Artificial intelligence has become a crucial technology for the development of the times. In the practice of emerging engineering education about artificial intelligence, how to enhance students' understanding of artificial intelligence technology, strengthen students' enthusiasm for learning, and improve their research and application innovation ability is a key issue. This study constructs a student-centered STEM learning model that emphasizes innovative applications, so as to promote project-based learning effects for students, reduce learning burnout as well as improve their research and application capabilities. We take the design improvement and experimental result analysis of the intelligent car target tracking system as an example and verifies the effectiveness of the learning model through multi-dimensional evaluation and comparative experiments. Under the same experimental equipment and necessary project functions, we divide students into STEM learning groups and traditional project learning groups to carry out learning activities. This study focused on the learning process of the STEM learning group. The empirical analysis shows that the project completion time and quantitative evaluation of the effects are better than the general learning model.

Education is essentially an activity carried out by students which results in changes in themselves. This principle implies that what must be prioritized is the learning activities of students instead of something that is given to students. STEM-based learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) can train students to apply their knowledge to create designs as a form of solving environmental problems by utilizing technology. The learning model recommended for use in the 2013 curriculum is a student-centered learning model, one of which is the Project Based Learning model. This study will analyze how much influence STEM education with the PjBL model has on student learning outcomes. This study uses a meta-analysis method. determined via the Effect Size (ES). Research data were obtained from 25 national and international journals. The meta-analysis study is based on three categories, namely education level, subjects and student learning outcomes. The results showed that; first, the influence of the PjBL model of STEM education based on the level of education is most effective in SMP. ES value = 1.89 and categorized as high. Second, based on the type of subject, the most effective influence of the PjBL model of STEM education is Mathematics. ES value = 3,7 and categorized as high. Third, based on student learning outcomes, the influence of the PjBL model of STEM education is the most effective in the aspect of skills. ES value = 1.68 and categorized as high.

Craniopharyngioma is a congenital brain tumor with clinical characteristics of hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction, increased intracranial pressure, and visual field disorder, among other injuries. Its clinical diagnosis mainly depends on radiological examinations (such as Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging). However, assessing numerous radiological images manually is a challenging task, and the experience of doctors has a great influence on the diagnosis result. The development of artificial intelligence has brought about a great transformation in the clinical diagnosis of craniopharyngioma. This study reviewed the application of artificial intelligence technology in the clinical diagnosis of craniopharyngioma from the aspects of differential classification, prediction of tissue invasion and gene mutation, prognosis prediction, and so on. Based on the reviews, the technical route of intelligent diagnosis based on the traditional machine learning model and deep learning model were further proposed. Additionally, in terms of the limitations and possibilities of the development of artificial intelligence in craniopharyngioma diagnosis, this study discussed the attentions required in future research, including few-shot learning, imbalanced data set, semi-supervised models, and multi-omics fusion.

Electronic monitoring (EM) is increasingly used to monitor catch and bycatch in wild capture fisheries. EM video data is still manually reviewed and adds to on-going management costs. Computer vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence-based systems are seen to be the next step in automating EM data workflows. Here we show some of the obstacles we have confronted, and approaches taken as we develop a system to automatically identify and count target and bycatch species using cameras deployed to an industry vessel. A Convolutional Neural Network was trained to detect and classify target and bycatch species groups, and a visual tracking system was developed to produce counts. The multiclass detector achieved a mean Average Precision of 53.42%. Based on the detection results, the visual tracking system provided automatic fish counts for the test video data. Automatic counts were within two standard deviations of the manual counts for the target species, and most times for the bycatch species. Unlike other recent attempts, weather and lighting conditions were largely controlled by mounting cameras under cover.

PROJECT BASED LEARNING IMPLEMENTATION IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN SURAKARTAAbstractProject-based learning needs to be implemented in junior high schools because by applying this model it will enhance student creativity. Project-based learning is a learning model that makes students active and innovative, completing a project in a certain period. This study aims to analyze the learning process at the junior high school in several schools in Surakarta to implement project-based learning. The design of this study is qualitative descriptive. Data analysis using Milles Huberman by observation, in-depth interviews, and student cognitive achievement. The results show that the learning that has been done in several Junior High School in Surakarta has not used project-based learning. This lack of using Project-Based learning is because the teacher has no direction or is still limited to learning using the Project-Based Learning model, so the teacher prefers to teach with lecture and discussion methods in the classroom. Even though in the 2013 curriculum, the application of a student-centered learning model is highly recommended. The researcher hopes that the results of this study will help design a curriculum that uses a project-based learning model.

An unprecedented turn in educational pedagogies due to the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected the students’ learning process worldwide. This article describes developing a STEM-based online course during the schools’ closure in the COVID-19 epidemic to combat the virtual science classroom’s limitations that could promise an active STEM learning environment. This learning model of the online STEM-based course successfully developed and exercised on 38 primary–preparatory students helped them to overcome the decline in their learning productivity. Various digital learning resources, including PowerPoint presentations, videos, online simulations, interactive quizzes, and innovative games, were implemented as instructional tools to achieve the respective content objectives. A feedback mechanism methodology was executed to improve online instructional delivery and project learners’ role in a student-centered approach, thereby aiding in the course content’s qualitative assessment. The students’ learning behavior provided concrete insights into the program’s positive outcomes, witnessing minimal student withdrawals and maximum completed assignments. Conclusions had been drawn from the course assessment (by incorporating both synchronous and asynchronous means), student feedback, and SWOT analysis to evaluate the course’s effectiveness.
