A descriptive survey research design was used together with a convenient sampling technique. Using a structured questionnaire, data were gathered from (one hundred) 100 Teacher educants and Principals from the Colleges of education in Northern Ghana. The Likert rating scale was adopted to indicate the extent of agreement or disagreement. The findings indicated that the majority of the respondents agreed their principals have a good relationship with teacher educants. The personality traits exhibited by the Principals in the Colleges of education in Northern Ghana varied and each of the leadership styles exhibited exerted positive but insignificant effect on teacher educants performance. It is being recommended that to promote teacher educants satisfaction at the workplace, principals must create a congenial climate in their respective colleges to ensure that teacher educants can share and freely express their opinions. Pre-service and in-service training programmes must be organized periodically leading to improved performance

This study investigated the leadership styles of principals in public Colleges of Education (CoEs) in Ghana based on the setting, zone and location of the colleges. The quantitative method of the cross-sectional survey design was adopted for the study. The census sampling technique was employed to obtain 38 principals for the study. The Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) by Bass and Avolio (2004) was adapted to collect data from the principals. Means, standard deviation, t-test and ANOVA were utilised in analysing the data. The descriptive analysis established that generally, principals of public CoEs in Ghana mostly used transformational leadership style as compared to transactional and laissez-faire leadership styles. The inferential analyses also revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in the leadership styles of the principals based on setting, zone and location of the colleges. Among the recommendations is that the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), formerly known as the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), should consider competence when selecting and appointing principals and not the setting, zone and location of public CoEs because generally, these variables did not statistically significantly determine the leadership styles adopted by the principals.

The research was conducted through questionnaire administration on the impact of staff training and development at GHS-K. The questionnaire was administered to randomly selected health workers at the selected public hospitals and staff of GHS-K. The data collected were analyzed to yield frequencies and percentages of responses. The results showed that In-service training (85.0%) as part of on-the-job training types dominate training programmes organized by GHS-Kumasi Metro and that greater number of these programmes are routine (66.0%) in nature and as such do not base on training- needs assessment. The study also shows that the organization of training and development programmes at GHS-K has brought some remarkable improvement (59.0%) in the performance of employees, and that financial constraints (64.0%) and lack of organizational objectives (54.0%) pose a challenge to its sustenance. The major findings include that librarians in Federal University Libraries in South East Nigerian possess high ICT literacy. Librarians in Federal University Libraries of South East Nigerian use ICT-based resources to a high extent The following constraints militate against librarians' acquisition of ICT skills: inadequate funding, poor infrastructural facilities, lack of in house/services training programmes for librarians on ICT, lack of implementation of ICT in the curriculum of library schools, librarians do not participate effectively in professional conferences, seminars and workshops on ICT. The study was carried out to survey NCE students’ perceptions on use of library course as an aid to their use of library resources in Colleges of Education in South-West Nigeria. The descriptive survey design was employed and four research questions guided the study. From a population of 60,481 students, a sample of 1,210 was drawn using the proportionate stratified sampling technique. Meanwhile, out of the 1,210 copies of the questionnaire distributed, 1,097 were fully completed (filled out) as retrieved and analyzed. It represents (90.66%) or approximately (91%) response rate and considered adequate because the standard and acceptable response rate for most studies is 60%. A questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection after validation by experts in the field, and pre-tested through Cronbach Alpha method that yielded 0.743 aggregate values. Complete data subsequently gathered from 1,097 copies of the questionnaire retrieved were analyzed by employing the statistical mean to answer the research questions and criterion mean placed at 2.50. Among the major findings of the study were: Students perceived use of library course as an aid to their use of all library resource categories examined in the study (that is, reference, reserve, circulation and serials resources). The study therefore recommends that students should be given increased opportunity to access “use of library course programme” as a veritable tool of enhancing their capacity for adequate use of reference resources among others in colleges of education in the region to ensure their effective integration into our 21st century society even after college life.

Hence, this paper aimed at investigating the impact of leadership styles on the entrepreneurial orientation of SMEs in Polokwane Municipality. A quantitative research method was used and 103 SMEs participated in the survey. The random sampling technique was used. Self-administered questionnaires were utilised to collect data in a survey. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation and regression analysis. Reliability of the data collection instruments was measured using the Cronbach’s alpha. The results indicated that the SMEs display average levels of entrepreneurial orientation. In addition, the results showed that SMEs display average levels of leadership styles inclined towards transformational leadership style. Furthermore, the results showed a significant positive relationship between the independent variables: leadership styles with the dependent variable (EO) of SMEs.
