ABSTRACT Sponges are a component of coral reef biota that has bioactive compounds with a greater percentage of activity compared to compounds produced by terrestrial plants. This study aims to determine the presence of antioxidant activity in the ethanol extracts of sponge Ianthella basta from the waters of Tumbak Village. Ianthella basta sponge was extracted using maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. Antioxidant activity testing was carried out using the DPPH method with a concentration of 100 µg / mL, 75 μg / mL, 50 μg / mL, and 25 μg / mL and Vitamin C p.a as positive control. Each sample was made three repetitions of the test. Testing using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results showed that the ethanol extract of the Ianthella basta sponge had antioxidant activity with a percentage of 48.73% at a concentration of 100 µg / mL. Keywords: Ianthella basta sponge, Antioxidants, Extraction, DPPH  ABSTRAK Spons merupakan salah satu komponen biota penyusun terumbu karang yang mempunyai senyawa bioaktif dengan persentase keaktifan lebih besar dibandingkan dengan senyawa-senyawa yang dihasilkan oleh tumbuhan darat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya aktivitas antioksidan di dalam ekstrak etanol Spons Ianthella basta dari perairan Desa Tumbak. Spons Ianthella basta diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode DPPH dengan konsentrasi 100 µg/mL, 75 µg/mL, 50 µg/mL, dan 25 µg/mL dan Vitamin C p.a sebagai kontrol positif. Masing-masing sampel dibuat tiga kali pengulangan uji. Pengujian menggunakan alat spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ektrak etanol Spons Ianthella basta memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan persentase sebesar 48,73% pada konsentrasi 100 µg/mL. Kata Kunci: Spons Ianthella basta, Antioksidan, Ekstraksi, DPPH

ABSTRACTHabitat of sponge Stylissa sp., were under the sea and these sponges contain active compounds, which are more active than the compounds produced by terrestrial plants. Antioxidants are inhibitors of oxidation reactions due to the free radicals, which can cause weak damage to unsaturated cells, cell wall membranes, blood vessels, DNA bases, and lipid tissue, that causing disease. The study was conducted to determine the antioxidant activity of ethanol extracts  of sponge Stylissa sp., which is located on the Bangka Island, Likupang District, North Minahasa Regency. Sponge Stylissa sp., was extracted by maceration with using ethanol. Testing of antioxidant activity was carried out by the DPPH method measured by a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results of the study showed that ethanol extracts of sponge Stylissa sp., has antioxidant activity in each concentration and the highest at a concentration of 100 mg / L. The conclusion is a ethanol extract of sponge Stylissa sp. have high antioxidant activity with a concentration of 25 mg/L (77,40%), concentration of 50 mg/L (85,63%), concentration of 75 mg/L (88,66%), and concentration 100 mg/L (88,96%). Key words: Stylissa sp. Sponge, Antioxidant, DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) ABSTRAKHabitat dari spons Stylissa sp. terdapat di bawah laut dan spons ini mengandung senyawa aktif yang persentase keaktifannya lebih besar dibandingkan dengan senyawa-senyawa yang dihasilkan oleh tumbuhan darat. Antioksidan adalah zat penghambat reaksi oksidasi akibat radikal bebas yang dapat menyebabkan kerusakan lemah tak jenuh, membran dinding sel, pembuluh darah, basa DNA, dan jaringan lipid sehingga menimbulkan penyakit. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol biota laut spons Stylissa sp. yang terdapat di pulau Bangka, Kecamatan Likupang, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara. Spons Stylissa sp. ini diekstrak dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan ini dilakukan dengan metode DPPH yang diukur dengan alat spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak etanol spons Stylissa sp. memiliki aktivitas antioksidan disetiap konsentrasi dan yang tertinggi pada konsentrasi 100 mg/L. Kesimpulan yang didapat bahwa ekstrak etanol spons Stylissa sp. memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang tinggi dengan konsentrasi 25 mg/L (77,40%), konsentrasi 50 mg/L (85,63%), konsentrasi 75 mg/L (88,66%), dan konsentrasi 100 mg/L (88,96%). Kata Kunci : Spons Stylissa sp., Antioksidan, DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil)

ABSTRACTDayak onion plant (Eleutherine americana Merr.) or commonly called forest onion is a typical plant of Central Kalimantan that has been used by local peoples for cure a various types of diseases. This study aims to determine the activity of antioxidant compounds from Dayak bulb ethanol extracts from Kotamobagu City. This research method is an experimental laboratory. Initially the Dayak bulb sample was extracted maceration with 96% ethanol solvent then evaporated until a thick extract was obtained. As a parameter, the DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) was used to test the antioxidant activity of the samples at concentrations of 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90 mg / L and as a comparison standard used Vitamin C with concentrations of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mg / L. The results obtained showed antioxidant activity in Dayak bulb ethanol extracts with IC50 values of 41.46 mg / L and on vitamin C IC50 values of 1.04 mg / L. Based on these results it can be concluded that the onion bulb ethanol extract has very strong antioxidant activity. Keywords: Dayak Onion bulbs, Activity, Antioxidant, DPPH  ABSTRAK Tanaman bawang Dayak (Eleutherine americana Merr.) atau biasa disebut bawang hutan merupakan tanaman khas Kalimantan Tengah yang sudah dipergunakan masyarakat lokal sebagai obat berbagai jenis penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas senyawa antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol bulbus bawang Dayak yang berasal dari Kota Kotamobagu. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratorium. Awalnya sampel bulbus bawang Dayak diekstraksi maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96% kemudian dievaporasi hingga didapatkan ekstrak kental. Sebagai parameter, digunakan metode DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) untuk pengujian aktivitas antioksidan sampel pada konsentrasi 50, 60, 70, 80 dan 90 mg/L dan sebagai standar pembanding digunakan Vitamin C dengan konsentrasi 2, 4, 6, 8 dan 10 mg/L. Hasil penelitian yang didapat menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak etanol bulbus bawang Dayak dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 41,46 mg/L dan pada vitamin C nilai IC50 sebesar 1,04 mg/L. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol bulbus bawang Dayak memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat. Kata kunci: Bulbus Bawang Dayak, Aktivitas, Antioksidan, DPPH

ABSTRACT Extract Ethanol of Manila Sapodilla (Acrhras zapota L.)  contain flavonoid compound with antioxidant activity. Aim of this research is to find out ethanol  extract of manila sapodilla (Acrhras zapota L.) has antioxidant activity with DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil). Extract was made by using maceration  method by using ethanol liquid 70%. Ethanol extract of manila sapodilla (Acrhras zapota L.) was made main liquid 1000 ppm after that therewere dilution of 20, 40, 60, and 80 ppm. Positive control (Vitamin C) with concentration 2, 4, 6, and 8 ppm. Each of concentration was taken 1 ml then added 2 ml of DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil) liquid, and then it is  homogent and incubated during 30 minutes. After that, measurement of spectrophotometer UV-Vis was conducted in wave length of 517 nm. Result of data was analyzed by using absorbansi with grapic of concentration relationship with percentage of DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil) inhibition. Result of research shows that ethanol  extract of manila sapodilla (Acrhras zapota L.) was proven has the antioxidant activity very strong with IC50  8,2786 µg/mL. Keywords : Manila Sapodilla, DPPH, Antioxidant, Spectrophotometer. ABSTRAK Ekstrak etanol daun sawo manila (Acrhras zapota L.)  mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah ekstrak etanol daun sawo manila (Acrhras zapota L.) memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil). Ekstrak dibuat dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Ekstrak etanol daun sawo manila (Acrhras zapota L.) dibuat larutan induk 1000 ppm setelah  itu dilakukan pengenceran 20, 40, 60, dan 80 ppm. Kontrol positif (Vitamin C) dengan konsentrasi 2, 4, 6, dan 8 ppm. Dari masing-masing konsentrasi diambil 1 ml lalu di tambahkan 2 ml larutan DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil), kemudian dihomogenkan dan diinkubasi selama 30 menit. Setelah itu,dilakukan pengukuran spektrofotometer UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 517 nm. Data hasil dianalisis pengukuran absorbansi menggunakan grafik hubungan konsentrasi dengan persen inhibisi DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun sawo manila (Acrhras zapota L.) terbukti memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat dengan nilai IC50  8,2786 µg/mL. Kata kunci : Sawo Manila, DPPH, Antioksidan, Spektrofotometer.

Antioxidants are compounds that can delay, reduce, slow down or inhibit oxidation reactions from free radical reactions. Antioxidants donate electrons to unstable free radicals so that these free radicals can be neutralized to not interfere with the body's metabolic processes. Red seaweed Galaxaura rugosa has potential as an antioxidant. The study aimed to determine the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of red seaweed Galaxaura rugosa against DPPH free radicals based on the IC50 value. Phytochemical testing and determination of antioxidant activity were carried out using the DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl), which was carried out quantitatively using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results of the phytochemical screening of red seaweed ethanol extract contained alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, steroids, and polyphenols and the IC50 value of red seaweed ethanol extract was 4.59 ppm, while the positive control for Vitamin C was 6.64 ppm. It was concluded that the ethanolic extract of red seaweed Galaxaura rugosa in the South Aceh District had high antioxidant potential, as evidenced by the small IC50 value of <50 µg/mL.Keywords: Antioxidants, Galauxara rugosa, phytochemicals, DPPH  ABSTRAKAktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol rumput laut merah Galaxaura rugosa Antioksidan merupakan senyawa yang mampu menunda, memperkecil, memperlambat atau menghambat reaksi oksidasi dari reaksi radikal bebas. Antioksidan menyumbangkan elektron kepada radikal bebas yang tidak stabil sehingga radikal bebas ini dapat dinetralkan agar tidak mengganggu jalannya proses metabolisme tubuh. Rumput laut merah Galaxaura rugosa berpotensi sebagai antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol rumput laut merah Galaxaura rugosa terhadap radikal bebas DPPH berdasarkan nilai IC50. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian fitokimia dan penentuan aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-difenil-1-pikrilhidrazil) yang dilakukan secara kuantitatif menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil dari skrining fitokimia ekstrak etanol rumput laut merah mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, steroid dan polifenol serta nilai IC50 ekstrak etanol rumput laut merah sebesar 4,59 ppm sedangkan kontrol positif Vitamin C sebesar 6,64 ppm. Ekstrak etanol rumput laut merah Galaxaura rugosa di Kabupaten Aceh Selatan memiliki potensi antioksidan yang tinggi. dibuktikan dengan nilai IC50 yang yang kecil yaitu < 50 µg/mL.Kata kunci: Antioksidan, Galauxara rugosa, Fitokimia, DPPH

Bisbul (Diospyros discolor Willd.) is a plant of the Ebenaceae family and red dragon (Hylocereus polyrhizus) is a plant of the Cactaceae family. Bisbul and red dragon have bioactive compounds are flavonoids that act as antioxidants. The purpose of this study was measure antioxidant activity from ethanol extract of bisbul pulp and ethanol extract of red dragon fruit stem by DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazin). Extraction by maseration method and using 96% ethanol as solution. Antioxidant activity assay using the immersion method of DPPH measured absorption at a wavelenght 517 nm and compared with vitamin C. The result showed that the ethanol extract of bisbul pulp (IC50 46.00 ìg/mL) more strong antioxidant activity compared the ethanol extract of red dragon fruit stem (IC50 1020.96 ìg/mL).

Wualae (Etlingera elatior (Jack) R.M Smith) is one of the plants in the Zingiberaceae family, widely used in medicine ranging from rhizomes, fruits, and flowers. Empirically Wualae are usually used by people for treating skin diseases, flavoring food, a natural soap, and in Southeast Sulawesi, it is used to treat typhoid fever. This study aims to examine the antioxidant activity of Wualae (Etlingera elatior) plant. The plant extracts were extracted by maceration method, antioxidant activity test was performed by 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. The results showed that ethanol extracts of fruits, leaves, stems and rhizomes of Wualae (Etlingera elatior) has the potential antioxidant activity with the IC50 values of 72.518 mg/L, 99.890 mg/L, 52.345 mg/L and 58.638 mg/L, respectively. and Vitamin C has IC50 value of 3,787 mg/L.

Moringa (moringa oleifera Lam) leaves contains many molecules as inhibitors for free radicals such as phenolic compounds (phenolic acids, flavonoids, quinones, coumarins, lignans, stilbenes, tannins), nitrogen compounds (alkaloids, amines, betalain), vitamins, terpenoids (including carotenoids), and several other endogenous metabolites as antioxidants. This study aimed to determine the antioxidant potency of water and ethanol extracts of moringa (moringa oleifera Lam) leave obtained by maceration and dekok. The concentration of free radical 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) was analyzed using UV-Vis spectrophotometer after addition of various concentrations of Moringa leaves extracts. Various concentrations of moringa leave extracts used were 20 ppm, 40 ppm, 60 ppm and 80 ppm. Vitamin C solutions as the positive control were prepared on similar various concentrations. The negative control was prepared using DPPH solutions dissolved in absolute ethanol. The results indicated that the ethanol extract of moringa leaves prepared by maceration method showed the antioxidant potency with an IC50 value of 22.1818 ppm, but the IC50 value of water extract of moringa leaves prepared by dekok was 57.5439 ppm. While, the IC50 value of Vitamin C was 8.8084 ppm. Based on the IC50 data it can be concluded that Vitamin C is a stronger antioxidant than moringa leaves extracts.

The effect of Cu2+ and Mg2+ metal ions on the antioxidant activity of anthocyanins of ethanol extract from the red dragon skin fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) has been done. Anthocyanin pigments from ethanol extract the red dragon skin fruit, content and antioxidant activity of anthocyanins from the red dragon fruit skin with ethanol solvent, and the effect of Cu2+ and Mg2+ metal ions on the antioxidant activity of anthocyanins. Identification of anthocyanin was done by identification of color test, using spectrophotometer analysis of UV-Vis and FTIR. The anthocyanin content was determined using pH difference method, and determined effect of metal ions extract was done by adding 50 ppm, 100 ppm, and 150 ppm of metal ions Cu2+ and Mg2+ into the anthocyanin extract that was been acidified by HCl , using spectrophotometer analysis of FTIR. Antioxidant activity test using DPPH method. The results show that ethanol extracts the red dragon anthocyanin by content is 12.5241 mg / L and antioxidant activity (IC50) is 0.478 μg / mL and with addition of2+ and Mg2+ metal ions can be increased antioxidant activity (IC50) of anthocyanins to be 0.2259 μg / mL for Cu2+ at concentration 50 ppm and 0.3351 μg / mL for Mg2+ at concentration 50 ppm.

ABSTRACT Antioxidant are compounds that can inhibit the oxidation rate of other molecules or neutralize free radicals. Putri Malu Leaf (Mimosa pudica Linn.) is not yet widely known as a medicinal plant. Through phytochemical screening, Mimosa pudica Linn. leaves known to have antioxidant compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids, saponins and coumarin. This study aims to determine how much the antioxidant content in the extract of Mimosa pudica Linn. leaves using DPPH method with a concentration of 100 mg/L, 75 mg/L, 50 mg/L and 25 mg/L and Vitamin C as a positive control. Each sampel was made three repetitions of the test. The test uses a UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. The highest results were obtained from the concentration of 100 mg/L in the second repetition of 89.74%. The highest average percentage  of yield obtained is at a concentration of 100 mg/L. Based on the result obtained from Mimosa pudica Linn. leaf extract seems like that the ethanol extract of Mimosa pudica Linn. leaves has high antioxidant activity. Keywords: Antioxidant, DPPH, Mimosa pudica Linn.  ABSTRAK Antioksidan  ialah senyawa yang mampu menghambat laju oksidasi molekul lain atau menetralisir radikal bebas. Daun Putri Malu (Mimosa pudica Linn.) belum dikenal luas sebagai tanaman obat.Melalui skrining fitokimia, daun Mimosa pudica Linn.diketahui memiliki senyawa antioksidan seperti flavonoid, alkaloid, terpenoid, saponin dan kumarin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar kandungan antioksidan didalam ekstrak tanaman daun Mimosa pudica Linn.menggunakan metode DPPH dengan konsentrasi 100 mg/L, 75 mg/L, 50 mg/L dan 25 mg/L dan Vitamin C sebagai kontrol positif. Masing-masing sampel dibuat tiga kali pengulangan uji.Pengujian menggunakan alat Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Terlihat hasil tertinggi diperoleh dari konsentrasi 100 mg/L pada pengulangan ke-II yaitu sebesar 89,74%. Rata-rata persentase hasil yang diperoleh tertinggi ialah pada konsentrasi 100 mg/L. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dari ekstrak daun Mimosa pudica Linn.terlihat bahwa ekstrak etanol daun Mimosa pudica Linn. memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang tinggi.  Kata Kunci : Antioksidan, DPPH,Mimosa pudica Linn.

Ulva lactuca Algae habitat was found in shallow marine waters and its morphology is thin and flat thallus. Ulva lactuca Algae, known as sea lettuce, contains a lot of chlorophyll in its cells. Chlorophyll has the ability as a free radical scavenger and also has antioxidant activity. Antioxidants are compounds that could inhibit oxidation reactions by binding to free radicals and highly reactive molecules. This study was conducted to determine the antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of Algae Ulva lactuca obtained from the Lembeh Strait, Bitung City. Ulva lactuca Algae was extracted by maceration method using ethanol solvent. Testing of antioxidant activity was carried out using the DPPH method, which was measured using a UV-VIS spectrophotometer. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol Alga Ulva lactuca yang diperoleh dari Peraian Selat Lembeh, Kota Bitung. Alga Ulva lactuca diekstrak dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode DPPH yang di ukur menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV-VIS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol Alga Ulva lactuca memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai presentase sebesar 51,63% pada konsentrasi 100 mg/L. Kata kunci : Alga Ulva lactuca, Antioksidan, Etanol, DPPH
