The reliability of computer-based information systems is largely determined by the reliability of the developed application software. The failure rate of its computer program is considered as an indicator of the reliability of the application software. To determine the expected reliability of the application software planned for the development (until writing the code of a program), the model is proposed that uses some parameters of the future computer program, data on the influence of various factors on its reliability, and further testing of the program. The model takes into account the field of software application and computer processor performance. The process of model parameters obtaining is analyzed., It is possible by use of proposed model to determine the predicted failure rate of the planned application computer program, and then the reliability of the computer-based information system as a whole. If necessary, the measures can be developed to ensure the required level of reliability of the computer-based information system.

The development and progress of IT-based information technology is very rapidly developing and has a very important role. Information systems are a necessity for agencies to utilize information as a basis for data administration and processing. To meet these needs, the agency conducts activities related to computer-based information systems as a tool to increase employee creativity. This system is designed to handle the transaction of escort and payment salary calculations and can guarantee validiity, complete authorization, classification of assessments, timeliness of each payroll transaction. In the Middle School Nusantara Wisata Respati Middle School still uses a manual payroll system, which is Microsoft Excel, so that people who are not authorized to enter and view data and can change the impact will disrupt the activity in processing salary data. For this reason, it is necessary to design a Java-based payroll information system at the Respati Archipelago Tourism Middle School.

Abstract - Ordering and billing transactions of food and beverages in a restaurant business are in the revenue cycle. Transactions in the revenue cycle have an important role for the company because from this transaction the company gets cash income. The use of information technology to support the transaction process can increase the effectiveness of the transaction process. Transactions can be processed quickly and accurately. Restaurant business can use accounting information systems to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of transaction processes in the revenue cycle. A computer-based accounting information system is needed in processing transactions. In this study, the authors developed the application of accounting information systems to process transactions in the revenue cycle for restaurant business activities. This application processes transaction data starting from ordering, payment and making revenue reports from restaurant business activities. Keywords: Order, Billing, Accounting Information System

Data from a field study were used to assess the relationship between two individual differences variables, (a) rigidity, (b) self-esteem, and beliefs and attitudes toward the introduction of a computer-based information system. Multiple regression and correlation analyses showed that rigidity was negatively related to computer-related beliefs and attitudes. Further, the data indicated that self-esteem was not related to either computer-related beliefs or attitudes. Implications of these results for dealing with resistance to computerization are discussed.

The rapid development of computer technology and information greatly helps work in storing, accessing to data processing becomes faster and easier, this has triggered various fields in utilizing this with the use of computer-based information systems, especially for intelligence units in western security police. The system that will be created uses access to the virtual host-based client server. Modeling used UML modeling, this system is built using PHP programming language and MYSQL database. The results of the study show that the information system designed can process criminal data and is able to be implemented at the research site..

Abstract: Computer-based accounting information systems can be used by companies to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of the processes of business transactions that occur in the company. The income accounting cycle which is one of the cycles in an accounting information system needs attention because this cycle produces revenue transactions which are a financial source for the company. The use of computer-based systems in this cycle can also provide added value in the form of improving services to customers. To implement a computer-based accounting information system, a software is needed to process revenue transactions. In this study, the authors developed an application of accounting information systems to process transactions in the income cycle found in vehicle workshop businesses. This application processes transaction data starting from ordering repair services, recording spare parts usage, repair service fees, bill payments and and making income reports on workshop business activities. Keywords: revenue cycle, repairation service, accounting information system

Seeing the importance of accounting information systems today for organizational progress in helping the implementation of accounting bookkeeping, so it requires a fast and accurate recording process. CV. Surya Anugerah Investindo is a developing company in the field of cobroke property, there is still no accounting information system so that making accounting books is still manual. The weaknesses are that the management or the data process is slow, requires a lot of effort or stages, the information generated has a high enough potential for error. The purpose of this study is to try to design and implement an accounting information system based on Microsoft Excel to produce accounting bookkeepers as needed. Data obtained directly from the company through interviews and documentation. Based on the data obtained, states that the accounting information system CV. Surya Anugerah Investindo has not implemented a computer-based accounting information system. From these weaknesses, researchers provide suggestions for the design of accounting books using a Microsoft Excel-based accounting information system

<p>Information systems have become important factors in a company, where information systems are useful in providing useful information for the company itself. The information system helps companies implement corporate activities at the beginning of the process until the decision making. In the concept Information system, we know the term of vertical information system, which is another strategy for increasing vertical information capacity. Vertical information system includes the periodic report, written information, and computer-based communications distributed to managers. In this article, discusses the approach in the development of vertical information system which will be preceded by comparison of operational systems, management information systems, and business intelligence systems. We will give explanations about the role in the BI system in an organization, the challenges faced in the implementation of vertical information systems, approaches in vertical information systems, approaches that we choose, and how it implement in  civil servant teachers data in Manado City.</p><p> </p>

This paper uses a case study to illustrate and further extend the notion of ‘socially destructive systems’. Baskerville and Land define a destructive information system as either coming apart internally or threatening to take their environment apart. Building upon their insights, this paper suggests that destructive systems emerge from the very attributes that attract organisations to information systems in the first place - a phenomenon encapsulated by the so-called ‘Icarus paradox’. Icarus flew so close to the Sun that his wax wings that had enabled him to fly in the first place melted sending him plunging to his death. The case study of an insurance company shows how a system that increased claims processing productivity in the short run resulted in higher costs and lower customer satisfaction in the long run. The paradox is explained by a disconnect between ‘espoused-theory’ and ‘theory-in-use’. Issues for further research include developing techniques of impact analysis to measure recursive losses arising from ‘destructive systems’ and for gauging the level of complexity at which computer-based automation becomes counterproductive. An important recommendation for practice is that computer-based systems are efficient only to a point. For more complex tasks organisations may need to put more emphasis upon developing people.

This paper aims firstly to describe the existing Melbourne Family Care Organisation (M.F.C.O.) Service Information System (S.I.S.) and how it was developed. Although the system was developed to meet our own needs, it has also from the outset been considered to be an innovative demonstration to the field with the hope that other welfare agencies will organise their own systematic data collections to allow for pooling of information and thereby facilitating advocacy, lobbying and social comment. A copy of the computer program, therefore, is available free of charge to any agencies who consider it may be appropriate for them. Secondly, M.F.C.O. would like to share some of their experiences in the hope that other agencies interested in undertaking development of their own systems, may be able to avoid some of the pitfalls we encountered.
