ABSTRACTAnalysis of The Need for Road Signs and Markings to Improve Safety in Bangka Belitung Province (Case Study of Provincial Roads in Bangka Regency): The existence of several accident-prone points that cause the number of victims with varying fatality rates and cause a lot of fatalities and material. For this reason, it is necessary to analyze the cause of the accident, determine the survey location in order to provide appropriate handling solutions to overcome the accident riots on the Bangka Belitung Islands Province road. This study uses a quantitative and qualitative descriptive approaches. The result is the four black spot locations surveyed had 90% smooth and good road conditions, with sloping topographical conditions and normal road geometries, no hazardous road geometric conditions were identified. The average speed of four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles at the Provincial road black spot location in Bangka Regency is in a safe position (80 km/hour), so it can be concluded that the accident that occurred at the black spot location was not caused by speed factors. Traffic conditions at the black spot location are smooth without delay, and the number of vehicles that pass tends to be low. The results of observations were identified most of the road network not yet installed traffic signs, as markers of vulnerable locations, public facilities and so forth. The installation of traffic signs according to The American Traffic Safety Services Association (2008) can reduce traffic accidents. Recommendations to improve road safety on provincial roads in Bangka Regency, it is necessary to install 52 signs on Jl Sungai Liat - Puding Besar in the direction of Pangkal Pinang (survey location 1), and 80 signs on Jl Lintas Timur Desa Rebo Kec. Sungailiat Pinang (2nd survey location). Traffic accidents are increasing along with the increasing number of traffic violations, the increasing number of vehicles, especially motorcycles, and driving vehicles exceeds the maximum allowable speed (speeding). The number of traffic accidents and the number of accident victims is increasing every year. Data from the National Police Traffic Corps, road transportation accidents in 2016 recorded 106,129 cases with 26,185 fatalities, 22,558 seriously injured, 121,550 minor injuries, and property damage only Rp 226,883,000,000.00. The most vulnerable road users are pedestrians, non-motorized vehicle users, children, and elderly people. The solution proposed is by mapping traffic accident-prone locations, conducting road safety audits at black spot locations to determine the conditions and handling efforts to reduce accident events in the form of installing traffic signs. The results of the road safety audit revealed that there had been a deficiency of road infrastructure in Tlahab Lor road section. One of the recommendations made is by installing traffic signs. Handling of black spot locations on the Tlahab Lor road, Karangreja that is by installing 4 (four) vehicle maximum limit signs of 40 km/h and 30 km/h. After knowing the location of black spot people is expected to be more alert and careful when passing through these roads.

The increasing number of residents every year causes the need for transportation to also increase, this also occurs on the Sukabumi-Bogor Primary Arterial Road which is a road with a fairly high volume of traffic flow, in addition because the industrial center and tourism sector are located right on the national road, Insufficient geometric roads caused by the increasing number of vehicles is also a factor that affects the high number of traffic accidents along the Cibadak – Bogor Road. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the accident-prone areas (blackspots) on the Jl. Surya Kencana, Pamuruyan Village, Cibadak District - Jl. Raya Ciutara, Pondok Kaso Landeuh Village, Parungkuda District. The method used in this study is the EAN (Equivalent Accident Number) method and the Cussum (Cumulative Summery) method. From the results of the weighting using the EAN method, it was identified that STA 1, STA 4, STA 5, and STA 6 were blackspots. Meanwhile, the Cussum method identified STA 1, STA 4, STA 5, STA 6, and STA 9 as blackspots. The right type of handling for accident-prone locations from the observations, among others, is making a thunder strip facility close to the zebra cross area to reduce vehicle speed and installing a safety fence on the shoulder of the road so as to minimize road crossings that directly cross the road without using zebra cross facilities.

Abstract: Traffic signs that are installed on either side of the road that we often see when driving on the highway have certain meanings and goals. The installation of traffic signs is one of the public services that the government must carry out by the relevant agencies for the convenience of road users and reduce the number of traffic accidents. Aside from being a guide, the signs also functioned as a warning for road users about the conditions and situation of the road to be passed. For this reason, road users must understand and understand the meaning of the signs installed. But for various reasons, many people have not had the opportunity to learn and understand the meaning and purpose of signs of traffic signs. With the development of computer technology and video animation, learning methods about understanding the meaning and purpose of traffic signs can be made easier and more efficient to attract the public's interest in understanding them. Because it takes the form of animated videos and tutorials, so it's easy to display and play back if the learning participants don't understand. With the community service from STMIK Royal to Porsea Sector Police, we are trying to help the police station to introduce traffic signs to the community using the animated video tutorial method. Vehicle speed is one of the parameters used to detect the characteristics of traffic on a road segment. Vehicle speed is a variable that determines the level of road service as well as the value of the comparison between traffic flow and vehicle density on the road section under study. This study aims to develop an appropriate algorithm that can describe the situation on the arterial road Ir. H. Soekarno about the speed of vehicles passing in it. The method used in this study is polynomial regression with vehicle speed as a dependent variable and the measurement time as a independent variable. The model is said to be good and can be represented by looking at the correlation value R2 that is in each calculated model. The results obtained from this study are that the relationship between vehicle speed and measurement time has the best results on the polynomial model level 7 for measurements in the morning and evening with the same polynomial model. This shows that the graph of the velocity of time is not linear but is a polynomial function. From this research, it can be concluded that the Ir.H.Soekarno road section has varied vehicle speed characteristics and the appropriate mathematical model algorithm is the 6th polynomial model with R2 correlation value of 0.88

The increase in motor vehicles accompanied with expansion of roads has brought with it the challenge of addressing the adverse influence of road traffic accidents. Road incidents are a nationwide cataclysm with ever increasing trend which incurs a human health and development challenge and highly affect the human capital development of every nation. A mortality rate database (WHO, 2002) assures that India has highest number of accidents. Accident Black Spots are those locations on the road which have higher severity of accident either in terms of numbers or in terms of injuries. In this paper, efforts have been made to identify the location of accident black spots on national highway from singhpora pattan to panthachowk srinagar. The present era accidents are contributing major deaths worldwide due to increase in vehicular traffic. It has been estimated that every year 1.38 lakh lose their limbs and 6 lakh people get injured in road accidents in india.our country incurs a loss of 58000 crore each year due to road accidents. The most used roads to travel from jalandhar in punjab to uri in kashmir is NH-1A.The old name for NH-44 is NH-1A which was replaced after renumbering of all national highways in year 2010. In this report, the analysis includes study of some major accident spots or busy intersections in the NH-1A in between Pantha chowkh Srinagar to Singhpora Pattan. The study includes visiting sites, collecting required data for analysis and derives the results and remedies from what we had got. This report will be containing the material surveyed, pictures of road at different locations ,road details, figures, material for understanding of the unknown and finally the conclusion
