This research is motivated by the lack of utilization of the media in conducting learning related to space, making spatial literacy of students less explored. In addition, students tend to be more passive and bored quickly when the teacher in delivering learning comes only from the student's textbook. The lack of understanding of students' spatial literacy, in the end causes students to be less careful in making decisions and also solving spatial problems that occur in everyday life. This research was conducted related to the effectiveness of media maps in social studies learning in class V students of elementary schools in Metro City. The purpose of this study was to provide an understanding of students' spatial literacy, especially in material related to space in social studies subjects. The type of this study is quasi-experimental research using the design of nonequivalent groups pre test-post test from Fraenkel and Wallen. The design of nonequivalent groups pre test - post test was started by setting the experimental group and the control group, then doing the pre test, followed by giving treatment to the two classes and ending with a post test. The subjects in this study were fifth grade elementary school students in Metro City. Data collection techniques in the form of tests. The research instrument is a spatial literacy test sheet. Data were analyzed using normality test and Mann Whitney test. The results of this study indicate that the effectiveness of using media maps in social studies learning can provide an understanding of spatial literacy of fifth grade elementary school students in Metro City. This can be seen from the increase in the correct number of each indicator of spatial literacy that is given in the form of determining the location, identifying spatial orientation, determining the closest distance and identifying objects through symbols on the map. The results of this study can be a suggestion for teachers and schools to continue to facilitate social studies learning with appropriate media, especially media maps for material related to space, so as to provide students with more understanding of spatial literacy. The from of this study is classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles, using number playing cards at SDIT Deli Insani in class V Tanjung Morawa. The subjects of this study were the fifth grade students of SDIT Deli Insani, amounting to 30 students. This action was carried out in April 2018. Methods of collecting data using observation and documentation. The data analysis used is quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results of the study showed an increase in students' ability to understand concepts from the first cycle and second cycle. Percentage of increase in pre-action results, cycle I and cycle II students' concept comprehension ability that is 13.04% for indicators identifying number forms using number game cards (dominoes) and indicators solving problems in fractional form operations using dominoes 27.26%. the success indicator in cycle II reaches 80%. Thus the application of number game cards can improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts at SDIT Deli Insani in Class V.

Abstract: Developing a Culture-Based Integrated Learning Model to ImproveStudents’ Appreciation of Local Culture. This study aims to develop a social studylearning model for elementary school students that can help them master subjectmatters as an effort to improve their appreciation of local culture, using an R & Dapproach consisting of three steps: preliminary study, model development andmodel validation. The subjects were teachers and students of elementary schools inBengkulu Province, Sumatra. The results show that the Culture-Based IntegratedLearning Model (CBILM) is an appropriate learning model to help students mastersubject matters as an effort to improve their appreciation of local culture. CBILM ismore capable of significantly improving students’ appreciation of local culture andtheir mastery of subject matters than the currently existing learning model. Keywords: learning model, social studies for elementary schools, cultureappreciation

This research was aimed to know the influence of teachers’ expectation and student’s self-efficacy through the student’s learning achievement of the fifth grade elementary school students in Gugus V Cakranegara academic year 2019/2020. This research is correlational research with total population 259 students which separated in 6 schools. The technique of taken the sample used proportionate random sampling with total sample 157 students. The method of collecting the data that used in this research was documentation and questionnaire method. The achievement showed that the simple regression equation formula I was Y=29.674+0.742X1, so it was obtained the value of learning achievement was 29.674 (a=29.674) and the value of teacher’s expectation was (bX1=0.742). Therefore, thesimple regression equation formula II was Y=23.373+0.699X2, so it was obtained the value of learning achievement was 23.373 (a=23.373) and the value of student’S self-efficacy was 0.699 (bX2=0.699). Hence, in the hypothesis III, the dual regression equation formula was Y=25.937+0.319X1+0.401X2, so it was obtained the valueof learning achievement was 25.937 (a=25.937), the value of teacher’s expectationwas 0.319 and student’s self-efficacy was 0.401 (bX1=0.319; bX2=0.401). So it can be concluded that there were influence of teacher’s expectation and student’s self-efficacy through the students learning achievement in the fifth grade elementary school students in Gugus V Cakranegara academic year 2019/2020.

This research was primarily carried out to prove that the implementation of Talking Stick method could improve students’ English speaking skill and to describe the students’ responses to the implementation of Talking Stick method in the learning teaching processes of English speaking skill. This research is Classroom Action Research (henceforth, CAR) which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four meetings. The research subject of this CAR are the fifth grade students of State Primary School 028226 Binjai Class V-1 in the Academic Year of 2019/2020. There are 33 students as the research subject. The analysis of quantitative data showed that the students’ mean score increased continually from 55,63 in the pretest, 66,36 in the posttest of cycle 1, to 76,81 in the posttest of cycle 2. The analysis of qualitative data showed that the learning teaching processes of English speaking skill through the implementation of Talking Stick method ran very well. The students were more active, and motivated to learn English speaking skill. The class atmosphere was more alive and enjoyable after Talking Stick method was implemented in the English speaking classes. It is advisable that English teachers of primary school students apply Talking Stick method as one of alternatives to improve their students’ English speaking skill.
