The ability of a mathematical connection is one of the skills that must be possessed by students in the learning process of mathematics. Connecting mathematical concepts to gain a meaningful learning. Learning cycle 5E is one of the learning models that could improve students' mathematical connection ability. Student worksheet is a teaching material which is in the form of papers containing a summary of the materials, a guide for independent studying that refers to the basic competencies needed to be achieved. This article aims to develop a student worksheet design that provides an opportunity for students to optimize students' mathematical connection ability in the independent learning process based on the 5E learning cycle model. This research is for the development of the ADDIE model which consists of four stages, which are: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This research is only up to the design stage. The subjects of the study are the students of SMP IT-Abu Bakar and MTs Mu'allimat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Indonesia. The instruments of the data collecting included interview sheets, document sheets, and description sheets. Interview sheets for retrieving curriculum data and student characteristics, document sheets for evaluating teaching materials, and description sheets for determining students' mathematical connection ability. Data analysis techniques uses qualitative data analysis. This research resulted in the design of student worksheets that fit the characteristics of students, curriculum, and teaching materials as well as packaging it based on the LC 5E model to provide a meaningful learning experience. Student worksheets are designed to facilitate students in learning activities and provide opportunities for students to optimize mathematical connection capabilities that are integrated into the learning model LC 5E.

The development of interactive multimedia CD-based teaching materials is urgent because the learning process in the Arabic Education Department is not 100% done as expected. This can be seen from some indicators that have not been achieved in the teaching and learning process. First, the lecturers teaching the same courses of Arabic language skills do not have the same standards of the competencies that students need to achieve, the learning objectives of each meeting and the assessment. Second, the use of interactive multimedia CDs have not been widely used by all lecturers of Arabic language skills. Third, there was no standard of teaching material used by some lecturers who teach the courses of Arabic language skills despite the findings from previous studies that show 25% of students have general high schools background which cause disparate abilities among students in the department. This study is a reseach and development adopting Sugiono’s development stages combined with ADDIE design model and the ASSURE design model which is then termed as ADDIERE design. This study uses mixed qualitative and quantitative methods. The results of this study are the following. First, there is a set of teaching materials comprising a validated and empirically-proven efective an interactive multimedia CD and book. The book  consists of 12 chapters with each covers four language skills. The CD combines autoplay, wondershare quiz creator, record, Arabic pad tool and text media, audio and images.

This study aimed at describing the PBA curriculum development in the period of 1975-2013, viewed from ‘continuous and changing’ perspective on its components and exploring its causes. This was qualitative research with a historical approach, so that the data analysis was done by descriptive qualitative analysis. The results were as follows: first, in terms of the authority in curriculum compilation before KBK, the Government was quite dominant, and departments had role as curriculum implementers, although in the following years they were authorized to develop their own curriculum. Second, there were differences in naming the components and compositions of the curriculum structure in courses. Third, the learning process that was originally a transfer of knowledge (before KBK), teacher centered (TCL), and content based, turned into a method of inquiry (KBK) and sstudent centered learning (SCL). The outcomes shifted into the involvement of the community as stakeholders. Fourth, Arabic learning objective shifted from language goals that are only passive to holistic. The learning process also shifted on the materials, approaches, methods, techniques and evaluation.

In learning to speak, teachers need teaching materials as tools/ media to help the success of the learning process so that students can master speaking skills. Success in the learning process sometimes fails to materialize due to a lack of student interest, because the material used is less attractive and does not match the type of intelligence/ potential of the student. Students have at least 8 types of intelligence but sometimes only a few are dominant. Students who tend to have certain intelligence will be more interested in carrying out learning activities according to their potential. So it is natural that it is still not successful because the teaching materials used do not contain material that is appropriate to the type of student intelligence. Objectives: 1). Describe the characteristics of teaching materials; 2) Knowing the feasibility of teaching materials; 3) Detecting the effectiveness of Arabic learning using teaching materials for learning multiple intelligences-based speaking skills. The method used is the research and development method. The validator of this case is an expert on the Arabic language and teaching material design. The subject of the field trial was 22 students. The data collection techniques are interviews, questionnaires, and tests. These conclusions are as follows: 1) The material contains educational books and CDs following the lessons learned. The validity of the material was prepared through three stages: reviews from language experts 94.1% with excellent scores, and experts in education and material design 84.1% with good scores. 2). The material specifications include the book title "Teaching Multiple Intelligences Speaking Skills". 3). The effectiveness of the material designed by the researcher has the effectiveness in improving the students' speaking ability. This can be seen in the pre-test and post-test results that the t-score calculated in this study (8.217) is greater than the t score at the 5% significance level.
