Toll roads can reduce travel time to be shorter, easier, more convenient, and smooth. However, many road users neglact safety because it’s too comfortable with road conditions that are straight, smooth, and without obstacles. Many road users who drive vehicles exceed the required traffic signs, causing traffic accident. Within 10 months of the operation of the Ngawi-Kertosono toll road on April 1, 2018, until February 24, 2019, traffic accidents reached 59 accidents on the Madiun-Wilangan toll road. From these data, it’s necessary to study the causes of toll road traffic accidents in accident-prone areas. As a first step, it’s necessary to determine the black site and black spots and the relationship between the geometric factors of the road to reduce the number of traffic accidents on the Madiun-Wilangan toll road. This calculation analysis uses the Z-Score and Cusum method by finding the black spot and black site areas. Based on the results of the analysis there are accident-prone areas on the toll road that is from KM 602 to 622 where the Z-Score is 1.733> 0 and Cusum 7.64> 0 so that the accident-prone area can be found on the Black Site and Black Spot results on the road location Madiun, Caruban and Caruban-Wilangan toll road. Suggestions from research need to be conducted outreach or outreach related to traffic and road safety regulations that often have accidents.

Every year we lose many young road users in road traffic accidents. Based on traffic accident data issued by the Indonesian National Police in 2017, the number of casualties was highest in the age group 15-19, with 3,496 minor injuries, 400 seriously injured and 535 deaths. This condition is very alarming considering that student as the nation's next generation lose their future due to the accidents. This figure does not include other traffic violations, not having a driver license, not wearing a helmet, driving opposite the direction, those given ticket and verbal reprimand. To reduce traffic accident for young road user, road safety campaigns were organized in many schools in Jakarta. This activity aims to socialize the road safety program to increase road safety awareness among young road users/students including the dissemination of Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation. Another purpose of this program is to accompany school administrators to set up a School Safe Zone (ZoSS), a location on particular roads in the school environment that are time-based speed zone to set the speed of the vehicle. The purpose of this paper is to promote the road safety campaigns strategies by considering various campaign tools.

The limited funding for the road industry leads to economizing in the planning of road network maintenance, to identifying the appropriate priorities of the activities with the greatest benefit for the society. The level of maintenance is the direct assessment of the road operation and maintenance service provided to the road users; it directly affects the road maintenance and for road users costs the better is road maintenance, the road users incur the fewerexpenses and vice versa. Insufficient road maintenance in the winter time causes not only the danger of traffic accidents but also worsens the driving conditions, increases the fuel consumption, vehicle depreciation, transportation becomes more expensive. Many results of studies showed that the current choice of maintenance levels in the winter time taking into account only the road category and traffic volume does not ensure the indicators of the most advanced world countries and road functional purpose. The principle of the minimal expenses for the society should be the main criterion in identifying the optimal levels of winter road maintenance. The experience of Lithuania and foreign countries helped in creating the model of assessment of winter maintenance levels for Lithuanian roads of national significance, which can be applied in the other foreign countries as well. This model could be an effective tool for the selection of the optimal maintenance levels, which would economically substantiate the winter road maintenance strategy, that best corresponds to the needs of the society.

Traffic roads are a core element of GIS and many volunteered systems like openstreetmaps have the goal to make road data publicly available. Road users collecting geographical information and sharing them according some rules are a great opportunity to make our roads a safer place. Traffic accidents are a major cause of death and with increase in urbanization and motorization the risk is expected to rise higher. Research regarding road safety is mostly reactive; sections of the road where a lot of accidents has already happened are investigated and possibly causes are identified and then improved. This means, that people have to die in order to make those road sections safe. The system described in this chapter is a proactive method and can be operated by the community or some responsible authority. The gathered data is also very useful for different research areas like social sciences or civil engineering.

The world is paying more and more attention to the safety of vulnerable road users, and especially the safety of pedestrians. The reason for that is the large representation of vulnerable participants in the total number of victims in traffic accidents. Belgrade stood out as especially unsafe for pedestrians, because their endangerment is higher than the world average, but also higher than in the rest of Serbia. In order to increase the safety of pedestrians, appropriate management measures are applied, which are, as a rule, based on the recognized influencing factors of the occurrence of these accidents. For that reason, it is extremely important to define the real influencing factors in the right way. One of the best tools for recognizing the impact of road factors is the independent assessment of the impact of the road on accidents, which the road manager, according to the Law, is obliged to conduct in the event of a traffic accident with fatalities. The paper analyzes 59 traffic accidents with dead pedestrians, which occurred in the period from 15.05.2019. to 06/02/2021 years on the territory of the city of Belgrade and for which an independent assessment of the impact of the road was conducted. The results indicate that the road factor had an impact on the occurrence of more than half of the traffic accidents with dead pedestrians. Also, the results indicate the existence of a number of different influencing factors, which indicates the need for further implementation of these analyzes. The paper presents characteristic examples of the most commonly identified influencing factors.

The Road Segment is considered to have frequent traffic accidents. The study aims to analyze the relationship between geometric aspects and the occurrence of accidents, compare actual speed with plan speed, and analyzing the completeness of the traffic signs on this section to identify the causes of accidents that occurred at that location. The stages of analysis is by doing the geometric calculation of the road and compared with the requirements in the regulation then identifying whether there is a relationship between accidents that occur with geometric conditions, vehicle speed, and the signs completeness. Identification and results of geometric analysis is known that Black Spot are on bend road I (km 46+300) there were 22 accidents due to breaking road markings, 6 accidents due to extreme bend, and 4 accidents due to road slackness throughout 2012 – 2018. On the bend road II (km 46+440) there were 5 accidents due to breaking road markings and on the bend road III (km 46+520) there were 3 accidents due to road slackness. with the result that there is a relationship between geometric conditions with accidents that occur and after being analyzed the completeness of the traffic signs is still lacking and needs to be completed.

Abstract: Traffic signs that are installed on either side of the road that we often see when driving on the highway have certain meanings and goals. The installation of traffic signs is one of the public services that the government must carry out by the relevant agencies for the convenience of road users and reduce the number of traffic accidents. Aside from being a guide, the signs also functioned as a warning for road users about the conditions and situation of the road to be passed. For this reason, road users must understand and understand the meaning of the signs installed. But for various reasons, many people have not had the opportunity to learn and understand the meaning and purpose of signs of traffic signs. This article discusses the application of help and care for hit-and-run victims that have resulted in death in the city of Pekanbaru. However, the reality in the field is that it cannot be implemented optimally. This is because it is very difficult to find the hit-and-run perpetrator, to be held accountable for his actions, and the families of the victims / heirs to get assistance from the vehicle owner, which is regulated in Law 22 of 2009 corcening Road Traffic and Transportation. Hit-and-run cases that are not revealed by the police, become delinquent cases every year. This type of research is research conducted by identifying in the law on how the effectiveness of the law applies in society. The conclusion is tha it cannot be implemented effectively yet, because there is no clarity and firmness on the legal subject of road administrator. So it is not clear who should be responsible for traffic accidents caused by demaged roads. Efforts are pre-emptive efforts by providing outreach to all levels of society, regarding the prevention and impact of non-compliance with traffic regulations. Preventive measures (prevention), namely, installing traffic signs along the road as a guide for road users fot the creation of safety, security, order and smoothness of road traffic and transportation, as well as conducting regular patrols. Repressive measures (prosecution) which aim to provide a deterrent effect against the perpetrators of traffic violations that cause accidents resulting in death. Keywords: Application; hit-and-run; death.ABSTRAKArtikel ini membahas tentang penerapan pertolongan dan perawatan korban tabrak lari yang mengakibatkan kematian di kota pekanbaru.
