Philosophy always lies at the heart of any science, regardless of how non-ideological and positivistic it claims to be; and the structure, conceptual apparatus and research methodology depend on it, whether the scientists acknowledge it or not. It is all primarily in general scientific paradigm. It so happens that key axioms, both theoretical and methodological, of modern science are materialistic. The case is that even if any scientist would like to abandon those doubtful axioms, he would continue to think along those lines as the very scientific language and scientific thought are based on them, otherwise instead of science we’ll get just an assortment of value judgments. To abandon materialistic scientific language will require sufficient efforts. Such paradigms as “created world”, the presence of “immortal origin” in a human being, etc, can’t be rationally proved, as well as, for example, phylogenesis; but they work none the worse as science methodological basis. The science won’t become any less scientific, if it is built on different basis but with adhering to scientific methodology, some specific cognitive modus of science. At the same time, the scientific language itself should be renewed. Thus we’ll try to remodel culturology. This article is a fragment of a big project, started at the initiative of the author with the goal of reformatting culturology on the basis of Orthodox patristic anthropology.

Technologies alter the way of living and work of a person. The Internet world network makes it easier to quickly access useful information. Social, cultural and educational competitiveness are influenced by educational technologies that positively influence the style, duration and method of education in higher education institutions. Distance education can be used as a full-fledged self-sufficient form, or as a Supplement to classical training in classrooms. The author considers distance learning as an alternative to the traditional form of teaching in higher education institutions during periods of self-isolation (pandemics, seasonal quarantines), as well as as an addition to traditional forms of education. The problem and positive aspects of using this form are analyzed. Possible formats of training in the conditions of distance education are specified. The strengths and weaknesses of the use of certain technologies are highlighted.

Palavras-chave: Educação a distância; Materiais didáticos; Layout.?Didactic Materials for Distance Education: Observing LayoutsAbstract The inclusion of distance education in formal educational processes pointed training opportunities in higher education for those who are distant from training centers and, in addition, unveiled research objects. Approaches and Theories of Learning Proposed by the Projects of Pedagogy Distance Education Course for the Development of Educational TechnologiesAbstractThis paper presents the results of a study that aimed to identify from which learning approaches and theories come the didactic and pedagogical principles that the Courses Pedagogical Project o (PPCs) of Pedagogy distance courses offered by federal universities in the Northeast region propose to design and develop their educational technologies (environments, materials and activities). After a literature review of approaches and learning theories, followed by the documentary and content analysis of PPCs, we identified that the prevail principles come from New School, Constructivist and Socioconstrutivism. However: a) the documents are not objectives on how to operationalize these principles in designing and developing environments, materials and activities, and; b) the learning evaluation processes (and instruments) are not described or are inaccurate. These findings suggest that the PPCs, the basic documentation of the courses, are not used as references for designing and developing the educational technologies used in the investigated courses. Keywords: Distance education, Pedagogy, Learning theories, Educational technologies, Course projects.

Universities play a key role in modern societies inserted into a globalized economic world. This chapter studies how informational competencies, entrepreneurship, and integral values in higher education are necessary to foster economic growth and fight corruption. The authors especially are focused on distance education as it can be a tool to fight poverty by diminishing high illiteracy rates, mainly existing in developing countries. The purpose of the chapter is two-fold: 1) to study the impact of informational competencies in both education and entrepreneurship, and 2) to emphasize the importance of acquiring integral values by learners to be applied into educational processes based on emotional intelligence. As a result, students will be defined as prospective entrepreneurs endowed with the ability to recognize, internalize and understand emotions to be adjusted into relations and business behavior to impulse their goals. And in this sense, online education has an important role to play, especially in postgraduate studies, as in the case of MOOCs that are also analyzed.

Videoconference and audioconference have been used for communications in businesses for many years. In teaching and learning videoconference has been used for at least the last 15 years and possibly longer. Videoconference and audioconference technologies have been used in education, especially in distance education where students and teachers are in different locations. Like all educational technologies, videoconference and audioconference are suited to some and not all teaching and learning activities. Before these established real time communications technologies (RTCs) and the newer technology video chat are explored they need to be carefully defined to eliminate or minimize confusion.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to present a general scientific methodology on tenets from Mario Bunge’s philosophy. Design/methodology/approach – Systemic thinking and conceptual generalisation. Findings – A general scientific methodology based on tenets from Mario Bunge’s philosophy of social science. Research limitations/implications – Using quantitative methods to conduct a research to test Asplunds motivation theory and North’s action theory. Practical implications – How to conduct a research based on a systemic perspective. Social implications – An advantage of linking a systemic perspective to organisational psychology studies is that it may result in new ways of looking at old problems and bring new perspectives to the methods used. One explanation may be the fact that while researchers within various organisational psychology subject fields are largely specialists, the systemic perspective is oriented towards general scientific methodology. Originality/value – The authors have not seen anybody who have tried to apply systemic thinking as a general methodology for research.
