This final project focuses on Alvin and the Chipmunks film in spoken narrative text to improve students’ speaking skill. The objectives of this study are (1) to find out the students’ speaking ability before being taught by using Alvin and the Chipmunks film in spoken narrative text, (2) to find out the students’ speaking ability after being taught Alvin and the Chipmunks film in spoken narrative text, and (3) to find out whether or not there is significant difference of the students’ speaking ability before and after being taught using Alvin and the Chipmunks film at storytelling. In this study, the population was the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Gubug in the academic year 2013/2014. The number of the population was 324 students classified into 9 classes. Cluster sampling is used in taking the sample. 69 students are selected as sample out of 324 students that consist of 36 students from class Xi as the experiment group and 33 students XH as the control group. Experiment research was used here to get the data. The pre-test is given to the students on both of groups. After that, the difference treatments are given in experimental group. At the end of the research, the post-test is given to both of groups. In experiment group, the students retell the story of Alvin and the Chipmunks after watching the film and in control groups the students retell without watching the film in front of the class. The mean score of the experiment group 72.08 was higher than the mean score of the control group 65.455. The t-test application to the scores of two groups showed that the valuable (9,67) is higher than t-table (1.996). It can be seen that there is a significance difference speaking ability of the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Gubug after being taught using Alvin and the Chipmunks film. To overcome these problems, the researcher offers some suggestions. For the school, the school should give good facilities and many media for teaching and learning process. For the teacher, the teacher should give variation teaching especially using media in spoken narrative text to improve students’ speaking skill. For the students, the students have to do more active, confident, and practice to practice speaking English

This study was initiated by the low learning outcomes of the tenth grade students of SMA 2 Sukadana on Stoichiometry class, especially on molarity, molality, and determining the empirical and molecular formulas. The problems are due to the lack understanding on the concept of molarity, molality, and mole fraction. Therefore, it is important to develop a learning model that can enhance student’s understanding on the concept in accordance with the character of the student and the learning material. This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness and the differences of the students learning outcomes after taught using Tree-Based Posing Problem model on molarity, molality, mole fraction, and empirical and molecular formulas. Using a quasi-experimental method, 28 tenth grade students of the MIA class participated in this study. The data collection techniques used were pre and posttests, observation, and interview. The study showed the mean score of the pretest was 40.17 and the posttest was 90.67. The result of the Effect Size obtained 0.887 which was equivalent to 31.06%. This means that there were differences of student learning outcomes after taught using Tree-Based Posing Problem model. To conclude, Tree-Based Posing Problem model is effective in enhancing students learning outcomes, especially on molarity, molality, mole fraction, and empirical and molecular formulas.

The low competence of mathematical knowledge caused by the lack optimal use of the learning model makes it difficult for students to understand the learning material. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of the Team Assisted Individualization model assisted by Ludo media on learning outcomes in terms of the problem-solving ability of fraction material. This type of research was a quantitative study using pre-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest design. The number of samples in this study was all students of class IV, amounting to 26 students using saturated sampling type sampling. Data collection in this study was obtained through interviews, tests and documentation. The results of data analysis obtained tcount 9.698 and ttable 1.706 with a significant level of 5%. Because t_count> ttable is 9.698> 1.706, so H_0 is rejected, which means that there are differences in pretest and posttest learning outcomes. Then the two-party t-test of problem-solving abilities shows that tcount> ttable is 8,000> 1,671 then H_0 is rejected, so there is a significant difference in learning outcomes seen from the problem-solving ability using the Team Assisted Individualization model with groups that are taught with conventional models in grade IV SD. The Team Assisted Individualization model assisted by Ludo media is effectively applied in the learning process to improve student learning outcomes for fractions.
