The article presents the results of a study of persons who filed somatic complaints to a general practitioner — family doctor in an outpatient clinic in Kyiv and use alcohol with harmful consequences. From the standpoint of evidencebased medicine, on the basis of an interdisciplinary approach, biological, psychological and social patterns of the formation of mental and behavioral disorders in persons who have consumed alcohol with harmful consequences have been determined. On this basis, a system of specialized medical care has been scientifically substantiated, developed and implemented, which is a complex of medical, psychological, educational and social measures developed taking into account the influence of biopsychosocial factors in the genesis of mental and behavioral disorders and aimed at preventing or eliminating clinical and psychopathological symptoms, reduction or refusal of respondents from using alcohol with harmful consequences and thereby improving their somatic state, reducing sick leave, ensuring a decent level of social functioning in everyday life. The specified system includes a combination of psychopharmacotherapeutic influences, differentiated depending on the clinical specifics of mental and behavioral disorders and types of personal and behavioral responses. The introduction of this system in health care institutions and specialized universities has proven its effectiveness in reducing clinical and psychopathological manifestations, as well as changes in the social functioning and quality of life of patients.

The introduction sets the forthcoming chapters in the broader context of musical life in Early Modern France and Italy, with reference to existing scholarship on the subject. The occasions and locations in which musical performance took place are outlined, and the scope of the book is defined, stressing the close connections between France and Italy. A growing number of studies of secular music-making consider the social and ideological framework for performance, but usually without serious consideration of architectural settings. Yet these were crucial to the acoustic quality of the performance, for both players and listeners. The chapter therefore underlines the need for an interdisciplinary approach, to establish the background for the study of the emergence of the permanent theatre.

We set out to evaluate the friendships and social behaviour of school-aged children with migraine. Concern exists regarding the impact of paediatric migraine on daily activities and quality of life. We hypothesized that children with migraine would have fewer friends and be identified as more socially sensitive and isolated than comparison peers. Sixty-nine children with migraine participated in a school-based study of social functioning. A comparison sample without migraine included classmates matched for gender, race and age. Children with migraine had fewer friends at school; however, this effect was limited to those in elementary school. Behavioural difficulties were not found. Middle-school students with migraine were identified by peers as displaying higher levels of leadership and popularity than comparison peers. Concern may be warranted about the social functioning of pre-adolescent children with migraine; however, older children with migraine may function as well as or better than their peers.

Aim. To estimate the degree of influence of non-motor manifestations on the quality of life among patients with Parkinson’s disease. Materials and methods. In the study, the “case-control” design was used, processing of the data was conducted with nonparametric methods. Complex examination of 58 patients with Parkinson’s disease was performed. The control group included 15 healthy persons. Results. Manifestation of cognitive, anxiety-depressive, vegetative symptoms in the main group was significantly higher than in the control. There was revealed a negative correlation dependence between the general manifestation of vegetative disorders and the social functioning indices (R = – 0.5; p = 0.001), pain intensity (R = – 0.5; p = 0.001) and psychical health (R = – 0.5; p = 0.005) that proves aggravation of the data on health components as the severity of symptoms was growing. The analyzed vegetative disorders of separate subsystems demonstrated the analogous tendencies. Severity of depressive symptoms influences the pain indices (R = – 0.4; p = 0.01) and the social functions (R = – 0.3; p = 0.03). According to unified scale, non-motor symptoms negatively influence the general health status (R = – 0.3; p = 0.001), social functioning (R= – 0.23; p = 0.004), pain assessment (R = – 0.5; p = 0.001). Conclusions. Non-motor symptoms aggravate the quality of life, influencing both physical and psychological component of health. The absence of correlation between the duration of therapy and the severity of non-motor symptoms confirms the independence of this block of symptoms.

The paper presents the results of research devoted to determination of social-adaptive potential of schizophrenic patients with concomitant somatic pathology by analyzing the parameters of socio-personal functioning, quality of life and compliance. The analysis of social and personal functioning of patients was carried out according to the results of the PSP scale (Personal and Social Performance Scale), which allowed to assess the social status of patients and their functioning in certain areas of life. The quality of life of patients with schizophrenia in the surveyed groups was assessed using the results of the health questionnaire The 36-Item Short Form Survey (SF-36). According to the results of the research, it was found that when schizophrenia is combined with somatic disorders, there is a decrease in the level of socio-personal functioning, quality of life and compliance of patients. The social and personal functioning of patients with schizophrenia in its combination with somatic disorders was especially complicated in the areas of socially useful activities and self-care (in schizophrenia with obesity) and in the field of social relations and restless/aggressive patterns of behavior (in schizophrenia with DM 2). According to the assessment of quality of life in certain areas, it was found that in patients with schizophrenia with CVD and obesity, there was a decrease in physical functioning and limitation of daily functioning due to physical condition, as well as mental depression (the presence of severe depression and anxiety); in patients with schizophrenia with DM 2 - a decrease in daily functioning, due to emotional state; and in patients with obesity - also a decrease in social functioning; and a general decline in general health that was common to all patients with somatic disorders. The decrease in the level of compliance of patients with schizophrenia with somatic disorders was due to insufficient formation of factors related to the patient (perception and awareness of the disease, features and severity of symptoms, relapses, features of social functioning and adaptation) and attitudes towards treatment. According to the data obtained, the most dangerous in focus of social functioning it was the combination of schizophrenia with obesity. The results of the study show that the combination of schizophrenia with somatic diseases is associated with a decrease in social functioning, quality of life and compliance with patients, which leads to a negative social prognosis and requires the attention of clinicians.

This paper proposes a new auction mechanism with seat reservations in movie theaters using an interdisciplinary approach. In movie theater services, the movie price is generally fixed, not depending on the quality of contents or the theater seat. It implies that such a service mechanism by fixed pricing might not reflect the value of movie contents. In this study, a new mechanism of theater services is proposed introducing the Vickrey–Clarke–Groves (VCG) mechanism and Gale–Shapley (GS) mechanism, which present effectiveness in the field of mechanism design. First derived is the theoretical predictions of equilibrium and how the mechanism works using experiments with human subjects. In addition, agent-based simulation is conducted using agents that make the decisions observed in the experiments. Consequently, the results present the validity of the proposed mechanism, showing an increase in the social surplus.

AbstractThis paper made an attempt to indicate the findings of the author’s research from the experiences of the implementation of the project ‘Including disabled senior citizens in creative activities in 2013-2015’. The issues of disabled senior citizens have been an object of interest over the recent years though it still has not had a proper place in science and practice. In the situation of a painful lack of initiatives, the Foundation for Propagation of Disability Art and Culture of the in Warsaw, as the only institution for promoting creative activity of the disabled in Poland, undertook a number of activities in order to include this social group in the world of culture and art. It appears that participation in creative initiatives has a very positive effect on the quality of the social functioning of disabled senior citizens in their isolation from their own families.

Abstract Purpose To determine the impact of non-cardiovascular comorbidities on the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods A scoping review of the scientific literature published between 2009 and 2019 was carried out. Observational studies which assessed the HRQoL of patients with CHF using validated questionnaires and its association with non-cardiovascular comorbidities were included. Results The search identified 1904 studies, of which 21 fulfilled the inclusion criteria to be included for analysis. HRQoL was measured through specific, generic, or both types of questionnaires in 72.2%, 16.7%, and 11.1% of the studies, respectively. The most common comorbidities studied were diabetes mellitus (12 studies), mental and behavioral disorders (8 studies), anemia and/or iron deficiency (7 studies), and respiratory diseases (6 studies). Across studies, 93 possible associations between non-cardiovascular comorbidities and HRQoL were tested, of which 21.5% regarded anemia or iron deficiency, 20.4% mental and behavioral disorders, 20.4% diabetes mellitus, and 14.0% respiratory diseases. Despite the large heterogeneity across studies, all 21 showed that the presence of a non-cardiovascular comorbidity had a negative impact on the HRQoL of patients with CHF. A statistically significant impact on worse HRQoL was found in 84.2% of associations between mental and behavioral disorders and HRQoL (patients with depression had up to 200% worse HRQoL than patients without depression); 73.7% of associations between diabetes mellitus and HRQoL (patients with diabetes mellitus had up to 21.8% worse HRQoL than patients without diabetes mellitus); 75% of associations between anemia and/or iron deficiency and HRQoL (patients with anemia and/or iron deficiency had up to 25.6% worse HRQoL than between patients without anemia and/or iron deficiency); and 61.5% of associations between respiratory diseases and HRQoL (patients with a respiratory disease had up to 21.3% worse HRQoL than patients without a respiratory disease). Conclusion The comprehensive management of patients with CHF should include the management of comorbidities which have been associated with a worse HRQoL, with special emphasis on anemia and iron deficiency, mental and behavioral disorders, diabetes mellitus, and respiratory diseases. An adequate control of these comorbidities may have a positive impact on the HRQoL of patients.

This research investigates young people’s perception of tourist attractiveness of routes in the Perm region. The study of the youth’s preferences in the choice of tourist objects and events can help to work out recommendations for the development of routes in the region. Methodologically, the research is based on a complex interdisciplinary approach. The basic methods were questioning and observations in a tourist group during travelling on the territory of the Perm region. The study has shown that young people are interested not only in active but also in historical and cultural tours, in most cases showing particular interest in historical attractions, museums, architecture etc. Interactive technologies, amusement components of the tours are attractive to young people, who are especially impressed by master classes. However, the information component of the tours (for example, that provided by museums) is the most important. The study clearly shows that the social stereotype that young people are only interested in amusement is untrue. Thus, in most cases the importance of interactive methods is overestimated. Furthermore, the research demonstrates that young people generally perceive travelling in the Perm region in a positive way, highly estimating the tour programs, the tourist objects, the service and hospitality level, the quality of food and accommodation. The feedbacks of young people on the results of travelling are favorable. The majority of the respondents would recommend these tours to their friends. This investigation has a potential to be continued.

Annotation. In contrast to Ukraine, psychosocial rehabilitation in European countries today is gaining considerable popularity for the socialization and reintegration of patients with mental disorders, for their more adaptive self-improvement. The article analyzes the experience in the EU in the latest, modern, psychosocial methods of providing medical care/rehabilitation to patients with mental disorders to improve patient self-management skills, personal reintegration, development of adaptive properties, self-improvement and to reduce health care costs. Hygienic substantiation of measures to optimize living conditions and treatment and rehabilitation process for patients with mental and behavioral disorders. To perform the tasks in the sociological study involved 92 people – relatives of patients with mental disorders using a specially designed questionnaire: “A method of determining the quality of medical care by relatives of a psychiatric patient and the relationship “doctor-relative””. The survey had conducted in January 2020 before the start of quarantine on COVID-19 and the beginning of the second phase of medical reform in the field of psychiatry. The work used content analysis of domestic and foreign scientific sources, bibliosemantic, analytical, and statistical research methods. It has found that the most significant problems faced by patients in providing them with psychiatric care, according to relatives, are the inconsistency of sanitary and hygienic conditions of patients in psychiatric hospitals – 62.6%, low quality of care – 37.3% and inattentive attitude on the part of medical staff – 34.7%. A sociological survey of relatives of patients with mental and behavioral disorders found that patients are referring for treatment only in critical conditions. Treatment of patients with mental and behavioral disorders nowadays, it is necessary to introduce a comprehensive approach, not just psychopharmacological drugs. To do this, each patient must individually develop psychosocial rehabilitation methods: training in music therapy, communication, motivation, sports training, bibliotherapy, art therapy, animal therapy, training to improve social adaptation, activation of independence, as is done in the EU.
