This research aims to study the most important factors affecting profit function. Cross sectional data were used in the light of a random sample of 130 farmers in Dhi Qar province. The results showed that the proportion of costs of production inputs amounted to 73% of the total production costs. Also, profit function showed that the amount of output has a significant impact on profit compared to other independent variables since value of the parameter of the quantity of production amounted to about 308879 and was significant at the level of 1% according to t-test. The coefficient determination of about 93% for the equation estimated with OLS. However, heteroscedasticity was obvious according to the White Test. So the model was estimated using robust regression method to avoid this problem, but that led to a decrease in R2 to about 69%. The research recommended the need to increase the rates of production growth and productivity through an organized agricultural economic policy that links the policy of supporting input requirements, both in terms of reducing prices or providing quantity and quality, especially fertilizers and seeds in conjunction with the policy of supporting prices of output. Also, research recommended encouraging farmers to expand wheat crop cultivation in the province of Dhi Qar by increasing the cultivated areas.

Determination of fish landing price is important, as the same contributes to the structure, conduct and performance of the fish market in Lake Victoria. Determination of relevant landing price is a gap to console between fishermen, agents (middlemen), processors and the government. The main objective of this study was therefore to examine fish price determination. Specifically, to examine the methods for fish price determination and analyse factors that affect fish landing price in Lake Victoria, a cross-sectional design was employed, and 300 respondents were randomly selected from two district councils, namely, Sengerema and Buchosa. Both qualitative and quantitative data were analysed using descriptive statistics and inferential analysis. Findings show that landing price is determined through formal negotiation with processors, consultation with other traders, informal negotiation with buyers and Beach Management Unit (BMU). The study concluded that these are the common methods used to determine landing prices. Also, distance from fishing to onshore landing centres, market information channels, age and experiences of the fishermen are the factors significantly found affecting landing price. It is recommended that the mechanism for setting up fishery price, fish market structure, fishery information and the formation of fishery regulatory body needs fishery policy and sector reforms that mark the determination of fish landing price.

The aim of this research was to estimate the production function to measure returns to scale and distribution efficiency of  resources used in the production of wheat. Cross sectional data used of a random sample of 130 farmers in Dhi Qar Province. The results of the quantitative analysis of estimating production function showed that the double logarithmic form was the best estimated model based on economic and statistical indicators. However, that form suffered from heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation, so the robust regression technique was chosen. Value of returns to scale was 0.89 and this indicates decreasing returns to scale. This means that production function is in the second stage of the function. The results of the distributional efficiency study showed that the resources used in the production of the crop were not optimized as they amounted to 1.28 for the human labor resource and 20.6 for the capital. There was a shortage in the use of labor resource and capital for the optimal use that achieves economic efficiency and this caused low efficiency of crop production. Therefore, the research recommends the need to increase the amount of human labor in the wheat crop farms in Dhi Qar province, which would move the production function curve to a higher level in order to achieve the economic efficiency of the crop cultivation in the province on the one hand and return the farmers to production in the rational stage. Also, it is important to have the proper allocation of resources available by farmers, which has the effect of increasing the economic efficiency of those resources, which will in turn reflects on the efficiency of crop production.

Production costs are costs contained in a product or service, so the costs incurred must be able to be identified and calculated correctly, so that the total production costs incurred are truly accurate. The purpose of this study is to find out what costs are contained in the determination of production costs for an advertisement and how to calculate them. The method used is descriptive qualitative, where data is collected by interview and observation method and then draws a conclusion from the results of these interviews and observations. The results of this study indicate that the production costs incurred for an advertisement are determined by the bureau which consists of equipment rental costs and crew costs or salaries (excluding basic salaries) then the amount is calculated and added with transportation costs

The capital intensive nature of automated production processes has increased the proportion of total production costs which are classified as overhead. The increasing importance of overhead costs makes their treatment a central issue in the determination of product cost. This article examines current methods of changing overhead costs to product and suggests possible improvements in the current process.

Abstract Since the day that Hancock invented his wooden masticator, plasticizing has been one of the outstanding features of the rubber industry. Although the application of rubber in the form of latex, thus avoiding the process of mechanical softening, is increasing, this does not imply that the use of heavy machinery for plasticizing coagulated rubber is lessening. It is now commonly accepted that plasticizing or mastication of rubber is a chemical process, occurring under combined mechanical and chemical (oxygen) influences and resulting in a diminishing of the length of the hydrocarbon molecules. This breakdown of rubber is of great technical importance, because the plasticity of rubber stock determines its workability. The degree of plasticizing or breakdown, especially when mastication has been prolonged, has also some effect on mechanical and aging properties after the plasticizing has been counterbalanced by the action of vulcanization. It follows from the foregoing that control of plasticity during fabrication is of great interest from a technological standpoint. From the standpoint of works economy the problem is not less urgent, because energy used by internal mixers and mixing rollers as well as extra costs resulting from wrong plasticity in calendering and moulding are of importance in total production costs.

It has been demonstrated that cross sections of bundles of hair can be effectively studied using image analysis. These studies can help to elucidate morphological differences of hair from one region of the body to another. The purpose of the present investigation was to use image analysis to determine whether morphological differences could be demonstrated between male and female human Caucasian terminal scalp hair.Hair samples were taken from the back of the head from 18 caucasoid males and 13 caucasoid females (Figs. 1-2). Bundles of 50 hairs were processed for cross-sectional examination and then analyzed using Prism Image Analysis software on a Macintosh llci computer. Twenty morphological parameters of size and shape were evaluated for each hair cross-section. The size parameters evaluated were area, convex area, perimeter, convex perimeter, length, breadth, fiber length, width, equivalent diameter, and inscribed radius. The shape parameters considered were formfactor, roundness, convexity, solidity, compactness, aspect ratio, elongation, curl, and fractal dimension.

Malaria is one of the health problems in Indonesia, especially West Sumatra. Determination of the description of Malaria disease in an area is needed to determine the spread and severity of the disease. This study aims to determine the frequency distribution according to age, sex and place of residence, description of the types of Plasmodium causes of Malaria and hematological features in Malaria patients at Siti Rahmah Padang Hospital in 2018. This type of research is a descriptive observational study with an approach or design cross section (cross sectional). The frequency distribution of Malaria sufferers in Siti Rahmah Padang Hospital in 2018 according to the highest age was in the age group 21-30 years as many as 28 cases (36.8%), the highest sex among men was 46 (60.5%) and the highest number of residences was found in Koto Tangah sub-district there were 31 cases (40.8%). The type of Plasmodium found in Malaria cases in Siti Rahmah Padang Hospital in 2018 was P. vivax (73 cases (96.05%)) and P. falciparum (3 cases (3.95%)). The results of laboratory tests on Hb, hematocrit, platelet and leukocyte levels in Malaria positive patients in Siti Rahmah Padang Hospital in 2018 were in the normal range.
