E-learning in the training is becoming inevitability with condition changes due to pandemics.  However, it urges the researcher to study some comparison on how the training actors give responses and expectation towards the conventional face-to-face model which once was prima donna. This study uses descriptive analytical studies and the data taken from questionnaires against 187 training participants as respondents, 7 committees, and 12 trainers or widyaiswaras. The data is processed and analyzed by using SPSS. The results yielded that the average scores of distance learning were more dominant (greater) than those in classical for all respondent’s categories (the committees, widyaiswaras, and participants). The study shows a tendency that distance training is more effective compared to classical training.

Despite being heavily used in the training of deep neural networks (DNNs), multipliers are resource-intensive and insufficient in many different scenarios. Previous discoveries have revealed the superiority when activation functions, such as the sigmoid, are calculated by shift-and-add operations, although they fail to remove multiplications in training altogether. In this paper, we propose an innovative approach that can convert all multiplications in the forward and backward inferences of DNNs into shift-and-add operations. Because the model parameters and backpropagated errors of a large DNN model are typically clustered around zero, these values can be approximated by their sine values. Multiplications between the weights and error signals are transferred to multiplications of their sine values, which are replaceable with simpler operations with the help of the product to sum formula. In addition, a rectified sine activation function is utilized for further converting layer inputs into sine values. In this way, the original multiplication-intensive operations can be computed through simple add-and-shift operations. This trigonometric approximation method provides an efficient training and inference alternative for devices with insufficient hardware multipliers. Experimental results demonstrate that this method is able to obtain a performance close to that of classical training algorithms. The approach we propose sheds new light on future hardware customization research for machine learning.

As a result of evolution, humanity transitioned from a nomadic to a sedentary way of life, from hunting and gathering to crop production and animal husbandry. Domestication involved capturing wild horses and adapting them to the conditions in which they were raised by humans. This resulted in a change in the treatment of horses and the perception of their emotional needs. The focus shifted to building relationships with the horse, understanding it, and treating it as a rational being. Currently, horses are seen as one of the most intelligent animals ‘cooperating’ with people. In this study, 62 horses at four equestrian centres were examined. The horses included mares, stallions and geldings between the ages of 3 and 26 years, belonging to eight breeds: Arabian, Malopolski, Hucul, Polish Half-Bred, Silesian, Polish Coldblood, Shetland pony, and Haflinger. The analysis of forms of horse training indicated that all centres used classical training methods for 100% of their horses. The trainers declared interest in natural methods, but as support for classical training. Natural methods of working with horses were applied at centres 2 and 3, where horses were ridden both for recreation and for sport. This type of training was not observed at centre 1, where horses were used only for recreational riding, or at centre 4, which dealt mainly in breeding and training of race horses. Horses at centre 3 and most of those at centre 2 took part in in Parelli’s Seven Games, Join-Up, and desensitization to unknown objects, and imprinting of foals was practiced. This indicates that horse trainers are currently applying natural methods, but are not completely giving up classical training. A study was carried out to investigate the approach of contemporary horse breeders to forms of housing and use with respect to their interest in foal imprinting, natural horsemanship, Join-Up, and desensitization to unknown objects.

British choreographer Cathy Marston has sustained a choreographic career for more than three decades. Her work crosses European ballet cultures and extends from her classical training into a current contemporary ballet context. Focusing on Marston’s narrative works, this chapter demonstrates her position as a translator of literary texts, specifically Charlotte Brönte’s Jane Eyre. Through a dual-layered exploration of her choreographic process, the chapter offers an examination of her use of European theater practices and design strategies, including regietheater, suggesting her liminal positioning between Continental and British stylistic traits. Furthermore, the chapter discusses the collaborative construction methods used by Marston through a descriptive analysis of the development of Jane Eyre, a ballet created for Northern Ballet (Leeds) in 2016.

Analyzed is the problem, connected with the fact, that scientific community has long been concerned about effectiveness of the system of postgraduate education. It has changed a lot in recent years. Today’s PhD graduates do not have enough classical training; they need to acquire a broader set of skills required for their future research activity beyond the academy. In this regard, PhD graduates have not considered their employment in the scientific field as a whole since the 2000s. Thus some areas of training programs have been massed, which has led to the depreciation of the academic degree. Since 2014, the Russian postgraduate training system has been functioning as the third level of higher education being the integration of educational and research components. Changes have led to the fact that doctoral programs have become more pedagogically oriented, preparing the future candidate of Sciences to work in higher and secondary education. At the moment, the graduation level is approximately 12% of the total number of graduate doctorate students. The percentage of doctoral graduates’ completion has continued to decline steadily since 2014. The article deals with the postgraduates` attitudes towards postgraduate education and scientific and teaching activity.

Here we present the conception, implementation and application of a virtual environment simulator dedicated to the assessment and training of slap shot performance in hockey. The simulator is based on human-avatar interaction, namely a real shooter and a virtual goalkeeper whose behavior is dependent on that of the shooter. The synthesis of the virtual goalkeeper relied on a high-quality model and realistic, motion-captured movements. A regression model based on Kriging was used to predict in real-time the shooter's behavior in order to trigger the blocking moves of the virtual goalkeeper at the right time. Our model provided accurate predicted values as well as an estimation of the reliability of these values, which allowed us to optimize the behavioral animation of the virtual goalkeeper. We then ran a validation experiment testing the effectiveness of our simulator. The simulator proved very useful both to assess the initial performance of the players and to train and improve this performance. In particular, training as little as 3 hours with our simulator gave rise to substantial and significant improvements (up to 22 percent) of the redirection threshold, i.e., the minimum time required to successfully redirect a shot during movement execution when the outcome is imperiled. Importantly, in comparison with ‘classical’ training methods, our simulator better triggers (precisely and timely) the movements of the goalkeeper based on the movements of the shooter.
