The objective of this study is to examine young adults’ perceptions of the pandemic. This study is based on a content analysis of memes posted on one of the most popular emerging–adult-focused Facebook groups established during the pandemic. It finds that three themes emerged: pandemic humor, generational identity humor, and generational conflict humor. Memes about the pandemic include sub-themes of a coming apocalypse, adults who deny the seriousness of COVID-19, and a more general expression of negative feelings, particularly anger and fear, through humor. Posts also emphasize the existence of a shared generational identity through humor, with commonly understood references to issues like online learning, productivity, and mental health. Finally, generational conflict humor emphasizes antagonism with older generations, including mistrust of government and political leaders, professors, and universities.

The study aimed to determine the extent of the productivity and students’ learning outcomes increased during the COVID-19 pandemic through the independent learning implementation. The implementation of this independent learning model is based on the existence of appeals and government policies that require and oblige lecturers and students to carry out the learning process at their respective homes. The main subjects of this study were all students in the first semester of Class A of the Hindu Religious Education Study Program, Faculty of Dharma Acarya, Universitas Hindu Negeri I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa Denpasar with a total of 28 people. The results showed that 98% of students experienced an increase in learning productivity. It was supported by an increase in learning outcomes with a percentage of 96%. This increase was evidenced by comparing the middle test score with the final test score. The increase in student learning outcomes cannot be separated from parents’ support, supervision of lecturers, and online learning programs using zoom. The YouTube-assisted learning program is also a way to support the independent learning implementation, besides learning books obtained online. This independent learning model is considered productive during the COVID-19 pandemic to support government policy in conduct social distancing and increasing student learning productivity.

Procrastination became common practices to many students which has affected their learning productivity. This study was conducted for the purpose of gathering facts and information about procrastination and how it affected the students in academic aspect. This study aimed to accomplish the following objectives: to determine the effect of procrastination on the learning productivity, to discover the factors that cause procrastination, and to identify if there is any significant difference of academic procrastination on the learning productivity of the respondents when they are grouped according to gender. The researchers used descriptive research method in gathering data. Convenience sampling was applied to select the respondents composing of 50 students from all section of Grade 12 STEM strand. Weighted arithmetic mean and independent t-test are the statistical tools used to answer the entire research question. The data gathered was computed using a computer programming called Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and analyzed and interpreted with aide of the statistician. In view of the findings and analysis, the following recommendation are hereby presented, students must set deadlines to be more productive and should eliminate distraction when doing school works; parents must not fail to monitor the academic tasks of their children. Parental motivation, guidance, and advice would be much help in light of the modular learning in order to motivate and boast the students to do their work; and teachers alongside student leaders must initiate a seminar addressing time management to overcome procrastination among students.

Learning problems amid a pandemic tend to be one-way. Teachers provide more one-way information and assignments to students without feedback, resulting in boredom for students studying online. Therefore, one solution is given through the startup project leadership (SPL) program. This activity was held on October 31 - November 27, 2020, at three elementary schools: SDN Mangkura III Makassar, SDN 234 Barambang II Maros Regency, and SD IT Asshiddiq Bone Regency, involving as many as 40 students. The results of the activity can be concluded that the SPL Program is a collaborative action of teachers in innovating to create quality education in the pandemic era consisting of 3 stages: Incubation which is the initial planning carried out by designing joint activities with students and parents related to the problems faced by students and solutions that will be applied; Startup which is an active activity for program realization agreed at the incubation stage; and Mobilization which is the final stage through process reflection, evaluation, and conclusion drawing, as well as follow-up to the results of program realization that have been carried out. The implementation of SPL is running well according to the time and targets that have been determined and can increase learning productivity during pandemics.

Abstract Background and Aims We aimed to investigate a new team-based remote teaching model (TRTM) among M.D and Ph.D. candidates major in nephrology to improve their scientific research training and reduce stresses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method From February 1 to April 30 in 2020, we set up TRTM (Fig 1) via online conferencing systems as: (i) Plan-Do-Check-Action cycle every two to three days to promote project progress, (ii) weekly lab meetings for sharing experiences and ideas; and (iii) weekly journal clubs for literature reading and knowledge expansion. We recruited nine students in TRTM training, and another 25 students as control group, who arranged their schedule by themselves during the quarantine. Results 1. A survey about the remote teaching 25 mentors and 34 students had received a survey and all believed that teamwork, lab meeting, and short-term academic goals were essential in remote training. Non-scheduled discussion (72.0%,18/25) and regular online lab meetings (60.0%,15/25) were the most common traditional methods. About 85.3% of students and 28.0% of the mentors agreed that “poor self-control” was the main cause of remote-teaching difficulty. 2. The effectiveness of TRTM training Compared to the control group, students in TRTM had more self-reported benefits from “mentors’ feedback”, “team support”, and “team communication” (All P<0.05), despite no significant differences in learning productivity or daily work progress. Meanwhile, the TRTM group presented with lower “anxiety related to the COVID-19 pandemic” and lower “stress-related to scientific research” (Both P<0.05). For TRTM students, the academic ability was also evaluated at the baseline and after three months of practice, by team members (7 teachers and 9 students). They made progress in varied aspects during the pandemic, such as executing planned tasks, self-improvement based on feedback, and teamwork ability (All P<0.001). Conclusion Our team-based remote teaching model helped students gain more supports and growth in academics and reduce psychological pressures caused by isolation.

Learning is a communication process between lecturers and students. Communication will not run without the help of means of conveying messages or media that support learning productivity. In modern times like today, more and more people, especially students, have Android smartphones as the main equipment for daily communication. In the biology department at the University of Papua at this time, learning still uses the lecture dictates as a teaching aid. If the lecture dictates are lost or wet due to waterlogging, the student must spend funds to buy a new lecture dictates. To overcome this problem, new alternatives are needed in learning aids. For this reason, android-based applications for the introduction of human organs can make it easier for lecturers to deliver the learning process material for the introduction of human organs so that learning outcomes for students become easy and interesting. This research was conducted by creating an application using the app inventor service. This application contains material about the description of the introduction of human organs. For testing the application testing uses the black box method and survey methods for application users so that the level of user satisfaction with the application can be seen.
