Temple stay program is a newly formed but comparably mature religious and cultural tourism product in Sri Lanka that accommodates and caters to tourists in Buddhist temples and allows them to experience Theravada Buddhist traditions and culture. Through, temple stay program turns out to be a distinctive phenomenon which successfully establishes a unique identity of Buddhist culture and tourism, as well as expand the influence of Theravada Buddhism. However, the respective authorities have paid a little attention to religious and cultural purposes when visiting Sri Lanka by tourist. As a result, the main issue for this study stems from this scenario. Sri Lanka is researching and trying to launch new products, including Buddhist temple stay program, for the Sri Lankan tourism industry to attract more tourists who will benefit to tourism development. Education of Buddhist philosophy, spiritual development, develop self confidence, develop psychological strength and culture of Sri Lanka are main areas covered by temple stay program in Sri Lanka. This study is aim to gain and understanding on the current tourist perception on temple stay program in Sri Lanka. The main objectives of this study are: a) to identify the current behavioral pattern of tourist who engaged with temple stay programs in Sri Lanka; 2) to examine tourist perception on Buddhist temple stay programs in Sri Lanka as a concept of tourism development; 3) to identify the challenges facing by tourist while engage with Buddhist temple stay programs in Sri Lanka. This study conducted using structured questionnaire to collect primary data with 80 local and foreign tourist who engaged with temple stay programs in Kandy, Gampaha and Badulla district in Sri Lanka. The major source for information was the qualitative tool of in-depth interviews with tourists. Secondary data sources such as previous studies were the most significant used in this study; books, journals, reports, magazines and online data sources. The simple statistical analyses like demographic details and other patterns can be performed using the MS Excel software. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive tourist perception about temple stay programs in Sri Lanka. The respective authorities need to be identify the lacking areas and in order to develop strategies to maintain standards and improve temple stay programs in Sri Lanka. Tourism is a fast-growing industry in the world. Many developing countries have recognized the economic contribution of the tourism industry towards to country; therefore, it has been included as an integral part of their development strategies. Sri Lanka continues to use tourism as one of the incomes earning strategy of its nation. At present, a huge tourism development is continued while accepting severe issues occurs itself like tourist harassment. The nature of the harassment is different from destination to destination, and this study mainly aims to identify the harassment in Sri Lanka. The study carried out in Southern Coastal Belt, considering foreign tourists as the sample to the study. A pretested questionnaire was distributed among 600 foreigners to collect primary data for the study, and 530 questionnaires were valid for the analysis. The collected data was analyzed through exploratory factor analysis, which revealed six major types of harassment in Sri Lanka as a result of tourist consumption process throughout the vacation.

This study identifies the potential of tourism products in Sukajadi Village Bogor Regency based on ten (10) tourism components as well as its development strategy, which is currently included in the category of a newly developing tourist village. The results of this research are aggressive and serious development strategies in all aspects of the tourism component, namely increasing the quality and diversification of tourist attractions and activities, accessibility, improving the quality and quantity of tourism amenities, improving the quality of human resources & institutions, community support, land use, tourism industry cooperation, as well as marketing aspects. This research type is a descriptive qualitative with a case study exploratory approach. Primary data is obtained from direct observation and interviews with key informants, namely Pokdarwis and the Village Head, while secondary data is the result of literature studies and research documentation. The analysis technique of this research uses SWOT analysis and Matrix, analysis of the work program of the vision for tourism development of the Bogor Regency Government which refers to local government master plan for tourism development (RIPPARDA), and also analysis of the Cleanlines, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) guidelines.

The tourism village is one alternative tourism that is currently growing in the Bali tourism industry, and one of them is the Kaba - Kaba Tourism Village. Kaba Tourism Village - Kaba is a tourism village that has just been established by the Regional Government of Tabanan Regency, so that currently Kaba - Kaba Village is still preparing itself to become a tourist attraction, so this research is important to know how the management that takes place in the Kaba Tourism Village - Kaba so that the village is ready to promote itself as one of the tourist attractions in Tabanan Regency. In this study using primary data sources obtained directly by observation and interviews, and data analysis techniques used in this study are qualitative analysis by reducing the data which is then presented and concluded. The results of this study note that the management of the Kaba - Kaba Tourism Village is fully managed by the Pokdarwis. The manager of the Kaba - Kaba Tourism Village is expected to be able to promote and operate the Kaba - Kaba Tourism Village faster. Keyword: Manajement, Kaba – kaba Tourism Village

West Nias Regency has an enormous potential tourist destination, namely the Hinako Islands which consists of eight beautiful small islands. Yet the limited infrastructure and capacity of human resources have become the obstacle for this potential. The purpose of this study is to provide recommendations for tourism development strategies in the Hinako Islands to increase local government revenues (PAD) and the welfare of local communities. The research question is how is the strategy of the local government in developing tourism in the Hinako Islands?. This research is a field research, qualitative analytical descriptive type. The primary data of the research were observation and in-depth interviews, also supported by secondary data in the form of documentation and relevant literature studies. This study recommends a tourism development model consisting of 3 elements, namely: 1) West Nias Regency Government as a facilitator to provide tourism facilities and infrastructure; And as a regulator to formulate and enforce tourism business rules for the benefit of the Regional Original Income (PAD) and bring prosperity to local communities. 2) Private, namely existing investors, new investors with an ecotourism pattern, and village-owned enterprises (BUM-Des) to work on the industry in the concept of tourism agromina. 3) Community, to be a friendly host for tourists by providing guarantees for tourist safety, maintaining environmental cleanliness, and providing memorable experiences for tourists. The recommended strategies include strategies for developing tourism destinations, the tourism industry, tourism marketing, and tourism institutions.

Puru Beach has the potential to attract tourists to visit. But lack of adequate facilities, poor road access, no attractive tourist attractions, minimal Human Resources (HR) managers, and no active role of local government so that it becomes problems to development of Puru Beach. The purpose of this research is to determine the community based tourism development strategy in Puru Beach. This research used a qualitative research method with the technique of taking informants using purposive sampling technique. Data collections in this research used primary data sources and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques carried out by observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation studies. The analytical tool used to formulate community based tourism development strategies on Puru Beach is SWOT Analysis by looking at internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external factors (opportunities and threats) that exist in Puru Beach. Based on the results of the SWOT analysis community based tourism development strategies in Puru Beach can be formulated to make Puru Beach a Sport Tourism, increase promotional media through social media, increase human resources (HR), add supporting facilities, encouraging local governments to improve road access, collaborating with local governments, optimizing tourism awareness groups on Puru Beach, and maintaining cultural values.

This article is about to discover the concept of rural tourism developmental strategies based on rural and local wisdom in the Island of Bawean in Gresik Regency. The research uses qualitative mrthod in which the mapping and inventory of primary data sources of rural based potential tourism with local wisdom are taken. The results show that the tourist potentialities among others are: (1) natural potencies of tourism which include Lake Kastoba, the Gili Island, the Cina Island, Noko Island, Nyimas Beach, Mayangkara Beach , Laccar waterfall, Pattar Selamat waterfall, Sangkapura hot spring; (2) Religion (historical) tourism potencies including Jherat lanjeng (Long Ceemetery), Siti Zaenab Waliyullah Cemetery, the Cemetery of Maulana Umar Mas'ud, Kercengan arts and culture, Mandailing arts and culture, and there is also Deer breeding of local type, typical culinary, woven mats made of pandan leaves and so much more. This research suggests that the regional Government of Gresik (Regional Tourism Agency) and Provincial Tourism Office of East Java have to promote their tourism potentials as a sustainable flagship program.

Tourism is recognized as a rural development mechanism in terms of its socio-economic condition towards rural communities, such as creating local rural incomes and employment, contributing local amenities and services, and aiding local culture resources conservation.Tourism is one of the growing industry in Sri Lanka in the post war development. Its contribution to the Sri Lanka economy is vital in same context. This study investigates how tourism sector development effects on the Economic Improvementof the people in Batticaloa district.The objectives of this study are to find out the content of perceived impact of tourism development on the Economic improvement of the families.The sample population consisting of residents residing in Batticaloa was surveyed.In order to determine the impacts of tourism on quality of life in Batticaloa district,a survey was conducted using a sample of one hundred respondents completed the interview. Data were collected through Primary data collection and secondary data collection. The data were analyzed using descriptive analyses with the support of Statistical Package for social sciences.The results revealed that the residents perception of tourism impacts did affect their satisfaction with particular life domains significantly.The results indicated that the relationship between the economic improvement and Tourism development.The result show that perceived impact of tourism development on the Economic improvement of the people. The findings show a relationship between impact of tourism sector development and economic improvement of the family have a positive impact.The findings of this study will be useful for resident in Batticaloa district to developing and implementing strategies to enhance economic and social improvement trough tourism development.

Tourism industry is one of sectors that have potential to develop and grow in the next few years in Sri Lanka. According to Tourism Development Strategy of Sri Lanka, tourism industry is expected to be the largest foreign exchange earner by 2024. The principal focus of this study was to explore major factors that affect women’s participation and non-participation in the hospitality industry in Ella DS division Sri Lanka. The study used a deductive approach, and primary data were collected through a self-administered structured questionnaire. Samples were 60 women, consisting of thirty women involved in the hospitality industry and thirty women of the non-hospitality industry, randomly selected. Results were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.  The results found that the differences in language skills and problem-solving had the most significant effect on women’s participation in hospitality industry. Besides, childcare responsibility and lack of experience were affected women’s involvement in this industry. The results also showed that most of the non-hospitality workers have language barriers (33.3%), lack of knowledge about tourism industry (23.3%), and lack of opportunities to engage in tourism work (13.3%). Based on the results, 53.3% of 30 non-hospitality workers had an idea to be involved in tourism and hospitality industry in the future, while the remaining 46.6% had no idea to be involved.

SummaryCraft tourism is attracting many domestic and foreign tourists. In recent years in Vietnam, craft villages have exploited their potentials in tourism industry. For many different causes, tourism activities have yet reached expectations and their potentials for tourism development. This paper is to review their currents, tourism potentials and limitations and then formulate recommendations to the tourism development in Phu Quoc island. The data for this paper are from two sources. Secondary data were collected from the vast literature and journals. Primary data were from interviews with village owners, related authorities, tourists, tourism corporate, etc. and results serve as guidelines to develop the tourism industry and management.
