ABSTRACTAnalgesic medicinals are medicinals that can inhibit pain. Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera Lam.) are known to contains alkaloid and flavonoid which have analgesic effects.The purpose of this study was to determine the analgesic effects of the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves on male white rats wistar strain (Rattus norvegicus). A total of 15 rats were divided into 5 treatment groups, namely the negative control group (CMC), positive control group (paracetamol), and the group of ethanol extract of Moringa leaves with different doses of 0.1 g, 0.2 g, and 0.4 g. Rat response was observed before giving test material and after giving test material from the 30th, 60th, 90th, and 120th minutes. Data were analyzed using ANOVA then continued with LSD test. The results showed that the ethanol extract of Moringa leaves with dosages of 0.1 g, 0.2 g, and 0.4 g had an analgesic effect on male white rats wistar strain. And among these three doses the best in providing analgesic effect is a dose of 0.4 g. Keywords: Analgesic, Moringa leaf (Moringa oleifera Lam.), Rattus norvegicus. ABSTRAKObat analgesik merupakan obat yang dapat menghambat rasa nyeri. Daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam.) diketahui mengandung alkaloid dan flavonoid yang memiliki efek analgesik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui adanya efek analgesik dari ekstrak etanol daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam.) pada tikus putih jantan galur wistar (Rattus norvegicus). Sebanyak 15 ekor tikus dibagi 5 kelompok perlakuan, yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif, kelompok kontrol positif, dan kelompok ekstrak etanol daun kelor dengan dosis berbeda 0,1 g, 0,2 g, dan 0,4 g. Respon tikus diamati sebelum pemberian bahan uji dan setelah pemberian bahan uji dari menit ke 30, 60, 90, dan 120. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA kemudian dilanjutkan uji LSD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun kelor  dengan dosis 0,1 g 0,2 g, dan 0,4 g memiliki efek analgesik terhadap tikus putih jantan galur wistar. Dan diantara ketiga pemberian dosis tersebut yang paling baik dalam memberikan efek analgesik yaitu dosis 0,4 g. Kata kunci: Analgesik, Daun Kelor (Moringa oleifera Lam.), Rattus norvegicus.

ABSTRACTSawilangit leaves (Vernonia Cinerea (L.) Less) is a plant that contains flavonoids as an antipyretic. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of flavonoid compounds from ethanol extract of sawilangit (Vernonia cinerea (L.) Less) leaves as an antipyretic in male white rats Wistar strain (Rattus norvegicus) induced by DPT vaccine. A total of 15 male rats were divided into 5 treatment groups, namely the negative control group (CMC 1%), the positive control group (paracetamol), and the ethanol extract group of sawilangit leaves with a dose of 200 mg, a dose of 400 mg, a dose of 800 mg. Each mouse was induced intramuscularly with a DPT vaccine at a dose of 0.3 ml. Temperature measurements were carried out before and after induction, then every 30 minutes after giving the test material from the 30th minute to the 180th minute. Data were analyzed statistically with One Way ANOVA and continued with LSD test to see significant differences between treatments. The results showed that the ethanol extract of sawilangit leaves had an antipyretic effect on male white rats Wistar strain..Key words: Antipyretics, Vernonia Cinerea, male white rats ABSTRAKDaun Sawilangit  (Vernonia Cinerea (L.) Less) sebagai antipiretik pada tikus putih jantan galur wistar (Rattus norvegicus) yang diinduksi vaksin DPT. Sebanyak 15 ekor tikus putih jantan dibagi 5 kelompok perlakuan yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif (CMC 1%), kelompok kontrol positif (parasetamol), dan kelompok ekstrak etanol daun sawilangit dosis 3,6 mg, dosis 7,2 mg, dosis 14,4 mg. setiap tikus diinduksi vaksin DPT dosis 0,3 ml secara intramuscular. Pengukuran suhu dilakuan sebelum dan sesudah induksi, kemudian setiap 30 menit  setelah pemberian bahan uji dari menit ke-30 sampai menit ke-180. Data dianalisis secara statistika dengan One Way ANOVA dan dilanjutkan uji LSD untuk melihat beda nyata antar perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Ekstrak etanol daun sawilangit mempunyai efek antipiretik terhadap tikus putih jantan galur wistar. Kata kunci: Antipiretik, Vernonia Cinerea, tikus putih jantan

This study aims to determine the potential for glucose levels in the blood of ethanol extracts of the begonias (Begonia Sp.), the effect of the extract on the pancreatic histopathology of white rats (Rattus norvegicus) which was induced by streptozotocin, and the effective dose begonias’ extract leaves on the histopathological descriptions of pancreatic male white rats. This study was an experimental laboratory where the research group consisted of group I (the control group) as a normal control was given a standard feed, group II (negative control) was given a 0.5% Na CMC suspension, group III (positive control) was orally given glibenclamide and experimental groups IV, V, and VI (doses 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg BW). Were given ethanol extract of begonias leaves. The results showed that the ethanol extract of the begonias (Begonia Sp.) contained secondary metabolite compounds, namely flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, polyphenols, and tannins. Ethanol extract of begonias leaves at adose of 50 mg/kg BW was an affective dose in reducing blood glucoselevels by an avarage of 101,8 mg/dL) and a dose of 50 mg/kg BW can affect the histopathological picture of the pancreas in STZ induuced rats with an average damage value of 2 from a maximum of 4.

Wound refers to partly damage or loss of body tissue. One way that has been used by the people in helping the process of wound healing is the use of medicinal plants, such as gotu kola (Centella asiatica). Gotu kola (Centella asiatica)  is kind of plant that found almost in all territories of Indonesia which functions as a cell revitalizing substance which quickens wound healing those are burnt, skin ulcer and to prevent keloid. This study is aimed to know the effect of giving gotu kola leaf extract (Centella Asiatica) against to the healing of the wound incision on male white rats (Rattus Norvegicus) wistar strain. This study is a pure experimental research using the randomized post test only control group design with the subjects are 30 male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) wistar strain that were divided into 3 groups, namely K1, K2, and K3. The incision wound were made on the back of all white rat in each group with a length of ± 2 cm and a depth of ± 2 mm. The wound in the negative control group (K1) was not given any substance; in the positive control group (K2) was given povidone iodine 10%; and in the treatment group (K3) was given gotu kola leaf extract at a dose of 37,5 mg/150 grBB. The study was done for 10 days. Furthermore, wound observation and monitoring is held. Then the results were processed by using One Way ANOVA. The result study of wound incision healing on male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) wistar strain shows that there is significant difference among the negative control group (K1), the positive control group (K2), and the treatment group (K3) on One Way ANOVA test which significant p-value are 0,027 (p < 0.05). The result of Post-Hoc LSD test also shows a significant differences among the K1 and K3 groups, and K2 and K3 groups which significant p-values are 0,011 and 0,038 (p < 0,05). From these results, it can be concluded that gotu kola leaf extract (Centella asiatica) effective on quickens wound healing of the wound incision on male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) wistar strain.

Tepung pelepah aren secara tradisional digunakan sebagai obat untuk menghilangkan rasa gatal dan luka bakar pada kulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas anti-inflamasi ekstrak etanol tepung pelepah aren (Arenga pinnanta) menggunakan metode induksi karagenan. Ekstrak etanol tepung pelepah aren yang digunakan didapatkan dari hasil maserasi tepung pelepah aren menggunakan etanol hasil redestilasi cap tikus. Metode pengujian aktivitas anti-inflamasi menggunakan 15 ekor tikus putih jantan galur wistar dengan berat 150-200 gram yang dibagi dalam 5 kelompok perlakuan, Kelompok Kontrol negative, Kontrol Positif dan kelompok dosis ekstrak etanol 20%, 25% dan 30%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kelompok ekstrak etanol tepung pelepah aren dosis 30% memiliki kemampuan inhibisi udem yang sama dengan kontrol positif (Na Diklofenak) dan memiliki kemampuan inhibisi yang lebih besar dibandingkan dosis 20% dan 25%.ABSTRACTPalm stem flour is traditionally used as a remedy for the relief of itching and burns on the skin. This research aims to test the anti-inflammatory activity of palm-flour (Arenga pinnanta) ethanol extract using Caragenan induction method. Palm-dried stem flour extract used from the maceration of palm flour, using ethanol redestilation of rat seals. The method of testing anti-inflammatory activity using 15 male white rats with Wistar strain with a weight of 150-200 grams divided into 5 treatment groups, negative control group, positive control and group dose of ethanol extract 20%, 25% and 30%. The results of this study showed that the group of dried palm flour extract dose 30% have the same inhibition capability with positive control (Na Diklofenak) and have greater inhibition capability compared to the dose 20% and 25%.

ABSTRACTKucai (Allium tuberosum) leaves contain metabolite compounds such as alkaloids, saponins, tannis which are potential sources to be developed as medical plants. Flavonoid is a derivative pf a phenol that has an analgesic properties. This study aims to determine whether there is an analgesic effect on the ethanol extract of kucai leaves. This study uses a laboratory experimental research design using wistar strain male white rats as an experiment animal. The ethanol extract of kucai leaves are given with different doses, group 1 doses 3,6 mg, group 2 doses 7,2 mg and group 3 doses 14,4 mg. Stimulation method in rats was carried out by using a 55°C hot plate. Rats was observed before and after giving test material at 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes respectively and observed their responses by the form of licking legs and jumping. From the result of data in the form of tables and charts show that the ethanol extract of kucai leaves with doses 3,6 mg, 7,2 mg, and 14,4 mg has analgesic effect. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Penelitian eksperimental laboratorium menggunakan tikus putih jantan galur wistar sebagai hewan percobaan. Ekstrak etanol daun kucai diberikan dengan dosis yang berbeda-beda yaitu kelompok perlakuan 1 dengan dosis 3,6 mg, perlakuan 2 dengan dosis 7,2 mg, perlakuan 3 dengan dosis 14,4 mg. Metode rangsangan pada tikus dilakukan dengan menggunakan hot plate dengan suhu 550C. Tikus di amati sebelum dan setelah pemberian bahan uji, menit ke 30, 60, 90, dan 120. Respon tikus yang diamati berupa menjilat kaki dan melompat. Dari hasil analisis data dalam bentuk tabel, grafik dan diagram menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun kucai dengan dosis 3,6 mg, 7,2 mg, dan 14,4 mg memiliki efek analgesik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa dosis yang memiliki efek analgesik terbaik ialah dosis 14,4 mg.Kata kunci: Analgesik, kucai, tikus putih jantan

Background: Synthetic insecticides may have the negative effect to nature. Many studies suggested the applications of botanical larvicides as an alternative replacement for synthetic insecticides. This study aimed to examine the effect of Moringa oleifera Lam leaves ethanol extract on the Anopheles aconitus L. third instar larvae mortality. Subjects and Method: This was a laboratory experimental with post-test only con-trol group design conducted at Salatiga, Central Java, in November 2016. A total of 150 Anopheles aconitus L. third instar larvae was selected by convenience sampling method and divided into 6 groups in which contained replication of 25 larvae. One negative control group was added 100 ml distilled water. The other treatment groups were 1 mg/ 100 ml, 10 mg/ 100 ml, 20 mg/ 100 ml, 30 mg/ 100 ml, and 40 mg/ 100 ml of Moringa oleifera Lam leaves ethanol extract. Each test group was repeated four times. The dependent variable was mortality of the larvae. The independent variable was different concentrations of Moringa oleifera Lam leaves ethanol extract. The observation of larvae mortality was conducted after 48 hours of exposure with extract. The data were analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis. Results: Mean of the mortality of Anopheles aconitus L. third instar larvae was dif-ferent in each group, and it was statistically significant (p= 0.008). Conclusion: Moringa oleifera Lam leaves ethanol extract has effect on mortality of Anopheles aconitus L. third instar larvae. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the antidiabetic activity of papaya flower ethanol extract (Carica papaya L.) against male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced by alloxan. This research is experimental. Fifteen rats were divided into 5 treatment groups, each group consisted of 3 rats. The first group was the negative control group given Aquades, the second group was positive control given Glibenklamid, the three groups were 200 mg dose variation groups, four groups were 400 mg dose variations, and the five groups were 800 mg dose variations. Previously, rats were examined fasting blood glucose levels, then mice were induced by an alloxan dose of 120 mg / kgBW intraperitoneally. On the 3rd day blood glucose levels were examined and then treated according to groups for 7 days, measurement of blood glucose levels after the treatment was carried out once every 3 days namely day 3, day 7, and day 10. Data obtained were then analyzed statistically using SPSS , including normality test (Shapiro-Wilk), homogeneity test (Levene), ANOVA test (One way). The results of this study indicate that Papaya Flower (Carica papaya L.) Ethanol Extract can provide the best blood glucose level reduction effect at a dose of 800 mg. Keywords : Antidiabetic, Papaya Flower Extract (Carica papaya L.), Diabettes Mellitus, Male White Rat (Rattus norvegicus), Aloxan.  ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas Antidiabetik Ekstrak Etanol Bunga Pepaya (Carica papaya L.) Terhadap Tikus Putih Jantan (Rattus norvegicus) Yang Diinduksi Aloksan. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental. Sebanyak 15 ekor tikus dibagi ke dalam 5 kelompok perlakuan masing- masing kelompok terdiri dari 3 ekor tikus. Kelompok pertama kelompok Kontrol negatif yang diberikan Aquades, Kelompok kedua Kontrol Positif yang diberikan Glibenklamid, kelompok tiga kelompok variasi dosis 200 mg, kelompok empat kelompok variasi dosis 400 mg, dan kelompok lima kelompok variasi dosis 800 mg. Sebelumnya tikus dilakukan pemeriksaan kadar glukosa darah puasa, selanjutnya tikus diinduksi Aloksan dosis 120 mg/kgBB secara intraperitoneal. Pada hari ke 3 diperiksa kadar Glukosa darah kemudian diberikan perlakuan sesuai kelompok selama 7 hari, pengukuran kadar glukosa darah setelah perlakuan dilakukan 3 hari sekali yaitu hari ke 3, hari ke 7, dan hari ke 10. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan SPSS, meliputi uji normalitas (Shapiro-Wilk), uji homogenitas (Levene), uji ANOVA (One way). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Ekstrak Etanol Bunga Pepaya (Carica papaya L.)  dapat memberikan efek penurunan kadar glukosa darah yang paling baik yaitu pada dosis 800 mg. Kata kunci : Antidiabetik, Ekstrak Bunga pepaya (Carica papaya L.), Diabettes Mellitus, TikusPutih Jantan (Rattus norvegicus), Aloksan.

Moringa (moringa oleifera Lam) leaves contains many molecules as inhibitors for free radicals such as phenolic compounds (phenolic acids, flavonoids, quinones, coumarins, lignans, stilbenes, tannins), nitrogen compounds (alkaloids, amines, betalain), vitamins, terpenoids (including carotenoids), and several other endogenous metabolites as antioxidants. This study aimed to determine the antioxidant potency of water and ethanol extracts of moringa (moringa oleifera Lam) leave obtained by maceration and dekok. The concentration of free radical 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) was analyzed using UV-Vis spectrophotometer after addition of various concentrations of Moringa leaves extracts. Various concentrations of moringa leave extracts used were 20 ppm, 40 ppm, 60 ppm and 80 ppm. Vitamin C solutions as the positive control were prepared on similar various concentrations. The negative control was prepared using DPPH solutions dissolved in absolute ethanol. The results indicated that the ethanol extract of moringa leaves prepared by maceration method showed the antioxidant potency with an IC50 value of 22.1818 ppm, but the IC50 value of water extract of moringa leaves prepared by dekok was 57.5439 ppm. While, the IC50 value of Vitamin C was 8.8084 ppm. Based on the IC50 data it can be concluded that Vitamin C is a stronger antioxidant than moringa leaves extracts.

This study aims to determine the content of flavonoid and the effect of ethanol extract of moringa seeds on the regeneration of pancreatic β cells in male white rats streptozotocin induced diabetes. This study method used has total flavonoid equivalent quercetin by spectrophotometry uv-vis and to regeneration of pancreatic β cells in male white rats used 30 test animals,namely male white rats divided into 6 groups, each group consisted of 5 male white rats with details of group I as normal control, Group II as negative control given 0.5% Na-CMC suspension, Group III as positive control given glibenclamide suspension and in Groups IV, V, and VI were given with each dose of 100 mg/kg BW, 200 mg/kg BW and 400 mg/kg BB. Histopathological damage picture of the pancreas was observed by staining HE using a 400x magnification olympus Cx21 microscope. The results showed that the ethanol extract of moringa seeds contained secondary metabolites, namely flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins and tannins. The results showed has total flavonoid equivalent quercetin of moringa seeds is 1,26% and regeneration of pancreatic β cells in male white rats streptozotocin induced diabetes of Moringa seed ethanol extract at a dose of 400 mg/kg BB can have an effect on the regeneration of β cells in the pancreas of white diabetic male rats.

This study aims to determine the effect of guava leaf extract (Psidiium guajava L) on hypercholesterolemia-diabetes and the effective dose for reducing cholesterol and blood glucose levels. This study is a laboratory experimental study using 30 rats divided into 6 test animals. the treatment group, each group consisted of 5 rats. Group I was normal control, group II negative control was given Na-CMC suspension, group III positive control was given simvastatin group IV dose 150 mg / kg BW, group V dose 250 mg / kg BW and group VI dose 350 mg / kg BW. The results showed that the ethanol extract of guava leaves had an effect on reducing blood glucose levels of male white rats with an effective dose of 250mg / kg BW with an average reduction of 119 mg/dL and effectively reduce cholesterol levels at a dose of 150 mg /kg BW with an average reduction of 28,33 mg/dL.
