Research on “An Analysis of teacher’s strategies on the eleventh-grade students learning activities in EFL classroom at SMA Babus Salam” aimed at finding out the strategies that had been implemented by the English teacher related to the complexity of students in the Islamic boarding school. The approach used in this research was qualitative approach with intrinsic case study as its method. The instrument used in this research was observation and interview. The findings revealed that the English teacher did not rely on specific strategy from the particular method but she used various strategies in order to accomplish the objective of the learning. In addition, the findings also showed that the strategies had helped the students internalizing what they had learned into a real practice. Also, the strategies have provided them with sufficient exposure and opportunity to practice the target language and to accomplish the objective of the learning.

Syllabus Design

This paper analyzed syllabus designed by second grade teacher of elementary level in Yamuda Bilingual Boarding School Takengon. The data employed were a document which was the syllabus and interview result of the English teacher and principal. This is a qualitative case study which analyzed the data by using coding system. The result shows that the English teacher as the designer of the syllabus perceived her collective-planned syllabus positively because it had met the need of her pupils to master the target language and face globalization. Individually, she has a shallow understanding in constructing an ideal syllabus. She might understand the format but not the crucial aspect of syllabus design. Out of six aspects to be reviewed, there are only five aspects fulfilled by her in the syllabus. Yet she did not insert the local content to the syllabus design. Moreover, the syllabus designer neither gave her students a balance diet of language skills nor language aspects. She missed to describe the method used in teaching and learning process and employed a small number of games. On the other hands, this syllabus is a theme-based syllabus design which do favor for young language learners to pick up foreign language; the teacher had a good time table of assessment in order to see her students’ progress during and after the course. Finally, she also mentioned the teaching objectives which directed her to expand her teaching material.

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan sistem dakwah Pondok Pesantren At-Tawazun ditinjau melalui sistem terbuka mulai dari tahap input, conversion, output, feedback, hingga environment dalam upaya mengatasi problematika santri yang dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan zaman. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan spesifikasi penelitian field research (penelitian lapangan). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan pondok pesantren At-Tawazun dirasakan cukup besar manfaatnya oleh orang tua maupun masyarakat. Lembaga dakwah dan pendidikan ini telah ikut berkontribusi dalam menanggulangi masalah sosial dan kenakalan remaja yang semakin rumit, sehingga mampu memberikan lulusan santri yang brakhlak, berbudi luhur dan mampu mengamalkan ilmunya di masyarakat. Lebih dari itu, kehadiran pondok pesantren At-Tawazun diharapkan dapat mengatasi akulturasi budaya yang menyimpang di era sekarang ini. Sehingga semangat generasi muda kita dapat disalurkan terhadak hal-hal positif, untuk kemajuan Agama dan Negara. This paper aims to describe the da’wah system of At-Tawazun Islamic Boarding School through an open system starting from the input, conversion, output, feedback, and environment stages in an effort to overcome the problems of santri that are influenced by the times. This research uses case study method with qualitative approach and field research specification (field research). The results of this study indicate that the existence of the At-Tawazun Islamic Boarding Scool was felt to be of considerable benefit by parent and community. This da’wah and education institution has contributed to tackling social problems and juvenile delinquency that are increasingly complicated, so as to be able to provide graduates who are morally, virtous and able to practice their knowledge in the community, moreover, the presence of the At-Tawazun Islamic Boarding School is expected to overcome the deviant cultural acculturation in the present era. So that the spirit of our young generation can be channeled suddenly to positive things, for the advancement of Religion and the state.

Pesantren, the Islamic boarding school, is the oldest Islamic education in Indonesia and is constantly undergoing changes from time to time. This research uses the qualitative approach. This study aims to describe the application of the heutagogy method in the growth of pesantren education. The results of this study indicate that the Al-Luqmaniyyah salaf Boarding School has already applied the heutagogy learning method, it means that pesantren education precedes the Westerners in terms of its utilization. Through the study and discussion of Kitab Kuning (yellow-colored textbooks about Islamic knowledge), students determine their systems, study materials, and problems to find a solution. Sources of learning for students are not only limited by the Kitab Kuning, but students can also have access through the internet, online books and applications with trusted sources. PSDS is responsible for managing the talents and interests of the santri (a term used in Pesantren to call an apprentice), as well as training santri skills by making films, recording, creativity, writing, making advertisements, making interesting contents on social media. LP2M Al-Luqmaniyyah with its various divisions is required to channel and facilitate what the community needs from the students as they can also learn from the community it self. This research to describe the strategy of Urwatul Wutsqo Islamic boarding school dealing with modernization challenges. The focus of his research is the strategy used by Al-Urwatul Wutsqo Islamic Boarding School deal with the challenges of modernization? 2). the activities forms of the Boarding School's deal with it. 3). the supporting and obstacle factors in the implementation it. This study is a qualitative approach in the form of case study. Data collection methods are done through interviews, observation and documentation. Al Urwatul Wutsqo's Islamic boarding school strategy dealing with modernization is providing integrated education of faith and piety in accordance with the Qur'an and Hadith. The article describes and analyzes ta’lim ma’hadi in al-Hikam Malang Student Islamic Boarding School and the values implemented to develop the moderate character of the mahasantri religion. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. The data in this study were taken through interviews, observation, and document techniques. This study indicates that the al-Hikam Malang student boarding school uses three strategies in religious moderation, namely, nurturing patterns, teaching patterns, and religious patterns. The three strategies are integral in the curriculum that is implemented there. Through the applied curriculum, kyai and asatidz as qudwah hasanah internalize the values of justice, balance, harmony, moderation. As well as being a moderate Muslim, the mahasantri al-Hikam graduate is expected to become a successful entrepreneur.

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe and analize the implementation of holistic education in Amanatul Ummah Islamic Boarding School which is exploring in the terms of educational objectives, curriculum, learning methods, educators and evaluation. This study was uses qualitative approach research with the type of case study. That was describing and analyzing the implementation of holistic education in the Amanatul Islamic Boarding School. Implementation of holistic education in the Amanatul Ummah boarding school were carried out in a strict, responsible and disciplined manner while carrying out all things. The whole educational process from several elements includes: 1) Educational Objectives: the purpose of education in general is to form a whole human being with moral character while specifically covering. Becoming a cleric, a conglomerate, the nation's leader, and be a professional in every fields. 2) curriculum that implemented by using an integrative curriculum between the national curriculum and the standard of Al-Azhar Egypt’s curriculum. 3) Educators are demanded to be professional and has excellent personalities for being a role of models for santri. 4), the methods that applied was various, including traditional methods and contemporary methods. 5). Evaluation: the evaluation was carried out every week, monthly, semester, and yearly. All educational elements are evaluated to realize the Islamic Boarding School's vision and mission. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis implementasi pendidikan holistik pesantren Amanatul Ummah yang dieksplorasi dari segi tujuan pendidikan, kurikulum, metode pembelajaran, pendidik dan evaluasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, yaitu mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis implementasi pendidikan holistik di Pesantren Amanatul Ummah Mojokerto. Hasil penelitian Implementasi pendidikan holistik di pesantren Amanatul Ummah Mojokerto dilaksanakan dengan ketat, bertanggung jawab dan disiplin dalam melaksanakan segala hal. Penerapan proses pendidikan secara utuh dari beberapa elemen meliputi: 1). Tujuan pendidikan secara umum adalah membentuk manusia utuh yang berakhlakul karimah sedangkan secara khusus meliputi. Menjadi ulama`, menjadi konglomerat, menjadikan pemimpin bangsa, menjadi profesional di bidangnya. 2) kurikulum yang diimplementasikan menggunakan kurikulum integratif antara kurikulum nasional dengan kurikulum muadalah berstandar Al-Azhar Mesir. 3) Pendidik dituntut untuk profesional dan memiliki kepribadian yang mantap agar menjadi teladan bagi santri. 4), metode yang diterapkan bervariasi meliputi metode tradisional dan metode kontemporer. 5). Evaluasi: pelaksanaan evaluasi dilakukan setiap mingguan, bulanan, per semester, dan tahunan. Semua elemen pendidikan dievaluasi untuk mewujudkan visi-misi pesantren.

Abstact: Management of an Islamic boarding school institution in an effort to empower santri needs to hold conceptual and strategic operational efforts so as to be able to prepare qualified human resources who are ready to compete in the era of globalization which is full of competence. Kesetaraan dan keadilan gender harus diwujudkan dalam segala aspek kehidupan, termasuk dalam kegiatan pendidikan. Pendidikan responsif gender penting untuk diterapkan di seluruh lembaga pendidikan, sebab baik laki-laki maupun perempuan adalah sama dan berhak untuk memperoleh segala manfaat dalam pendidikan sesuai dengan minat dan bakatnya. SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo merupakan salah satu sekolah kejuruan di Ponorogo dengan jumlah siswa perempuan yang minoritas.Perempuan sering kali dianggap lebih banyak memiliki kelemahan di dalam kegiatan praktik dibandingkan laki-laki.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesetaraan dan keadilan gender pada pembelajaran program keahlian teknik di SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo.Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Sumber data berasal dari kata-kata, tindakan, sumber tertulis dan foto yang berkaitan dengan proses kegiatan pembelajaran jurusan teknik di SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kesetaraan dan keadilan gender di SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo telah terwujud. Dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, baik siswa perempuan maupun laki-laki, mendapatkan akses yang sama, kesempatan untuk berpartisipasi, memiliki kontrol dan dapat mengambil manfaat secara maksimal.Namun masih terjadi ketidaksetaraan gender, yakni pada kategori pelabelan, subordinasi dan pemiskinan. [Gender equality and justice are must be realized in all aspects of life, including educational activities. Gender responsive education is important to be implemented in all educational institutions, because both men and women are the same and are entitled to get all the benefits in education in accordance with their interests and talents. SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo is one of the vocational schools in Ponorogo with a number of minority female students. Women are often considered to have more weaknesses in practical activities than men. This study aims to analyze gender equality and justice in learning technical skills programs at SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo. The approach that used in this research is a qualitative approach with the type of case study. The source of the data comes from words, actions, written sources and photos that are all forms of data relating to the process of learning activities in the engineering department at SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo. The results show that gender equality and justice in SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo have been realized. In learning activities, both female and male students get equal access, the opportunity to participate, have control and can take maximum advantage. However, there is still a gender inequality, namely in the categories of labelling, subordination and impoverishment.]

This research was intended to describe the strategies used by the teacher in teaching TOEFL preparation to support the students especially listening skill, the steps the teacher to implementing the strategies teacher, and the problem faced in enhancement 25% listening score in listening skill. This methodology was qualitative research with case study, the subject of the research was English teacher TOEFL preparation in EF Course Cilegon. The collecting data of this research used data display, data reduction and conclusion focus this research is strategies in teaching listening section in TOEFL and sub focus are direct and indirect in teaching listening section in TOEFL Preparation. The result strategies of this research are used simulation, discussions, giving tips and tricks, the course used ICT modern era, games, and motivation, the conclusion is There are some statements for the student participant about teacher strategies in teaching TOEFL Preparation. They are: First, teacher strategies can improve confidence in good speaker and listener. Second, teacher strategies can make students feel easier to take exam TOEFL. Third, the student often listening native speakers to understand can be enhanced. Fourth, the student can be more active how take TOEFL be well. the last, the student knows how to know type question in TOEFL especially listening section of the strategies. The writer found sixth strategies used by the EF Cilegon to teach TOEFL Preparation especially listening section.

Pesantren is always be a solution for problems of the nation and state life. Since the era of independence day until today, pesantren becomes the frontline in responding of challenges and changing times. The rise hoaxes make peoples restless, because its presence makes people feel scared, fragmented, mutual hatred between each other. Pesantren as a place to learn religious sciences have a duty and responsibility to straighten and tackle the news hoax, especially the news hoaxes on behalf of Pesantren, or kiai. This study examines the boarding school strategies in tackling a hoax. This research is a field research by using descriptive qualitative approach. There are two strategies undertaken by Darul Ulum boarding Banyuanyar to combat the hoaxes. The first is emphasizing the use of social media, and the second is counter narrative through santries writing which are then can be distributed on  social media. Furthermore, the steps that have been done to overcome the hoaxes are by holding workshop by the term of hoaxes attack and establishing Banyuanyar Media Tim (BM TIM) as the solutions to overcome the hoaxes.
