Mail server is one of the most widely used server functions in the company. This discusses e-mail itself which can reduce mailing costs, is more efficient than manual communication and can be used as attachments that are useful as a supplement and additional documents related to the contents of e-mail. Zimbra is a mail server application that provides complete features and also makes it easy to install mail server management, also mail server security issues are a factor that must be considered by the system administrator. The security design for e-mail servers addresses the importance of being able to prevent spam e-mail attacks that can fill e-mail servers and make mail server performance faster. Because a good mail server security can optimize the performance of the mail server itself. In this final project, the work and implementation of the zimbra mail server security will be carried out specifically for handling email spam. The zimbra email server will analyze its security against spam email attacks, so that it can function as an email server on the company.

<p class="Abstrak">Surat elektronik atau <em>email</em> merupakan media komunikasi yang sangat populer. Untuk mengirim dan menerima email, diperlukan sebuah penyedia <em>(server)</em> yang di dalamnya terdapat layanan <em>email</em>. <em>Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS)</em> merupakan salah satu aplikasi <em>mail server powerfull</em> yang dapat dipergunakan sebagai aplikasi <em>mail</em> <em>server</em> dalam jumlah user puluhan hingga ribuan. Pada penelitian ini, sistem enkripsi pada Zimbra <em>multiple-mail</em> <em>server</em> menggunakan metode OpenPGP  diimplementasikan untuk mengamankan isi <em>email</em> yang dikirim maupun yang diterima, yaitu dengan memanfaatkan <em>public key</em> dan <em>private key</em>. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan metode <em>OpenPGP </em> mampu bekerja dengan baik untuk keamanan sistem pengiriman dan atau penerimaan <em>email</em> pada <em>multi mail server</em>.</p><p class="Abstrak"> </p><p class="Abstrak"><em><strong>Abstract</strong></em></p><p class="Abstract"><em>Electronic mail or e-mail is a very popular communication medium. To send and receive e-mails, a provider (server) is needed in which there is an e-mail service. Zimbra Collaboration Suite (ZCS) is one powerful mail server application that can be used as a mail server application in the number of users from tens to thousands. In this study, the encryption system on the Zimbra multiple-mail server uses the OpenPGP  method to be implemented to secure the contents of e-mails sent and received, namely by using the public key and private key. The test results show that the OpenPGP  method works well for the security of the email sending/receiving system on a multi-mail server.</em></p>

Filter spam yang disediakan oleh situs penyedia layanan email seperti yahoo, gmail, aim mail, windows live hotmail, dan masih banyak lagi yang lainnya, merupakan fasilitas yang sangat bermanfaat bagi para usernya. Filter spam tidak akan berfungsi sebagaimana yang diharapkan oleh user client. Pada saat alamat email para client sudah pernah di subscribe dengan tujuan tertentu seperti misalnya untuk registrasi mailing list, newsgroup, dan lain sebagainya, maka alamat emailnya itu sudah tidak aman lagi dari para spammer. Pada dasarnya para admin mail server hanya menggunakan secara langsung filter spam yang disediakan oleh mail server yang diinstal, tanpa memberikan penyettingan tertentu yang dibutuhkan client sama sekali. Para user sendiri yang seharusnya lebih aktif dalam menyaring spam pada email yang digunakan dengan banyak cara. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan aplikasi mail client Thunderbird untuk menyaring spam dengan metode Bayesian sebagai kelanjutan dari menyaring spam yang sudah tersaring sebelumnya pada sisi mail server dan bertujuan menganalisis hasil pengklasifikasian email ham dan email spam pada mail server dan mail client. Disimpulkan bahwa nilai akurasi dan error filter spam pada mail server berhubungan dengan filter Spam-Assassin yang tidak disetting dan dikonfigurasi oleh adminnya menunjukkan hasil yang tidak memuaskan dibandingkan dengan filter spam metode bayesian pada mail client yang sudah di-training.Spam filters provided by your email service provider websites such as yahoo, gmail, AIM mail, windows live hotmail, and many others, is a very powerful feature for the user. The spam filter will not work as expected by the client user. at the time of the email address of the client has been ever subscribe to a specific purpose such as for registration, mailing lists, newsgroups, and so forth, then the email address is no longer safe from spammers. Basically the admin mail server directly using only the spam filter provided by the mail server is installed, without giving a specific setting it takes the client at all. The users themselves are supposed to be more active in the spam filter on the email that is used in many ways. This study utilizes Thunderbird mail client application to filter spam with Bayesian methods as a continuation of the spam filter that has been previously filtered on the mail server and to analyze the results of the classification of ham and spam e-mail on the mail server and mail client. It was concluded that the accuracy and error spam filter on the mail server associated with the filter Spam-Assassin is not be set and configured by the admin showed unsatisfactory results compared with the Bayesian method to filter spam mail client that is already in-training

This paper reports on an in-depth examination of the impact of the backing filesystems to Docker performance in the context of Linux container-based virtualization. The experimental design was a 3x3x4 arrangement, i.e., we considered three different numbers of Docker containers, three filesystems (Ext4, XFS and Btrfs), and four application workloads related to Web server I/O activity, e-mail server I/O activity, file server I/O activity and random file access I/O activity, respectively. The experimental results indicate that Ext4 is the most optimal filesystem, among the considered filesystems, for the considered experimental settings. In addition, the XFS filesystem is not suitable for workloads that are dominated by synchronous random write components (e.g., characteristical for mail workload), while the Btrfs filesystem is not suitable for workloads dominated by random write and sequential write components (e.g., file server workload).


E-mail system is one of the critical infrastructures of any organization. It is necessary to ensure that the mail servers in use should be secured in such a way that no security properties like confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity are compromised. To achieve these security properties we have setup a secure e-mail server testbed that provides security against malware and spam, and guaranties secure e-mail delivery. This paper proposes a secure methodology for filtering spam and malware in the e-mail system, comprising standard layers of protocols and policies. An experimental testbed is established to evaluate the effectiveness of our methodology and was tested with spam and malware e-mails. Our results showed an accuracy of 95 percent, against a typical configuration of an e-mail system.

Today, most business processes and communications as well as a lot of everyday life situations involve IT technology. Apart from requirements on functionality, this development of IT systems has increased the need for security. Security issues are reaching the main headlines in the media on a regular basis. Virus, worms, misconfiguration and program bugs are common problems in a world where new releases and updates are almost as frequently announced as spam e-mail pop-ups in our inboxes.

Phishing is a new form of online crime where the unsuspecting user is tricked into revealing his/her personal information. It is usually conducted using social engineering or technical deceit–based methods. The various ways in which phishing can take place are described in this chapter. This is followed by a description of key strategies that can be adopted for protection of end users and organizations. The end user protection strategies include desktop protection agents, password management tools, secure e-mail, simple and trusted browser setting, and digital signature. Among corporate protection strategies are such measures as e-mail personalization, mail server authentication, monitoring transaction logs, detecting unusual downloading activities, token based and multifactor authentication, domain monitoring, and Web poisoning. Some of the commercially available and popular anti-phishing products are also described in this chapter.

Teknologi virtualisasi server merupakan penggunaan bersama satu mesin fisikal oleh beberapa sistem operasi server. Perancangan dan implementasi mail server ini dibangun dengan menggunakan Debian.5 sebagai base operating system server. Perancangan dan implementasi mail server ini dibangun dengan menggunakan dns server, web server dan mail server/squirrelmail, di konfigurasi menggunakan bantuan aplikasi virtualbox sebagai server. DNS (Domain Name System) adalah sebuah sistem yang menyimpan informasi tentang nama host maupun nama domain dalam bentuk basis data tersebar (distributed database) di dalam jaringan komputer, misalkan Internet. Aplikasi yang digunakan untuk menangani penghantaran pesan mail adalah mail server. Mail server ini senantiasa menerima pesan dari e-mail client yang digunakan user, atau mungkin dari server e-mail lainnya. Web mail berfungsi untuk mengirim dan melihat pesan email melalui web browser. Konfigurasi squirrelmail dilakukan dengan menjalankan skrip conf.pl : $/var/www/wemail/config/ conf.pl. Layanan Exchange Server antara lain : Directory Service, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Post Office Protocol ( POP3 ), IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol), Complementary Services, System Attendant. Untuk Proses Pengiriman Mail Server dapat dilihat pada nomor 5.2. Kata Kunci: Squirrelmail, Exchange Server, DNS Server, Web Server, Mail Server.

In the world of IT technology is growing rapidly, with the rapid development of these specialized companies engaged in the procurement of bandwidth must always conduct searches about IT technology in the field of network services. And the flow of highly needed data or information exchange continues to increase, one of which is via e-mail. In small companies that do not have their own e-mail server or email server backup, they look for services to hosting, network or service companies engaged in data services. Therefore PT NAP Info Lintas Nusa wishes to improve services by adding new services, namely the Email server service. This service is intended for companies that do not have their own e-mail server or companies that want to back up their e-mail. In this case PT NAP Info Lintas Nusa does not yet have specific criteria to determine what operating system will be used that can support the running of the service. So the company decided to use the AHP method with expert choice to determine what criteria would be chosen so as to determine the alternative to be chosen.

Cloud-based Applications are suitable tools in the E-learning system, and they bring the most facilities in E-learning due to availability and on-demand self-services. During Covid-19 lockdown, while presential learning stopped and E-learning started. The Ministry of Higher Education has begun E-learning in public and private universities. Therefore, Afghanistan’s universities used Cloud-based Apps in E-learning, but these Apps are not identifying and ranking in the E-learning of Afghanistan. This study aims to identify and rank the Cloud-based Apps in terms of usefulness and effectiveness in E-learning using state-of-the-art, and its usage in public universities of Afghanistan. To get an accurate answer to the defined questions, mixed research was used. Therefore, an online questionnaire was distributed randomly to six public universities in six different parts of Afghanistan. The respondents were divided into two categories (lecturers and students) and asked to respond to Cloud-based Apps usage and effectiveness in E-learning. The responses were analySed using Chi-Square Tests. The result showed the most, low, and lowest useful Cloud-based Apps in E-learning. In conclusion, the research finding showed that Google Classroom was the most LMS, WhatsApp was the most mobile instant messaging, Gmail was the most E-mail server and Skype was the most video conferencing Cloud-based Apps in E-learning in most public universities of Afghanistan.
