.
